I was looking for a spot with fresh, flavorful food, a relaxed vibe, and maybe a little something extra to keep my teenage nieces and nephew entertained. MATCH Market & Bar checked just about every box. Before we even ordered, the kids were already wandering through the little market area, which turned out to be half the fun. They found a locally designed jigsaw puzzle, grabbed a few unique snacks for later, and suddenly I had bought myself a few uninterrupted minutes to look over the menu. Parents, aunts, uncles... you know those moments are priceless. Now let's talk about the food. We went all in. Salmon, steak, fresh salads, wings, tacos, appetizers, a sandwich (don't ask me which one because everybody was reaching across the table stealing bites), fries, and every plate was a winner. Everything tasted fresh and had just enough creativity without trying too hard to be "chef-y." It felt like the kind of menu where almost anyone can find something they'll enjoy. My one... and only..,. complaint? The ordering system. Call me old-fashioned, but I'm still a fan of sitting down, having someone take my order, and easing into the dining experience. Ordering at the register, grabbing a table number, and waiting for food delivery always feels a little like upscale cafeteria dining to me. It certainly didn't ruin the experience, but if MATCH ever switched to full table service, I'd probably become a regular. The atmosphere was easygoing and welcoming. We visited early in the afternoon, so it wasn't buzzing just yet. We enjoyed our meal, caught up on family gossip, laughed way too loudly a few times, and then headed out. I noticed they host live music and other events in the evenings, though, and I have a feeling the whole place takes on a completely different personality after dark. If you're looking for a casual lunch with fresh food, good ingredients, and a downtown location that somehow manages to avoid feeling chaotic, MATCH is absolutely worth checking out. The pricing was fair and appropriate for this area, so that was a plus. It's the kind of place that's equally good for a quick bite, meeting friends, or bringing out-of-town guests who want something a little different. Will I be back? I think so. But next time I'm coming in the evening. I want to see this place with a cocktail in hand, music playing, and a little more of the energy that I suspect makes MATCH shine.

About the place the direction they were going and how to be an artist if I wanted to dabble a bit!!! Good looking out for when I left my computer mouse at bar staff one morning. Ha ha ha. The hotel restaurant is trendy and the menu is solid. Prices are reasonable and food all tastes darn good!!! Rooms were large and very open!!! Keep this in mind if rooming with someone. Bathroom is frosted glass walls. FYI. It can get a little noisy at night. lol. Pool is nice, no life guard. But also not that large. Pleasant. All in all I had a good stay here 5 nights! I would love to do it again!!!

Room: I booked a single occupancy room, but ended up getting a room with double beds. When I tried to correct it, I found that it was almost impossible to do so. There were too many bookings which meant I would've been shuffled around, which would not have been comfy. Another interesting thing is when I inquired to the front desk about it, they seemed a little confused at the question and didn't really have answers, except that a one bed room would mean playing musical rooms and would cost me more. Moral of the story: read the fine print. It says Single Occupancy, but that could mean double beds. Because I was traveling alone, this was Truly a nice to have more than a must have, so I didn't make it a big deal, just thought it was strange. My room was clean. The restroom was stocked with nice towels and the mini fridge had 2 complementary bottles of water... a super plus when you are traveling. The shower was spa-like and it had 2 shower heads (1) rainfall from the ceiling and (2) a regular detachable shower head with a hose... Great for washing your hair. The water pressure and temperature were a dream. I absolutely loved the rainfall showerhead from the ceiling UNTIL I saw the green things that build up overtime on the jet openings. Gave me a yuck moment, so I went back to using the regular degular shower head. Annnnnd my deadbolt thing didn't work which made me kinda antsy. Good thing I travel with my own lock. Parking/ Transportation: there is no airport shuttle. Good to know that airport if less than 15 minutes away from the hotel. I didn't drive or park, but I did see a parking deck. Didn't quite catch the price. Others: There was free wifi in the lobby and the room and plenty of desks to work at in the lobby. Although the desk-like table in the room did not come with a chair. That was strange as well. Breakfast is not free, buuuuut you can drink all of the coffee and tea you want on the house. Service: Everyone was pretty hospitable. No issues here. Ambiance: Hotel vibes with cool music rocking. Was excited to hear some of my favs piped through the speakers. Notwithstanding the minor things mentioned, I would actually recommend this hotel, especially if you have an event or just want to explore downtown Phoenix!!! There are quite a bit of things in walking distance, so there was no need to Uber all over the place.

We had the opportunity to attend Sunset & Sparks at Vīb Hotel Tempe, where guests enjoyed an evening filled with rooftop views, a buffet dinner, complimentary cocktails, lawn games, live music, a photo booth, and of course, fireworks to end the night. As much as we love our usual Independence Day traditions, this was a refreshing change of pace. Instead of rushing around, we were able to slow down, take in an incredible Arizona sunset, enjoy some good food, listen to live music, and simply spend quality time together. The buffet featured grilled chicken, burgers with all the fixings, creamy potato salad, coleslaw, fresh toppings, patriotic desserts, and plenty of drinks to keep everyone cool throughout the evening. Sometimes it's not about doing the biggest celebration--it's about finding the right atmosphere to relax and enjoy the holiday. This rooftop event delivered exactly that. Thank you to Vīb Hotel Tempe for inviting us out to experience Sunset & Sparks. We had a wonderful evening and loved seeing another unique way to celebrate the Fourth of July in the Valley.

The first thing I noticed about our room was the layout. Typical hotel rooms have the headboards of the bed against the wall. Our room was totally different. There was a long desk which was the headboard of the bed and the foot of the bed faced the window. As a result, there was very little space between one side of the bed and the wall. It wasn't a big deal but worth noting. Our room was clean and quiet which was appreciated. I also really liked the fragrance of the body wash and lotion. It was definitely a little detail that I noticed. All in all our stay was comfortable and relaxing. If we are back in the area we would probably stay at the Vib Hotel again.

I appreciated how the long mirror and walls had several hangers which were really convenient. There was a water and ice machine on my floor but it was sadly out of service. Rooms are cleaned every other day by default. The only downside to my experience is that they only do check ins after 4pm. I was placed on a waitlist to see if I could check in earlier but it didn't really make a difference. I don't think I've been at other hotels with these policies before and I would have reconsidered my hotel options had I have know earlier. They do have a bag check service. There is valet parking for sure and I believe there may be self parking as well. The lobby has several computers and several couches/tables as well as restaurant/mini store area.

Walkable to restaurants, Trader Joe's, ASU Tempe campus, light rail and buses and transportation center all right there. Town Lake and office complex a few blocks away. Free breakfast every day that's pretty good and varies a little each day with free coffee and other morning drinks. Has a workout room with a great view. Very friendly and helpful staff, went out of their way twice to fetch sweetener and ice. Small convenience store next to front desk. Reasonable daily parking fee that includes unlimited in and out privileges Cons: On a five night stay, housekeeping only checked on us 2 days. Needs small repairs here and there. Example: 2 or 3 drawers had loose pulls that needed screw tightening, saw a weather strip partially detached from door frame. Small workout area had limited equipment. One treadmill was broken one day and I had to wait an hour for the treadmill hog on the only working treadmill to get off despite posted 45 minutes max use rule. Other equipment like weights a bit limited. They allow pets and one day we had to deal with a barking dog somewhere morning and night. We complained twice and the hotel staff could only say they tried and that people are not supposed to leave their pets unattended. Bella from light rail every five to fifteen minutes if you get the southern/western side of the building.
