Excellent RV park with a super nice pool, huge lake, great views... the park is beautiful, well maintained, clean. The staff has been great. Sites have shade. They are gravel sites but they are flat. Roads are paved so there is not dust. The WIFI actually works! One of the nicer places we have stayed in our 44 state adventure. read more

If you're lucky enough to score a level site right by the lake, you'll likely enjoy your stay. However, the campground is heavily crowded & packed with families, meaning you'll be sharing a pretty small pool with a ton of kids. The sites are also gravel and not paved. :( I planned to do some hiking on their trail, but multiple warning signs about alligators and venomous snakes to be wary of completely turned me off from exploring. On the plus side, the location itself is excellent, with plenty of restaurants and stores (including a Costco, Trader Joe & Walmart) nearby. They are also really good at picking up your garbage bags throughout the day. read more

This KOA was one of our favorites! As always, the employees were awesome and so welcoming. We ordered fire wood and it was delivered before we even walked back to our site! The cabin was awesome to still get a camping experience even during the winter. They have a huge dog park which was nice. I will say- these were the cleanest bathrooms I've ever been in! Nice campground. My complaint is we are a couple and we were put by all the activity center for kids. We were staying for a week and the kids ran all around for the most part unsupervised. The kids and adults were always cutting thru our campsite. The one group was out next to us until 2 in the morning. The management did not monitor the rules. read more

We have at stayed at several KOA's over the USA. I have to say this is the first one that delivers pizza to your site. The first one that has left a post card taped to our picnic table the night before we leave. Thanking us for staying with them saying safe travels and happy camping! Reminder with the time of check out on the card also. First time I have seen the code to the electronic gate on the back of the mirror tag so if your locked out it is right with you. I loved this place, the people, site we had was level, grass mowed and to top it off a quilt shop very easy to get to from the KOA. I want to come back but live too far away. Great Job You Guys. Make Memories NOW! Cleanest camp ground we have ever been to , spacious camping spots , helpful and friendly staff ! Off the hook, special events at holidays!! We are locals but chose to book at this KOA because we heard their July 4 celebration was off the charts . And can I tell you it did not disappoint. We have a 19 foot travel trailer and we booked a site with full hook ups. There was plenty of room for our gazebo as well as a giant canopy, lots of seating ,and we were not on top of our neighbors. There were so many activities that your kids can do. It was endless fun for the kids . As a parent, It was very comforting to know that my son was safe navigating and exploring the campgrounds because it's in a very private area. We explored the bike trails, hiking trails, and they were very clean and cleared out of debris . We did choose to rent some fun little bikes, as well as a paddle boat for shits and giggles . The small lake there is a gorgeous and very peaceful. The campground itself is pristine, the restrooms, the trash cans, the public swings everything was clean . Not only was the staff kind and helpful. They were super fun as well. There were so many activities planned for July 4. I can't count them all. So many campgrounds, nickel, and dime you want everything and stack the campers in like sardines. This KOA campground was top notch had very reasonable and fair prices. We have already booked again for next year . If you are from out of town, you'll enjoy how close local beaches are as well as downtown. There's also a Charleston fun park that you could walk to including a putt putt little go karts and tons of arcade games for the kids. The fireworks over the lake were lit, pun intended . It was an amazing show and plenty of room for everyone to see. We did bring our dog and there was plenty of places for him to walk as well as a very spacious dog park . When we were at the pancake breakfast, we overheard other guest saying that this KOA was one of the cleanest KOA that they've ever stayed at . I have to agree. Will we see you there next year ? We stayed here with our son and his family during a baseball tournament. They have a gate you need a code for after 7pm. Found the campground to be very clean. The sites are a good size. Some have concrete patios and others don't. You will find a picnic table and firepit at each site. My only negative is there isnt enough signage around leading people to the exit. Also at this KOA you'll find cabin rentals, a pool, recreation center, campers kitchen, playgrounds, a small water play area, ice machines, bikes you can rent, kayak rentals, paddle boat rentals, a small store in the bldg you check in. They have 2 good size ponds that you can fish and a nature trail. The campground is close to a Walmart, McDonalds, Paneta Bread and more. We really enjoyed our time here. read more

We LOVED this campground. We were here in July and no bugs were biting us. I think it is because there is a small colony of bats that come out in the late evening. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Jenny and Lisa really did go over the top for us. Thank You. Thanks to the guys that led us in and gave us our jumper cables too. Jenny gave me names of where to eat like Hyman's Seafood. There the historic restaurant was delicious. We didn't have to pay for parking because it was on a Sunday. We took our teens to Tanger. It was not over priced like some. We also loved Orlando's Pizza. They had garlic knots that were amazing and 18" pizza 's. Yummy. They also gave us a router to help with our signal. We have not ever been camping and that given to us. The lake here has many fish and turtles. We saw at least 10 kids catching all weekend. They have a catch and release rule so we don't have to cook. We loved Folly Beach.The water is warm and we could pay a park right across from the pier. They have food there and a store. ave to cook. It was beautiful property. We also looked online at the cabins. They have all been updated and are beautiful on the inside. We were able to leave our trash by the road so we didn't have to find a dumpster. Awesome KOA...beautiful setting on a lake and convenient to get anywhere in Charleston. The staff is friendly and amazing!!! Their hospitality is above and beyond. We enjoyed free candy bar bingo one evening and popcorn, cake, and other snackies/goodie while watching Harry Potter in the recreation room. The waffles, fruit, coffee, juice and sausage breakfast were delicious for $5. The staff picked up our trash as soon as we put it out to the curb. They escorted us to our site and moved the picnic table for us. They even left a photo postcard on our camper door thanking us for staying with them! Loved that they are doing a cookbook to sell to campers to support the KOA care camps for children battling cancer. They requested recipes from campers. One of the best KOA's we have been to and we have experienced quite a few through the years. for sure!!! read more

Third stay here with family. Great location- 20 mins from Charleston, 15 from Isle of Palms beach and just up the road from Patriot's Point. Cabins appear to have been remodeled since we were here last - fresh concrete patios with patio swing, picnic table, bench and two Adirondack-style chairs around a firepit. The deluxe cabin comfortably holds 4 if you don't care much about privacy. The main room holds a queen bed, small table and chairs and kitchenette with mini fridge and microwave. Small room off the main room holds a set of bunk beds. It has a sliding door that can be closed, but ours was stuck open. Bathroom was small - only one person at a time can fit - but it contains a full tub/shower combo. Lots of windows make it bright and airy. They have a lot of rules about cars, visitors and noise, which is nice, because the place is always quiet and peaceful. Very dog-friendly, easy to book online and staff was friendly. I took off a star for the following complaints: Cabins need storage space for clothes. Keeping clothing in a suitcase all week = wrinkly wardrobe. Staff need to bring by clean linens regularly - you have to call the front and ask for fresh sheets and towels. If you're staying for a week, I think they should bring by linens at least once, and take away the used ones. I know it's not a hotel and I don't expect daily turn-down service, but for what I pay to stay here, fresh linens mid-week wouldn't be too much of an ask. Finally, more outdoor trash cans/dumpster areas. They have plenty of pet poop disposal bins, which is great. Would be nice to be able to take my trash out just as easily as I can clean up after my dog. Overall, nice family-and-dog-friendly place to enjoy a Lowcountry vacation. read more

Overall a pleasant experience at this KOA. I've stayed here several times. Mostly in a camping cabin, on the lake. These cabins have a full bathroom and queen size bed. Beds are comfortable. There is a moderate refrigerator and a microwave. The space is really only room enough for 2 young skinny adult's or a normal size adult. There is a set of bunk beds & linens. Nice patio, fire pit and chairs outside. 1 tv with cable channels. A Keurig with coffee pods. I always bring my own small coffee maker. Everything a person needs, but very small cabin. There is no table or chair on the inside of cabin. Checkin time is 4pm and checkout time is 11am. read more

The nature trails and dog park was great. We really enjoyed staying here. The staff were super nice and waving when we would walk by. The sites were clean and trash would be picked up as soon as we put it out. Lots of workers and they were blowing off leaves to cleaning bathhouses to whatever needed done. You could tell they took pride in the place. They had a security gate and that allowed us to rest easier knowing we were safer. Great place! Would come back again!! read more

We Made our reservation and drove several hours to be told they wouldn't accept us because of our Rottweiler dog. The KOA book says pets accepted and nothing about Breed restrictions so frustrating. Black dogs matter! Our dog is trained well and it should be illegal to restrict on breeds just because of some bad apples. Any dog can bite and our dog has been through extensive training and is a great dog. So if you have a dog breed with a bad rap you won't be staying here. read more

LOL This place is nuts. We used to go to KOA often as kids to camp with friends (obviously) or do various GirlScout things. I had fond memories of this place. I have no idea what happened...is it under new ownership or management or...who is to blame for the way this place is running? If you enter the park, expect to be chased down by a man in a yellow shirt driving a golf cart. This may sound fun, but let me tell you they are not messin' in this place. Register your car! You can't drive in here! Six people to a campsite! ...I'm sorry, what? Where is the fun? I was waiting for him to 'citizen arrest' me. Don't get me wrong, I understand that they want it to be a safe place. But no one was speeding, no one was hoopin' and hollerin', etc. And the people staying in the cabin next door agreed with our confusion. The grounds are 7/10 for the landscape and the lake is nice. But I didn't meet one nice human being. They charge $5/body for parking (doesn't matter if you are visiting for an hour or if you are staying, you better pay UP.) I was going to drop off my parents at a friend's cabin on the lake...I left my car ON to get out and say hello...and guess who was waiting to exclaim, "you can't just drive on the property without paying!" Okay so at this point we are more focused on my $5 than my business in the future. I'll tell you, they won't be getting either of those. Rant over. Don't camp here. read more

This place is awesome! Hands down the very best off leash dog park of any campground I have ever stayed at. Great pool, fun activities and only 20 minutes to downtown Charleston. The cable and internet were both down due to a previous camper who drove a stake into the ground (despite clear communications not to do so) but this world has so many people who think rules are for everyone else, so these things are bound to happen and the office discounted our stay. It did not really matter as I don't watch TV while camping and have my own hot spot for internet, but those around us were very upset. Very friendly staff greeted us each day and we felt so at home here. Nice, large pull through sites for a Class A with a Jeep...and some were on the water ! read more

This place is an absolute gem! The best campground we have ever been to! Staff was wonderful, campground is beautiful, amenities are fantastic! And the price is right! Great bathrooms and showers, so many activities for the whole family, set on a historic plantation you can go visit by walking path or hayride, and a great store with all the amenities and food you might need. Also free coffee! They even pick up your garbage bags right from your campsite. And it's set on a beautiful lake. I highly recommend it! Had a really great weekend! The park was gorgeous and the staff went over and beyond! Steve was amazing!! Very insightful, answered all of our questions. Even delivered everything we needed right to our room!! Even drove around the park to notify of a upcoming thunderstorm right before we opened our last bundle of wood!! Our 3 kids tie-dyed shirts with help from Steve and another amazing activity Lady who were very patient and hands on with all 3 of our cranky kids ( 6 hour car ride lol ). Chose this campground since it was near Isle of Palm for a wedding we attended. We were pleasantly surprised at how organized and nice it was overall. Even though it rained the majority of the weekend, we enjoyed the cleanliness of the bathrooms (they are enclosed stalls without windows so the steam warms up the room pretty fast) and our site, which was close to the creek in the back and quiet overall. We would stay here again. (we stayed 4 days). read more

We stayed here for three days in March and really enjoyed our stay. The RV park is pretty standard, full hookups, cable, and *gasp* WiFi that works! Our space was on the 'B' row and it was pretty quiet. The laundry room was small, but adequate and clean. The playground was decent. The dog run was amazing, simply one of the best. I have two complaints. The first is they don't offer a weekly rate (normally one day free), the second is the daily rate is just expensive. We would have stayed for a whole week, but at $59 a day it just was not worth it to extend our stay. Would I recommend this park? Absolutely. Would we come back? Yes. My wife and I drove two days to visit for our niece's wedding in Charleston, South Carolina. We were so excited for an opportunity to get out of the house and spend a bit of time with my wife's sister and niece. When we entered the campground to register, a malcontent wearing a name tag "Wilson" started yelling at me because I wouldn't agree to pay $8.00 a day extra to have our niece "possibly" visit us for an hour or two while we were there. He said it had to be paid immediately, and he needed her car, make, model, and license plate. At that point I could not answer the questions, nor was I willing to pay over $50 for my niece to visit. So he purposely and proudly canceled our reservation, flung the cancelled receipt into our vehicle, and would not even budge when I called the police. The officer tried to convince this malcontent to come to some agreement, but alas, this bully smilingly sent two 70 year old tired and upset individuals off into the pandemic-laden wilderness without any prearranged options for us to stay in a different campground. But of course, why would he care? He won the battle. In my judgment as a psychologist, a business manager should act professionally at all times, and should help smooth out issues, not purposely create issues, which is precisely what he did. And all of this so he could make a few extra bucks off of us. I will call corporate and share my aversive and troubling experience with this individual. I will also do everything within my power to continue to make others aware of the extent to which this deviant individual purposely angered and ruined a day in the lives of two elderly individuals who were simply trying to spend some time with their niece whose wedding we traveled two days to enjoy with her. Of course he will blame this ENTIRE event on me, acknowledging absolutely no contribution on his part; but after seeing him in action, I have little doubt that will be the case. I suppose if you have no need to interact with this individual regarding any issues, that you might perhaps enjoy your stay. On the other hand, be prepared to deal with an individual who only regards himself as the boss, and an individual who cares absolutely nothing about you or your family. I did nothing that in my mind justified his hateful and childish impulsive tantrum towards my dear wife and me. read more

It's like visiting a traveling fair. You know where everyone that works there hates every customer and they're all on METH? The guy who drives the wagon to the plantation was cool, and informative, outside of that the staff is impatiently waiting for the next rip off the pipe or chesterfield. It's my understanding that this KOA is privately owned and not part of the national chain. The corporation should visit this site and remove the KOA name. My family and I have driven across the country 2 summers in a row and stayed at a handful of KOA. This site compares none I do not recommend it. read more

This place is going downhill fast. The "coming soon splash pad" sign has been up for well over a year. there's really nothing to do there for the kids. The have disc golf, but no one actually plays it. The boat rentals were very expensive per hour. The pool was closed for maintenance our entire trip. No planned activities, as a matter of fact, being out and about seems to be frowned on. My daughter got reprimanded for riding her bike at 9:45, because it was going to be quiet hours soon and a worker told her to go home. She came in the door almost in tears. We heard several stories of how rude some of the yellow shirts guys were from other guests. Left a bad impression and we won't be back. This place is not your typical KOA and a disappointment. The property is clean, pretty with a great location, but that's about it. read more

A nice KOA with the camping feel that you get to enjoy but still close to all of the hot spots in Charleston. The park has a nice lake with fishing, boating, etc. as well as the normal KOA amenities. The sites are gravel, but flat and most are long enough for a full size rig and a tow vehicle. They park offers cable and their wifi worked most of the time. You pay a little extra at a KOA, but you typically get a decent park with lots of activities for the family and a good atmosphere. This park is no exception. We will stay here again when in the area. My family and I have very fond memories of KOA since the last time we visited, but the experience we had this past weekend was unacceptable. The staff members all seem like they hate their jobs, they're rude, they will hunt you down for just about anything you do, and they are just plain annoying. We went into the office to get visitor parking passes, after being harassed by a guy in a yellow shirt on a golf cart, and the short lady behind the desk had woken up on the wrong side of the bed that morning (and the whole weekend actually). The bathrooms are disgusting, and the pool is dirty and not well kept. There's a horrible ant problem in pretty much all of the lots, so make sure you bring your own ant killer for your own lot. The prices for cabins and lots are ridiculous. Our family friends had a small lot with tree roots all over the ground, no power source, and an ant infestation. It was WAY too expensive for all of the issues it had. Like I said, we used to have awesome experiences at this location, but we will not be returning after this weekend. It's cheaper to stay in a hotel, the hotel staff will FOR SURE be nicer and less annoying, and at least you won't have ant bites all over your body when you leave. Just my two cents lol read more

Worst place ever. The staff was rude the manager Jackie Jackson was unprofessional. This place is not kid friendly at all. They accuse kids of all sorts of things and cant keep their stories straight. They sell light up rockets then when you go to use them at night they tell you you cant because its quiet time. A camper beside us had 2 people stuck inside and their 2 daughters stuck outside because door would not open. The staff told them they had 5 minutes to figure it out or we would all be kicked out because we were making to much noise and it was quiet time. We tried to explain that there was no way the daughters could get into the camper and they said it was not an emergency they could figure it out in the morning. I have been to many camp grounds this was by far the worst. If you are smart you will not go here!!!!! read more

We came from New Jersey for the eclipse, but found the nicest camp ground ever. We've stayed at a lot of camp grounds over the past 7 years, but this has absolutely been the nicest. It is totally clean. It has a very large lake for boating and fishing. There is a very well marked and maintained nature trail. The facilities were always clean as if they were cleaned every hour or so. The entire staff were terrific and willing to go out of their way to make our stay pleasant. Even when we were too late for garbage pickup, one of the guys came by to help. And LUCY was a gem. She went out of her way to give us the best experience possible - and it was the best experience. The only negative I found was that the pool is quite small. But still, in spite of being sold-out, it was never crowded. Normally, I couldn't have imagined coming back to South Carolina on vacation, but now we have a favorite camp ground. read more

Great campground. The lots near the lake and cabins are terrific, those back further in the park are a bit close together. I pull a large fifth wheel and the roads are easy to navigate and give no problems coming or going. Even the entrance to the park is well marked with a large lighted sign. Lots are level, gravel, and well maintained. The staff is great, very friendly and helpful. I had no problems during my eight night stay. Plenty of shopping and restaurants within just a couple miles of the campground. The cable TV signal is weak, off air isn't much better. The wifi signal strength was great, unfortunately the service was not good. Often times no connection to the internet even with full connection to the wifi towers. The only other downside is the bugs! Bring your bug spray. The gnats and no-see-ums were thick in February, I can't imagine mosquito season. One more note, when you leave if you take a left at the four way stop you can go around behind the wall-mart and get a traffic light to turn left onto Hwy 17. Turning left off the campground entrance road can be quite a challenge in a big rig. For what it's worth, site 12, 13, and 14 are the best in the park. read more

We just spent 6 nights at this KOA with our homemade RV. We have no real complaints with our stay. The staff was super friendly and readily available to answer questions or offer assistance. Steve and Joseph were both especially helpful and entertaining. Lots of organized activities and easy access to area attractions around Charleston. Truly in love with this campsite. Me and my family come here every year for Mother's Day. I think this year will be year 8, and we always have a blast. Since all of us kids are pretty much adults now, this is such an awesome way for us to all come together as a family and have fun. We rent boats, go biking through the beautiful trails, there is even a dog park for our dog. I can say we truly look forward to this trip every year. 10/10 recommend! read more

Staff was completely rude. Paid for the premium spots. Heavy equipment running around kids all day on spots that were rented. We watched the staff throw rugs off of a small grass patch between the concrete pad and the rv. People were using them to keep dirt out of the rv and staff ripped it up and threw it to the side. We talked with the older couple as they were not there and they were told to remove it. When asked to talk with the manager. They would not give us the information or name. There was dog poop everywhere and the amount of biting bugs were out of control. Nothing had been used to keep them to a minimum. This is not a kid friendly place as the night shift older man yelled at the kids at 930 for riding bikes while the rule wasn't to be until 10. If you look at the information on their site they have more independent rules than any other KOA. Take a look for yourself and see that this is true. We believe in safety for everyone but this place is out of control. The grass they are trying to protect is dead or dormant. Highly recommend you find another place to spend quality family time as this will be an unpleasant experience. read more

Everything you would expect from a KOA - friendly staff, good facilities, nice sites. The location is spectacular - just a few miles to Isle of Palms, but also lots to do right there on the grounds.
