Best Mexican food in Napa in my opinion. Everything is aways fresh and well flavored. Top picks are shrimp ceviche, guacamole, polla asada, especially when you ask for it in the burrito. Attached is the market, which has a really great selection of any meat or Mexican product.

Some of the best tasting carnitas tacos I have ever had. Polite staff and easy ordering at the counter. Situated in the back corner of a market, all orders are to go there is no seating. Wide variety of fresh salsa and sauces and other delicious items on the menu. Look forward to returning.

I stopped by here during my road trip because if I'm in California, you best believe I'm going to get some Mexican food. The market is small, and it took me a second to realize where exactly they are located. The carne asada burrito- 3/5 stars Carne asada tacos- 3/5 stars

Three little pigs (actually, two and one shrimp, but that doesn't sound as good now does it? :)

En route home from Napa after a work conference. Sick of hotel food... so did a Yelp search for what was good, cheap and quick nearby. I'm so glad I did. At first, I thought I'd just pulled up to a supermarket... what's going on here? But it soon became clear this was both a supermarket AND a taqueria. I wasn't sure this made sense. But my mind is now changed. Amazing tacos. Just amazing. I figure it probably helps having every fresh ingredient you could possibly need -- thanks to the supermarket (and butcher) attached. Really, really highly recommended. Shrimp, carnitas and chorizo tacos that were just absolutely delicious.

Super burrito. $6.20, tasty and filling.

This is my neighborhood burrito place! I almost hate to blow it up because it is still kind of a hidden gem that a lot of people don't know about, but it needs to be shared! The super burritos are BIG and tasty. What I like, is that they make their burritos authentically, by not adding lettuce or shredded cabbage as a filler, but rather just meat, beans, rice, sourcream, and fresh made pico de gallo. The staff is extremely friendly and the choices are fairly abundant. Every time I go in, I see them preparing components freshly, so you know you are getting fresh, quality ingredients in your burritos (which you can't say about all places). The nachos are also good and filling. If you haven't tried this place, I highly recommend it as you may just never go back to your old spot again. This spot is located inside the Economy Market (Mercado Economico) on E. Imola.

This broke my tooth. It was in the ceviche.

When I bit into my Ceviche tostada, I felt my tooth crack and then this is what I found in my tostada. The food was truly delicious. But I'm trying to figure out how the guy continue to make his ceviche when he's obviously missing a part of his machinery. They didn't seem to care. I wasn't calling because I was going to sue anybody or ask them to pay for the $780 repair now to my tooth. I actually thought he might want to know why his machine wasn't working or possibly somebody else getting another part in their food if the machine is not tightened up very well.

Special of the day 4 tacos for five bucks.

Fast and friendly service. High quality food. Great prices. Will definitely stop by this Hidden Gem again when passing through Napa.

What an awesome find in Napa. Delicious tacos for $1.50 each. And since it's a grocery store, pick up a Mexican coke and pastries.

Hearing the stories behind the restaurant while tasting dishes that have been enjoyed for generations makes for something far more memorable than just a meal. The guacamole was the best I've ever had, fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor. The salsas were light yet flavorful, and the corn was delicious. The presentation was minimalistic but still managed to stand out. The carne asada tacos were a generous portion, and the fresh tortillas made all the difference. What really stood out was that everything was made from scratch, and you could truly taste the care and quality in every bite. The hot chocolate was wonderful and is a must try if you enjoy a rich cinnamon hot chocolate. Experiencing the oldest restaurant in Napa is incredibly special, and it's a place that captures the heart and soul of the valley. A must visit for anyone looking to enjoy not only great food, but also a piece of Napa's history.

Date of Reservation Saturday, June 6…read more The Food I'll start with the highlights: the food here was absolutely great. Everything our table ordered was delicious, cooked perfectly, and well-presented. The kitchen definitely knows what they are doing. The Service Unfortunately, the dining experience was really let down by how rushed we felt. Throughout the night, it felt like the front-of-house staff was on a mission to flip our table as fast as possible. Servers were constantly hovering and picking up plates while half of our group was still actively eating. It reached a point where one of my friends was practically interrogated about whether she was finished. They kept coming back to check on her plate so many times that she eventually just gave up, got annoyed, and told them to just take it away before she was even done. It's hard to enjoy great food when you feel like an inconvenience or a timer is ticking down. I'd love to come back for the flavors, but the staff needs to let guests actually breathe and enjoy their meals.

The nachos were really good, I wish I had asked for an extra side of salsa because all of the flavor/meat was on the top and the bottom of the bowl was just beans, still delicious but could have used more flavor. The chicken taquitos were also really good! We got 4 margaritas and two food items for $66 before tip, not bad for Napa! I'm not sure if the happy hour time is purely for winter but happy Hour from 11:30am-6pm is a great way to get the locals in!!

It's a small and casual operation - there's a large seating area behind the restaurant with self serve water. Limited parking out front, and the back lot (with the seating) also has some space for parking, but it's not hard to find parking in the surrounding area. The food here is awesome - deep flavors and genuinely a ton of craft in their work (tamales and tortillas made fresh, you can see them making it through the window by the register). The food is pretty classic, but just executed so well - I really don't think you can go wrong. My personal favorites are the mole enchiladas / tamales (gently sweet, smoky mole, not overly chocolatey and really balanced, especially with a side of pickles) and the fish tacos (GIGANTIC).

What came up short was the ratio of batter to fish. Way too much batter for the amount of fish. Also it was totally the wrong fish for the batter. Way too soft. I don't know how you eat these in the restaurant but they are a mess. If I'm paying almost twenty bucks for fish tacos. I think I might expect slightly more elegance. Menu did look very interesting.
