The rear window on my 1999 911 Cabriolet had delaminated from the top. Most shops said I would need an entirely new top, but my car has been garaged and the top as well as the was in great condition. Was lovely meeting Nadia and Jimmy! Jimmy and his team recently fixed a tear on the drivers seat of my 91' mr2. I wanted to keep the original fabric seats so I went to them to see what options I had for fixing the tear. Instead of patching, Jimmy suggested that the whole panel be replaced since the drivers seat has a lot more movement on the fabric when getting in and out of the car. The panel replacement would last longer compared to doing a patch. While doing the repair Jimmy and his team also fixed the foam underneath since it was falling apart due to old age. I spent months trying to find someone to repair the convertible top mechanism on my BMW Z4. I got everything from very high estimates to outright refusals to even touch it. I finally broke down and took it to Peter Pan BMW, the so-called elite servicers of BMW automobiles. Long story short with them, they kept my car for 5 days and then told me to come and get the car because they didn't want to work on it. Upon a recommendation from another German auto shop who didn't service convertible tops (regular mechanics don't), I luckily found Mountain View Auto Interiors and Jimmy. Nadia at the desk greeted me with a sunny disposition and introduced me to Jimmy, the shop owner, who was also friendly and eager to help. After leaving the car with him for a couple of hours, he was able to call me with diagnosis and an estimate, which was extremely reasonable, especially in comparison with what I've heard prior. His estimate for the labor hours was fewer than what was actually required, but he still stuck to his original estimate. The top works like new, and I was also happy to support a local business rather than some corporate-owned mega shop that charges an arm and a leg for their "premier" service. Jimmy and his crew restored my 1972 Ford F250 4X4's interior to perfection. It had after market bucket seats and a center console that was out of character for the truck. He located an original bench seat and reupholstered it in black and gray leather. He also installed new carpet and a headliner. Everything is perfect and the price he charged me was very reasonable. I took my car (MB) in to replace the driver's seat cover because a tear that had developed over time. Because of time constraints and a tight schedule, I wasn't able to leave my car on a week day. I asked if they could work on it on a saturday and they agreed to do so. They rightfully charged a little extra which was well worth it for me. They finished the job in half the estimated time and the result was a beautiful new seat cover. Mountain View Auto Interiors - Jimmy and Orlando, owners - This company was recommended to me by Helmings Auto where I have my older minivan serviced. It was one of the most positive and memorable customer experiences I've had in a long time and I highly recommend their services. I had the following things done: repair of a 3rd row seat whose cable had broken thereby preventing the seat which stows into a well from being operational as such, installation of a new seatbelt, a drivers side armrest fixed and a leather seat panel replaced (and matched beautifully) on my drivers seat. Orlando's efficiency, attention to detail and obvious competence were evident from the start. More specifically, he didn't rush un-necessarily but worked diligently (we've all seen people who worked at a snail's pace). I watched him do a couple of the smaller jobs from my front seat as it made more sense to wait than leave and return. His attention to detail and pride in his work were always front and center. These seats are more complex than they look and tough to get at trust me. I wouldn't attempt this at home after seeing just how complicated it could get. Orlando's above mentioned attributes coupled with an overall great attitude makes him a stand out in not only his chosen profession but in his customer service relations. There's a reason why there was a Maserati parked in his and Jimmy's shop. Work ethic, no problem, check that one off too. I highly recommend Mtn. I don't recommend anybody to use this shop, their work are horrible and owner are mess up. This shop charge me $1600 Cash for installation to install Factory Competition seats on my 2019 Corvette Z06. When I discovered that they didn't install the seats properly. I reach out to them to see if they can resolve the issue for me. After the owner inspire the seats at the shop. He is not willing to fix the issue, and saying that "I am not going fix it, go some other place" " I am not going to touch it" their customer services are extremely poor and unacceptable. When second interior shop adjusting the issue, they found out ton of scratches and broking chips on both of my seats. read more

I just merged onto a carpool lane when a driver from this business decided he didn't like that so we cut me off by driving on the side emergency ramp to get back in front of me. I have a classic (2002) Prius, now with 92K miles, and the driver's seat was collapsing. My wife could no longer adjust the seat forward for her to drive, and it seemed the foam had simply collapsed and was interfering with the adjustment mechanism. On the recommendation of our mechanic, I went to Mountain View Auto Interiors and got a quote. They provided several options, and we chose to get the foam replaced. Turns out this is not a common part; they found two foam pads in the US in their online database, and had the nearest one (Wichita, KS) sent here. All looked on track until they got the seat apart, and saw the problem was bigger - the foam had collapsed and ripped because the seat frame was also ripping and breaking - simple metal fatigue from my overweight rear end bashing the too-thin metal for 10 years. They scoured their database again and found a replacement for that part (I believe from some Toyota Service center in Oregon somewhere) and had it shipped in. Finally, after a repair that took 2 days longer than expected, but with the help of the Internet, the car was ready and the seat good as new. I have to say I thought Bob was very up-front through all this, and I was surprised at the thinness of the metal used for the seat (clearly designed for more lightweight Japanese drivers). The only reason I hesitate on the 5th star is that I wish this had been apparent at the start, and we could have planned better for the longer down time for the repair. The discovery of the "hidden" damage caused extra delay and inconvenience, and if they'd had more experience with Prius of this model (granted, not a very common car), they might have realized it earlier. However, overall, 3 cheers to Bob and his online databases.! read more

My 9 year old Boxster needed a new vinyl rear window. The old one finally developed cracks. I got estimates from 3 different places. This place quoted about half of the cost of the other two, which always makes me suspicious. They did however come with a recommendation of my dealership. Carlsen Porsche apparently sends cars there to have work done. They stuck to their quoted price, the work was done in one day. The window now looks like new again. (I forgot what it's like if you can see through the back window.) After a couple of months and opening and closing the roof many times, the window still looks good and fits as tight as new. I am in the process of restoring my beloved 1989 Acura Integra and I had what I thought was a rip in my headliner. A (Yelp) highly rated upholstery shop in Sunnyvale (that begins with a "V") told me they would need to completely replace my existing vinyl headliner with a new cloth version. I decided to get a 2nd opinion from Mountain View Auto Interiors. The owner (Bob?) took one look at the rip and said "No worries. The headliner just popped loose from the gasket." He pushed everything back into place, and it looks as good as new. He could have easily charged me several hundred $ for that "repair" and I would not have known the difference. I will gladly be going back to his shop the next time I need some "real" work done. read more

Complete interior change -- carpet and seats. Had the great folks down at mntView auto interiors remove my carpet and oem seat covering on my f350. They put down a complete layer of fatmat for sound deadening. I changed the carpet color on the new one going back in. I had ordered online custom 100% leather coverings for the now nude seats front and back which they put on. It looks better than the factory interior. I had a experience very similar to that in the prior review by Matthias. The vinyl rear window in my Boxster's convertible-top was cracked, but the rest of the top was in good shape, so I just wanted to replace the vinyl window. Due to the design of the Boxster, this is a labor-intensive process which involves disassembling most of the convertible top and sewing-in a new vinyl window. In order to get a quality repair job, you need someone who knows what they are doing. I went to MVAI and Premier Auto Upholstery in Santa Clara for quotes and MVAI's quote was about 60% of Premier's. So I chose MVAI to do the work and they did a great job in just a few hours and the top came out as-good-as-new. When you call them or visit their shop, it doesn't have the most professional vibe, but based on my experience these guys do great work, on-time and honor their quote. read more

This is, I believe, my first review. I went in about a new front seat for my leather seat. He said its would take one week and I had to pay for the leather up front. The cost I paid was $600 and the remaining portion would be approximately $624. Today is one day shy of 4 weeks! When I went to pick up thecae he claims the other $624 was for a barack part on the seat plus there was an additional $400 for labor charge!
