Stayed here for the week this summer. The place we stayed in was awesome! I love the concept of…read morethis resort, but they could improve on a few areas: 1. Directions/signage- good luck traveling through the park. The maps they give you are very vague and don't contain all the roads. It's just very inaccurate and should be redesigned. There aren't any signs to say "canoe park" (turn left) or anything helpful for that matter. I even saw on a post for a gate name (that I had not heard of) and I later found out the gate is no longer called that. 2. General Store- completely useless place unless of want to go tubing (Summer months only). I went in thinking I would A. Get brochures or pamphlets on things to do around the resort or B. Get some eggs and milk. I was unable to do either. They had some Advil, Pepto, chips, drinks, and boiled peanuts in a crockpot. That's it! Nothing useful is in the general store and there were no brochures! Apparently they used to have a deli shop there, but it too was no longer there. 3. The woman at the recreation center was completely rude and took her job way too seriously. I wish I had gotten her name, but she was rude and told another lady coming in to workout that she needed to "wear a shirt" since she was wearing a sports bra and was going to the gym. It's just not a big deal! It's a resort, not a retail store! Nothing was said to the people who left the pool with a swimsuit and towel on. Also I called the recreation center the following day to see if they had any walking trails and I was told "we don't have in." Even though I ended up finding one at River Park. It must have been the same rude chick! The resort is very nice, lots and lots of deer! It's beautiful, with many parks. Roads are narrow and winds a lot, so I would be afraid to drive there after dark but they are well maintained. Phone service might be spotty in some areas, but everyone (other than the recreation center lady) was extremely nice, including the people that live there. Tubing is available for $20 a person at the resort. They will drop you off and pick you up along the river and everyone I talked to there was super nice, it's just a loooooong tubing ride (1.5-2.5 hours depending on water height). All in all a great place to stay, just tough for visitors trying to find their way.

I rarely leave reviews, but I feel obligated to share our experience so other families can make an…read moreinformed decision. Our family stayed at Timber Trail Lodge, managed by Blue Sky Cabin Rentals, expecting a relaxing vacation. Instead, we experienced multiple safety issues, the most serious of which involved a loaded handgun being discovered inside the cabin. On Friday evening, our 8-year-old son came out of the bathroom and said, "I found something that scared me." He later told us he was tempted to touch it because he had heard a noise and thought it might belong to a "bad guy." Thankfully, he remembered the gun safety lesson taught by his school resource officer: if you ever find a gun, don't touch it, leave the area, and immediately get an adult. That decision may have prevented a tragedy. We went into the bathroom and discovered a handgun on a low shelf that was easily accessible to a child. My husband secured it so our children could not access it while we called for help. We immediately contacted Blue Sky Cabin Rentals' after-hours emergency line. The representative was apologetic but told us she didn't know how to handle the situation. We informed her that we were calling local law enforcement because a loaded firearm had been found inside the cabin. A police officer responded, took an official report, and confirmed the firearm was loaded. According to the police report, it was a Taurus PT-111 G2 with a magazine containing 12 rounds. We expected this to trigger an immediate response from management. Instead, no manager contacted us that evening. Aside from a follow-up call the next morning asking whether we had contacted the police, we were left to deal with the situation ourselves. My husband ultimately had to contact management again on Monday to discuss everything that had occurred. Unfortunately, the firearm was not the only issue with this property. The cabin appeared to have been inadequately cleaned before our arrival. We found dirty underwear and socks left under the beds from previous guests, excessive dust, and dead bugs in closets and beneath furniture. There were also several maintenance and safety concerns: * A nail protruding from a dining chair punctured a family member's skin. * The third-story catwalk railing overlooking the main living area felt loose and raised concerns about fall safety. * One of the beds collapsed under normal use. * We had no hot water on our first night. The company eventually issued a partial refund, and we appreciate that acknowledgment. However, a refund does not change the seriousness of what happened. As parents, we keep thinking about how differently that evening could have ended if our son had acted on his curiosity instead of remembering the safety lesson he had been taught. We are incredibly proud of him and forever grateful to his school resource officer for teaching children what to do if they ever encounter a firearm. We are sharing this review because families deserve to know about our experience before deciding whether to book this property. We sincerely hope Blue Sky Cabin Rentals reviews its cleaning, inspection, maintenance, and emergency response procedures so that no other family experiences what ours did.

However there were a few hiccups: 1) The master bedroom has a ladybug infestation. I chalked it up to season and Blue Sky being unaware until I picked up the visitor journal and noticed several before us also complained. Shame on you guys for not fixing already. 2) Secondary bedroom has a cute bunkbed. Unfortunately the top bunk is not able to be used because the frame has a major split. Very dangerous. 3) The driveway/parking is also very dangerous. We were told we could not enter neighbors property but there is not possible way to enter and leave without doing so. My husband is a farmer and is very use to maneuvering vehicles/equipment but found himself cussing every time we arrived or left. 4) We were issued 4 towels for 4 people for 5 days AND there was no detergent to wash towels. 5) Lastly, the hot water heater gave out after two showers (short showers). This left 1-2 people taking cold showers. As I said, the cabin has potential but the rental company or the owners need to do a better job keeping up with the issues!i

Just like your house, things break and have to replaced or fixed, how you handle it makes the difference. We had our annual Girls' Weekend trip planned. We stayed at Longview and had a great time. The view was absolutely fabulous. We were disappointed when we found the hot tub wouldn't heat up. We called and they sent someone out. It couldn't be fixed without a new part that wasn't in stock anywhere local on a holiday weekend. We were kept up to date on what was happening and when it would be fixed. It was fixed before we left. A week or so after our trip, I received a phone call from the property manager. The cleaning crew found a bathing suit in the bathroom and wanted to know if it was one of ours. It was! It turned out to be an expensive bathing suit and one of my friends was happy to pay the postage to have it returned to her. Give them a try! We won't be going back for one reason: You are no longer allowed to have a real fire in the fireplace. You can only have one of those manufactured logs burning. My wife and I are in our late 50s. We go the mountains and rent a cabin each winter to do our yearly planning retreat. We have three fireplaces at home and know how to build a fire without causing damage. The cozy fire is the centerpiece of our planning meetings. In the hot summer months, it would not be an issue, but having a fire while in a mountain cabin during the winter is a must-have amenity for us. As long as the competing rental cabins allow it, we will have to go elsewhere.

Never EVER book your vacation with this company! I tried to leave a review--THEY sent me after our…read morerecent stay at the Blacker House, Manistee, Michigan, but they deleted the entire thing! They only left my title and one star. This company is a total scam. They have photos of the property that only resemble the property itself. Let me explain that we had a family reunion in Manistee on the 4th of July, and had booked it we THOUGHT through VRBO, almost a year in advance 2025 for 8.5K however once I received the email, I merely followed the link. Also note, Manistee gets booked solid annually every year since the early 1930's so when we arrived and saw the condition of the place we had ZERO options to stay elsewhere. We had a family reunion. We had to try and make the best of it. On VERBO photos show VACASA as the managing partner with pristine manicured lawn and garden all around the property. They had a strict no smoking rule on the entire property as well as strict no partying rule. The photos showed staged beds-all with beautiful quilts and pillows. The large dining table with a lovely table cloth. When we arrived the lawn was ankle deep and the garden overgrown to the extent it looked like a haunted house. The garbage close to the entrance in multiple garbage pails were over flowing and flies were infesting and just everywhere as we walked up to the entry. We unlocked the door, there were two entry doors, one knob came off. The floor and stairs were filthy. There was actual dried poop in the only downstairs toilet with various implants stuck in it. The dining table was broken, no tablecloth. The bathrooms staged, not cleaned. When I picked up the silicone hair trap in one tub the sludgy hair mass that hung from it was gag producing. Two beds had nothing but sheets. Nothing else. Curtains were grimy, filthy and on bent temporary rods. When we attempted to call for help--good luck. You do not reach anyone local who owns the property or who cares for the property. You just reach their customer service that gives platitudes and do nothing. When I asked for only a partial refund they gave me --get this $250 cleaning fund back. YEAH THANKS! It was NEVER CLEANED, of course they had to give me my cleaning fund back! They flatly refused any other credit for compensation for FIXING THEIR TOILET FULL OF FECES OURSELVES! Or for CLEANING THE HOUSE OURSELVES! Or for not being able to use the yard to play all the games we brought because it was so overgrown! What we saw in the ad, what we paid for was NOTHING like what we got! BEWARE OF THESE SCAM ARTISTS!

We rented this home as it was close to our loved ones home. The house is beautiful and sunsets spectacular from the rear deck. The property management company is poor I must say. 1st off it says to run the dish washer and there is no dishwasher soap provided. All the coffee cups, plates, utensils all had to be washed before use as they were all put away dirty. 2nd One of the ladies in our group left a box of jewelry in the night stand drawer. When she called Mountain Memories Cabin rentals she was told it wasn't there. When she said she needed the names of everyone in the cabin after us and the owners' names and such so she could tell the police when she contacted them, Mountain Memories mysteriously found the jewelry all of the sudden. Told her they would ship it out to her and provide a tracking number. She has never received the tracking number, or her box of jewelry. Mountain Memories will not return her calls, nor will they answer phone calls from her. Avoid any dealings with this rental company. I pray the owner's change who they have manage this property as they have a beautiful home to be proud of and we would love to rent again without Mountain Memories involvement.

I asked about the cabin before booking and was told there was not another home for a 100 yards. When I arrived it was right in the middle of two other homes. The stairs in the cabin are very steep and small, you have to pull yourself up and down. There are no trespassing signs everywhere around the cabin and when I contacted MMcabins my response was the signs are from the rude neighbor and qoute" Almost all riverfront cabins have neighbors just a few feet away, there would normally be six cabins on that lot instead of one, and some across the river as well, anywhere else in the area (especially in this price range) . I was stunned at their response to my complaint. I will never stay with them again.

Mary S's response to this review is full of inaccurate statements. I won't go into all of them but i want to state emphatically that I never used foul or abusive language while attempting to resolve our issues. Her statement about the fire pit and my insistence that there was no fire pit during our previous stay is nonsense. It's been several years since we last stayed in the cabin. The description of the cabin on their website mentions both a Gas Fire Bowl AND a fire pit. Mary also failed to mention the most important issu about our stay at this cabin. All rental mountain rental cabins have hot tubs, that's a must when renting a cabin. The hot tub at this cabin never worked properly during our entire stay. The water simply would not heat. that is the issue most dealt with bu the staff. When the hot tub guy came on the 3rd day of our stay he said the heating unit was broke and he needed to order a new part. That resulted in no hot tub during our entire stay. So readers of this review let me ask you. Would a $50 credit be satisfactory considering all the inaccurate website infor and especially considering the hot tub was unusable during our entire stay? I'd be very interested to know how any potential cabin renters would react to these issues.

Our plan was to check into the cabin and then go back out to get some groceries, but we were so shaken up when we arrived that we decided to leave for fear that we would lose courage to make it back to the road safely. The most difficult part was after entering the gate. Parts of the ~ 1 mile long extremely narrow gravel drive were so steep that we lost traction several times and we were afraid of slipping off. No guardrails, no hint of a shoulder. We did enter the property and looked around. There were dead bugs inside the cabin and a live hornet at one of the windows. A fallen hornets' nest with agitated hornets prevented us from walking on the outside porch. The inside was musty and smelled like old laundry. There was a couch cover with a burnt hole in it. The actual view from the cabin was not what was pictured in the photos. The fire pit was overgrown. We were so dissatisfied with the property that we turned around and left, willing to forfeit payment altogether. Thankfully, the property manager offered us another property to apply the money to, but we are having problems trying to find one that does not include a treacherous mountain drive.

We attempted to connect to the cabin wi-fi in order to make a call but the password that was provided was not the right password. After several more attempts on the key box it finally opened and we were finally able to access the cabin. We went inside and found an expected rustic cabin, what we didn't expect was the dried cheese left on the coffee table and crumbs left on the kitchen counter. After being on the road 9 hours to get there we just decided to deal with it, set our bags by the door and did a quick cleaning and wipe down. While cleaning another oddity we noticed was there are no curtains or blinds on any window in the cabin, including the large window in the bathroom... Once we were satisfied with our cleaning we started to make some dinner as it started to rain outside. We started hearing and feeling large bangs on the roof, unsure of what they were I went out on the porch and noticed the noise was coming from branches of all sizes falling from the trees and hitting the cabin. As I went back in the banging got worse, I said to my wife lets get in the truck and get out from under the trees until the weather passes. As we were grabbing our keys, wallets, purse, etc. we heard a loud cracking noise followed by a huge bang that shook the entire cabin so hard it knocked pictures and decorations off the walls. Looking out we saw a huge tree had fallen onto the cabin. Fearing for our safety we ran out to the truck to leave. On the way out we saw the tree had fallen on the back of the cabin and was hanging over the front porch, once outside, with winds blowing and branches still falling we also saw that the chimney had been knocked off the roof. We jumped in the truck and headed out from under the trees. Once we regained cell service my wife called Dominic, he initially apologized for the situation and stated that he would "clear the charges from our stay" as it was now not safe to stay in the cabin. This was at 6:12pm, we had been in the cabin less than 90 minutes. We headed to Blue Ridge, GA and luckily were able to find a hotel. None of the linens or beds in the cabin had been touched. After the storm blew through, we decided to go back to get our bags and the belongings we had left. While at the cabin we saw the damage and took pictures. We also went ahead and cleaned up the dishes that we had been using to prepare dinner, took all the food we had brought and put all the garbage in one can inside as the outside can was now blocked by the tree and the power lines and put he key back in the lockbox. We tried to do everything we could as per the departure guidelines for the cabin. I called Dominic back to give him a report of the damages but he did not answer so I instead texted the pictures to him and let him knew that we had cleaned up the best we could. The next day I tried to follow up with Dominic again and verify that the fees would be refunded, he did not answer or return my calls. When we finally arrived back home I found a message on my VRBO account (attached in the pictures) that said we were refunded everything but $145 for the cleaning fee. I replied asking if Dominic would consider refunding the cleaning fee as we were in the cabin less than 90 minutes and because of the damage the cabin would need to be cleaned regardless once the repairs were completed. Dominic offered only to reduce the cleaning fee by $45 *if* I would not leave a bad review. Cliff Notes: I paid $360.94 for 2 nights and was unable to stay any nights but was only refunded $215.94. Dominic and North Georgia Vacation Spots does not follow through with the promises spelled out on their cabin listings or told to you directly. It seems they only want your money and not your safety. Customer service is not their priority. Beware of this company, there are many better option in the area.
