I remember having to order a crib for our hotel room, and how accommodating the staff were at that time. Our family had a wonderful stay here, so long ago. And since then, whenever I've visited Victoria, it's been impossible NOT to pass this gorgeous hotel by, as it sits on a huge chunk of prime real estate, on Government Street, overlooking the inner harbor and across the street (kitty corner) from the majestic Parliament Building. And the hotel itself is quite majestic, reminiscent of a castle, really. I think it is one of the most famous and most beautiful hotels in all of Canada. The hotel is known for its high tea service on the weekends, and for its posh hospitality and service. Of course, one must expect to pay top dollar for all this, plus this prime location, but to many, it is worth it. I recently returned to this hotel for a wedding and boy, I was impressed. The ceremony was held on the south lawn and it was gorgeous. What a fabulous venue, with a view of the harbor and the Parliament Building, with all the flowers and chairs on the impeccable green grass, surrounded by all the well-kept bushes and trees, with the stunning hotel as our backdrop. After we were all ushered through the gorgeous main floor and by the stunning lobby to a ballroom for cocktails and dinner. The room was large enough to accommodate all the tables for us diners as well as a large dance floor, plus room for the live musicians and the dj too. Yet despite the open and spacious configuration of the space, it felt intimate, thanks to the lighting and lay-out of tables. And the hotel staff were unbelievable. Seriously, if you plan on hosting an important and/or formal event in Victoria, you should definitely consider this venue. There is not one aspect of the event or evening I could find fault with. I thought the washrooms were beautiful. I loved the high end shops on the main floor (bummer that they were closed when I was there. I would have loved to check out some of the kick-ass purses and clutches on display in the windows). I loved the hotel lobby with the stunning organic mesh art installation suspended from the ceiling. I loved the genteel wood-paneled, gentlemen's club-like lounge....I really loved it all.

Didn't like the gin & yuzu cocktail (too strong and lacked flavor) or the leechy cocktail (too sweet and heavily syrupy). It was a pity that I tried two out of five signature cocktails, and wasn't happy with any of them and they were pricey.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by two of the nicest front desk people, who took our luggage for storage, then found our room had indeed been cleaned as early as possible and was in fact ready for us for early check in immediately! The property itself is reminiscent of a period of taste and attention to detail that seldom exists any more. Our room was beautiful: spacious, with two separate bathroom sinks and a separate jetted tub and walk-in shower, plus a small sitting area and plenty of space! So nicely appointed with everything in its place, and everything working. The entire lobby and library/lounge area was also beautifully appointed, and so homey and inviting. And breakfast - included with the room - was elaborate and scrumptious. Each day features both sweet and savory options; for example, pancakes, or eggs and bacon. My wife and I got one of each and shared them. It was all delectable. And each day's menu, specially prepared and printed for that day, includes a weather forecast for the day - even with temperatures in both Celsius and Fahrenheit! We had such a wonderful stay that we hated to leave. We'd look forward to visiting Victoria again and would definitely choose Abigail's hotel again!!

The hotel is located right next to the Parliament and Government st, everything was within walking distance. You wouldn't really need a car. We would love to stay here again in the future.

Overall, I felt it was worth the money. They also allowed me to drop my bags at the coat check room for an hour until I had to check in for my seaplane ride back to Vancouver Harbor. I plan on returning to Victoria and will strongly consider staying at this hotel again.

While The Fairmont Empress might be more well-known, our research told us that a hotel of its size and age would likely mean smaller, less updated rooms and maintenance challenges. The Magnolia proved to be the perfect choice. The Magnolia exceeded our expectations! During our two-night mid-week stay, every interaction was seamless -- from the efficient valet service and smooth check-in process to attentive housekeeping and hassle-free checkout. Rather than dining at The Courtney Room restaurant, we took advantage of Victoria's fantastic walkable dining scene. Our only minor comfort issue was the room temperature -- even with the AC running, we found ourselves opening the windows as wide as they would go for that lovely coastal breeze. Fair warning though: the harbor seagulls are incredibly chatty and apparently never sleep! LOL One small disappointment: our car was returned from the valet absolutely covered in bird droppings -- quite a lot! While I understand the hotel can't control wildlife, it was surprising to receive our vehicle in such a different condition than we'd left it. Would we return to the Magnolia Hotel & Spa? Absolutely! It's the perfect balance of intimate boutique charm while keeping you right in the heart of everything Victoria has to offer.

We also saw our friends' room which was also very nice. I'll start with the only real con worth mentioning, which is that this property is about a 10-20 minute walk from town (depending on your destination). It's a lovely flat walk along the water. The trade off is a really lovely water-front location. But, it's something to consider. We had a lovely stay at the Inn at Laurel point. The hotel is situated right on a little peninsula so the views from everywhere are wonderful. You are right on a lovely walking path right on the water and you can watch the ferries, water taxies, sea planes and other harbor traffic right from your room. We found the beds comfy and the property was silent. We kept fairly irregular hours but even when we kept our do not disturb sign up until the mid afternoon, someone still stopped by to tidy up and make the bed. Service everywhere was on point. I will review the restaurants separately but wanted to mention that they do excellent in-house pastries and the restaurant is great. Make a point to hit both the coffee shop and the restaurant during yours stay.

We made reservations for 2 nights. We didn't stay for 2 nights as my wife had a serious trip and fall accident in downtown Victoria. My wife and I spent more time at the Royal Jubilee Hospital than she did at the hotel. I only got to sleep 3 hours in the hotel after my wife sent me to the hotel to get some sleep knowing that we needed to get back to the USA as soon as possible. Our room was nice. We used our Nightly Upgrade Awards and were given a fantastic room with a view of the harbor. We were excited to stay here, until the accident. It would've been nice if they had gave us back one of the Nightly Upgrade Rewards that we used but, I didn't think about it at the time of our departure. Service was great. They were very understanding of our situation, knowing that my wife was in the hospital for that first night. The manager gave me a sandwich knowing that I didn't have time to get anything to eat. After talking with him, they allowed me to check out a day early. I was able to go their executive lounge. They provide breakfast and and evening appetizers. Soda and water are always available. It was not the hotel visit that I envisioned. My daughter spent more time here as I gave her the keys to the car so she could stay at the hotel instead of the hospital. They were very helpful and understanding. Even though it was a short visit, my wife is already planning on going back.

Despite the holiday weekend, this hotel provided the best EV charging situation I've ever experienced - there was always at least one available charger in the downstairs garage and there's two available for use outside in the valet area. I loved this hotel's outdoor walking space - beautiful harbor views with lovely landscaping and pathways of varying heights, tons of pedestrian and dog walking traffic. We brought our dog - the designated pet rooms have vinyl flooring. There's pet rooms on different floors, but we unfortunately got the ground floor level, which feels slightly shabbier as you're walking through the hallways (it smells faintly like a restaurant's dishwashing area). My only other gripe is there's three elevators and they run pretty inefficiently but stairs to the lower level (gym, pool, and garage access) were not easily found.

I'm so glad we chose the Victoria Marriott Inner Harbour. We arrived in Victoria by seaplane and found the walk from the terminal to the hotel took about ten minutes. There was a short wait at check-in, and our room was ready when we arrived just before 4 p.m. on a summer Friday. Our friends' room wasn't ready yet, so we relaxed in the M Club lounge, which we had access to through our American Express booking. The M Club was spacious and stocked with complimentary snacks and drinks. A server stopped by, and we enjoyed happy hour menu from the hotel restaurant while we waited. Not long after, our friends received a notification that their room was ready. While there are three elevators, they were very slow and often crowded as a result. Once we reached our room on the 15th floor, we found it comfortable with standard amenities. It didn't feel especially upscale, but it worked well for our stay. This is a dog-friendly hotel, and we did have one minor issue: a nearby dog barked nonstop around 10:30 p.m. We called the front desk, and within 15 minutes the barking stopped, allowing for a quiet night's rest. We checked out the indoor pool, which was stocked with plenty of towels but packed with loud, splashing kids. We ended up moving to the hot tub instead. There's an outdoor area adjacent to the pool we tried to access, but the door was malfunctioning. Another guest helped us exit, but we couldn't get back in and had to walk around the building to re-enter. The lobby restaurant was a highlight. We stopped in for late-night drinks and received excellent service. We also experienced the Petite Chef themed dinner, which featured an interactive projection show right on your plate with delicious food. Overall, I really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel, especially if you're already part of the Marriott rewards program.

I might take a peek at other options next time, but highly likely I would stay here again and definitely recommend!
