We have been going to Morton's for 14+ years, since they have been open. We followed them from Leander to Cedar Park. Given them our business weekly. As the prices climbed, we still continued our business. Today we will end our dedication to Moutons. We paid $15.99 for a ham and cheese sandwich. It should have been a muffuletta. We paid $15.99 for a Ruben that had nothing but sauerkraut. When we called to question and complain, the person who answered was rude, and annoyed with our complaint / observation and hung up on me without any explanation. It's sad to see such a staple in our community treat their long-time patrons with such disrespect. The new owners have a long way to go. We will never be back.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This location is a breath of fresh air compared to the location that use to be open in Leander.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]First of all, this location is more open and well lit. The decorations are nicer and I really love that they have a Pac-Man arcade game...win![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] One of my biggest issues with the Leander location was the staff. This location was NOT like that. The server we had was very friendly, positive, helpful, and attentive. We didn't feel like we were a burden simply for showing up. I noticed a regular walk in and our server said "hello" to him by name. It says something to me for a place to have regulars that are known by name. It had been years since we have been to a Mouton's. I suggested it to my husband because I knew it was close to our chiropractor anyway. We got the chicken bacon biscuit each and oh my, my, my, my, my...our mouths were very, very happy with our choice. The egg was cooked to perfection for both of us too. They seem to actually know how to cook an over medium egg. Oh and the bacon isn't flimsy bacon tasting paper either, it is thick cut and delicious! Definitely one of my favorites! Such a treat to have once in a while.

Surprised by some of the recent low star reviews! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We stopped in on a Friday evening, not too crowded[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], service was good, food was too. Fried green tomatoes, a fav, covered in some creole crawfish sauce... delicious! We shared the catfish platter and shrimp poor boy. Tip of the cap to the poor boy, between the two entrees, the shrimp was the star. The fried catfish, while good, was breaded a little too much, fish inside mushy in places. The seasoned fries were great, I'd go back just for a plate of them. Good meal, all served piping hot, good time, solid 4-star experience! Recommend you try Mouton's!

A friend and I went for an early lunch at Mouton's. She'd been there before, but it was my first visit. The strip center restaurant has 2 rooms: a bright one in the bar area in the storefront on the right and a larger, darker space to the left. We chose a booth in the brighter area. The booths there can accommodate maybe 8 people. Our server was the same person who showed us in. She was bubbly and enthusiastic, and did a good job. She seemed to know the menu and was able to make recommendations. We chose a small portion of jambalaya, a full size etoufée, and an order of fries. Everything was perfectly cooked and seemed freshly made. The jambalaya was on the spicy side but very good. This is a place I could easily return to many times, as the menu has lots of tempting options. Nearby parking is pretty limited out front, but there are plenty of spaces in the lot at the far end of the building.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]December evenings are beautiful on the outdoor patio, and the propane heaters make it so cozy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere tonight was festive and holiday-friendly, with everyone clearly enjoying themselves.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was excellent, and the cocktails were perfectly on point with a holiday twist

Had the steak omelette and enjoyed it very much as it had lots of flavor. The server was attentive and checked on our table on a regular basis. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are plenty of space for various large parties and the location is easy to find.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I'm always looking for some good Cajun food, but I'm not sure this hit every mark. Here's the breakdown of our visit: [[HIGHLIGHT]]Bar-like atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was very slow. Gator bites were HORRIBLE - almost all batter. What little meat existed was flattened and extremely chewy. The dipping sauce was delicious. Chicken fried steak was great. Catfish jambalaya was full of flavor. Garlic bread was stale and didn't have good flavor. Texas toast was pretty good. Overall we'd be willing to give it another go, but are not clamoring to find our way back.

This place has a real homey feel to it serving plenty options for carnivores and vegetarians. We ordered the shrimp and grits 3/5 and the French toast with a fried egg. 5/5 Shrimp and grits was okay once the hot sauce was added but by itself the grits were bland and shrimp seemed to be boiled which was weird and I didn't enjoy. I opted to bring it home and throw the shrimp in a skillet for a good seer. Wouldn't order again. The French toast was great , perfect texture and flavor, the bread they used worked really well. The table we were at had some jelly on it from the prior customer which was a tad disturbing , unclear if it was missed as it was hard to see with the Wooden table top or if the table just wasn't cleaned at all. Our waitress was knowledgeable and friendly. I would come back if I'm the area.

We had a wonderful experience at Mouton's Bistro and Bar. We ordered the catfish, calamari, chicken fried steak, green beans, and fried taters--everything was absolutely delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was warm and enjoyable, making it a great place to sit back and relax.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The only downside was the timing of the food. My meal came about 10 minutes after my companion's, and since we came to eat together, that was a little disappointing. Other than that, everything was excellent, and I would definitely come back.

Ordered on DoorDash and this for real ? Like nothing was even on the plates to be honest. I mean honestly not worth the money.

This was my first experience here, and I had heard good things. First, the service wasn't great. Not many options for anyone avoiding wheat, and almost none for garlic and onion intolerances. I decided to just go for it, and ordered a favorite dish, the crawfish étouffée. It wasn't very good, definitely not worth the stomach ache I got for eating it. The spicing was rather bland, with the bitterness of green pepper dominating everything else.

We love Cajun food and there aren't too many Cajun joints around. Once we found Mouton's, it has become our go to place for Cajun food. The beer is nice too.

Yes! The cedar park location is open.

Do you have Happy Hour? and if so can u share the Happy Hour info with me?

Yelp says there's a military discount. Does anyone know how much it is?

10%. Food is overpriced and definitely not Cajun or Creole.

What are your hours of operation? I went today Thursday during lunch time and the restaurant was closed.

Hi there. I’m so sorry! We actually had to close both locations today due to a presumed positive covid case. Hope to be back by Monday.

Is this location still planning to re-open?

Yes, May 4th for curbside for both locations.

I Know both locations are temporarily closed due to covid-19. but I am curious if anyone can tell me the current price - before tax are the Lunch Specials? I am thinking 8.99 but not sure?

The Lunch specials were $7.99 before taxes

My dish had 4 small shrimp (which I ate) a lot of anduille sausage bits, and a lot of flavorful sauce over these soupy cheesy grits that was not what I expected. It was served as a "soup" with a spoon. There was some toasted bread on the side of the bowl. While everything was very flavorful, I did not like the soupy consistence, it was unexpected for me. My daughter's biscuits and gravy, on the other hand, needed more gravy... she liked the dish but she felt her gravy was too little for the serving. Then she also ordered a half order (1) pancake with cinamon roll French toast and we took that home. It had good flavor! Overall, I enjoyed the food, the flavors were good, the prices have definitely gone up a LOT. 3 stars for good flavor as expected- but I was not "blown away"... but yes of course I would come again! Enjoy!

Plenty of menu options as well. The staff are warm, welcoming, and accommodating (we came with a group of 6 and they got us situated right away). The space is small (which I find very nice), there is indoor and covered/shaded outdoor seating available. And I love the decor! Overall, highly recommend!

My husband ordered their burrito, which came with chips and a cheese dip on the side. Their shrimp was good; nothing special. I did ask to try aleida's sauce, which many people liked on yelp, but we liked their green sauce the most! Overall, very cute and colorful restaurant; loved all the decor. The outdoor patio, where we sat, was covered and nice, until it started pouring hard outside. Not a super authentic latin restaurant. No complimentary chips and salsa. My taco wasn't worth more than $5, tbh, and we paid close to $9..given it was shrimp, but we've had much better shrimp tacos elsewhere for less. I wish I had a photo of my poor taco, but I totally forgot to take a picture :/

Amazing food, great coffee, and such a fun little store! I definitely bought too much and had zero regrets. Lunch was unforgettable. The jacked-up club sandwich with deli-carved meat was incredible and huge, easily enough for two people to share. The honey latte was such a treat, perfectly balanced and comforting. What truly made the experience stand out was the people and the purpose. The wonderful woman who took my order was learning the POS system and is a participant in their training program. She was kind, capable, and welcoming, and it was clear she was being supported, not rushed. It felt good to be part of that moment. We also popped next door to Sunflower Hill and purchased the most beautiful handmade items: a wind chime, a soap dish, and a candle. Each piece came with the story of the person who crafted it, which made them feel like true treasures, not just purchases. This company is doing something really special: making a genuine difference in people's lives while offering an outstanding product and experience. It was an unforgettable lunch, filled with heart, intention, and joy....and we will absolutely be back.

While it was a bit of a far drive, it was well worth it to have breakfast at Texas Toast Breakfast and Burgers with these friends. I had no expectations of what to expect (first time diner), so I was starting from ground zero. First impression...this was a neighborhood café with down home cooking. The restaurant had a small town, country, and laid-back vibe...no pretense, just warm and welcoming. As I got out of my car, I could smell the wafts of something good happening in the kitchen. Our server was friendly and immediately offered us water. She gave us adequate time to place our orders and checked on us pretty frequently. She was attentive while also giving us the right amount of space. Why do this neighborhood café have a 4.8 rating? Hands the food! My friends ordered the Chicken Fried Steak Plate (including three over easy eggs, hash browns, and of course, Texas toast) and two breakfast tacos. I ordered the chicken and waffles. Did I die and go to food heaven? The waffles were firm on the exterior and soft and flavorful inside. So, so good! My friends were pleased their meals also. My friends meal came with Texas toast, which she gave to me. It was yummy! I did not eat it all since I was carb-loading with waffles. Would I dine at Texas Toast Breakfast & Burgers again? Absolutely!!!

I ordered today a Million Dollar Breakfast Sandwich from their summer specials, and it didn't go unnoticed that there was a generous pile of tender greens with it. I also had the summer watermelon wake-up juice, which was light, sweet, and very freshening. I would encourage first time diners to try the fresher, fruitier offerings before coming back for omelets or skillet breakfasts another day. Service was solid, and our server did not keep us waiting at all. There's plenty of table space, though it does get busy. When it does get busy, service tends to suffer a bit and kitchen falls behind, at least in our experience.

You feel taken care of from the moment you sit down. Now, about sitting down: this place is popular. Like, really popular. If you're hoping for an intimate conversation about your feelings, you might want to snag a table outside. Inside, it's lively enough that you'll be reading lips more than listening. But hey, the outdoor seating is lovely, so problem solved! Here's where things get a little greasy--literally. First Watch proudly markets itself as a champion of fresh, whole ingredients and quality cooking. I've been a fan for exactly that reason. But on my most recent visit, something was... off. The food had this noticeably greasier quality, and I'm pretty confident they switched to a cheaper cooking oil (canola or similar vegetable oil, if I had to guess). For context: certain oils don't agree with me--they trigger migraines and general unwellness. And sure enough, within hours, I was both nauseous and nursing a headache. Not exactly the "fresh start" First Watch promises. Everything else was solid, but I can't give five stars when a restaurant's practice doesn't match its principles. If you're sensitive to oils or generally avoid the cheaper varieties, proceed with caution or ask about their current cooking oil before ordering anything fried or sautéed. Still love the concept--just hoping they get back to their roots (and better oils).
