*1 Year After Purchase Review* I had been in the market to buy a Porsche of some sorts, I couldn't figure out which one met my needs. The 911 is too sporty and not an ideal daily driver, the Cayenne's fuel economy is atrocious, the Panamera felt like a boat to me, but I had finally came across a model that fit my needs.... 2015 Porsche Macan Turbo in Rhodium Silver. This car had every option Macans from that year came with including Sport Chrono and Sport Exhaust (Rare on the 2015 macans). I purchased the car under the understanding that it would be similar to my previous vehicle (2017 MB C63S Sedan) yet everything I've tried to compare I enjoy more in my new car. From the jump, the car is VERY fast, not only that I have since installed an aftermarket Cobb Tuning device and custom ECU Map. My Macan was doing 0-60 in around 4 seconds prior, and is now closer to 3.3 seconds. Absolutely nuts. Anyway, that being said, I would assume my car would break a fair bit and what not because it's a sporty car, but no! No gimmicks, no scams, A+ car off the lot. I've owned the car since January 2023 and we're going on January 2024, I need to change my break pads soon. Other then that I've had an issue with the High Pressure Fuel Pump which took me 3 hours, $200, and some wrenching away to fix. Awesome! I love how these cars are designed without a million quirks and you can perform simple service yourself! Another small issue was I had blown my coolant reservoir, not to worry, I found one for $30 and was able to swap it in 15 minutes! This car has done me nothing but right so far and I'm very happy I chose this dealership to purchase with! Don't waste your time with other dealerships selling junk cars. This place is epic! My salesperson Ian was on point, very nice, professional, and even lowered the price by about $1,000 or so which in todays day and age is pretty commonly known that that is a chunk of the salesman's commission. We need more salespeople willing to get someone out the door happy, over trying to milk people for that extra $500-$1000. It was a very nice experience from the second I sat down and at no point did I feel pressured to purchase the vehicle that day, I chose to which was a very nice feeling. Overall this dealership is a very nice one, and I recommend giving them a try over anyone! read more

. I went in for repairs paid 3700. That didn't fix issues - 2012 cayenne. I was quoted 17000 yes 17k for transmission repair. Overall I spent 9000 in repairs and junked the car a month later. They wouldn't help me and offered 500 for my car. I paid 5k in repairs to them are u kidding. Parts are expensive and some are not replaceable on purpose. Horrible I went bought a lexus instead. More reliable and better service. A person I met bought a porche macan...all bells and whistles. Lasted 5-7 years and she was given 5k for the car. Do not buy porche unless its new. Even then you need to br willing to lose it all. I was told this by a kid working at boot barn near me. Her mom lost a ton on a new macan. This is not a made up story! I purchased a 2022 Toyota tundra from the Barrington Illinois dealership on July 11th of this year. During the deal I noticed damage on the sides of both seats and pointed it out to Boban Filipovic and Ian Higgins when I pointed out this damage, I was promised replacement parts and Boban even offered to have them installed for me if I come down to the dealership. Instead of contacting me further regarding this, they sent me the wrong parts at my house. I contacted them again multiple times after that, when I did, I was told my correct parts will be ordered and they will call us to have them installed. since then, I still have not received any updates concerning them. I talked to Fil Greda and told him the whole story on the phone, he also said he'll get back to us soon, but no one did. We recently had our 2021 Porsche Panamera serviced at Porsche Barrington for a documented cold-weather front suspension noise. The noise issue was resolved under warranty, and we appreciate that. However, during the repair it was noted that both front axle shafts were seized due to corrosion and were reused. We had reasonable questions about long-term reliability, including whether spline conditioning, anti-seize application, and hub bearing inspection were performed to prevent repeat failure as none of this was documented on the paperwork we received. Our concern was not about the immediate repair. It was about future durability once the vehicle is out of warranty. When we contacted the dealership to ask for clarification, both Kevin Sutor, the service advisor and Frank Farenzena, the service manager were dismissive. Rather than addressing the technical concerns directly or offering documentation, the conversation became defensive with Frank ending the call abruptly. We were not requesting free work or disputing the repair outcome. We were asking reasonable, informed questions about preventative measures on a premium vehicle. The repair may meet minimum technical standards, but the handling of legitimate customer concerns did not reflect the level of professionalism we expect from a Porsche dealership. Purchased a used Audi in August of 2024 and by January of 2025 it had catastrophic engine failure and could only be scraped for parts at only 80K miles. Clean Carfax and ownership history. My husband and I are static with the service and treatment we receive at this dealership. Ashley Clements is amazing and very knowledgeable with Porsche. This is our second visit and we have never experienced any problems. Plus we love the fact that they have a Starbucks station on the second floor in the show room floor. Clean facility and they maintain the restroom areas clean and fresh. Plus there are plenty of snacks and waters to enjoy while you wait, making the waiting process a pleasant one. We bought our 2021 Mercedes GLA 4matic from here last month. The odd thing about it is that we live in Austin Texas and this is up near Chicago! Sharon did a great job answering all of my questions and walking me through the process. We opted to fly to Chicago and take a road trip back to Texas (this is a GREAT way to get to know your car fast BTW). They picked us up from the train station and drove us to the dealership. They have an amazing dealership. In the MW complex there is a Starbucks where you get your first coffee free and then it works on a points system. You can also find dealerships for Mercedes and BMW there as well. The in house shop allows them to take care of problems quickly and easily. There was a small problem with the vehicle and they gave us a loaner for the day while they trouble shot the usbc port for us. Overall it was a great experience. After being repeatedly let down by two other Porsche dealerships, it was refreshing to find Ashley Clement and the service department at Motor Werks Porsche Barrington. I have had a relationship with the Motor Werks Auto Group that goes back for some time now, having purchased a Mercedes-Benz vehicle from what was then one of their Hoffman Estates locations. I had considered bringing my Napleton-purchased 2017 Porsche Cayenne S to Motor Werks but was reluctant because it was too far from my Evanston location to justify it. That reluctance was quite misplaced, as I'd find out in my fruitless encounters with the service departments at Loeber Porsche and the Exchange Porsche. I started having trouble with an extended crank at start-up in my 2017 Porsche Cayenne S in late 2019 at around 24k miles and 2 years in-service. I did not think much of it initially. It was pointed out to me by a service advisor at Loeber Porsche as a concern. Ironically, Loeber concluded that there was nothing wrong and returned the vehicle to me. After that experience, I reluctantly decided to take it to the Exchange in Highland Park--seeing if they could redeem themselves after a few epic fails with their Audi dealership. At first, it seemed like they cared and knew what they were doing. Unfortunately, after numerous return visits, one of which resulted in a cover-up of damage they'd done to the vehicle in the process of their 'fix,' I concluded that my trust in them was entirely misplaced. Over the past year, I'd started to become enormously frustrated with my Cayenne S and the Porsche brand. However, after getting two recommendations and hearing some high praise for Ashley Clement via Yelp and Rennlist, I decided to make an appointment. From my initial meeting with Ashley, I came away confident that Motor Werks would be working hard to resolve my concerns. Their technician identified a previously unknown oil leak, cleaned up the trim, and tried to repair the rear bench seat that had been obviously damaged/disturbed by the Exchange. They initially returned the vehicle to me saying that the extended crank was normal. I was frustrated but began to accept that maybe it was "normal"? After all, Porsche brakes squealing like a lorry is "normal" too! However, their repair to the rear bench seat was inadequate, and the extended crank seemed to continue to worsen. They picked up the vehicle from my house, and after about a week and a half, my vehicle was returned to me in nearly as good as new condition. The extended crank seems to be gone after they replaced what amounts to the entire fuel system, the noise from the rear bench is minimal, and to my surprise, they clearly refinished the steering wheel where the leather coloring had faded. My partner had forbidden me from ever getting another Porsche after this experience. However, while my faith might not be completely restored, I think that Porsche Barrington and Ashley have done a lot to get me back on the right track to enjoying my Cayenne S and the Porsche experience. Out of my experiences with Loeber, the Exchange, and Motor Werks, Motor Werks Porsche Barrington is above and beyond the rest. read more

They provided a plus service from start to finish they even let me test drive the car even though I look relatively young. They did not judge me right away which was nice compared to other dealerships. They greeted me at the door in the salesman actually knew my name before I even was able to introduce myself. I spoke to someone on the phone saying I was going to come in to take a look at the car and he already knew how I look. I told them I wanted to purchase the car but I would have to come back Monday and they held the car for me without a deposit which was nice. The process from A to B it is he was hassleless. Like Sam M, my last experience here was unbelievable, and NOT in a good way. I took my Cayenne to Porsche of Barrington to have them check an undercarriage panel that was seemingly out of place/misaligned. The vehicle was still under full original factory warranty. Kevin, my service advisor, was quick to dismiss the dealership performing what turned out to be a very simple fix. He brought Gene the tech out and they basically "body shamed" my 2019 Cayenne, suggesting it may have been in an accident. Then stated he would have to check with his manager Marco to see if they could spend the entire 5 minutes it took to fix. Are you kidding me? There was/is no evidence to even remotely suggest the car had been in an accident. Total and complete Nonsense. Clean car fax, 1 owner, yada, yada, yada...No damage whatsoever. My service advisor called me SIX days later and said they could not help me?! Unbeknownst to him, I took the car to another Porsche dealer the next day (no appointment because I was leaving on a trip and made that clear to Barrington Porsche) and the other dealer had me in and out in 45 MINUTES! BTW, They saw no evidence of any damage to the car. Simple Fix! They were great. Do yourself and your German Car a favor! Your car and YOU, deserve to be treated with respect. BTW, I had just spent $2500 at Porsche of Barrington on the Porsche I traded, then an additional $800 on a cargo roller shade, a cargo area matt, and all new all weather floor matts, not to mention the previous service I had done on my Panamera as well. Are you kidding me?! How disheartening to treat what was a loyal customer this way. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!! As an Honorably Discharged Veteran, I am in shock that I would be treated like a second class citizen by this pompous service advisor. I wonder if Mick A. This is the first time I have written a review for any business-but the service I was provided, now compels me to tell others. I have owned many Porsche cars-including but not limited to the Carrera GT, GT 2 RS and the 918. I shopped the market for a Taycan 4S and found the one I wanted (color combo and options) far from Los Angeles, where I live. The car was transported to me and arrived with a broken sunroof. It was clearly not the fault of Barrington Porsche, but rather an issue during the transport. I found the email for Brian Guzy, the general manager and wrote to him. He was immediately responsive and gave me the option to return the car or that Barrington Porsche would make all the arrangements for the replacement of the glass sunroof at the expense of Barrington Porsche. I really wanted the car and I opted for the replacement. Brian had his service manager, Marco, locate the necessary replacement parts and they arranged for me to take the car to a local Porsche dealer. The car was in fact perfectly repaired and the glass replaced at a substantial cost. It was never even suggested that I pay anything. I am a happy customer. As an attorney, I recognize the difference in various car dealers throughout the country , as I have had interaction with many of them on other car transactions. Barrington Porsche and its general manager are of the highest integrity and did whatever they were asked (and did it fast). When I was told that "customer satisfaction" is what they strive for, I thought that "talk is cheap" and I have heard that before. But, in this instance "actions spoke louder than words." All of us have heard horror stories as they relate to car dealers, but let me tell you-that these people are in a class of their own. I would not hesitate to deal with them (despite the cross country) issues that are apparent in any transaction. I have told Brian that he should not hesitate to provide my contact information to any prospective customer who for any reason, had not decided to go with Barrington (Motorwerks). Aside from addressing my issues and not trying to shift the blame or to put me in the middle, Brian made it clear that he would do whatever it took to get me what I wanted and deserved-and he did all he said. Barrington Porsche is indeed, fortunate to have an executive such as Brian in its employ. I have no doubt that others who read this best of the best review, will have the same positive experience I have had and will likely add to the positive reviews, I have read regarding this dealership.
