bought a Mercedes from this dealership back in 2 with the app a month after. Went back to the dealership they told me they had taken care of it and switched over the Vin to my name since I hadn't missed a payment or had any problems for years. I never checked it back in it until one of my payments had an issue. Turns out they never did that years ago. I called for about 2 to 3 weeks now at this point requesting help. they would always tell me they would call me back and never did. It got so bad. I literally had to drive to the location to even speak to somebody and get some help and even then. They still did not help me. I'm still waiting for an email back from them. My brand-new Cadillac CT5 from Motor Werks turned out to be a lemon under the law. What makes it worse is the dealership's complete lack of accountability.! The Manager, Izabella, has not returned numerous calls, and the dealership refuses to assist me as their customer. This issue had been escalated to GM, the Cadillac representative, and the General Manager of Motor Werks -- yet I still receive no real communication or resolution. I'd give Zero stars if I could. My wife bought a 2020 Range Rover Evoque in March 2024. She bought the platinum warranty and was told it covered mechanical and electronics bumper to bumper power train included. When she finally had to use it recently she was told it covered none of the issues at hand and that it was only for electronic issues that were not the kind that are wrong with the car. Giving her zero coverage on $8000 in repairs. Now she can't get an extended warranty due to pre existing issues. We have to trade the car in prematurely when we aren't financially ready to do so. If I could give them a no star review I would. Shady AF!! In April we bought our son his car for his graduation from college. Our 2nd purchase from them. Down payment as gift and he pays the rest. Clean car, single owner and maintained by them. Looked like the perfect fit. It came with a 6 mo, 6000 mile warranty. The car was driven 1006 miles before we noticed after a drive the car would smoke. Appeared to be a valve cover gasket with a drip the would hit the exhaust manifold and burn off. Oil level reads fine, no warning lights. Called them and my dealer put me in touch with the service dept. They advised me they need to diagnose the problem and submit it to the warranty company. I would have to pay for a tow. They also advised I would not be covered as in the "breakdown clause" gaskets are not covered although technically the car is not broken down. Talked with my dealer again who agreed it has to be diagnosed in order to submit it and I need to get it in. I confirmed the "warranty" is good at any BMW dealer or ASE shop. I have a BMW dealer a mile from the house safe enough to drive it there with no worry. My diagnosis was spot on. No only did they find that but advised it needs a belt and recomends brakes. OVER $4000 worth of work. The car was 15K. They also confirmed the warranty denied the claim. Warranty is not worth the paper it is printed on!!! And although my dealer said Motor Werks would make it right in the end today I was informed "I'm on my own for the bill." I have had quite a few cars in my life and never have had anything major fail with only 55K miles on it. BMW should be embarrassed. I should have looked here first and seen the overall majority of the reviews are 1 star. Mark it up to tuition and a costly lesson learned. So, went here 1/4/25 to get new Benz. Joel was our saleman. Had a great experience here and he worked with us through the whole process. All the finance guys were nice and everyone was pleasant. I am African American and have had several profiling experiences at a lot of dealers in the past. But definitely not here. I think their services are overpriced, especially because they are using aftermarket parts. I talked to other repairman and he said he can get original parts for my car with no problem, or I can do aftermarket parts if I want to save some money. At the Motor Werks dealer, they don't even tell you about what parts are installed, unless you ask as I did. Also, their inspection fee is over $200 if you decide not to repair your car there. I was not happy with their rear sliding door repair as they replaced the roller for the sliding door, and less then 2 weeks later, the whole cable and motor needs to be replace, what a coincidence. read more

I bought a Mercedes convertible there in spring of 2024. They sold it to me with only 1 key. Supposedly they took off $600 for me to get one made, but now they won't return my calls or texts to help me with this. by the way, the key cost $897 not $600. Also, when I bought my car they didn't give me any help on any of the switches, etc., and told me that the owner's manual was in the glove compartment. When I got home, I went to get it and there was no manual in the glove compartment. I called my sales guy and he said it was in there and to look again. I am not a dummy! No manual. So, he ordered one for me and it took like a month to get it. Very poor customer service!!!! After 3 months I still only have one ignition key for my car!! For the first time ever , I was LIED to and treated with DISHONESTY at Motorwerks. On Monday 08/14/23 I spoke w Honda service advisor Evans as I knew the 100k service is expensive and wanted to know the cost . He told me 833.57. At no time did he tell me there would be a 3% service charge for paying by credit card. I made an appt for Wednesday 08/16/23. When I dropped the car off he did not tell me they would be charging more than 833.57 and again no mention of a 3% service charge for paying by credit card. My first clue should have been only one other car in the service area at 7am when I arrived. One usually has to wait as its always been very busy first thing in the morning. After and only after the work had been performed was I told about a 3% service charge for credits cards and to my shock a higher price than what was quoted on Monday. Most people don't have 800.00+ dollars laying around . Had I been told this upfront , I would have waited til I had the cash. So basically my choices were to wait 4 weeks for the cash and have no car or pay their 3% fee . It was like having my car held hostage. In the end my bill was 885.54 after a quote of 833.57 . 51.97 higher than the original quote , and had they applied the 10% coupon (83.33 more off ) for a total difference of 135.30 ! It is slippery slope when dealerships lie to a customer. What else have they lied to me about ? Did they really do the services they billed me for ? Did they do them correctly ? I DO NOT TRUST THEM anymore. I've been coming here for over 20years and was never lied to or cheated before today. A web search after picking up my car explained everything. On September 23, 2021 I purchased a S550 from Motor Werks of Barrington, that following weekend I tried to active the MBRACE service and after 5 calls over 3 days it was determined that I needed to bring the car in to be programmed. It was at that moment my NIGHTMARE began. While there for service they damaged my bumper. You will notice on the 3 pictures attached, that when the car was purchased it had NO damage to the bumper. The car is garage kept so there's not opportunity for the bumper to be damaged, when your service dept returned the vehicle to me the first thing I noticed when walking to it was that the front license place was crooked. This caused me to take a closer look. It was at that point I discovered that damage to the bumper. When I pointed out this damage to Stephen, he replied we take videos of every car when it comes in to note any damage. My reply was GREAT! LETS ROLL TAPE!!, surprise surprise, the video on showed the sides and back of the vehicle! The front of the vehicle "somehow" got deleted, when I complained to my sales rep BRIAN he walked down with me and spoke to Stephen who replied "don't worry we'll make it right! I drove the car home because I didn't have time to leave it, that weekend it got cold out and now I discovered that the HEAT also doesn't work! I know it's a USED VEHICLE, but you would think in my paying $40,000 that there would be a expectation that the heat would work. When I mentioned this to Stephen he replied "It was intermittent" I'm no master mechanic but I do know if the heater core (which needed to be replaced) was bad it would just be bad and NOT Intermittent. I paid the $662 but wasn't happy about it! When I asked him if he saw the repairs to the bumper he replied that he sent me a photo. I told him I never received a photo, and showed him the text he sent advising me the car was ready. He then said you have to open the link to see the photo. (how would I know to do that and that a photo was attached?) when I opened the photo, MUCH TO MY DISMAY it looked like Sh.t and I told him exactly that! Phenomenal staff, phenomenal deals, phenomenal service, phenomenal processes. So to start, let's get the price out of the way. They are upfront and honest, the deal is the deal. Especially in a world in which there aren't many cars to be selling, I completely understand. However, that are willing to wheel and deal on used car purchases, and that is where most of the fun comes in. Because the pendulum swings both ways with that one. Sean Caffe was excellent, keeping cool and collected, with no games or gimmicks. This isn't like all those other dealers, whose salesmen live and die by the sale. They literally give you what you want and are upfront and completely honest with what the offer is. You also only ever work with one person, you don't get pulled into a room with a manager and later dragged across the office to speak with the high pressure finance manager to get you to buy things you aren't looking for. The questions are yes and no, with the responses of "you sure? Okay. And we can't sell you what you don't want." This is a massive departure from dealerships of the past. The dealership itself is well laid out, with a freaking Starbucks for the customers and a state of the art car wash. Everyone is really friendly and welcoming, and they just want to give you what you want. While the prices may or may not be higher than expected, you get what you pay for, quality in service, staff and selection. I got a big car for moving the family around every now and then. Very very poor- I got " Service B" on 10/26/2022 and was given a report that the vehicle passed every tasks including wear on the brake pads were even( Inner and outer pad wear) . I was hearing a loud grinding sounds when braking and regular driving. So, I went to another local technician because the sounds are so concerning. After another inspection(02/04/2023), the technician found that inner pad was worn out completely. So I went back to MW about this issue and they brushed me off and blamed it on my driving habits I do not understand how a large company can overlook a basic inspection. My brake pads were at 5mm evenly when inspected but it does not make any sense for the inner wear to be almost gone only on one of four wheels in such a short period of time with no changes to my driving habits. How does one wheel's inner brake pad wear down like this??? Stephen (Service Consultant) was rude over the phone and in person when I brought up this issue with no resolution and admittance to primary issue of the technician unprofessionalism except saying just paying for new pads. read more

Went to Motor Werks on a Wednesday to purchase a car. We were very impressed with the way we were greeted. Picked out a XT6 which they didn't have in stock. The sales manager said there was no problem because they would locate one for us and that we would have the car by Monday. Gave them a deposit and left to wait for their call. Never heard from them, so I called on Saturday afternoon to ask if we were on for Monday. The sales manager said they were waiting for a few return calls. She would call on Monday afternoon. Four o'clock rolled around on Monday and no call. I called Tuesday to find out what was going on. They gave me the same excuse that they were waiting on a call. Of course they did try to sell me a more expensive car. Needless to say my feelings changed quickly and I was very disappointed. They acted as though they could care less about a sale. My wife and I went online and found two cars with all the options we wanted within 10 minutes. Called the other dealership and they quoted us a price over the phone which was considerably cheaper than Motor Werks. We purchased the car and picked it up the next day. Three weeks later, Motor Werks called and asked if we still wanted a car. What a joke. Evidently, they weren't interested in a $75,000 sale. Won't be going back there. read more

I would give zero stars if that was an option. Poor / non-existent communication, lots of excuses, no follow-up / follow through, and seems that nobody cares from the top to the bottom of the company. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere! Bought my second Porsche Cayenne (this one is a used 2019 Turbo, my first one was brand new 2021 GTS) from Motor Werks early January of 2023 and have regretted it since the first week of ownership. Noticed issues immediately on the drive home (break pads and wiper blades that should have been replaced before they sold me the car, car was dirty inside & out - we finished the transaction when it was dark out) and they did make that right by replacing them however, they charged me for replacing spark plugs that were due for service at 30,000 miles even though the car had 29,040 miles when I bought it and suggested that I have a mobile detailer come to my home for $150.... Really? Fine, I was willing to let that go. Within the first week, and to this day, I started to & keep having both small but frustrating issues (driver auto- up/down window control may or may not work, warnings saying PAS restricted, high beam assist not available, Apple Car Play may or may not work, etc.) and bigger issues that affect the performance of the car (chassis fault warning resulting in a horrid, rough ride, adaptive cruise control failing to work during long out of state drives, reduced engine power aka the dreaded limp mode, infotainment screen going black so nothing could be controlled - climate, radio, etc.). They had my car for 138 days of the first 11 months I owned it (that's 41% of that time period!!!) and while I had loaners, they were substandard to my car (very slow base model Macan's), and I am a smoker who drives long distances for work and smokes in my car. Very inconvenient to say the least, not to mention all the times they said they would come pick up my car and didn't, or said my car would be ready and it wasn't. They rarely provided updates; my husband or I would have to reach out to get any status updates more often than not. They do not care about their customers at all; the General Manager, Brian Guzy, flatly refused to speak to me or my husband last summer after repeated phone calls and emails to him about our first 5 - 6 months with this car from hell. Marco Rodriguez, the service manager, swore he would over communicate and then failed to deliver on that. We were told Stu Nelson, who I believe is a Sales Manager, would help us get things resolved and stay in communication. After one conversation, he disappeared. I absolutely loved my first Cayenne and I absolutely hate this one. Sad when you're talking about the hefty price tag on these vehicles. I would have expected the sales manager and/or the GM to A) care, B) willingly and repeatedly communicate with me to make things right, and C) offer to get me out of this clearly faulty vehicle and into a different one permanently so they could really figure out / resolve the problem without extreme inconvenience to a customer who has literally spent hundreds of thousands of dollars with them. I guess that is expecting far too much. Fast forward to this year, the annoying stuff continues to happen on at least a bi-weekly basis. This winter, the newest fun surprise was my heated seats wouldn't come on several times when pushing the button and sometimes the A/C seats would come on instead. That's a great feeling during a Midwest winter! I no longer had the energy to deal with them so I just let it all go. Now they picked it up for service this Tuesday as the reduced engine power warning is back. Not only did they completely botch my pick up and try to blame me (their awful communication skills apparently aren't reserved for just their customers but also extend to them not communicating with each other internally), but here it is Friday and I hadn't heard anything until I reached out to them myself.... Again. And again, excuses, excuses. I wonder how many weeks they'll have it this time? This car is a total lemon and I want out! I just want someone to care and make it right, but I think that is very unlikely to happen at this point. To be continued, I'm sure.... read more

When confronting them, they assured us that the key just didn't have battery. Turns out it was a completely different key than the key to my car. Message later about it and said they would look into it and kept saying that for 3 weeks - a month. Even got the manager involved and he said the same thing. After that we went in person to discuss it because at this point they were ignoring our calls and they said "this was too long ago we cannot help you". Now we have to pay for another spare key for hundreds. So to sum it all up, super unprofessional and highly don't recommended. read more

Had very bad experience with Motor werk Infinity sales people, Ali the main manager, Taylor sales manger, and James a sales person. I drove over 5 hours from Michigan to pick up an Audi S8 which i was approved the day before i went to go pick it up. when i arrive to pick up the car, the real scam started, first it was the bank this and that, wasted 6 hours at the dealership. Finally got to test drive the car, come to find out engine air filters missing and vacuum air hoses unsecured. Made a hand shake deal with Ali to buy replacement parts at set price. Drove away and few miles down the road transmission light came on and adaptive air suspension faulty. Ran diagnostic scan and found transmission incorrectly coded! Not did they know that this car had all types of issues, but they also told me it had passed the inspection from the dealership. Really! They didn't just try to scam me, and costed me $600 in rentals and other fees. They put my life in danger when they let me drive off on car with bad transmission and unleveled suspension, i could flipped on highway! They also lied about reimbursing my rental cost. If you like to take a chance on your life, please go see Ali, Taylor, or James they are pros at making sure you will be scammed and also take your life while in the process. read more

Kira has been a lifesaver for us twice now! We originally had Christian Brothers do a diagnostic, and then 4 months later our battery in our QX80 completely died. They told us to tow it over there, and then charge us for a "battery diagnostic fee" plus new battery with no explanation. After a full day, we had to call them & they hadn't even started work on it! I was told later that QX80 have high start draws, and we hadn't driven it for 3 weeks due to illness. So after 3 5 min stop and go trips, the battery died. Side note, someone from Next Door told us to get a battery tender to safely charge our car battery when it's not used much. I called CB to complain about the diagnostic fee, and they never returned my call. IMO, never take your car to CB. They clearly don't care about their customers, and they will take advantage of you if you aren't careful. Enter Kira! We wanted to make sure the car was okay, so not only did she get the car in quickly and finished within less than a day, she made sure we were taken care of because we have a son with Down syndrome who won't go in his dad's car and demands I drive him in mine. So she made sure she got my car back super quick and made it a priority, so that I could drive him to school and back! Then 4 months later, we had a power train issue. At first, we were told they had no loaners. But when I talked to Kira, she told me not to worry about it, and got a QX80 that was acceptable for my son (he needs to approve or else won't get in) so that I could get him to school and therapies. The car was done by the following afternoon. We will never go anywhere else to service our car, and we are indebted to Kira. She will have our loyalty, and we are her customers for life! I leased a 2020 Honda CRV from them. Now the lease was up. We're retired, now 82 years old, and had put extremely low miles on the. car; like 3,200 miles. This week, at the end of the term, Motorwerks told me thatI had a choice to either buy it, for $18,500; or turn it in. I also realized that I was "upside" on the lease meaning that this year/type car was selling for much more on the open market - average $26,000. I called Motorwerks and told them that I wanted to sell the car back to them. They said, bring it in, we'll look at it. I was hoping to get maybe $1,500 back. Once I got there, the sales manager told me that Honda wouldn't allow them to buy the car based on the type of lease I had signed. I drove the car home and called Schaumburg Honda. They said,"Bring it in, if the car is everything you say it is, we'll buy it". They gave me a check for $ 2,164.58 and took the car. No problem, no double talk. Thanks Schaumburg Honda. I recently brought my car in for an oil change and the techs put water in my radiator instead o coolant and water in my windshield fluid instead of cleaning fluid. I came back and informed the manager-Jerry who replied , by yelling and swearing at me and one of his advisors Kelly told me for Fuc$ off. I informed the sales mgr. at Honda, Aron, and Mancin-mgr. Mercedes, Steven Drake , who didn't want hear about my experience and told me for Fuc$ off as well. A month later, I received an email from someone, which I have never spoken with, nor had any communication. SENT ME A THREEATENING EMAIL. Almost as bad as the Bob Rhorman Honda in Schaumburg. My car was there for 2 days and I never heard anything about it. No text or call or email. I called twice to find out what was going on and when I would have it back. The woman I spoke too said it had been ready since the day before. I showed up and the guy looked confused. He said he never heard from me? Whatever that means. Now they lost the key to my car. It's too bad because I used to love Honda. This 2017 civic is nothing but problems that no one wants to talk to me about. The loaner car they gave me was great. I was almost going to ask about upgrading...until they lost my key. Initially you get the impression they're a great business as the Salesman brags how they're relaxed, hassle free environment, with the lowest price point on display for each vehicle so there's no haggling, stress free, with no back and forth negotiations that most people find annoying and avoid during their car buying experience. Instead, please plan for the "smoke and mirrors" treatment. This is the experience we got even being a past customer for 6 years between two cars. They're not forthcoming with their numbers, there's more negotiating than a flea market and it's definitely not a relaxed stress-free environment. It was was the worst experience ever to date. If you want to get taken for a ride, then strap on your seatbelt, hold on tightly because your going to take the drive of your life! I'm forced to contact the Illinois state Attorney General. And I'm grateful that the attorney generals office is interested in helping me get my transaction completed. To me it's unbelievable that a dealership of this magnitude that's been open since 1971 its ownership and management are not completing a simple contract. Too bad all my friends/family bought cars here, after my last experience I decided to buy mine at another bmw , what a comparison on price and service. I am beyond shocked. I introduced my friends that needed cars so we ended up getting 5 cars in 2 months at the other dealer. One bad experience goes a long way. FYI, if you decide to purchase here, CHECK everything on the NEW cars, bcz they dont. If something doesnt work or broken? They say its your fault. Who would of ever thought that? Its a new bmw and mercedez. They care about selling and making money.. not about the customers. I am entitled to my own opinion and this is the sad truth. wanted to get a B service for my MBE350. called to find out cost. no one answered in service. Called back, operator said they were all busy and I could leave a message. I bought my car from there and it will not be going back. I called another MB dealer in my area and they connected me right away to service. Car is going in for the B service and if things go well they will be getting my service from now on. Really bad when you cannot get thru to service department. 2 days later motor werks cadillac service manager called me and asked what I needed. Told him I called for MB service. Stated my problem and told him they lost all future business from me. How bad is the dealership when they have the wrong service people call you back 2 days after you called???? read more
