The gentlemen that came were scheduled to arrive between 8:30-9:00. They were at my place at 8:40 AM ready to roll. Phoned me when they were about a half hour away. The men were professional, kind, careful with my things, and extremely efficient. Like the most magnificent movers ever which is why I call them legends or angels. I am unpacking right now and nothing is broken, nothing was lost, and I was able to take a nap after they were done. Highly recommend Move4U Movers. We had a team of 5 for packing and moving. They took great care with our items, labeled boxed well and were very efficient with the packing. We got them for 4 hours of packing and they did as much as they could within three hours. We didn't have enough space for them to pack furniture so we waited for moving day for them to pack the furniture. On the moving day they worked pretty much non-stop for more than 10 hours - other than a 30 minute lunch break. They extended their time by an hour and a half because we had so much stuff. In hindsight we could have prepared more of our stuff to be packed before the moving day, but the guys were efficient and took great care of all of our stuff. They put together all of our large items - beds, tv, etc. They moved a massive dual grill and also moved our oven range from our old home to the new home, and brought the other oven back to the old home. Lastly, the pricing. They are very affordable. We received multiple quotes from various companies and they all charged much more. So compared to the competitors I wouldn't go with anyone else. These guys were great. The team arrived early into the window. They were super friendly, calm, and patient. We had pleasant conversation while they moved us. Which I thought was great since moving is such a high stress activity, the last thing I want is movers that make it more stressful. So shoutout to this team for being a beacon of calm. Outstanding! Dan is an excellent communicator! He was on top of getting the POI to both buildings. He kept me updated on the status of those communications. I was contacted a few days before the move to go over the details and assured me the men would be there. I received text and email with my estimated charges (was much lower after his very efficient men were done) The day of the move I was their 2nd stop. They were delayed slightly (less than an hour) Dan called me !! An hour before the expected time and informed me of the situation and offered to send more help if needed. That heads up allowed me the time to clean the unit we were leaving (worked out well). When the guys arrived they were clean and professional! Not a ton of talking (main guy spoke English other 2 very polite but mostly polish). They got right to work. Handled my daughters thing's carefully and quickly! They were dialed in. Same thing at the destination. They were fast! But not in a hurry- they put everything where my daughter directed them to. These guys were great. Moving is scary as hell. Small improvements: We paid for a Chicago permit to block off our street which was facilitated thru Move4U and no one followed the signs, there was no repercussions for people parked on our street and we didn't get a refund. Huge waste of money. We were quoted a 20ft truck and about 6 hours but the actual move was 8 hours and larger than the truck. They did offer to come back the following date and do their hourly rate but we declined due to the amount we'd already paid. I can't believe that I am updating my super positive review with the absolute opposite sentiment. I reached out Move 4 U for a quote online and I got a call the very next day requesting the inventory of the move. It took about 30 mins to list everything, after 5 days I realized they hadn't sent a quote so I sent an email, I get a response stating they don't service 60620 however the highlighted map implicates that they do. Now 60620 is on the south side of Chicago where black ppl reside... had I never reached back out to them they would've never gotten back to me (that's the rub here). I hate to accuse them of discriminatory practices however I'm also no dummy when the map clearly indicates they serve all of Chicago and Chicagoland, it's a 30-40 min drive from 60645 to 60620... anyone reading this has any reasons outside of discrimination as to why they'd deny service of returning customers no less??? I was stressed about my move because I had furniture at my parent's house, in addition to a 6ft dresser that I had recently purchased on FB marketplace at a house about a ten minute drive from my parent's house. I was moving down into an apartment in Lincoln Park from the northwest suburbs of Chicago and my request seemed a little hectic, but Move4u didn't even bat an eye. Paul sent me a quote early Wednesday morning and we had everything taken care of and booked within 30 minutes for the following day! SO FAST!! I actually went with them to begin with because of the good reviews I read about on Yelp and I'm very excited to say everything was correct. I know it sounds too good to be true but I don't have anything negative to say. They came right when they said they would to the first pickup. Wrapped everything up and protected it all beautifully. Carried some pretty heavy furniture (including a sectional, 6ft and 300lb dresser, big recliner, 5ft work desk, etc.) and NOTHING WAS DAMAGED! I think you always expect something to go wrong or be a little off, but nothing ever did. It was raining all day during the move and they managed to complete the work in just over two hours, which was pretty unbelievable since he had quoted me for 3 hours. The BEST PART was that it ended up being about $100 LESS THAN THE ORIGINAL QUOTE. Needless to say I left a BIG tip!! They were ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. A bit pricier than I wanted to pay for a "local" move, but did a great job moving me out of my house and into my new apartment Why the 1 star? Well, my air pods pro that I left on my bathroom counter is missing and 3 of the guys at Move4U used my bathroom with my permission. I called them to ask if anyone saw them and took them by accident and to do the right thing, but instead they gave me a story of how some one was missing a laptop on one of their moves, falsely accused them, bit to only find their laptop later. Again, the guys were really nice, good, efficient but in the end, my personal property is missing. I even waited two weeks to write this review as to get unpacked, search every nook and cranny of my new apartment, back and forth to my old house and searched my vehicle and clothing for my air buds pros and have not found them at all. I know EXACTLY the last place I left them at and now they're "missing". I'm not "falsely accusing" anyone but it is highly suspicious that my property went missing when I know where I last left it and they guys at Move4U was the only other people in the apartment besides myself. I also tipped them all and bought them lunch as well. It's a shame because they do deserve at 5 stars for moving me, but when things go missing and you know in your heart where you left it... well, it's a shame. UPDATE 4/21/21 After my initial one star review, Move4U reached out to me to make things right. It was apparent that they care about their business and reputation more than anything and would go to any lengths to make a customer completely satisfied and happy with their services. After some back and forth and sharing of our personal ideas and beliefs, he offered to replace my missing property without any expectations of me and based on his response, reaching out to me and making me whole again, Move4U deserve, especially Dan, has my utmost respect. I told Dan that I did not want to think that I was in anyway extorting them into changing my review. I am as honest and trusting as one can be, but he told me that he didn't think that at all of me. Again, he has my respect. I also told him that while he "made things right" with me, I let him know that while the gesture was kind, that there maybe someone not so honest in their crew. He kindly disagreed with me, of course but will be more cautious in the future. And because of Dan, my move to my apartment is temporary but I will use Move4U again in the future when I move into a more permanent residence so long as they will accept me as their customer. I really enjoyed my move with Move4U. Three people came, all wearing masks. They were so efficient with the moves that my 1 bdrm apartment was cleared out in 30 min or so. It was shockingly fast. The bill was also in line with the quote (actually lower than the quoted amount which was already reasonable). I liked how the company accepted various payment methods as well- not strictly cash only like many other movers. They are fully insured and very reliable. I'm not one to complain. I'm writing this because I wish I'd have known ahead of time what I'd be getting. The quote was 2-3 hours, I figured it would take two. After five hours though, they asked if they were done. I said once this stuff is carried down to the truck, ya. The response was, "we've been working for five hours though." I said ok, you can be done. I stayed another 3 hours finishing the job. I ended up paying $1160. They just loaded my truck, i have a one bedroom apartment. When I moved here last year, 3 guys moved me out of the last place and into this one in 4 hours, for $800-with a different company. Despite the good reviews, I would advise the reader to use a different company. I paid way more to get way less. In my experience, it would've been a two hour job. Instead i paid for 5 hours, and worked--myself--8 hours to get it loaded. $1160. read more
