Beautiful course, the course is mountian course off the highway. Highway is the one negative as it is very noisy when you stop and realize it. Otherwise you will be in a very relaxing game of golf. A bit challenging as some of the holes are more narrow for amateur golfers. read more

I can't believe I've not written a review for this amazing golf course! I've played here 5 times in two years and enjoy both the lake and canyon course. It takes some local knowledge to navigate the terrain but the beauty of the canyon, especially in the fall, is breathtaking. The cafe males bomb breakfast sandwiches and the crew is engaging and provides excellent customer service. Bring an extra sleeve or two if you're not breaking 90. Oh, the club pro is the most gregarious person I've ever met. He is always talking with someone. I've not seen him in a year and he waved hello. Not sure if he remembered me or was just waving hello. It's a muni and not a private country club. I've played both amd Mountain Dell is a great track. Thanks! read more

The Canyon course is immaculate and adds in an extra amount of fun for the consistent 71-80 golfers. The ginger pro shop guy is simply the worst employee on the fleet, poor communication skills, not professional, not welcoming, lacks proper customer service. He argued with me as I was checking in. Talked down to me like he is just the man. He is, he works at a public golf course and thinks he's the lord emperor. The young guys deserve to greet people, not him, he's probably been there too long and never moved up. Poor example. After him stating his epic argument status I could only think "is this guy for real?" just let me check-in and pay. That's hard for him to understand. I made a poor decision asking him where the carts and Canyon course start was only to be met with disrespect and negligence. For some reason, every course I've ever played in Scotland, Mexico, France, and anywhere in Utah and Vegas, Ive never been treated in such a manner. None of those people have "bad days" alike whatever this dude is going through. Not trying to be a Karen, but I do remember that interaction more than the pretty epic round of golf. Get him out and let the young bucks take the reins. I worry he'll treat the wrong guy the same way he treated me. Do better. Best public course I've played in Utah in the 10 years Ive been here and can't wait to spend my money and play again soon! So worth it! read more

Located about halfway between Salt Lake City and Park City, Mountain Dell is a great place to play if you want to step outside of the city. It's got some beautiful views and you might catch a glimpse of deer, moose, or other wildlife if you're lucky. MD has two 18-hole courses, Canyon and Lake. Both are pretty fun, but challenging--several holes on both courses are narrow and have brush and groves of trees that gobble up golf balls if you aren't accurate off the tee. Both courses seem to be in pretty good shape too. The greens run pretty fast and true, but the one downside to that is since many greens aren't leveled (and match the slope of the canyon), pin placements can be on ridges which make it difficult to stop putts close to the hole, even when your speed is good. The Canyon Course, as the name might imply, works it's way up, then back down Parley's Canyon, giving it a lot of elevation change. It's walkable, but not for the faint of heart--you'll be pretty tired by the end. Last time I checked, the Lake Course isn't walkable; it's more flat than the Canyon side, but features a group of holes across the road near the reservoir that make for an over 1/2 mile walk between green and tee box when you come back to the main course area, so MD requires carts to keep the pace of play up. MD is one of those courses that I come up to play once or twice a year. It's not my favorite, but it's decent golf that's a bit different than many of the other city-owned courses. read more

I'm here golfing 18 tee time at 2:10 we hit the first 9 and was hoping we could get some food at the snack shop and it's closed. And they have no water stations or drinking fountains on the course. This is not okay for what we pay for this yellow mid green course . Be better read more

Great views of the mountains and the canyon at Mountain Dell. We even saw a deer hiding in the bush! The golf cart we picked was extremely fast (and fun). Probably the fastest Golf cart ever! There are two different areas to play golf:lakeside and canyon. We accidentally booked the canyon, but it worked out. Discounts are provided if you go to the later times which we did. It came out to $60 playing at 9 hole course at 430pm, 2 players, 1 golf cart. Definitely worth it if you don't mind the afternoon heat. Course is well maintained. I wish there were bathroom stops along the way to avoid losing your "spot" on the course. I mention this because I've search through those bushes for my ball and found some stinky matter. read more

Snack bar is standard bar food, staff is are kids home for summer, and carts work well. A clean, straightforward city course. read more

I've only gone once and played the 18 hole canyon course it was very enjoyable the fairways are open on holes needed to be but not too open where you find a ball from another hole on your fairway just the right amount very beautiful course not too much "canyon" other then like one hole and this might just be knit picking it but like 15 of the 18 holes as far as scenery look basically the same not saying that's necessarily a bad thing but me and my friend we aren't too good but got paired up with two other guys that were fun too play with but definitely recommend this course am exited to play the lake course and compare but if your a beginner or amateur definitely recommend this course and price was good read more

Course is not worth it at all. But besides the point whoever's is in the office needs to be more aware or they either need a system update. Booked a tee time few weeks ago and went into the pro shop legitimately paid and everything. Golfed the whole 18 holes on lake side then few days later I get charged for $160 no show fee. I end up finally getting a hold of their office after them not answering a few times and they try telling me I never showed for my tee time which is a complete lie. I went into the pro shop and even bought a few beverages before the round and they're trying to tell me I never showed. I tried figuring it out with them by even emailing receipts in and they still declined saying basically there's nothing I can do because the system says I never showed. Went to dispute it with my credit card company and they even still decline. The golf course is not worth it especially for a $160 no show fee and the management is a joke. Will never be back again due to paying for an entire $70 round and still getting charged $160 on top of that for a no show fee. Absolutely got scammed out of $160 and they weren't even willing to help resolve it. Never golf here and if you do never put your card down for a tee time before golfing. Course office management are scammers and will take your money. read more

Course has beautiful scenery, however found the morning staff to be rude and inconsistent at best. The group in front of us had backed up the holes multiple times with us waiting to tee off but then they came to our hole and told us to hurry up. We were generally confused and mentioned if they talked to the group ahead of us because we had been waiting on them multiple times and the golf Marshall insisted he was talking to us. I was like sure but your hardly solving the root of the issue. He was a complete moron. We won't be golfing here anymore. read more

I like this golf course and have golfed here many times for tournaments and for pleasure. It is challenging for me, but not so difficult that I don't enjoy the game. This visit happened to be for a tournament and I ended up winning the longest drive and a new TaylorMade 5 wood, so I wasn't too sad about my game. I would recommend this course to anyone looking for a fun day either on the Canyon or the Lake courses. The interesting thing is that our tournament filled both 18 hole courses, which is unusual, but not many course can accommodate that big of a group. They also have a strategically located snack shack that we hit just perfectly when we needed more drinks and snacks. I'll definitely be back again. read more

This location was a profound disappointment, there is trash all over and the course was not well maintained. One of the ponds was drained and looked disgusting. I only saw 2 groundskeepers the entire time. If you are from out of town looking to golf, go to Wasatch, the mountain course is magnificent. read more

Blows my mind to see some of these bad reviews. I played today and it was so much fun. The views were ridiculous. I played the Lake Course and plan on playing the Canyon Course in the near future. Someone mentioned rude groundskeepers; I had a run in with a few and they were nice as can be. They stopped mowing until I was finished with my shot. Yes, maybe the paths need a little attention, but the paths are only near the tee boxes. The tee boxes were perfectly level. The price is just right, unfortunately some people are petty. read more

The course is beautiful but don't play here unless you like to spend your day sitting and watching others play. We like to watch golf, but I'd rather do that on my couch, not on the course. They overbook tee times and you'll have two parties on the course, one on the tee box and another in the hole. If they aren't overbooking then this course attracts the slowest golfers. I think we averaged 20 minutes per hole. Not good when you have dinner reservations at the hottest joint in town. We have been to all the city courses and they are all the same. Overbooked, maybe to make more money. Again it's a beautiful course but an absolute waste of your day. read more

Two years ago, I frequently played golf here. The course was well groomed, and most important, there was a family friendly environment that invited us to linger after each round. Recently I visited this course and noticed that the staff is no longer accommodating and too much emphasis was placed on getting my money . Usually new and dysfunctional management creates an environment that treats everyone like they are only a dollar sign. Bring the former employees and managers back. read more

Summary: - Course in good condition - Fast pace of play Explanation: Played this course on Labor Day. Overall, it was a good 18 holes. The course management schedules groups very well so their is a consistent pace of play with very little wait time - we had very few times where we were waiting for anyone. We finished the 18 holes in 4 hours (a half hour earlier than what is standard). The course is in very good condition, especially for a county course. It has been taken care of very well; however, it doesn't meet Murray Parkway's standards, which is why this review doesn't get 5 stars. Keep this course on your list of courses to play. This course needs major updating. Most of all of the tee boxes are very un level. It seems like your feet are always below your ball. They also need to fix all of their cart paths. It's like riding on a 4x4 road. Hopefully they get to updating this year as they charge you full pop to play. read more

It is a fun course. I played on a Saturday at 11:00 am and had no wait and nobody pushing behind us on the mountain course. The course was in pretty good shape. Some fun holes, i think the longest was 400 yrds. I will say after playing Wasatch Mountain's mountain course I was a little disappointed in Mountain Dell. The first 9 holes i honestly didn't feel like i was on a mountain course. That being said i would probably go back if i could get cheaper rates. It was not worth $49 for 18. If they have a night time rate, play then! read more
