My husband had the Smashburger with fries. Everything was delicious! My husband is a terrific chili maker and this chili at this place was on par! Really good. Not spicy. ( I got it without the jalapeños) perfectly seasoned! The burger was also well seasoned, and the meat itself had a good flavor. Very fresh. His crinkle cut fries were seasoned and were delicious! Reminded me of the seasoning that we would get on our fries when we lived in Germany. We were told that they buy their meat from a local butcher and they cut their own steaks. While visiting Helen this place had some great reviews so we gave it a shot . Service was excellent, from beginning to end. Our waitress Alyssa was very kind, attentive and made sure everything came out perfect. In addition the support provided from the other waiter and waitress was great to see. The place was slow and we were able to get seated immediately. However, even when a place can be slow there might not be enough follow up to make sure everything is good. This was not the case here at Campfire. Again, phenomenal service. Food was great. The nachos weren't your typical chips, they were wonton style, so a little soft and some crunch, but the plate was loaded. The chili came out hot and was loaded with toppings, loved the cornbread croutons in it. The smash burger was very filling, stacked with 2 patties, bacon, soft bread and great side of fries. We ate the Tuscan Chicken, Cheeseburger, and Chicken tenders. Everyone enjoyed their meals and I will say the chicken for the Tuscan chicken was delicious. (We put the sauce in the side and I didn't eat it;never even tried it.) The food came out quickly and it was good. The two things we DID NOT like about this establishment was one-the music was too loud (not our preferred genre of music either but with the volume making it hard to have a conversation indoors made it a little more annoying). Two-there is only one bathroom with one stall to use for the entire restaurant. So if you're in line you are potentially standing by people trying to eat their food and it just was a hassle to stand there with four people ahead of us. Literally after only being sat for 7 minutes and our server had only brought us water. Coming from the industry I understand this creates an issue with servers and their sections so I get it but to have a server be rude and make a snide comment "well let me know if the next one is actually my table and I can have my section back" AS SHE WALKED PAST OUR TABLE was so incredibly uncalled for. Helen Georgia~ Cute lil cafe! I had the fried green tomato salad. I love fried green tomatoes. These were nicely breaded, but very mushy and tasteless tomatoes. Disappointing, but the rest of the salad, including their smoked Caesar salad dressing, was really delicious. Cornbread croutons topped off the salad and they were super yummy. Everyone else had a version of the smash burger. One person had chili cheese fries, one person had a gluten-free bun, someone else had regular fries, and one also had the Mexican street corn salad. After a fun afternoon making candles in Sautee Nacoochee we asked for lunch recommendations and this place sounded great. So we headed over to Helen for some burgers. There was a huge parking lot inside a plaza with other stores. Warning that my cell service was very intermittent while they to navigate here so plan ahead for directions. We took a seat and the menu had a lot of appetizing choices. We went with the smash burgers and they were delicious. The fries were well seasoned too. If I had room for dessert I would've kept going. I really wanted to try the campfire s'mores pie. The food was a 5/5. The service was good and attentive. My family and I were engaging In conversation and catching up with each other. Now this is where the lower rating comes in. We were politely asked to vacate our table after we had finished our food. We were deep in conversation and told that they were prepping for the dinner rush. I wouldn't say it is completely unfair to request this, however it wasn't the vibe we were going for. It did sour the experience the bit. If you are looking for a quick in and out meal, this is your place. The food is delicious and there are so many tempting things on the menu. Time is the most precious thing you have. We only had one night in Helen and plan to eat at campfire. When we arrived, we had to wait approximately 20 minutes, which is fine. When we were seated, they sat us in a back hallway right in front of the kitchen swinging door. The kitchen staff was blaring music, which started off the headache. I asked if we could move and she said sure. We ordered and then started to wait. And wait. And wait. She finally came over and said that she had forgot to put our order in and would I like a drink on the house. My wife suggested a martini and the waitress said, "yeah right". The waitress said she would bring me a tea. We waited another 30 minutes and never got our food. We got up and politely offered to pay for the salad that we had eaten. They said that's OK. I didn't time it, but I would say we sat there for about 45 minutes to an hour. They wasted our time and one night of our dinner in Helen. I have no idea if the food is any good. Wow! We were recommended this spot by the bartender at Bangkok Haus the night before. I am SO glad we tried it! Apart from being within walking distance of our hotel, the food was amazing! We started with the campfire nachos and could have almost stopped there! That was enough for 4 people easy!, see the picture. I had the smash-burger and it was near perfect. I will say that to my taste it was a little salty, but I also added no ketchup or mustard which would normally mask some of the saltiness. I didn't because it simply didn't need it! It was excellent. They have an option to add a third patty to it but I don't know how you could eat it! My wife had their ribeye. We questioned it a little at $37, and my wife is a bit of a steak snob as she cooks them so well at home, but she said she would buy it again! It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. It was about 14oz with no bone. And of the whole steak there was only one small piece of gristle. It cut like butter and needed nothing else. Also of note was the live music. It's a small space, but the music wasn't over the top or too loud. It added well to the meal . Overall VERY glad we tried it out. The waiters are quick to walk up and take your order. Today we did try the fried green tomatoes appetizer and they were good. Very fresh and I loved the balsamic drizzle on them I just wish the breading held up better on the tomatoe. The chili cheese fries were hands down the best I've ever had. First night at Helen, we ate here. Two of my kids had the cheese burgers, the youngest the tenders. My children said the patties were juicy, and well seasoned with the cheese perfectly melted. I had the BLT salad. I normally stay away from salads while eating out, because they are usually overly saturated with dressing. That was not the case here. The dressing was enough to glue all the ingredients together, but not over whelm the pallet. The salad was topped with fried green tomatoes, which were AMAZING. The staff is very hospitable, and want to make sure you have the best experience. My children are planning their return even after having just left the restaurant an hour ago.
