I love this place! It's hard to go wrong when the cafe is just by a beautiful lake! What I love about this place is the separation of the cafe, with different vibes! One part is basically a working room, with people on their laptops- right outside there are cool musicians performing and people are enjoying their drinks, the downstairs by the lake, it's more calm and romantic. The indoor seems quite humid and hot too- j guess the best time to go here is during sunset. There's a merchandise you can purchase :) I recommend going on an open mic night. It does get very busy! The performers get called based on a rota system, so some are good some aren't. But you should support for their courage no matter what anyway! read more

Dishonest business. I went to the "Festival of Lights" on NYE and nothing was as advertised. This is no longer a light show, a fact which Mozart's did not make clear. The only downside is I had a brownie once and they accidentally had some of the wrapper which was plastic on it still but just a very small piece somehow. Could have been accidentally eaten . Kind service and people are all pretty nice over there, it's really safe because I've seen somebody reserve their table with a cell phone, keys, and a wallet! ... Unfortunately their Wi-Fi does not work very well, it's really hit or miss and most of the time it does not seem to work. About half of the outlets don't work as well . A very popular spot. WiFi is coverage is so-so in some areas (e.g. lower deck). I was surprised not to see Americano on the menu. The refillable drip coffee is a good deal if you want to spend more time there. I like the proximity of the water and the large deck. Live events can really make this place special. Great selection of pastries as well as other breakfast options (e.g. tacos). At busy times get ready to wait 15 minutes or more. I wish I could spend an hour every summer day out on Mozart's Patio with their signature Frapp. This place gets super busy during the weekends or when they have special events. There's lot's of fun stuff they do especially during the holidays (check out their page on Insta). I love coming here for their location (right by the lake), great coffee and two display cases full of sweet treats! They also serve fresh made empanada with a side of salsa. My favorite is the chile chicken empanada. It's a pretty big serving size wise and can be shared if you wanted to leave space to try some of their desserts. I try to have a different dessert every time I visit because there are just so many to try and they all taste great! This is a fun place to take friends and family when they visit as well. read more

I love eating and drinking outside; I always have, way before COVID. And Mozart's has one of the nicest patios in all of Texas imho. I can sit outside and hang out there for hours and read. I especially love to watch the turtles in Lake Austin. Don't forget to try their cannolis- they are just delicious. And then during the holidays they have their famous, old school light show. Mozart's is a spacious coffee shop next to the lake with a peaceful ambience -- whether inside the building or outside on the shaded patio. Great for studying or just relaxing. I came here the other day and was met with an aromatic waft of fresh coffee beans. I got the cold brew -- which comes in a 20oz cup and is bottomless. There are about 6-8 types of cold brew you can choose from but our server told us if we didn't like the first cup we drank we would be able ot swap out for any other. The types of cold brew they offered were quite diverse, ranging from a vietnamese coffee to a classic cold brew. The coffee is smooth and fairly strong. There were also cold brew samples, and the server in that area was very knowledgeable about whole beans they were selling, which I was interested in purchasing. The patio outside is very spacious with plenty of tables to work on. A large portion of the patio is shaded by large trees looming overhead. There are lots of dogs (always a plus in my book) sitting around the patio with their owners as well and you can even see large fish in the lake by next to the deck! Bathrooms are pretty clean and are located across the deck from the main building. Overall, a really peaceful place and a good get-away from downtown Austin whether you want to do some work, or just relax. read more

I am writing this review because I went to Mozarts with a friend and my 7mo baby. I've been excited to go see this place because I've been there once during the holidays and it's always decorated super beautifully and they have the light show and all. Sadly this place is not "good for kids" and definitely NOT "wheelchair accesible" as they have it on their features. I went with my baby on the stroller today and the wheelchair elevator did not work. There are no ramps on the premises so, I wonder if someone with a wheelchair would want to access this place, would they be able to do so? I had to carry my baby on one hand and on the other hand my friend and I carried the stroller. It was super inconvenient, as we had to take the stroller many stairs down. The savory food it's ok not the best I've tried, their pastries are really good. But is it worth it to go with my baby again? I don't know, I don't think so. What's more frustrating is that the place has under their features that it's wheelchair accessible and good for kids and there are no ramps and is not accessible if you're going with a stroller. Their elevator for wheelchairs doesn't work, so it's super super inconvenient. Definitely, disappointed with this place. The view and the venue is nice because is next to the river but super inconvenient if you're taking a baby by yourself. The service is good, people are friendly but the venue super inconvenient. I wish they make it more stroller friendly and therefore more wheelchair accessible. read more

Mozart's used to put on a really incredible light show in the past.. things have since changed. There's still lots of lights, but the light show is no longer a thing anymore. After my quick trip to the original Summermoon Coffee Bar location, I dropped my first friend off at Franklin Barbecue and picked my second friend up. This time my second friend wanted to visit Mozart's Coffee Roasters and I was pretty much the chauffeur. By the time I got here at 9:30 AM, the parking lot was actually packed and I had to park on the street ($1 per hour.) There's a station where customers can sample different roasts (4 options were available at the time) and they also offer GT's Kombucha. To my surprise, one of Kombucha's flavors was called Cannabliss (Hemp CBD Kombucha - Pineapple, Turmeric, Black Pepper, Hemp Oil , Lime) and my friend ordered it without realizing the drink had CBD & they ran out of other Kombucha flavors. They also offer bottomless hot & iced coffee as well as desserts, quiches, empanadas, assort pastry, etc. *** Latte ($4): It had a nice layer of foam, but latte itself tasted a bit bland. It actually made me miss Summermoon latte I just had one hour ago. *** The biggest reason to come here is seeing the Instagrammable and tranquil view of Lake Austin (right next to the dam) at the outdoor deck, but the latte I had was pretty mediocre and I always prefer good drink over good view. read more

In all my years living in Austin (30) I am embarrassed to admit that I've never ever been to Mozart's. It's not because I am not a coffee drinker, I am, but primarily out of pure laziness to either walk over there from Hula Hut or just didn't want to drive there. Big mistake because I've been missing out. First, the coffee is superb. Very aromatic, smooth and goes down easy without flinching from a tarty taste. Second, their ginormous pretzels are great, their brownies are chewy and very chocolatey. Third, the hot chocolate was Devine. Honestly, I was expecting some mix made with hot water but it was the exact opposite. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Going there during the holidays to enjoy the Christmas light show was amazing. Luckily the weather was cool, stars were out, and a nice breeze blew in from the lake. The deck was beautifully decorated for the holidays. I would recommend going there during the holidays to experience it all. But gotta get your reservations in early as I waited until after Thanksgiving and only late nights were available with standing tables only. read more

Coffee review! We stopped by on a sunny and hot Saturday afternoon for a cold (coffee) brew. Plus 1 decided to brave the Rona and order inside. I opted to keep the car cool (#what_a_guy). Reports from the field were that social distancing and all the mandated guidelines were being followed. It only took about 15 minutes for our Draft Lattes to arrive. I'm not a cold coffee guy but this was one heck of a coffee. I was able to maintain a nice caffeine buzz for a few hours post quaff. I found this brew to be pretty bold and not overpoweringly sweet. Went to Mozart's as a few friends wanted to grab some coffee and thankfully at this time it was too full and we were able to snag some parking. We went around 9:30ish on a Sunday so it was pretty early. Once we got there there were some people ahead of us but the line did not take too long. This place has alot of pastries and cakes and I would definitely give those items a shot. However, since it was the morning I wanted something savory and ended up ordering the chicken empanada. It was good but I wish they heated it more. It also came with a sauce that went well with it! I also had a chance to try my friends vanilla latte which was good but a bit sweet for my liking. You really come for the view more than ANYTHING else. The food is very meh and so are the drinks, but the view is stunning and really beautifully overlooking the water. We got a chocolate chip cookie; an almond croissant, blueberry muffin, empanada and all were fine! The people working the food and bakeries aren't personable because they are really just trying to get as many people through as possible. I wouldn't come because here if it wasn't for the gorgeous view of the water. Expect around a 15-20 min wait to order on the weekends and there is plenty of seating. Parking in the small lot shared with some business is challenging but there is additional parking somewhere else!
