! Here I am again after reading some of these other reviews. . I didn't even bother to mention how many items that were supposed to go to Storage ended up at our house and items that weren't supposed to be in storage or put into storage got so messed up. They dropped our dining room table and cracked a corner off of it in the driveway, but Ty luckily got someone to repair it. THIS EXPERIENCE TURNED SADLY OUT TO BE NOT GOOD. I already posted yesterday but for some reason my post was not posted. Can help do this. I hired this company and had two young boys doing my move. I explained when the got to the storage ONLY boxes marked kitchen, bedroom and office be put into the apartment the rest to go into a storage unit I rented. It is a smaller 780 sq foot apartment. When we arrived I told them to wait for me because I had to speak to the Manager. They said it's ok we can start. I had to find out the code to get into the building before the doors opened. Instead they put so many boxes that were not labeled and the entire apartment was full of boxes. All of the boxes were put into the wrong rooms too. Especially since they were labeled you would think that would be a clue. They were in a hurry and so without checking e everything or as I call it babysitting they said we were ready to go to storage. Knowing I have a sick dog and I knew I was going to be late already to give her her insulin again I asked them to wait when we got to storage. I don't know what paid by the hour means but to me that if you say to wait. They should wait. I told them to wait again I had to run and give her her shot they said no worries we will put the key under the door. Mind you I thought they were doing as told.i tipped them paid my bill. The next day I called Candace who has a son who did my move and told her they had put the wrong boxes and so far I found two. Ofcourse she said she would speak to him. He told her I said kitchen , office and bedroom. She said they would come back on Monday. So Monday comes mind you I had to extend my stay at the hotel three times in order to try and figure out where the boxes were because they should have come back the next day but she said they are booked. Then Monday she tells me they don't have a truck big enough. Son now I had to pay Thursday, friday, sat, sun, mon, Tues, Wednesday to find another mover I have a receipt for $300.00 to move all of the wrong boxes back to my storage. Along with gas in my SUV. This company is awful. There workers rush you and don't listen. I am on social security. I have had bladder surgery so I should not have been lifting and moving boxes to the right rooms. I have spent so much money on gas, let alone have to run back here to the motel to give my dog shots I am still not unpacked. See read more

The company I work for recently moved offices down the street. The booking process was easy and someone reached out to us promptly to give us a quote. The pricing, although it was not the cheapest quote we acquired, was also not unreasonable. Leading up to moving day there were no surprises, we received our confirmation email, filled out the information, and sent it back. What we were quoted on the phone matched what was on our quote. On moving day, the 3 workers arrived on time and were all cordial. They handled our items with care and moved everything exactly as we had requested. We had 4 offices to move in 2 different buildings and everything went flawlessly. At the end of moving, they asked if there was anything else they could do for us. My desk had been broken in a previous move with a different moving company, so I asked if they were able to take a look and possibly fix the desk. Despite not being a handyman or repair service, they happily took a look at the desk, identified the issue, and promptly fixed it for us. The only small issue we had is when we went to pay. I had asked over the phone if they accepted AMEX, which is the only company card I have. They told me yes, but when I went to pay, I was informed that they weren't really supposed to take American Express. Thankfully, they still ran the payment for me and it all got squared away, but I was a bit nervous for a minute as I didn't want to have to personally expense the movers and get reimbursed. Overall, I had a great experience with Jones Moving & Storage and I would have no trouble recommending them to others. I decided to try this family run business because they had competitive rates. First time I have had movers that did NOT use shrink wrap with the furniture....and it shows. I have damage on many of my furniture items. I decided to not make an issue out of all the damage except for my dining room chairs which were all split and torn at the seams and unrepairable. When I tried to confront the moving company about just the damage to the chairs the owner basically called me a liar and said they did not cause the damage and are not liable. If you value your things I would recommend going with a different moving company! read more

I have used this moving company four times. The first two times, service was above expectations. The third time, one of the workers spent so much time in the truck, the other guy began tossing my furniture cushions and pillows over the balcony while he waited for the other mover to come back up. What took the movers less than four hours previously to move a one bedroom apartment, took this crew five hours. I was moving out of state on the third move and putting my stuff into storage. I had furniture padding, plastic coverings all purchased to help protect my items. The slow worker put a box spring plastic covering over an 18in wide mattress causing many tips and tears in the cover. I said there was one for that mattress which he put on the box spring. They asked me for blankets and used them to put between furniture being stored. I had padding but the person said blankets would be better. I also paid for boxes to put my cushions in. Let's skip to them taking my items out of storage. Multiple deep scratch marks on my console, and rips into my furniture. These were not there previously. Also, I was told I could see the garment boxes back but the movers sneakily took them back after the move. The best part, the movers took apart my bed and the parts to hold the bed evenly, were missing. One of the movers said I took apart my bed and I misplaced them. Sure, that is why the mattress was still on the bed when they came. This company did nothing about the damage caused for bad storage of items and really just took my money and we're done with it. I called several times and was told I would receive a call back. Never happened. Be weary of using them. They do not provide good customer service to existing customers. Update: please do not take the owners response as a legitimate excuse I did not use this company. I did. As I mentioned above, the company was great which is why I used them again and again. They have a black male (sorry to be more concise but this moving company is forcing me to be) who helped me move twice. He is a professional and has lots of knowledge and experience. Nice guy. He possibly had the owners son help him on the first time I used them (I don't recall the story very well). The third time, the guy had another man who spent half his time in the truck " rearranging" which normally took the movers the last two times less than 4 hours to move but this time it was five. When I used them the 4th time, the guys moving my stuff were different and asked who put my stuff into storage. When I said other movers from this company, he said I needed to talk with the owners because the items stacked improperly caused damage to my TV console. Anyhow, you should understand by now having to make more than two calls into them to get an update after the initial report meant they were not going to take any action beyond ignoring me. read more

This move went horribly. They were booked for a PM move. They showed up 3-4 hours early without explanation, while we were in the final stages of packing our stuff. When I asked if they could come back later that day, they claimed we'd have to rebook for another day (not possible). The moving crew was entirely unprofessional. They kept ignoring our instructions as to what to move, leaving closets partly or completely filled without explanation. Each time I informed them of these lapses of attention, they had to stop and move stuff into already packed boxes or mix the items with other boxes. It made it difficult to unpack, since the requested labeling was wrong or non-existent, and goods were put in the wrong carton. My wife is still looking for toiletries and clothing since things were put into the wrong cartons. In all, it probably took an extra two hours for them to finish loading the truck due to this carelessness. Part of that time was the result of being forced to allow them to pack items because of the unexpectedly early arrival. When we arrived at the new apartment, they demanded payment, including the extra time and work they did because of their carelessness and unexpectedly early arrival. When I protested and asked to renegotiate the price, the manager, Candice, threatened to call the police if we didn't pay right away. They wouldn't even take the credit cards I offered, even though their written policy says they do. So I had to rush out and get the cash from the bank, as they sat back and wasted billable time until I returned. This was without doubt the worst moving experience in my life. Stay away -- stay far away from this crew! I cannot believe these positive reviews, because my expedience was opposite, and I can't believe it's not typical. UPDATE! Since my review was posted, Jones Moving & Storage has revealed a total disdain for its customers, posting lies and defamatory comments about me in response to my legitimate complaints. They have totally distorted what I wrote, and claim that I was just looking for free stuff. They are clearly unaware of how to treat customers, and how to respond to customer complaints. Stay away from them. They do not deserve your business. read more

Great family owned company that delivers quality service! I contacted Jones Moving earlier this year for a quote to move us from the Seattle, WA area to Scottsdale. Steve gave us a quote for a dedicated truck flat fee regardless of weight. He also quoted moving a car and packing services. We found the rate to be significantly lower than the national brand carriers. The national carriers wouldn't provide a firm price and would not provide a delivery date because they load more than one household in a trailer. I received weekly emails from Jones just letting me know that they had us on the schedule for the agreed upon pickup date. A few days before our move they confirmed the packing and loading times and gave us the planned upload schedule. On moving day they showed up exactly as scheduled and did a professional job of packing and caring for our items. All of the staff, mostly family, were courteous and professional. They left as scheduled and showed up in Scottsdale 3 days later as planned. We never had a single broken or damaged item and the invoice was exactly as we had agreed. I would highly recommend this family owned business for a interstate move. Great communication, great service and great price. Recently I also used JMS to move a dining room table from Mesa to Scottsdale. They were able to make the move the same day I called, they wrapped and packed the table and chairs with care and delivered them quickly and a very reasonable price. My experience with owner Candace Jones and her crew was nothing short to stellar. The company prices are fair, the crew professional, workers are on time and creative. There is even an extra storage service available in case your agent agent wants you to remove items for staging and showing and you need to store some items. Used a 3 man crew to move a lot of big items from a storage unit in east Mesa to a garage in North Phoenix. The guys arrived on time and were able to assess the items in the storage unit and developed a plan to move everything. Then they loaded the truck quickly and carefully making sure everything was packed tightly and took extra care with the fragile items. When moving over this last summer, I did my homework, vetted several national companies, and decided on Jones Moving, locally owned and operated out of Phoenix and was VERY happy with my choice. They were professional, personable, and loaded a semi faster, more carefully and with a greater attitude - than I could have ever imagined. They had a large loading team that worked through a HOT July morning to get the truck loaded, and were on time with delivering our load in Oregon, and had it unloaded in an afternoon. Not one thing was broken, they tore down and put back together dining tables, beds, etc. Every piece of furniture that should have been wrapped and protected, was. The owner was a master mind as he packed the puzzle that was the contents of our home to ensure that nothing shifted during the trip. We have had Jones Moving move us twice within the Sun City West area and they were excellent. We would consider ourselves somewhat particular as we have always watched over any movers we've used as they handle every item. The Jones Moving employees were prompt, very professional, and handled all of our possessions in the most careful manner. They offered to help us in any way possible as there were many items that my husband and I didn't know how to reassemble. We have a Sleep Number bed and they were very knowledgeable about having it working perfectly. When they left, they made sure that everything was in it's place and as we wanted. They are not responsible for anything. Buyer beware!! They do not know how to pack. I had a box marked FRAGILE and when they did they pack that in a larger box it was put on the bottom with heavier items on top of it. This was a local move and so I had used a lot of smaller boxes. They put the smaller boxes in a bigger box and charge me for the larger box. When the boxes were already packed by themselves. Also they broke a lamp and since it was also packed, it was not noticed until I had unpacked that box. All they would have paid me would have been $0.65 can't buy too many lamps for that price. If I would have noticed while they were still here. Since I paid with a credit card they charged me a 5% service charge. To make matters worse, the math was incorrect and they overcharged me there too. read more

My husband and I hired Jones Moving & Storage recently for our move to a new home after 17 years in our previous home. We'd never hired a moving company before and I had heard all the horror stories. After reading all the wonderful reviews on Yelp and the Better Business Bureau, I decided to give them a call. I am glad I did! We had already received a quote from a well-known moving company that I thought was a little too high. Jones Moving gave me a reasonable price without any hidden charges at all. They were upfront about the cost and also the payment method. The three movers that showed up were polite, efficient and accommodating. They showed up on time, loaded up our house in decent time, were careful with our items and with our homes, and they placed the furniture exactly where we needed it in the new home.
