Swedish meatballs, mashed potatoes and pickled cucumbers.
    janet l.

I had a delicious dinner of meatballs, fresh mashed potatoes with a side of pickled cucumbers. The rest of my dinner companions couldn't resist the fried chicken sandwich which they said was tender and moist. I highly recommend coming to this family-owned restaurant for your comfort food fix. The swedish meatballs are their specialty and I enjoyed mine immensely. Bon appetit!

Unique and modern restaurant in the downtown. They have a lot of larger tables that everyone can share. All service is at the counter. I tried the Swedish meatballs and they were tasty. They have limited traditional Swedish dishes. There are some middle eastern style wraps and salads that are pretty good. I tried the beet salad with chicken. They also sell some Swedish candies that you can see in the jars. Overall pretty good place and tasty food that is different than what is typically around. Portions are a little small. We had a group of 5 and it's a good casual place .

Stockhome Syndrome A husband-and-wife-led restaurant located in Downtown Petaluma that harks back to the chef-owners' birthplace of Stockholm, Sweden. They've been awarded multiple Bib Gourmand awards pretty much every year they've been open (circa 2019) for their Sweden-by-way-of-the-Mediterranean cuisine. The Good: * Friendly service * Fast-casual: order at the counter, and they bring the food out to you, which is our favorite type of restaurant for lunch. * Interior was clean and inviting * The Bib Gourmand award stands for "good food at a moderate price," and their prices were definitely not bad, especially considering the area. You could easily have a lunch for two for less than $50, which is a miracle in this economy. * Pommes Frites (aka Fries) were fantastic, as they were fried fresh, still had a bit of potato skin on them, and salted perfectly. * Small selection of beers on tap, but they were quality local brews. * Vegan, vegetarian, and pescatarian-friendly options * The Lamb and Beef Pita Wrap came highly recommended from the Michelin Guide, and it was definitely a tasty bite, albeit a bit dry. It could've used some more of the tzatziki sauce to help in that regard. The Meh: * Carissa was not a fan of the crab cakes with guacamole salad. She said it was something about the combo of the crab and guac was just a bit off-putting, and the crab cakes needed more flavor. * I'm a big fan of French Onion soup, so when I saw it on the menu I knew I had to get it. While it certainly delivered on the cheesy part of the objective, it severely lacked that depth of deep beefy and onion flavor in the broth, as it just tasted like onion water. I just felt like it needed a few more hours to concentrate down to really scratch my French onion itch. The Ugly: * Street parking only, and it can be very tough to find on weekends. It is free, though. So there's that. Conclusion: Maybe we should've stuck to their regular menu instead of their daily specials, as those can be hit-or-miss. Regardless, it's a decent spot to try and I'd probably give them another shot next time we're in town.

Broccolini gyro with sweet potato fries

This place has delicious food. My favorites were the dip platter with three different dips and the beef and lamb gyro. Surprisingly I also really liked the broccolini gyro- it was really tasty. Although the Swedish meatballs and the chicken skewers were not bad, I would pass on it next time. We definitely over ordered so we could try various dishes. Servers are nice although everything is pretty much self service. They take your order at the counter and then bring your food to the table. You need to get your own utensils and napkins. Quaint little restaurant. Will definitely come again.

Casual dining with quality entrees done with finesse. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Their food is done with care and presentation with the use of different textured, colored plates, makes it lovely to the eye. Swedish meatballs, is a comfort highlight. I do adore their wienerschnitzel - it is perfectly fried up and the sauce is savory! Their toasted shrimp skagen, was refreshing and something unique. It made for a nice opening starter dish. Each table has fresh flowers to admire. It was a very pleasant dining experience surely here!

    Lamb and beef gyro pita

Stumbled upon the Stockhome food stand at the Petaluma Butter and Egg Days Festival this past Saturday. They were offering a limited menu of gyro pitas. Service wasn't the fastest, but it was sufficient and the wait time was reasonable. I got the lamb and beef gyro pita without tzatziki. The staff assured me that the hot sauce wasn't too spicy, and he was right, it was almost like your typical salsa adding just a little bit of tanginess to the dish. The pita was filled with lots of thick-cut flavorful meat and fresh veggies. Quality ingredients that made for a satisfying meal.

Stopped in for a quick lunch before meeting with the City. This place is so cute, and a Michelin award winner and felt homey and comfortable from the second you walk in. The inside has plenty of seating as well as a large outdoor patio area. You order from the counter but don't be fooled by that, as the food is amazing! Service was quick and kind and it's definitely a place for a meal with clean ingredients and delicious flavors!

Ambiance is very casual. You order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. Service was very quick! Charred broccolini was really good! It had a nice crisp to it and the fried garlic was a nice touch. Swedish meatballs was what I expected. It was good, but nothing special in my opinion. The frankfurter tasted good, but it was weird. The combination of hotdogs with mashed potatoes and veggies. I've just never had anything like it before! Overall, the food was good. All cooked well, just no bold flavors. I'd be interested to try their other foods.

Food was pretty good. I subbed the fried garbanzo beans and cheese for beets and olives in the salad. The broccolini was tasty and the rice uniquely delicious with fennel. My husband enjoyed their greek salad and bread. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant for all dietary requirements. Good service and basic cafe type ambiance.

    Beet Cured Gravlax

This place is wonderful and is very popular - once you visit it you'll know why. Everything on the menu is unique and well prepared. I had the Cobb salad with a skewer of chicken, my partner had the little gem salad with a chicken skewer. The other person was way more adventurous and had the Beet Cured Gravlax and said it was great. So there you have it - we all had a lovely meal and highly recommend it.

    Wienerschnitzel

Cute restaurant that offers indoors and outdoors seatings. With the price range, I was expecting table service but you order at the counter. Self serve water, plates and utensils area. We ordered Little Gem Salad and Wienerschnitzel. The salad was interesting. Never had fried chick peas before. Tasted refreshing. Wienerschnitzel was really good but overcooked. Portion of it was almost burnt. If it wasn't burnt, it would have been a perfect dish. Potatoes were cooked perfectly. Friendly staff from counter to table servers. They offer papers and crayons for kids.

Immigration has influenced Swedish cuisine, introducing Middle Eastern flavors and foods like kebab and falafel, and the menu at Stockhome reflects that, featuring a combination of middle eastern and Swedish comfort food and salads. The vegan falafel plate was satisfying with crispy falafel, hummus, and a bright side salad along with sweet potato fries. My fried chicken sandwich had moist chicken, tangy homemade mayonnaise, and a brioche bun, alongside tart pickles and crisp potato fries for $18. They do modern takes on classic Swedish dishes too: Swedish meatballs, mashed potato and lingonberry sauce, gravlax on thin crisps, etc. Their blend of Scandi simplicity and Middle Eastern flavors, earned it a Bib Gourmand. It's helmed by a Swedish husband and wife team, formerly of PLAJ in San Francisco. On a weekday at lunchtime, they had a near full house. We enjoyed friendly service and colorful Nordic-inspired decor: comfort food with a twist.

    Lamb Wrap

Michelin star restaurants are only for fancy date nights, right? WRONG. My best friend and I stopped in here for lunch and were SO impressed. When you walk in, the restaurant is light and airy with beautiful blue and yellow, floral wallpaper that make you feel like you've transported to a cafe in Greece. The decor is modern, yet comfortable and cozy. Since there aren't many options of Mediterranean/Scandinavian restaurants in Petaluma, we had absolutely no idea what to order. However, when we approached the counter, the staff was very welcoming and even helped us decide what to get. Here's what we indulged in: *Lamb & Beef Wrap-The meat was tender, pita bread was soft and the flavors of the creamy garlic yoghurt, sour pickled onions and spicy tomato sauce really tied everything together. *Salmon Wrap *Sweet Potato Fries-These were sooo amazing and we dipped it in their special aoli sauce (highly recommend!) For drinks, they offer selected wine and beers. However, I ordered the elderflower soda that I still think about. So refreshing and such a unique taste! I look forward to visiting here again, it definitely deserved it's Michelin reputation. Until We Feast Again ;) ~Mikaela

Couple of mentions that there are vegan options. When I look at the menu, the only vegan item is one salad. Am I missing something?

They can make a lot of their menu items vegan! you just have to ask them what makes it not and then they give you substitutes

The coffee here is actually very good, although I found the drinks to be on the smaller side for the price. It's a cute café with a nice atmosphere, and I can definitely see why it's a popular brunch spot. That said, the vegan selection is very limited. Even looking at the menu as a whole, it seems like most of the dishes really shine because they rely on dairy, eggs, or other animal products. If you're vegan, I don't think this is the best value. There are several other cafés within walking distance, especially around Hayes Valley, that offer more creative vegan options for a similar price. I'd recommend checking those out instead if you're looking for a satisfying vegan brunch. If you're not vegan, I can absolutely see why this place has a strong following. The coffee is excellent, the space is inviting, and it's worth stopping by for a drink since the staff is friendly too!

Overall, it's a solid experience, and I do think pastries are a must if you want to have the best time. I've been here twice now with friends after seeing it consistently popping on the weekends. My first time around, we got the wild salmon bowl, the yogurt bowl, and some pastry that I can't fully recall. Things were good/mid, for lack of a better term. The salmon bowl was definitely fresh, and the flavors meshed well, but I felt I could pull off the same thing at home pretty easily. Most of all, the portion was quite small for the price. My friend enjoyed her yogurt bowl, but the yogurt:topping ratio felt pretty imbalanced to me. One of my peeves with cafe yogurt bowls is when there is simply too much yogurt. It's so important to have a good amount of texture so that you're not left just eating tart glop (mind you, I love yogurt). The pastry we had was completely fine. I can't even remember it, so I wouldn't recommend it. The second time around, things were much better. For one, I was able to get the cardamom bun, which I know is the thing to get. I also got the Kolasnittar and the smashed chickpea spread sandwich. I was a bit skeptical, but that cardamom bun is bomb. A really gorgeous, buttery, pillowy texture, lightly crisp exterior, sweet but not too sweet, beautiful aroma, beautiful in general. Like everyone else, I would definitely recommend. The Kolasnittar was quite yummy as well! I love ginger, and I felt the cookie had a good mix of crunch and chew. The sandwich had the makings of being good, but that bread... is for a certain palate. It's super seedy, hearty, and hard, and also kind of dry. The sandwich filling was nice overall. I wouldn't have been mad at more salt and/or tang, but the bread was the biggest detractor. That being said, it definitely felt healthy and like it would keep me regular lol. So there's that. I have yet to order a housemade drink from them, but they look great. I will also say the other pastries they have look amazing. I'll probably stick more to those two categories in the future!

For years we have been searching for a good set of dining chairs to replace the worn ones at our dining table. It's a bit like the story of the three bears - quality varied greatly from place to place, either quality was too low or prices too high, or the style just didn't work wherever we went. Then one day, we happened to find the time and purely on happenstance on our morning walk, we wandered on in here to find a set of chairs that matched our existing table at a price that seemed quite reasonable after discount. Our shopping experience was low key.. we wandered in, looked all around for maybe 15-20 minutes and once we found what we liked, we actually had to flag down a salesperson to initiate the transaction. We never felt pressured at all during the whole time. The Delivery - PRO TIP WARNING: As Murphy's Law dictates, I happened to mistakenly schedule the furniture delivery on a day and time that I would not be home.
