This place is 5 star fabulous! Everything was excellent! It's a new place, opened in November. so please come and indulge! We had almost everything on the menu and it was superb! I am praying they have a huge awesome summer because this is definitively a spot I want to come back to. We don't get out to eat much any more but when we do, we can only pray that the food is as spectacular as it was here. On weekends, drop by for the "tapas" happy hour from 3 to 5, and I bet you'll want to stay to try the sea bass .. the gnocchi, which are incredible... and try the wontons... and the gaucho short ribs! So I want to start this review by saying I never got the chance to eat here. I saw that a new restaurant came into the square. It looked great online and wanted to support. I walked in with my bff that was in from out of town. We waited at the hostess station, nobody was there but we saw at least two employees waiting tables and bringing food in and out from the kitchen. Nobody greeted us. Nobody made eye contact with us, even though we were trying. We waited an uncomfortable amount of time. Like, really uncomfortable. Finally, we looked at each other and decided to leave. Sea bass was some of the best we've tried. French fries with a ketchup tasting is a nice touch! Pro-tip - their coffee is incredible. My wife and I had lunch at Mozaik this past Saturday, March 29, 2025 and it was a wonderful experience. The food was phenomenal. I had a beer from a local brewery and my wife had a local Sauvignon Blanc. We sat at the bar and enjoyed great service. We also had a great conversation with one of the owners. We highly, highly recommend this restaurant. We will be returning soon. A gigantic thumbs up for Mozaik!!!! read more

Mozaik Sonoma is a true jewel on the square in Sonoma. The menu is eclectic, yet feels thoughtful and cohesive. Every dish we tried was both unique and well-executed. My wife loved her Sichuan Wontons and Prawns, which were bursting with flavor and perfectly balanced. I ordered the Marrakesh Kafta, and it was excellent..the meatballs were tender and richly seasoned, the sauce was layered and complex, and the slices of toasted bread for dipping were absolutely heavenly. For dessert, my wife enjoyed the bundt cake, while I ventured into new territory with an affogato. It was my first, and I can't imagine a better introduction.... simple, elegant, and the perfect finish to an already wonderful meal. Service was equally impressive. Miranda took great care of us...attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely delightful throughout the evening. My other half had the New York strip which was also perfect. We finished our dinner with the butter toffee bunt. Everything about this place made you want to come back soon. Confess to sorrow over loss of Sausage Emporium...every town square should have at least one...however, this is Sonoma and the locals must be stoic in the face of changing tastes..easy to detect the bluebird in the arrival in Nov '24 of Mozaic...blessing #1: under same management as Emporium...hospitality/gustatory professionals whose eye for detail is transcendent...also wicked friendly...the room is a gift to the eye...blessing #2: the new menu and wine list more than holds their own with the temptations readily available at Valley, El Dorado, BV, LeHaye...precious little if any entree overlap...delighted to see crowds forming for the 3-5 PM small plate jamboree most evenings...blessing #3: hasn't happened but it wouldn't kill 'em to put a hot dog back into rotation. read more

We're year-round residents of Sonoma and are so pleased with the new Mozaik concept from Miranda and David. We've enjoyed dining here four times now and have never been disappointed. As foodies, we love the diversity of the menu (Mozaik!), but when it's time to eat, it's clear how well thought out every dish is. Sauces and accompaniments add so much flavor. Wine was the wrong temp, and I'm not being snobby it was warmer than room temp where we were sitting. Definitely stored in the wrong spot. Saw the cook run out and grab carrots from the bar, it was the last thing to come out and the only warm thing. Fish, potatoes and sauce were cold. Burger was the most offensive thing of the night to the point I sent it back. It looked SO sad when it arrived, I cut it in half because we were sharing and it looked off. Cooked to the point that the meat way grey. The server proceeding to mansplane what a smash burger is to me only to finish by saying they've been having issues with their burgers and it will be taken off the bill. Fries had no salt. Side note, all the plates are plastic. If you want to swing through and have a glass of wine at the bar I can see that being fine, but the food was awful. read more

Great vibe and even better food. The Marrakesh Kafta meatballs are crave worthy. I wish a restaurant back home had these so I could have them whenever I want. What a fun eclectic menu. Though small, you could find something for everyone on it. We shared the pot stickers and prawns that were excellent with a perfect blend of sweet and spicy, and like someone would have made in their Asian home kitchen. Also the Moroccan meatballs, spicy and succulent. We started with the fries, which might have been the best ones I've ever had. They are a nice accompaniment to the meatballs. Also enjoyed a Kolsch on tap and an excellent Sonoma chardonnay. The prawns with wontons in a chili sauce is to die for! Another favorite is the Asiago stuffed gnocchi. The social hour is very reasonably priced and you can order a sampling of five different small plates. Miranda has put together a small fun wine list and she tells you about each wine to help you make your decision. The agave based cocktails are beautiful but taste even better than they look. The space is very stylish and comfortable and only enhances the experience. If you are considering going, do yourself a favor and make a reservation!
