We have had and enjoyed pizza at Mountain Mike's in the Before Times (before pandemic, before shutdowns, before masks, before distancing, before . . . ). Tonight was the first time we have had Mountain Mike's pizza in over a year and the first time we have used delivery. It was inedible. The dough was not fully baked and the red sauce left a bad after-taste. Everyone who had a piece found it distasteful. I paid $36 for a 12" pizza much of which ended up in the trash as everyone scrounged the kitchen looking for something to change the taste. Without a doubt, the worst excuse for a pizza I, personally, have ever had. (And, despite having included the tip in our order, the "contactless" delivery guy stood around as if waiting for a tip. Is management not distributing the tips from on line orders, or are they, at least, not letting the delivery workers know when a tip has been paid and not explaining what contactless delivery means?) read more

This is the best Friday ever ever had. I'm starving long day after work and I can't find anyone need to deliver pizza but mountain Mike's came to you. I called and talk to the girl and she took down my order and clearly repeated it back. Went for buffet lunch today. The buffet was good but I'm pretty sure it's against health code to reuse the same plates again at buffet. They only give you one plate and don't put any extra out meaning everyone was scrapping the pizza spatula on their saliva laden plate, contaminating everything. Great way to get hep b! If they change this then please let me know and I'll gladly return but if not then I'm afraid I can't risk mine or my child's health. read more

Terrible experience. Never been before. I walked in at 1:45 and saw they had a buffet. I asked how much? $7.99. Very reasonable so I got the buffet. There were 4 pizzas to choose from but only a couple slices of each left. I tried a couple of pieces and they were just ok. So I figured I'd wait for some fresh pizzas to come out. I waited and I waited. Finally, I asked when more pizzas would be out. He said the buffet had ended. WTF? It ends at 2:00 but they neglected to tell me when i ordered. I asked him why he didn't tell me that. He just shrugged. I'm wondering if these guys that own it have ever worked in the restaurant or customer service business. Worse than the service is the fact that they didn't seem interested in making it right. There are too many other choices in Oceanside for me to give them another chance when they don't seem to care. read more

My advice, know what you like before you order. My husband and I ordered a pizza that we couldn't even chew. We literally had two bites of the pizza and decided, GROSS! When we called they basically said it wasn't their fault we didn't like the pizza and all they would do is give a percentage off the next order. Um, why would we order again if the only pizza we've ever had from there was disgusting. It's bad business. After my husband being on the phone for over 30 min and talking to MULTIPLE people we finally took the pizza in and got a simple pepperoni. (Which I was underwhelmed with). When I saw the total of a med and the largest pizza Saturday night, I have to admit I was stunned... I went ahead with the order/delivery anyway, hoping for the best. I was not disappointed!!! I had a construction crew of 3 men and 2 women I needed to feed. First the quoted 40 min, it was there in 30, maybe less, which was great as I had a very hungry clan. Secondly, my address is difficult to find since there is not an actual house, so the driver did get a little lost, but she called and I went out to the street to meet her, she was sweet and calm for being lost. Sorry I forgot her name. Once back at the crew site, I was able to feed all 3 men and of course us ladies with pizza left over. The presentation and pizza were amazing. I ordered the Pikes Meat and the Veggie. They were delish. I was so very impressed and everyone said it was the best pizza they've had. I now have Mountain Mikes app and speed dial as I know I will be calling them again. Thank you Mountain Mikes for exceptional customer service, courteous delivery person and outstanding pizza!! Mountain mikes was our favorite to go pizza place, I would tell everyone about it. But my recent experience just made them lose a customer. Only reason I am not giving a one star is because the food is still good. I think they may have gone through ownership change. I felt so bad for the young lady at the cash register. She seemed so frantic just by working there. We ordered our pizza for pick up, at 5:14. Picked up at 5:43. When we arrived home, they had given us the wrong pizza. I called and asked they deliver our pizza. They said it would be 20 mins. 20 mins passed and our pizza was not delivered so we called and they asked we pick it up because it was busy. When I went to pick it up, they tell me it was delivered!!!!!!! When I asked for my money back the you gladly apologized and went to ask for someone in the back. The man that came out didn't bother apologizing or even looking at me in my face. Just pulled out $26 cash from the register and handed it to me. Not to mention I had to pay $3.49 extra for ranch when I first got there on a separate transaction. So in reality they owed me $29.49 read more

Haven't tried their pizza but they don't value their customers. They mailed out 50% off coupons and when I drove all the way there they told me it's only valid on Tuesdays even though the coupon doesn't state this fact!! They said sorry it was a mistake in printing. Seriously? Oh well if you made a mistake you better accept it and keep your word. read more

Stay Away! They served us pizza that had a weird chemical or alcohol taste. We complained and they said that today is the first time that has happened. They knew it was an issue and kept serving pizza? Then the table next to us who had 2 pizzas said they had the same thing and another table told is they tasted the same chemical taste. The 3rd table had gotten a new pizza and that one tasted the same. I complained and asked what they were doing about it and they said nothing, no one complained during lunch. Stay away! read more

Finally tried the new pizza place. I'm giving them a 2 star because the staff was very friendly. I ordered the large 1/2 cheese 1/2 pepperoni thick crust. I didn't notice they had thin crust or I would have tried that instead.i had a salad bar. The pizza was doughy and so much cheese that four of the five kids left their slices because it was to greasy and too much cheese. The pepperoni side was also very greasy. The salad bar was very hard to choose toppings because it they looked old and dry. I did my best and two bites into it I tasted a sour flavor from the beets. I hope I don't get sick. They were kind enough to offer another plate but I didn't want to try again. It's to bad that their pizza is made great and cheesy. Maybe people like it but it was not for me or the other five people I was with. read more

This review is more about the service than the pizza although I've definitely had far better pizza. Placed our order, got our number and took a seat. Several parties arrived after us and received their orders before us. Happened to notice the woman immediately before us head to the counter to inquire about her order; they finally found hers in a to-go box on the oven (her order was comped). So, after 40 minutes, we followed her example and went to find our order then sat back and proceeded to watch the show. Now, in their defense, they had been hammered by a 20+ person party prior to our arrival... The kitchen staff began frantically opening all the boxes keeping warm on the oven and pointing fingers at each as well as the young lady who took our order. After several minutes, we were evidently forgotten. Another 15 minutes went by when the poor cashier disappeared back into the kitchen with our receipt and complained to someone who appeared to be in charge. Our pizza was evidently sitting in a box keeping up warm on the oven; the manager, or maybe franchisee, delivered it to our table and then proceeded to tell us he would comp our pizza, replace it with a large pizza and ran off with the one he just brought after blaming the cashier for the problem!!! We explained to her that we would accept the comped pizza but wanted our order... not a downgrade. So, the manager comes back with the pizza and the cashier insisting it's not ours because the ticket that's tucked inside has a name on it that's not ours. We give them our receipt, they open the box and finally determine it truly is our order. Maybe they were just having a rough evening due to the large party but we won't be returning. read more

I have eaten here a few times, and the food was ok those few times. However, I recently placed a delivery order and the pizza that was delivered was not cooked through (the dough was completely uncooked). We called and they reassured me the second delivery would be cooked fully. Upon trying the second pizza, it was also completely uncooked. I called to tell them the issue, as I was wondering if their oven wasn't working properly. At this point, I just wanted a refund (it had been two hours since I had placed my order), but the staff told me that I would have to call their manager directly. I called the manager and he proceeded to yell at me and say that they had already remade it twice and that he was not going to do anything further. I called the store back and asked to speak with another manager and they said they did not have one. The employee then proceeded to tell me to put the pizza in our own oven to cook it further, and they only offered a 20% discount on my next order (no refund was given). So I had no dinner and was out $30. Ridiculous!! read more

We went to try out this place for the first time the other night. The first impression was good. It was a nice roomy dining area and we were greeted nicely as we walked in. We ordered our pizza without much help from the server but I was fine with that. We had glanced at the menu online before we got in so I pretty much knew what we wanted and one thing we really were happy about was that they had green chile as a topping. So we ordered one of the specialty pizzas and asked to add green chilies, drinks and salad. The small salad bar was pretty good and was what was expected for a pizza joint. The dining area was nice and I really liked the televisions around to watch a variety of sports. Then our pizza came. It looked okay, a bit under-cooked, but still edible. But the biggest complaint was that they put jalapenos instead of green chiles. We told the server that they had made the order wrong and she shrugged her shoulders and walked away, then came back a bit later to ask whether it was her or the other girl who had taken our order. I showed her the receipt and where it stated to add green chiles and she looked at it and left again. Needless to say we were disappointed. I could see several workers including what looked to be the owners/managers standing in the back talking and joking around. Not one of them came out to talk to us or to even ask other customers about their dining. It was disappointing. If the food is good in a place I usually can overlook some bad service but sometimes the food doesn't make up for the bad service. Not sure if we'll try this place again. read more

We've been loyal customers since their opening, but after our most recent visit, that'll be changing. Customer Service has gone out the door. The person taking our order, gave us the wrong info on the coupons being and ended up getting discounted on one large pizza instead of two. (I wouldn't have ordered two large pizza's if the coupons didn't apply to both.) They also charged us the incorrect price for the buffalo wings. The menu prices shows $ 17.99 for 24, but was charged $ 21.99. When brought to their attention, their response...Oh, that's the old menu price, the one that was charged to us was the new price. We shared with them, that's a total ripoff to the customers. You have that $ 17.99 price listed on the menu (which is displayed on the wall) that's the price you should be charging, or change your menu prices to reflect the prices you're charging to the customers. The resolution they gave was we'll discount you on your next visit. We're NOT coming back...again. When you have employees (management included) that don't understand a lick of English, it can be very frustrating trying to explain the inaccuracy of their menu and properly training their employees to understand their menu and coupon procedures. BEWARE: Make sure they understand your order correctly, know their coupon policy and make sure you're paying the correct amount that their menu is displaying. Bye Mountain Mike's! It makes sense why the help wanted sign is up. You should start in house training first! It needs it. read more

We started with Mountain Mikes back in San Diego and the quality and employees were awesome never had a problem. This location however I can't say the same. I ordered a specialty pizza and asked for no bacon... delivery guy can't find my place (due to google maps messed up our address), he gets here I check my pizza... bacon... seriously... I send the pizza back and call them and notify them of the mistake. The gal on the phone says they can remake the pizza and ship it back out and on my next purchase they'll take 25% off I said sweet, btw I am military could you fix that on my bill since I am paying cash she said no it would have to be on your next order... I don't think she understood what I was asking. I was so hungry and frustrated I said forget it cancel my order. I get a phone call back 5 mins later and the same girl who took my order said because they made a mistake they'll remake the pizza and send it out for free I even asked "really for free?" And she confirmed with a YES so I said ok cool. Wait another 20 mins for them to show up. The driver gets here with 2 pizzas instead of 1 and asks for money for a pizza I had cancelled! At this point I call in AGAIN and ask for the manager. The manager doesn't even speak fluent English he kept interrupting me instead of hearing me out he asks to speak to the driver after a couple of minutes of arguing with this clown the driver tells me the pizzas are free. Ok cool, open the pizza that is the correct pizza and it is soggy and was only put in mid-way. I grew up working for multiple Pizza parlors I know a under cooked pie when I see one. Good thing it was free because I will NEVER order from this location again. Mind you I have ordered here 3 times since they first opened and every time there was an issue with them. Based on a recommendation from a local friend who said this was a new place in town to try & just moved here, I ordered online it said 25 min. For it to be ready. I got there in 35 min, pizza wasn't ready. Pizza finally ready in 45 min total, not the 25 that was stated online. They should have txted me or called to say they were running late to be considerate of a customers time. Then the pizza order wrong even after I reconfirmed the when I paid beforehand w/the girl @the front. The girls @the front were very nice; &, then a man, maybe the manager, was apologetic & offered me 25% off the next order, "assuming I'd be back again" for a next time. He should have given me the pizza for free, because I didn't have time to wait for a new pizza & then offer me 25% off next time. It was annoying. Wrong crust and also I asked for 1/2 veges and 1/2 meat/protein & that was mixed up too... ugg. Now we'll have to pick items off. Parking was easy. Besides the pizza being incorrect, there was a good amount of toppings, & the sauce and crust were tasty. read more
