We came by after a late movie as it was one of the few restaurants in Yorkdale that was still open. We were greeted and promptly seated. Our server was great and we were able to take advantage of their happy hour promos (2pm - 5pm, 9pm - Close). We got three of their blackened shrimp tacos and Thai chicken salad. The salad was quite plentiful, with chicken, arugula, vegetables, pumpkin seeds, cashews, avocado & crispy rice. The dressing was light and didn't overwhelm the dish. The tacos were not bad either, with each taco having at least 3 large shrimp and plenty of filling. What can I say as a retry for this Moxies? I went with another yelp elite today to try Yorkdale Moxies again. It wasn't the that busy today, lots of seats available at the restaurant on a Wednesday which is half off wine bottle. Andrew was the host and his greeting was, how should I say this?, warming. He even gave me water when needed instead of calling the server. We were served by Karleigh who was absolutely phenomenal with her service. She was personable and really took care of us. She even took her time to suggest and give us her opinion on the drinks and food choices. Food was a lot better than before, exactly how I expected it. The espresso martini was made well, woke me up with a nice kick of alcohol, thank you to the bartender! The chef who made the rigatoni perfectly over all dente and, melted cheese on top, medium steak, and cut up for us, WOW! Thank you! Like I said before I would order the tuna sushi stack again which I did and truly was not disappointed. Fries were the right crisp! As for dessert finally, the ice cream was perfect, didn't come out melted, and I was asked by Andrew if we wanted to have him drizzle the caramel or we do it (I opted to do it myself). I stopped in on a whim to the Yorkdale Mall location while shopping on a Sunday afternoon. It was not busy, as I expected it wouldn't be. The ambiance is nice, with a separate bar area and plenty of dining area seating. I'm from out of town, so this was my first time at a Moxies and I liked that their menu had variety but wasn't overloaded with choices. I went with the Super Greens Salad and a Chicken Alfredo entree. I wanted a side salad but that wasn't really an option, so I got the full-sized portion. It was really good, especially with the quinoa and other crunchy bits for texture. The Chicken Alfredo was pretty standard, but that's not a complaint. Sometimes you just want a creamy, salty, chicken alfredo. Prices are a bit high but not uncommon for this type of restaurant and location, I think. They were delighted to find that my father's favourite dish from the Summerlicious menu had been added to the regular menu: the blackened mahi-mahi. The gentleman who always wears those sharp suits, he's got a great wit and manner about him that makes guest feel comfortable and familiar. There is also a bartender who's really knowledgeable about wines who's charming and always a joy to chat with. The tuna poke, I was expecting a small portion from photos, was indeed small and was not 2 servings as suggested. There was chopped tuna and avocado in a small mason jar, with nori crisps, and ponzu with ginger and spring onions. With my recent two experiences, it has lowered the score for Moxies by two stars. This is typically a go-to spot for my friends and for birthday parties so we come in large groups of 8-10. For my birthday, the server was very pushy and I had never experienced this type of service. He was basically forcing us to get appetizers and desserts by questioning us when we said we did not want it. For my friend's birthday, we were not all given water and when we ran out water, it was not refilled for 30 minutes. On top of that, they were not willing to split the birthday girl's bill amongst us and said that they don't do that. This is untrue because my friends and I have come for at least 5 birthdays. We decided to check out Moxies because one of the girls in our group had been there before and said it was good. It's tucked inside the mall on the lower level, so it's quite dark in there. It felt a bit strange, especially when we left, because it was a beautiful, sunny day. We all had a Bellini and then shared an appetizer before our dinner. You really can't go wrong with a Bellini here. Love that peach slush! We shared the Mosaic dip with pita bread and tortilla chips. It was better than expected. I had the lettuce bun burger with added bacon and cheese and a side of yam fries. Everything was really good. Our server was super friendly and was able to split the appetizer between four bills with no issues. I wish every restaurant could figure this out! My fiancee and I came here to take advantage of their Valentine's Day special menu. We ordered a bottle of pinot grigio to drink. The server brought us our glasses but took another 10 minutes to bring our the bottle. At least the wine was good but a common theme throughout the night was that the service was bad. We ordered their roasted tomatoes and whipped feta for our appetizer. It came quick and tasted great but the server forgot to bring us our cutlery and napkins before we started eating. Last weekend I made my first trip to a Moxie's Grill & Bar in about 4 years while shopping my way through the Yorkdale Mall. This place is tucked away and has it's own separate escalator that takes you down to it. The restaurant itself looks really cool and has a great atmosphere to go along with it. We seemed to arrive just in time because soon after we were seated people were being put on a 30-45 minute wait list (We came close to the mall closing). The menu here is very large and offers everything from pasta, burgers, salads, soups, steaks, seafood, and pretty much everything in between. After much deliberation I decided to be simple and go with the double stacked turkey club with a side of french fries. The food didn't take too long to come out and when it did I was pretty happy to dig in. The sandwich itself was a pretty standard turkey club, but good none the less. I have been here more than few times, some of them were nice and smooth, some others were not that great! As your buzzer starts buzzing, the host will walk you to your table. One of the times that I've been here, my family and I literally sat there for about 20-25 minutes with no one showing up to our table, no menus, no water, nothing. After reaching out to the manager, we started getting an A+ service, multiple servers at a time, etc...which is great, but this shouldn't be the case at any restaurant, especially at a successful restaurant like Moxie's. The manager did everything he can to make our experience a better one, they also offered to take a couple of things off the bill to make up for the delays, and the service was flawless afterwards. but that one experience left a bad taste, and have not gone back since, although I used to be a regular at this location, and many other Moxie's in the past. This is one of my go-to restaurants in Yorkdale when I'm meeting friends for brunch or after shopping because it's conveniently located and it's consistent with the kind of pub food I like. Basically, a good burger and fries! And really fast, friendly service. I have taken my mom and my aunts here too so it's good for family. There is an escalator to go down into the restaurant and because I had seniors with me it was nice to be seated in the dining area and not in the bar and lounge area with the high booths and a problem to get in and out if you have knee problems or difficultly getting up. Really like the option of the sports bar and dining area so you have options on noise level or whether you want to watch some sports. We had a very friendly server who was very polite and very attentive. For my main I got the Beef Dip Sandwich with fries. The sandwich was roasted beef, sautéed mushrooms, horseradish aioli and Swiss cheese served in a pretzel bun with a cup of au jus. Food was expensive and the service was sooooo slow. $23 for a veggie burger as fries??? It was just a big mushroom!!! I probably wont be going back. I asked for water for water four times and It never came!!! Server was unattentive!!! read more

At this location I ate better than the other locations, the food was great and the meals were looking great. But the service was not too good, the restaurant was empty and the servers didn't care, just kept talking in the corner and had no attention to our table. read more
