Moveaholics was our choice for a moving company after searching high and low for the best rate and service. Andy, the owner, was absolutely wonderful to work with and I couldn't give him enough praises. We had a bit of a difficult time with the apartments we were supposed to move into, and we ended up having to go with another apartment complex and Andy was so helpful in getting us rescheduled. Nick and Rich were our movers, and they were awesome. They quickly and carefully got our furniture wrapped and loaded along with our other belongings and before you know it they were unloading our last load of belongings into our new place. Really give my hats off to Andrew, Michael & Bama for making my move so easy! One of my girlfriends gave me a referral code which took off a bit of the hourly cost + the truck cost. I received a follow up email fairly quickly the same day I sent a query for a quote. Andrew reassured me that I wouldn't need to sign any paperwork, do anything further with him as our email chain confirmed my appointment. Friday morning of my move rolls around and I'm put into a bit of a tailspin because my internet/tv provider needed to be at the new house earlier than expected. Michael & Bama called me shortly after to confirm my apartment [moving from there] location to begin packing. When I explained the sudden change in plan needing to meet the internet/tv provider at my house, they told me it'd be no problem to meet me there, chat, and pick up the keys to begin packing & moving. The guys were super sweet from the beginning and made me feel at ease just handing them my apartment keys and directions for the correct unit. By the time I came back, they were mostly done [in an hour, whoa!] and were getting down to some of the more heavy items. Lucky for me and them, I don't own a lot of things and they had a really big truck, so only 1 trip was needed. We came upon a problem with some of my furniture not fitting into my front door, so the guys took apart my gate with precision [and put it back together as neither of us had bolt cutters for the lock] and quickly got the furniture in and door back assembled. They made the move so much fun and stress-free. I estimated about 3 hours of work total for my budget, and that's what it came to. I was able to pay over the phone with my card, and received an email receipt a few minutes after payment was processed. Definitely worth looking into them for your moving needs! read more

Don't use these guys. I was quoted a price and then they whined because they quoted me to low. They wouldn't give me a time because "the price quoted was to low so just wait around and we will call you". Even when offer to pay more to get on the schedule for the day they still made excuses. I would like to update my original review of this company. Though we didn't have the best moving experience with them initially and they damaged our dresser. Andrew followed up and was professional and sincere in his communication and handling of the situation. He reimbursed us for our move and came and sent a team to come remove the broken dresser from our house. He also assured me that the people who moved us and who I had been trying to communicate with regarding this issue are no longer part of the moveaholics team. I sincerely appreciate Andrew reaching out to us even though it was months after our move, and I think it shows he really does about customer service and providing a good service. read more

I used Movaholics back in November to help load a moving truck before moving to Houston. Andy was very nice on the phone, the guys that loaded the truck were nice and the price was reasonable. They stacked all the boxes at the front of the truck and put my furniture up against the boxes to hold them in place. That seemed like a good strategy at the time, but when I unloaded the truck, the wall of boxes had collapsed and it became apparent that they had put some of the lightest boxes on the bottom and some of the heaviest at the top. The "wall of boxes" at the front of the truck was also unnecessary as the truck was not full. Andy requested that I rent moving blankets with the truck which mostly went unused. He said nothing about tie downs and it seems that their "wall of boxes" strategy requires them. Bottom line: these guys are good if you're looking for help unloading or loading for a local move, but I cannot recommend them for loading a truck for a long move. read more

My original review is below, but it is important to me to update it. After posting the original review, the owner of the company, Andrew, both called and messaged me to get feedback and to sincerely apologize. It is clear from the other reviews here that Moveaholics does good work that people appreciate. I think we were the outliers with one bad experience. I will say that Andrew's reaching out to me really makes me feel much more positive about this company. He validated my concern that 7 hours was too long, and even offered to refund some of what I paid. I am still in the midst of a cross-country move, and I haven't gotten my moving truck yet, but this review isn't about how the truck was packed. I'll update on that later. I scheduled for 2 hours with two movers to pack my truck. They came on time (yay!), but ended up needing SEVEN hours to complete it. At the end of my two hours, they told me they needed about two more hours which I agreed to. Fast forward, it took longer than that, but they did the work, and I paid them for it. A few days later, I sent an email requesting a receipt and letting them know I was unhappy about it taking so much longer than anticipated. Someone called me within a day or two to apologize for that and promised to get me an emailed receipt by the end of that day. A week passed, and I still didn't have it, so I called to get it emailed to me. Again, I was told I would have the receipt emailed by the end of the day. (I need the receipt for tax purposes.) Another 4 days has passed, and I still don't have my receipt. Also, their website isn't active anymore... Moving across the country is stressful, and keeping track of receipts and various expenses can be tough, but I'm trying to make sure I have everything I need. I reached out to nearly every moving company in the valley for an estimate and not only was Andrew and his team among the very cheapest, but he was so kind and took the necessary steps to explain every single cost of every single thing I needed and then the total. I knew I would get great service when I called and talked to Andy. I felt the rate was fair, after calling a few places for quotes. Andy assured me his best guys would handle my things, and I didn't need to worry. Patrick, Damon and Matthew drove out to my storage unit in Surprise and loaded up my belongings. They met me at my house in Phoenix, and were polite and helpful. Things I owned were well taken care of, and I didn't have any worries. A true testament to what kind of people these young men are, came after the move. During the transaction of paying for the move, my contractor for my house showed up, as did the former owner of the house to pick up her mail. I got distracted and ended up going outside to meet the contractor without finishing the transaction. Ugh!! Where was my mind??? I spent the next 2 hours going through things in the kitchen, and bedroom trying to find my VISA card. I could not find it. Patrick called and said he had it, as he ran the card on the square, and I had gone outside so he waited to finish the transaction, then my Mom who was helping with my move in asked Patrick to move something to another room for her, and he quickly obliged, thus my card did not get returned to me. Immediately, when Patrick told me he had my card,I freaked out! I checked my bank account, as it had been about 2 hours since the move in, and I was out in Scottsdale at another residence. Patrick drove to my location, and I met him and retrieved my card. It was an honest mistake, my fault for not following through with the transaction. I checked and rechecked my account the following days, but there has not been a breach. I think its safe to say, you are in good hands with these young movers. Thank you. read more

These guys saved me a lot of stress! I called this company last minute after another moving company didn't show. The guys were courteous, professional, very helpful enthusiastic and friendly. They were quick. There ended up being some dirt that got on the bottom of my new bed, but the amazing thing is the owner is getting a professional cleaner to come in next week and clean it. Best moving exp in my life!! I HATE moving. I won't ask friends to help, because then I'll have to help them move (2 moves!!) GF and I needed to move to a new city a few hours away. The last movers charged so much that we call Moveaholics just to get some help loading a Uhaul I was going to rent. It was actually cheaper for me to hire them to pack, move, and unpack! Lonniell & David arrived this morning on time, super friendly, and did a better job taking care of my stuff than family members would have. Even better on the unload. Serious, use these guys. After calling many moving companies for a local move from Gilbert to Phoenix, Moveaholics was the last company I called and their price and Yelp reviews were hard to beat. Most of the moving companies were charging an average of $350 for the move (2 hour minimum labor and additional trip charge etc). Moveaholics gave me a quote of $175 for a 2 hour, 2 men move including a trailer!! I have not found any other company that can beat this price. Punctuality: They called me and were right on time. They got to work right away. The trailer: I was concerned with how a trailer was going to both fit all my stuff and get all my stuff safely but the guys were DEFINITELY pros at wrapping all my furniture and making sure all my belongings were safely secured. Overall, the move took 2.5 hours total which included the 30 minute drive from my old place to the new apartment. The ONLY complaint I can give is that once it came time to pay, they had forgotten to pack the square for the credit card and had to wait about 20 minutes for the problem to be resolved. Not a big deal.... I definitely would recommend Moveaholics and use them for my next move. read more

I don't even normally ever post reviews, but this was a nightmare almost from the beginning. Andrew was at first responsive and seemed like he had all the answers and the original price was slightly lower than my other estimates, so we decided to go with them. Big mistake. I got a call 1 day before our scheduled move and was told due to a scheduling mistake they could no longer be there when I needed them, ONE DAY BEFORE OUR MOVE, do you know how hard it is to reschedule and/or cancel EVERYTHING involved in a move in ONE DAY, Andrew apologized but couldn't give me a good reason why they were overbooked for that day, in fact it almost seemed like he just didn't want to HAVE to do it on our scheduled day, like I was bothering him to keep a month prior scheduled appointment, and from there it only got worse, trying to pin him down for another date, which i thought would be within a day or two, became a nightmare of having to call repeatedly to even get him to answer, then TWO MORE TIMES HE TRIED TO RESCHEDULE, before I finally told them I no longer felt comfortable with their services, or lack there of, and that I was going thru another company, that's when things got strange... I received SEVERAL phone calls a day from one of his phone numbers, either just hanging up when I answered or worse, saying EXTREMELY rude and just odd things that didn't make any sense. I don't want to make far fetched assumptions, but I have a son with past drug issues, and Andrew was acting very similar to how my son used to act, and I have to say that I will NEVER use their services again and have told all my friends and family to stay away also. read more

Just had Moveaholics help my parents today. My parents had packed a moving truck and driven it from STL to PHX. Upon their arrival, they needed help unloading. John and Lee showed up right on time, and were done unloading a 24 foot moving truck in two hours flat. They were kind, polite, careful, and efficient! Prior to the actual unloading, I had been in touch with Andy and Zack. Since my parents were driving here over the span of a few days, and they ran into some mechanical trouble with their rented truck, these guys were flexible and accommodating as far as having a crew ready to go. Just finished with the moving of all our big items. Paris and Damon were phenomenal! My husband and I are terrible at moving and not everything got packed up (not easy to pack when you have newborn twins), but since we don't have to be out by a certain date we just had them take the biggest, heaviest items that my husband can't move alone, as well as disassembling my daughter's big, bulky wooden bunk bed. So having just moved to Scottsdale, we decided to look for movers to help bring our furniture and boxes to our second floor unit. We called several companies after our containers arrived and only Moveaholics answered immediately and was able to schedule 2 people to come by around 1 pm. Both showed up promptly, asked where wanted things and promptly began moving items upstairs while I unloaded the containers. Was able to complete the work in under 2 hours and had no problems with anything being dropped or damaged. Both of the movers did their best to avoid anything that would cause damage to our rental unit. They were also very friendly and professional, only taking breaks to hydrate. We were so glad to have Chad and Daniel with Moveaholics help us with our move today. They had a great attitude, wrapped everything and checked time with me throughout the day so my budget would be met. They were very flexible, too and allowed us to bring them things as they positioned them in the truck (we pitched in because we couldn't afford to keep them all day). Thank you for your response but I feel I must clarify a few things. First of all, I did have the money orders and was made of the payment arrangements prior to the move however your website states no payments until the job is complete. Your website shouldn't have false advertising on it if that is not what you actually do. The website clearly states in bold print "Payment for our services is only collected when the job is complete and the customer is satisfied. No deposits, No games." Half a move is not a completed job. I gave you a quarter of what was agreed upon because that was what your driver/mover requested as payment. I had the full payment ready but he only asked for half. That's on you. I paid the full amount at the end of the move as agreed upon. I also never spoke directly with you, I spoke with the guy that delivered on the second half of the move. I also have not received ANY emails from your company and have checked my Spam folder as well. I was never made aware of any windows for time. I was also called on the second half of the move and was told they were 30 miles away yet it took 5 hours for them to travel the 30 miles. When they arrived I was told it was because they had issues with the truck and brakes driving in the mountains. Why wouldn't I think they were being dishonest? They were 6 hours late the first half of the move, dropped 2 boxes and denied it, and were allegedly 30 miles away yet took 5 hours to travel that distance. The noise clearly happened on the first half of the move by the little guy that was new. I was indoors in the kitchen and the other mover was indoors in the living room area. When we heard the crash, the guy in the living room immediately ran outside to see what had happened. I went to the front door as he was coming back in and he said it was a guy at the barbecue area, about 50 yards away. I saw the little guy picking up one of my totes and putting the lid back on. The other tote was at the bottom of the steps. He clearly dropped them. When he came back indoors, I asked if anything had broke and he denied dropping the totes. Clearly he was dishonest as both were when you questioned them. I am glad you have updated your policies/procedures and that is the purpose of writing reviews..both positive and negative to improve your business. I remain steadfast however in my initial review though in that with this move there was a lack of professionalism. Based on your response though, it seems it might be from the top down. These guys are the real deal! I called on a Saturday night at 10 pm with the intent to leave a voicemail for a call back, the owner answered the phone and scheduled my appointment right then. I had a 2 bedroom town home, with four of us living in it, moved in under 3 hours. Alex and Jim were absolute top notch associates. Not sure these are real movers. It's sounds decent enough until the hustle begins. Although on time and enthusiastic (a very short unload) it was almost unbelievable to be financially hustled and intimidated: not only was a tip demanded after one of the guys bad mouthed to owners, but after leaving a tool box behind the same impertinent and demanding mover showed up unannounced banging on the door incessantly as if he had no manners. Clearly there is zero respect for the customer. More stunning is Alex stood outside looking through windows only to bang further with further entitlement. Not safe people. Not good judgment. Moveaholics not only showed up on time- they were actually ten mins early! I was very impressed that the owner himself came and helped with packing up my condo. They were very respectful and even went above and beyond their job to help me pack my kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom. They put plastic mattress covers on my queen size bed and broke down the frame. They even helped clean up after they were done. As a single woman, I was dreading the time it would have taken me to pack everything - days, possibly even weeks! But these two guys came in and had everything practically done in under two hours. Vince and Francisco worked non-stop in 112 degree heat and got the job done ahead of schedule. There was a bit of a mix-up with the original time set for the arrival, but once they arrived they were kind, professional and extremely hard-working dudes, taking no more than a 3 minute pause for some water during the process. This was my third time using Moveaholics, and for a reason. Moving is never fun and never easy, but Moveaholics has always been reliable, courteous, fast and reasonably priced. I contracted MoveAholics 3 weeks prior to my move. Andy (the owner) personally took my call on his cell phone, booked the move, gave me an easy no hassle quote, and gave his word as a gentleman that his quote and company truly strive to do right by his customers. Well, MoveAholics did exactly what they promised. They didn't even try and add in a mini fee, or hidden charge. It was exactly as he said. Andy was not at the move but his mover David knew exactly what was quoted and there was no confusion. It was truly appreciated. As for the move. Andy called an hour ahead of time to let me know they were on their way. They were exactly on time and began right away. They both (2 movers) busted their humps getting my move done as fast as possible. They never took a break, one guy was coming in the door to get stuff as the other was heading out with stuff. They were oddly good at strategically placing the furniture on the truck. I even had some fun small talk with David asking him if he was good at the video game Tetris as a kid because he organized my furniture perfectly so that it all fit like a puzzle. They used large moving throw blankets to cover every piece and were extra careful. Andy even followed up after the move and called me to let me know he appreciated my business and wanted to make sure everything went well. I teach Jr High for a living and MoveAholics gets an A+.
