Came here for lunch on a weekend with some friends. The service was great, our server was nice and patient while waiting for us to decide what to order. I think their prices are a bit lower compared to other places like Joey's. We ordered a sweet potato fries for appetizer and I got a chicken fettuccine pasta with no onions. I think there could be more of an improvement for the fries, the portion should definitely be bigger for the price of $11. To be honest, I didn't think it was worth that price and also the fries were small, not crispy which made me quite disappointed. The pasta was decent, sauce was good.

The last time I visited this Moxie's was back in 2018 for my dad's retirement. Came back last night to celebrate my sister-in-law's bday w/ my fam. The layout was the same as I remember. Some of the menu items have been modified slightly (for example, the smashed avocado dip used to come w/ a mortar and pestle to the table, pre-covid, so the customer could smash the guac themselves). The mahi mahi used to be done in a mediterranean style rather than mexican. As a whole though, the food was pretty solid! My dad's truffle parmesan fries were great. The fries were super crispy and very rich. We had also ordered some sweet potato fries which were seasoned well but were too floppy and limp (I did prefer the dill garlic dip that came w/ the sweet potato fries though). There were 2 fish dishes and they were both cooked well. My mom's mahi came w/ mashed potatoes and they were indeed very creamy. My bro ordered the prawn laksa. Tbh, it was just ok imo. The broth just didn't have the depth of flavour that you would typically get. There were also too many bean sprouts and they could've been more generous w/ the number of prawns. I had chicken rigatoni which was quite nice! I could still taste the wine in the sauce (which I'm sure was intentional) and the cheese and garlic bread was a nice touch. The chicken was a lil bit overcooked (it wasn't juicy). For dessert I had brought a birthday cake of our own from a different shop but we also ordered an additional sticky toffee pudding to share. Very tasty and decadent (I heard that they had removed it off the menu but brought it back due to popular demand)! We were served by Nema throughout the night. Very friendly, nice gentleman. I do wish he was available slightly more throughout the night (our water got topped off infrequently and he was hard to find/flag down lol).

I love the overall ambiance here. From the giant entrance door to the comfy booths. Decent plant based menu. I strongly recommend their vegan Thai curry laksa along with tacos for sharing. Service was hospitable. Prices are reasonable. Daily and happy hour specials for drinks.

So I went for a work lunch and it was great. Service was nice the minute I stepped in as I made a reservation. They asked me for my preferred seating and provided that option. A standard booth. The wait staff was great as he came by often enough but over bearing. The food we got was great and prompt. And finally the decor as nice. Not amazing but not cheap either. Would come back again.

I hardly go to franchise locations, but this really surpassed my expectations. I expected it to be average, but I suspect the more "premium" items taste better. We ordered two steaks where we requested medium rare (more on the rare side) and it was cooked perfectly. All of the side dishes were tasty; the truffle fries was an extra $3-4, but it was worth it. I enjoyed the seating environment and the staff was friendly. Considering that there's a wide selection of food, I would say it's suitable for any setting. The only thing I would suggest is for them to cut the end of the peas. I'm not sure if every moxies perform to this same level, but I would definitely recommend this one.

We came with a large group on Monday evening and received a warm reception to make us feel at home. They lowered the music and the heat at our request. Service was fast and pleasant to get everyone their drinks. Appetizers were deep fried pork cutlet pieces, bbq chicken wings, honey glazed chicken wings, calamari chunks and nachos, all finger licking good. Main course across the table all look delicious and my baked salmon came in cooked to perfection and over a bed of wild rice, with lots of colourful vegetables. Too bad, there was not a tiny place left for desserts, but I should have followed the advice of the waitress to have it wrapped for breakfast the following day. Oh Well, next time perhaps.

    Ahi Tuna salad, not recommended

Based on food and pricing, I would give them 3 stars, but because of the service, I'm bumping it up to 4. The staff here are excellent! Very casual and attentive. I've been here a few times for dinners, celebrations, casual lunch, team lunchs, etc. It's a great spot because there's something for everyone from pastas to burgers and steaks. I tried their salad recently with Ahi Tuna, and I do not recommend it at all. The salad was lettuce which is very watery and not something you want a full plate of. The tuna wasn't great quality and I noticed discoloration on the fish. That being said, I'd order pastas, noodles, and burger here and know full well that I'm going to love it. Their savoury meals have great flavour, taste fresh and are always filling. They also plate very nicely so you're eating with your eyes first and that of course opens your appetite! It's a great atmosphere to bring your friends and come with a small party. Solid choice!

Birthday White Chocolate Brownie chocolate sauce, french vanilla ice cream & real whipped cream (770 Cals per serving, 2 servings)

Moxie's Grill and Bar is a staple in upscale casual dining and I'm glad I had it for my birthday with my twin. Appetizers Tuna Poke nutritional information rare ahi tuna, avocado & ginger with wonton crisps (150 Cals per serving, 3 servings) (16¾) Ahi Tuna was fresh, seasoned and mixed in a rich, tangy, citrusy sauce with wonton crisps as a vessel. Calamari nutritional information with tempura shrimp, garlic dip & spicy mayo (410 Cals per serving, 3 servings) ($16¾) The calamari was tender, fresh, herbaceous, citrusy, and crunchy. Portion size was a bit smaller for the price. Entrees nutritional information 7oz certified angus beef®, creamy madeira sauce + pan roasted cremini mushrooms (730 Cals ) ($33 1/2) The maderia sauce had a deep caramel, woodsy, nutty and salty flavor which was a great addition to the steak. I'm not sure if it was an off day but I would say the medium rare steak was very tough which is surprising for an angus steak. Mashed potatoes and vegetables were nicely made and makes the entree a complete meal. Loaded Cheeseburger aged white cheddar, red relish, pickled mustard seed mayo, sautéed mushrooms, bacon & bbq sauce (1220 Cals) ($20 1/2) A juicy, seasoned, hot, fresh and beefy burger. The Pickled mustard seed Mayo completes the bbq sauce and compliments the rich burger. Dessert White Chocolate Brownie chocolate sauce, french vanilla ice cream & real whipped cream (770 Cals per serving, 2 servings) ($10) We got this for free and it was sweet, moist, hot and delicious with the cold fragrant ice cream. The cacao powder "Happy Birthday" was a great touch and counter for the sweet brownie and ice cream. The staff was professional and very kind. Our waitress was outgoing, fun to talk too and caring towards us. Overall, I'm very happy with my choice of going to moxies for my birthday. I am looking forward to my next visit.

The prices listed below reflect the regular menu, though portions at the event were likely smaller than standard service. The evening began with a beef skewer ($31), featuring cubes of barbecued beef glazed in teriyaki and topped with plenty of chives. Unfortunately, consistency was an issue. Other guests raved about how tender theirs were, while mine arrived overcooked. It wasn't inedible, but it certainly wasn't tender. One of the restaurant's newer additions is its aged fish program, so I was eager to try the dry-aged salmon ($33). Listed as a "crudo," I expected delicate slices in a citrusy sauce, but it arrived as another skewer. The texture was undeniably smooth, with the dry aging removing any chewiness, but the salmon also developed a gaminess that lingered unpleasantly. A marinade or thinner slicing might help balance things out. I'm glad their signature Caesar salad ($24) remains excellent. It's beautifully balanced with acidity, savouriness, and thoughtful touches like buttery breadcrumbs and bacon bits that aren't rock hard. It's still one of the better Caesars in the city, though tableside preparation now costs an additional $10. Fans of tartare will likely appreciate the beef tartare ($41), which is prepared traditionally with minimally dressed hand-cut beef. Personally, I wanted more contrast in texture or flavour, though tartare has never been my go-to dish. I did appreciate the accompaniments of buttery crostini and gem lettuce leaves, which offered a lighter way to enjoy it. And for fans like me, don't worry their cheese bread puffs still make an appearance (along with their take home chocolate muffins). What continues to shine at Jacobs is the steak itself. The 40-day dry aged striploin was cooked beautifully, developing a crust that locked in the juices while maintaining tenderness despite being a leaner cut. The seasoning is more restrained, which allowed the volcanic sea salt and chimichurri on the side to actually enhance the beef rather than overwhelm it. The pecorino broccolini ($22) had me almost finishing off the plate and is such a nice accompaniment with the rich beef. The only disappointment was the duck fat fries ($21), which arrived lukewarm and slightly stale, likely a casualty of serving a packed dining room. Dessert ended the evening on a high note. The crème brulee ($21) was fantastic with visible vanilla bean specks throughout the silky custard. The sugar topping was thin and delicate, avoiding that overly sweet crunch some versions suffer from. Served alongside a sizeable chocolate biscotti and a fragrant orange shortbread cookie, it's easily large enough to share. With the expanded dining room, the front-of-house team has clearly grown as well. The staff is younger and fresher-faced, so any old-school steakhouse stuffiness has largely disappeared. More importantly, the service remains polished and attentive, and we were well taken care of throughout the evening.
