So on a Thursday in early December my landlord decided that EVERYTHING in two rooms below our loft apartment had to be moved...immediately. I could not imagine where to start. Those two rooms held everything I owned in the world and were the only proof that I exist; the things mothers and grandmothers keep - family photos, scrapbooks, paintings by my mother, diplomas, certificates - the things that cannot be replaced. I asked my boss who had a palatial home and must have had some experience in moving and she recommended Moyers Moving without hesitation since they had moved her things over the years and she was supremely pleased and confident in their company. On Friday, my boss called Moyers Movers for me, as I was still frozen in fear with this level of immediate change, and the two estimators from Moyers Moving, Gordon Moyers and Dan Cumberland, appeared at my loft within 30 minutes. Dan Cumberland had been a longtime friend and it was a comfort to have someone I knew start this process. They were both wonderful, professional and informative. After they left I went to Public Storage and rented a 12x30 ground floor unit, the biggest one they had and all the way home I knew my things would not fit in there, that they would be subject to moisture, mold and mildew and all varieties of varmints. As an old MBA, the math was easy, it would take two units, twice the hours to load, drive and unload, and the rental amount would go up by 20% in cost every six months, it was in a seedy part of town and my things would be eventually be ruined by an uncontrolled environment or eaten by mice and bugs, especially my mother's magnificent painting; I started thinking that I have watched one too many episodes of Storage Wars. On Sunday I called Jason Moyers at home and asked if we could switch gears and have the items palletized and stored with them instead to taking them to the Public Storage unit, to which he said absolutely. On Monday morning a three-man crew showed up. They too were kind and courteous to this helicopter client wanting to look in all of the boxes and "help". They worked tirelessly, around me, all day with no breaks, packing my things with meticulous care and when they left, they cleaned up the entire area. They made an almost traumatic experience a truly pleasant one. My beloved things are now stored at the Moyers Moving warehouse in Clarksburg, palletized in a climate-controlled, bug free environment with a generational family business dedicated to caring for my things as I would have cared for them myself, probably better. It says a lot about a company whose generations choose to stay in a family business given so many other options these days. I would recommend this business in every way. read more

We had a company move in August 2014 and were introduced to the service of Moyer & Sons. When it came time for our next move on our own, we had no doubt who we would turn to and trust to move us. As always Moyer & Sons, could not have been more pleasant and accommodating to use even during a pandemic. Kevin met with me twice via FaceTime to go over our items and answer my countless questions about how we should pack or breakdown items. I loved getting to meet Lina when I went to the warehouse! I went to the warehouse to pick up supplies, the gentleman assisting me putting the boxes in my car, was so helpful and worked so hard wearing a mask in the heat! When the day came to move our items, the crew leader Rudy, called me to let me know what time they would be arriving. It was amazing to watch the crew come in and lay down mats to make sure our floors didn't get dirty. The four employees, worked efficiently breaking down our items, creating an inventory list and packing the truck. Each employee had outstanding manners and were above and beyond courteous to us. We knew that it would be Rudy meeting us at our final destination. He checked in with us to make sure their arrival time worked with our schedule. We were so happy to see the Moyers truck show up at our new home. During our delivery we had 3 employees and their efficiency was amazing! Again the mats were put down to protect the flooring, all of their wrapping tape and any extra materials are cleaned up at the end. It was a little sad to see the team leave because we had such a nice time getting to know all of them! To summarize, I have had friends and family members have nightmare moving experiences and at no point was I ever concerned about Moyers. Their employees are trustworthy and were all considerate of the precautions needed to move and interact during a pandemic. Moyer & Sons takes all the stress out of such a stressful experience. If we ever move again (don't we all say that right after a move?) we will definitely use Moyer & Sons again but next time we will have them pack for us. read more

I recently used Moyer and Sons for my move, and my husband and I couldn't be happier with the service! From start to finish, the team was incredibly efficient and responsive. They made the entire process stress-free and smooth. The movers were friendly and professional, taking great care of all my belongings. We were especially unprepared the day of the move because we had a baby, and I didn't pack all items in advance of moving day. They were able to work around me and my husband doing the last minute packing and were still super fast! The did pack up the kitchen, which was such a big help, and they did a FANTASTIC job doing so. No items were broken during the move. Their in-person free estimate was spot-on, which was a huge relief since we have used a different company in the past and they ended up charging us nearly 30% more than the estimate. Moyer and Sons even traveled a significant distance (from Clarksburg I think to DC) to provide this estimate, showing their dedication to customer service. A special shoutout to their customer service team, who were always available to answer my questions and provide updates. At one point, I thought I had lost a few important items, and they were incredibly helpful, supportive, kind, and patient while we worked to locate them. Thankfully, I later found the items, but their support during that time was much appreciated. The Moyer & Son team (3 movers) showed up on time (early start to beat the heat for this July 1st love) and very professional. When they arrived we did a walk through of the space and they got straight to work. The care the team showed for our belongings and the home were impeccable. We were packed and out quick knowing that the bigger work was ahead. The movers took a quick break between moves and we even expected a well-deserved linger lunch break. This new home was 4 stories tall, all above ground. Not only that but the bulk of the storage was on the 4th floor so these movers had A LOT of stairs to tackle. Let me tell you, not one single complaint. The amount that they can carry and their lifting strategies show their expertise. Our furniture was moved in perfect condition. Moyer and Sons took precautions to preserve our home including laying down plastic over the floors. They were attentive and patient about where any non-labeled items should go. For such a large move our walls have minimal wear/damage. Leading up to this move was very stressful and I was feeling very anxious about the whole process. Our experience with Moyer, Moving and Storage was to say the least..... OUTSTANDING. It started with Roy (the estimator) a year ago (Oct 2023). He came out and estimated the cost for storage and also a "mini trip" we needed right a way, to our home in S.C. The price he gave us was reasonable and never changed. After a year I contacted Charna and set up a date for he final move. The date was in August of 2024 and consisted of a 10 day window. A week before the window, I contacted Charna and she put me in touch with Greg for the final move. He gave me a firm date. The day before I received a call from Reggie the driver saying he was ready to deliver. the night before the move Reggie came out and reviewed the neighborhood to make sure the tractor trailer would be able to navigate the turns. I met with him the night before and he told me he would be there at 7:30 the next day. He showed up on time with two other men and started to unload everything. By 2:30 they were done and gone. Reggie and his men were extremely professional, courteous, polite and hard working. They made sure I was satisfied with the placement of everything before they left. Everything was un packaged and place in the appropriate rooms. They also put together two beds and a dresser. We contacted Moyer & Sons about move a third of our household goods to Cambridge, MA with 2/3 of our things put in storage for a year until our new house is built in Arlington, VA. Jose gave me an idea over the phone about the timing and the process. The estimator came to the house in a couple days and explained the process. They then sent us a thorough and fair estimate for everything including the end game of moving items out of storage and into the new house. They also were able to get my goods to Cambridge and gave me a time so I could reserve the freight elevator for delivery into the apartment. The main pack and pick-up days had to be split to Tuesday and Thursday, instead of consecutive days, due high volume of moves. However, Matt Scott, oversaw both of the two different crews and he was a godsend. He calm, kind, understanding, very professional and effective. He explained the process, listened to all of our concerns, and addressed any issue. We explained our concern that walls didn't get bumped up or floors scratched. The whole crew was very careful and didn't cause any damage. On top of that they packed thoroughly and quickly. Arriving on time and finishing early, Everyone in the crew has been kind, professional, and courteous. Moving is stressful, but working with Moyer & Sons has been a true joy. read more

Moyer and Sons provided exceptional service for our complicated series of moves. They also are a pleasure to work with. They did not miss a beat dropping some items off at our children's homes and transporting items from Florida to combine with our stored items. They operate by having a coordinator who is the point person from the first estimate to the completion of the move and beyond for any follow-up. For us that was Evan Wood, who is very knowledgeable and responsive and readily available to talk. He handled all our coordination seamlessly. With the several parts of our move we had three crews and at different times. They were 100% efficient and careful, and very nice guys. We also used Moyer's packers for fragile items and they did a great job. We particularly appreciated how well-protected the Moyer packed items were. Even their admin/billing folks are great. I'm writing to review our recent office move in Bethesda, MD. From beginning to end the service we received was outstanding. The movers arrived early the day of the move and each of them introduced themselves to me. They got started right away. We had 10 movers and 4 trucks and everything worked like clockwork. This was clearly not their first rodeo! Over the course of a long day I interacted with all of the movers and each of them was helpful and courteous. I mentioned that a certain office belonged to the boss lady and that office, in particular, needed to be just right. Moved on 20 September, had removed most of the lighter stuff already but with a bad back from an auto accident in 2006, the big stuff just wasn't going to happen. Moving is like shooting dice, you read reviews and try to make an educated decision but in the end, its all a game of chances. Well, look no further. Moyer's was 5 star plus. The fellas arrived within the time window, were prompt, friendly, efficient and fast. Moved from Timonium to Crofton MD and was done inside of 3hrs with a 1hr drive included. Now that's efficiency. Would use them again in a heartbeat. They put throws on the flooring to protect it, the doorjambs got spring-loaded cushion devices to protect the woodworks and items and nothing was damaged or chipped. They packed the house, moved part to a storage unit and packed a moving truck for this initial move. We recently had Moyer's move us from the East coast to the west coast and it was an extremely smooth and as professional experience that you could possibly expect. They showed up when they said they would, handled all of our possessions with care and they were all courteous throughout the day. We needed to move a very good and very heavy solid wood dining room set that has been in our family to our daughter's home. I called and was able to get the move scheduled literally for whatever day I needed the move to happen. The crew they sent was outstanding. I cannot believe how they wrapped each piece and then plastic wrapped it since it was raining. The two men they sent were so strong! They lifted each piece with ease and fastened it securely in the truck. At my daughter's house, they unwrapped each piece and assembled the parts that needed to be re-assembled. We recently used Moyer & Sons Moving from Rockville to Poolesville. We could not have been more pleased. The crew arrived on time and ready to get started. We also had the crew pack up our apartment. I was impressed with the care they took in packing our items. When we got to the new house, they covered the new floors with cardboard and plastic.
