Such a cute restaurant! I was so looking forward to dining…read moreat this restaurant. The presentation of each dish was amazing and appetizing! They use lots of colorful vegetables and sauces! But everything was very salty. I mean....very very salty killing the natural flavors of ingredients. I ordered a grilled fish but it came cold. I paid $36 for it.....very disappointed. However, my daughter's and husband's dishes were hot. We tried to get attention from our waitress but it was so hard. We called her several times but she kept walking away. The dessert was so pretty! Since we were full, we shared one dessert. I wish I could eat more different desserts... It was a little pricey for us. But for a special occasion, it's a good idea to visit this restaurant. But please mention not to use too much salt in meals.

We go here for birthdays, anniversaries, and we have been to a couple of wine dinners. I would like to stay this is five stars because sometimes you get the best thing you have ever eaten. Like the cheddar cornbread in the photos. It was so good. Also there was the time they had the pork chop. OMG. But my review is an average of several meals. Looking through photos here, last time I had a steak that was really good on one end on ok on the other. It's not exactly a crudités but the appetizer we had was good and honestly too big. The pickled vegetables were too sour for me to eat all that. The menu is different every day and you do not know in advance what it will be so good luck! There will usually be a couple things on the menu to satisfy most everyone. The restaurant itself is in what appears to be a remodeled old house. It is cozy but not tight or cramped. If you want to try the wine dinner see if you can get on the mailing list. It is wines paired with multiple courses. I have always enjoyed the food but again it is huge. I was so bloated after the last one because yes I could have stopped eating but the food was too good to not eat it.

This was about…read more10-15 minutes from campus (downtown Dahlonega) I attended a wedding of my friends Katherine and Chris at the winery - honestly I didn't taste any of the wine (yes I know, bad) but enjoyed myself. The venue is pretty spectacular with great views of the surrounding hills and valleys along with the vineyards as the hang of the side of the mountain. There were two aspects that pushed my opinion down a bit, neither are really the fault of the venue or business so I've stayed with the 5-stars. The wedding was held in an outdoor pavilion with great views, but during the first week of August quite hot. There are ceiling fans but they didn't help too much - I was sweltering in my jacket and tie by the time the ceremony ended (just be aware if you book something here during the hot season). The second, there are a lot of stairs as you are on the side of a mountain. If you have a hard time traversing a lot of stairs, there are other means of getting around so once again be aware. The main "hall" has windows with fantastic views. I thought the food was exceptional and wish I had taken more photos, but there were a lot of poor lighting (I was seated next to the dance area). My apologies for the missing check in and the lack of photos but I didn't want to be obnoxious at a wedding. Overall I love the rustic charm of this place and plan to return and more fully explore the wine offerings. I thought the service was exceptional with very accommodating staff, especially the bartenders.

We parked at the bottom of the venue and had to climb the stairs to the top. If you're lucky, you might catch a ride in the golf cart, but if you're seated in the back, hold on tight because it's a steep ride! We came for the Sunday brunch buffet, which features a different theme each month and never disappoints. If brunch isn't your thing, you can enjoy a wine tasting in the tasting room located below the main dining area. If you're there for brunch, you're also allowed to go back and forth between the tasting room and dining room during your allotted table time. I definitely recommend visiting any time of year; the views alone are worth the trip!

If you've spent more than five minutes eating your way through Alpine Helen GA, you already know…read morethe truth: finding genuinely good, made-from-scratch food here feels like a competitive sport--and most places are losing. Campfire Restaurant isn't just winning... it's playing a completely different game. I've been here since day one, watching owner Matt and his crew build this place with intention and pride. This isn't a "let's open and see what happens" spot--this is passion, detail, and respect for doing food right. In a town where "authentic" can mean reheated and overpriced, Campfire stands out like a perfectly cooked ribeye in a sea of mediocrity. The vibe hits immediately--rustic North Georgia lodge meets modern comfort. Wood, textures, that Smoky Mountains ambiance. Indoor dining is cozy, outdoor dining under Edison lights is where the magic lives. It's date night, family dinner, or "I survived today" energy all in one place. Locals recommend this place for a reason--and locals don't hype things lightly. Now the food. Everything is made in-house--real Southern food, comfort food, and American food with flavor and consistency. The Southwest Gunpowder Nachos? Legendary. Handmade chips, massive portions--get steak and extra corn. It's two meals unless you're me. Best value in Helen. The smash burger is easily one of the best in Georgia--juicy, consistent, unforgettable. Fried chicken is solid, but locals will tell you: get the chicken tenders. Ribeye is tender, juicy, and always recommended. Mac and cheese? Creamy, different--but I'll admit I'm biased because mine is elite. Still worth trying. And the s'mores dessert--if you don't have room, make room. It's rich, indulgent, and perfect for date night or birthdays. Service has that "Cheers" feel--friendly, consistent, no judgment if you roll in looking like life just happened. They remember you, take care of you, and that matters. Parking is easy in the Alpine village shopping center. Seating is quick if you're smart about timing (don't be silly). Live music adds to the vibe without overpowering it. Prices are reasonable (rare for Helen), portions are big, and quality stays consistent--that trifecta is everything. This is a bucket list, must visit, locals favorite, top rated spot in Alpine Helen GA. Whether it's Oktoberfest, a Smoky Mountains trip, or just a Friday night--this is where you go when you want food that actually delivers. And honestly? In this town... that says everything. #facts REASONS TO VISIT: 1. Must visit, bucket list restaurant in Alpine Helen GA 2. Locals favorite, top rated, best in North Georgia 3. From-scratch Southern food, comfort food, American food 4. Southwest Gunpowder Nachos (huge portions, local favorite) 5. Smash burger (one of the best in Georgia) 6. Indoor dining + outdoor dining patio ambiance 10. Live music, Smoky Mountains vibe 11. Friendly service, "Cheers"-style experience 12. Reasonable pricing + generous portions 13. Quick seating (if you time it right) 14. Great for families, groups, date nights 15. Ample parking in Alpine village shopping center

When a server set the steak on the table shortly after, I asked for 57 sauce, as I'm a sauce guy. When the server brought it back he told me to try a bite without sauce as their steaks are well seasoned. Boy was he right! The gunpowder seasoning along with the clarified butter really enhanced the flavor of the ribeye. My wife gave me a bite of her chicken Alfredo and it was well seasoned too. Nice balance of garlic. The sides are the reason for a the 4 star review, though if judged by the steak alone, it would easily be a 5 star review. I ordered the loaded mashed potatoes, and they were topped with cheese and bacon. The potatoes needed seasoning. Mostly salt, pepper, and butter. The same could be said of the Mac and cheese. Our server was amazing. He had a great personality, and made sure we had a good meal The restaurant was clean.

The best part is definitely the setting--you can sit and watch tubers float down the river while you eat. Just keep in mind there are no fans or air conditioning, so it can get pretty hot... The menu posted on the food truck/website is not the full menu, so make sure to ask for the paper copy. They're known for the Buddha Burger and also have some healthier options. The food was okay for me, but if you love greasy smash burgers, you'd probably rate it much higher. One thing I didn't love was the pricing. Prices have increased, and there is an upcharge for paying by credit card that I didn't see mentioned on their website. There are also no fountain drinks--everything is bottled and purchased separately. Service was great. The person cooking and serving us was very friendly and genuinely eager to tell us about the food, the location, and their sister restaurant (Hoochee's River basket). Overall, I'd stop by again if I were already in the area, especially for a casual picnic-style meal with a nice river view. The atmosphere/location is really what makes it unique.
