The father of the chef grows the little tomatoes - maybe grape tomatoes. Not sure. The best tomato soup I have ever had - there were three small tomatoes floating in the soup. So tender (no skin). Wow! Raw yellow tail with two differed sauces that you combined it all together - super fresh fish, amazing sauces - I really can't find the words to do justice for this dish. Even my husband who doesn't eat any sushi had this. And loved it. Seas bass on fava bean sauce - likely the best seas bass I have had. I'm used to Black Sea bass off the boat in Montauk; hard to beat this and they did! Tiger prawn tempora - this was served with a cold beer. Omg. I will never have tempora without a beer again. (I generally don't drink beer.) The batter was exceptionally light, the flavor if the prawn shined. Sockeye salmon on rice - I am not explaining this properly. Wowowow Filet beef with a concentrated au ju - perfectly prepared ... so flavorful. So good. Dessert: tiramisu, two different decadent cookies small and wow. Chocolate truffle (maybe not the right word) but wow We started with champagne, had white wine, red wine, beer, and port. The wines were from Portugal and were sulfite free. And they were spectacular in their own right and perfect pairing with the food. We were here for a big bday cele - it was so special. I will never forget! And I look forward to going back. I wish there were more stars to give. Wish there were more adjectives. I am at a loss at how to explain how good this experience was. If you ever get a chance to go, run there! Her kindness and empathy will never be forgotten. Jaclyn made herself available to me at any time night and day and even on her days off. She ensured every detail was taken care of with much thought and an impeccable level of attention. We had special menu item requests and dietary restrictions which were not only met but exceeded our expectations. Thankful it all went very smoothly given the difficult time and very little notice to plan such a large gathering. Any last-minute changes were accommodated with ease. Staff was absolutely wonderful and beyond exceptional!!! Everyone raved about the delicious food, beautiful venue, setting and overall experience. The dessert was some small pastries and fruit which was presented nicely. It is a very classy place with good service.

You need a map to get around! I recorded myself walking to my room and it took about 2.5 minutes (no elevators and so many stairs). They had a restaurant at the hotel but it was closed for a private event while I was there so I did not get to try it. The parking was down a very steep hill and there really are no sidewalks to get you to the front effectively so I highly recommend dropping off your bags at the top of the hill and doing valet or parking afterward. Room was comfortable but plain. It did what we needed it to do! Overall, the stay was fine but the walk to the room was actually insane and the hills you have to endure (especially carrying all your luggage) made it so that I felt I worked out every time I got to the room or left it. They did have a nice outdoor spot with lights and chairs while I got a photo of. That was really nice to have!

Tarrytown House Estate -- A breakdown of basic housekeeping and room readiness…read more I rarely write negative reviews, but this stay was frustrating enough that I feel obligated to share it for other travelers--especially because the issues weren't minor "preferences." They were basic cleanliness and room-readiness failures that never should have made it past inspection. I arrived and checked in at approximately 10:00 PM after a long day and was looking forward to getting into a clean, functional room and going to sleep. Instead, the first room we were assigned was clearly not turned and not ready for occupancy. The bed was unmade, the sheets were dirty, there were towels left on the floor, and there was trash still in the bin. It was obvious nobody had done the standard housekeeping reset. We took photos because it was so blatant. We immediately returned to the front desk and explained the situation. To their credit, they reassigned us to a suite, which seemed like an upgrade, though it also felt like it may have been the only option left at that hour. Unfortunately, when we entered the suite it became clear this was not a true "service recovery" moment, because the suite had its own set of cleanliness problems that were honestly gross. In the suite: The coffee table was dirty, like it hadn't been wiped down. Several chairs were stained with a mysterious brown substance. Not "a little wear," but noticeable stains that made you not want to sit down. In the primary bathroom, there were pubic hairs stuck to the wall. That last detail is unpleasant to even type, but it matters because it speaks to the overall quality control. A hotel room at this level should have a baseline of cleanliness that makes guests feel comfortable. Instead, we were left wondering what else had been missed. Then there was the room readiness / maintenance issue. One of the televisions in the main bedroom didn't have the necessary cable/connection. We reported it to the front desk, which required another walk back through the property. The response we got was essentially: use the cable from the living room area. In other words, we were expected to troubleshoot and "reconfigure" the room ourselves to make a basic amenity work. At a property charging what this property charges and presenting itself as an upscale destination guests should not be: placed into a room that clearly wasn't cleaned, moved into a suite that has visible cleanliness issues (including in the bathroom), and told to do DIY fixes for basic functionality like a bedroom TV. I have spent many years in hospitality, so I don't have unrealistic expectations; mistakes happen. What matters is how they're handled. In this case, the pattern suggested a deeper issue with housekeeping standards and the room inspection process, and the "solution" provided still left us dealing with conditions that were unacceptable. Finally, what pushed this from "bad night" to "I'm leaving a review": I sent a message to the General Manager prior to checking out and asked to speak. It's now been several days, and I have received no follow-up from management or staff. A property that wants to protect its reputation and guest experience should take something like this seriously and respond. Bottom line: the grounds and brand may suggest a higher-end experience, but my actual stay was defined by rooms that were not properly cleaned, visible hygiene issues in the suite, and an unreasonable expectation that guests should troubleshoot basic in-room equipment. I can't recommend it based on this experience.

Compared to other florists in the area, their pricing is very reasonable. The process was quick and easy. You can even choose which day you want the delivery to be made. My message to my friend was cut off, I called the florist and she was able to fix it right away. The flowers were fresh and so beautiful. My friend was very happy!

Great time here at the Rock Club…read more Purchased a Groupon and decided to visit on a Friday morning. Called ahead and the front desk staff were very quick in getting back to me to confirm that a belayer was available at that time. They also confirmed the Groupon over the phone. I went ahead and completed the required waiver forms online prior to our visit. Adequate parking was available at that time. The Rock Club (downstairs) shares its space with a with a tennis club, so make sure you follow the ramp down toward the Rock Club entrance and NOT the stairs whih leads to the tennis club. We arrived at around 10am and it was fairly empty. The Rock Club staff explained the process and set us up with climbing shoes. We were then introduced to our belayer who was awesome. Over the next hour, we tried climbs ranging in difficulty. The wall heights range from about 35-40 feet and the peg placement and wall angles vary throughout the climbs, making some more difficult than others. We even had some time to try some bouldering. Our belayer was great at explaining techniques and technical terms. She was very patient and very encouraging...though not "pushy" at all. After we finished, the staff was nice enough to show us around to see what else was available at the facility: childrens area, common areas, training rooms and weight rooms. May go without saying...wear comfy clothes. As a regular gym-goer, but someone who has NOT climbed before, this was a welcomed challenge. Certain muscles, particularly the forearms and core, may not be part of the typical gym regimen...but are very important in climbing...that being said, I was definitely feeling it the next day. Overall we had a great experience at the Rock Club. We will deinifitely look into other classes. Kudos to all the staff members there.
