If you blink, you'll miss it. Lola Savannah Coffee Lounge is tucked quietly away in a corner between the Grove and a lash studio. What I enjoyed about Lola was the peace you can find here in the early mornings. Unlike most coffee shops these days, there isn't much chatter, and if there is, you'll find it at a minimum. Our barista was kind and patient, as he not only took our order, but also made our drinks, and brought my food to the table. You wouldn't expect tacos from a coffee shop to bang so hard, but they do here! & the salsa? *chefs kiss. The perfect pairing. Their coffee is phenomenal and is a great pick me up that is perfectly brewed with lots of caffeine. It's also a really cute place to chill with a charming interior, cheerful staff, and free wifi. What really worked well for me is that it was the perfect place to wait while my dog was getting a bath over at ScentHound next door. Decent amount of parking out front since it's in a little strip center. Albeit this place is a bit out of the way, but still worth the trip to me! read more

So many great reviews about this place so I decided to send my son to pop in and pick up a latte for me. When he asked the staff where the outlet was at to charge his phone while he waited, he was told "go figure it out." Staff needs to be trained on customer service. Whatever your policy is, whether you do or dont allow others to use your outlets, it is a coffee place after all where people can sit and work while drinking tasty coffee, there is a way to convey your message respectfully. Will never go there again nor recommend it. It's so sad that due to this kind of staff behavior, owners lose out on customers. read more

I was meeting a friend there, and decided upon this place. I have been to the adjacent THE GROVE restaurant which is a great place for food. When THE GROVE is not open in the AM, you can use the seating of the bar area since the two joints operate under the same owner. It was a good place for a meeting, a little loud, but that is ok since we were contributing to the atmosphere :) Was really disappointed in the coffee. Now I just went with the standard drip coffee, and assumed that they would use a good blend to jump start my meeting, but alas, I made the wrong decision. Wowow. This space is chill. Plenty of seating and outlets, mood lighting, great selection of food and beverages! A high rise bar in the back and plenty of tables! The service was a bit slow and the barista was not welcoming. When i entered the building the employees didn't even notice me despite the loud bell that chimes when a patron enters so i had to wait to be served. When the barista came over to take my order she didn't even say hi or welcome me. She just looked at me and waited for me to order. And when i ordered everything she didn't even tell me my total she just waited for me to hand over a card which i guess is normal for most of the patrons here, but when you're a college student watching your money you don't want to play a guessing game for your total.. While the atmosphere of the cafe was chill and decent for studying, it was also snobby and unwelcoming. Nothing was unique or special enough to compensate for the uncomfortable first impression. I wouldn't come back again. There are better coffee shops to try in Austin. read more

We shared a decent chocolate chip cookie, a baked goodie that looked like monkey bread with apple and cinnamon...way better than the cookie...mywife enjoyed a frozen blended thingie done right, and I enjoyed a café au laite...also done right but probably misspelled....the concert was spectacular! read more

Their lavender latte was really good and they had a chill vibe atmosphere I could really work in and get a lot done at which was nice. also apparently good for a first date or to meet a bumble match cause there were a couple that rolled through the day I went. The coffee is reasonably priced so that was great especially for the area it's in and because the grove is a little more on the pricey side. I also got the chai. The flavors were good but it was so dang sweet I couldn't finish it because it was giving me a headache. If you can get it less sweet I'd recommend that. read more

I've never gotten talked back to by a barista before. Last time I order a coffee here. Story time: About a week ago I came here for a coffee meeting. I ordered my standard latte, left a $3 tip, and sat down. I was facing the wall. Pretty much every other coffee shop in Austin calls your name when your coffee is ready (Epoch, Medici, etc.). I guess that's not a thing they do here. I kept looking back over my shoulder and, no latte. Weird, I thought, whatever. At the end of my meeting, I go to the counter and ask about it. Apparently they'd just thrown it away because it sat there for 5 minutes. I apologized profusely but they were kind enough to make me another one. You guys are awesome! Today, I had another coffee meeting, and same barista who took my order last week was there. I said something to the effect of "I'll pay closer attention to when my coffee comes out, haha". He suddenly got very serious (and not in a sarcastic-funny way), and made me feel like an idiot. "Coffee shops just don't call out names, that's not a thing." Uh, ok. Yes they do. He then went on and just kept drilling the point forward. I didn't say anything back, I just walked away. The tirade was completely unnecessary. All I know is that I never want to come here again. I left a tip and tried to keep the high road despite the incredibly rude behavior. The whole conversation left a horrible taste in my mouth the entirety of today, which is what prompted me to write this review. Note: I'm somewhat a fan of this place and their coffee, but this is one case where a rotten apple spoils the whole experience. That latte I got this morning might have given me some caffeine but the attitude I got from the barista put a downer on the entire day. I was in a bad mood. Very stressed. Needed to get away and take a break but the idea of sitting in a Starbucks at 8:30PM sounded depressingly loser-ish. This is a wonderful place I came here in the morning with my dog and ordered a shot in the far (yes I'm weird and bring my own coffee cup) and had a delicious quiche. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for great local coffee. I'm about of a coffee snob and refuse to go to chains such as star bucks. Lola Savannah, I'm not really feeling you. Ok, I'll just say that I'm not a coffee connoisseur, so if you are then you can disregard this review. I was looking for a nice place to study and enjoy some coffee. Honestly, I don't really know what I like so people will just make something that tastes "light and yummy". I know that's vague, sorry. When you walk in it's bright at the front, but towards the back it gets quite dark and romantic. That's nice if you're with a date or wanting something cozy. There are 4ish? seats to the right and some comfy chairs to the left as you walk in. That's where all the light is. The seats in the front were taken. I walked towards the back to find some open seating and it was very secluded. There's a big group table and then a few smaller single bar seats in the back. Again, it was very dark. When I got my coffee it tasted... bad. I told them I like chai tea lattes? So they whipped up something fairly similar in a cold drink. Sorry, I can't say what it was. All you coffee people are laughing at me. Anyway, it's not my favorite place or my favorite coffee. But other serious coffee people seem to really like it so give it a shot! I wouldn't say I'd never come here again, but if you like finding open and bright coffee places I'd suggest somewhere else. Out of the 45+ coffee houses that I have been to across Texas, this one easily slides into my first choice. Lola is the kind of place that has something for everyone to do. There's board games for kids (or those who are kids at heart), a wine bar- featuring both great wine and beer options, great food from their partnering restaurant that's connected, and of course-- incredible coffee. I have been there over a dozen times and am almost always beyond satisfied with the service (incredibly friendly staff), and the creative drinks that they make (recently tried a cubano Nutella mocha that was absolutely delightful!) My go-to drink when I go is a cubano vanilla cappuccino and the chicken parm pizza is finger-lickin' good. If you love great coffee, food, and a lively atmosphere, this is the place for you!! 10/10 would recommend it to others! read more

I love the name...love the coffee...love the pastries (mostly the iced cinnamon rolls...thank goodness I don't work in the same shopping strip anymore...I think I'd eat one everyday)...love the wine selection...love the abbreviated menu from the grove in case you're hungry...love the staff... Seriously, that's A LOT of love! This place has a really great contemporary decor - it's quite beautiful to look at. However, it's not stuffy at all - totally casual. In the mornings, they get pretty busy with morning coffee runs, and depending on how busy the grove is - they can get crowded as a holding area at night for dinner. During the middle of the day, it's a complete OASIS. Celebrated my birthday with a medium sized group of friends here last year - it was perfect. Stopped in yesterday for a cappuccino and cinnamon roll...I was one of like 5 customers. Had a delightful conversation with Rachael after she made my coffee - she remembered me from when I worked down the way. Left feeling cheerful, invigorated, and well with the world. Lola Savannah coffee & wine lounge manages to maintain a relaxed atmosphere even with the upscale modern interior design. I personally love the touch of the coffee bean bags hanging from the ceiling. The coffee beans are roasted and shipped from Lola Savannah coffee company out of Houston, TX. The staff here I found to be friendly, informative, super helpful, and pride themselves in quality coffee and coffee art. I got to check out their skills with other patrons drinks, but missed out on an artistic cup as I opted to try some of their lovely cold brew. The WiFi connection was good as well. They have a nice selection of baked goods, and are one of the few places in town to offer a good variety of tasty gluten free goodies (even unwrapped!!). The majority of their gluten free items are sourced from Blackbird Bakery who also makes the YUMMMMMY burger buns for King & Country. I have not had one bad thing yet from Blackbird, it's easy to imagine that your eating the real thing. They serve up some breakfast tacos in the AM which I haven't yet had a chance to try, but I hear are good, they also have a limited menu featuring items from the next door sister restaurant, "Grove". I will definitely be coming here on bad weather Sunday's to enjoy some Java and food while tinkering around on my Surface. read more

I really want to love this place. My coffee was great, my servers were great. It's a nice place to grab a coffee and work for a while. So, what's this places's downfall? Their disgusting ceiling. I mean come on people! I was mortified when I looked up and saw all that dust and dirt clinging to the burlap bags that line the ceiling. I won't be back until that nastiness is cleaned up. Went to this location when flying into Austin for a business meeting. I can always go to Starbucks but I like to try to find local coffee places to hide out before the meeting starts. My coworker said I don't know how you keep finding these great places! Anyway, if back in the area I would totally go again. Good to work, not too much noise. This place is great. It has a more upscale cafe feel to it. I've honestly gotten used to the Austin feel of cafe's with the beat up tables that were probably found in a salvage yard to go along with the staple baristas serving all the drinks. Those places are great and dandy but this place makes me feel a little more refined again. It's connected to the Grove Wine Bar and Restaurant next door so if you get hungry, boom you can order from the cafe, which is pretty sweet. Legit snacks and meals there. Their americano is smooth as heck. I'd come back for that. The place is a little dark if you want to study but it's fairly quiet for the most part. You can still see just hopefully you don't have to do too much tiny print reading. So come to chill, eat or study. It's a nice little discovery in the nicer part of town. I started liking Lola a lot last night - it's low-key, somewhat upscale in an easy metro kind of way, laptop power plugs everywhere, and they were playing Radiohead in the background. I * thought * I was checking out with my latte ticket and the next thing I knew I was sharing an enormous cheese/fruit/nut plate, tasting wines and talking about dogs, moms, and relationships with a stranger. This is 1 of the few places where I prefer their drip coffee over their Americanos. There aren't many options around for coffee, so this is awesome that they're here. Parking can be a pain. Was not welcoming at all and not someone you want front of the house representing your your business. I couldn't get anyone to serve me on the patio had to go in and ask twice was told someone would be out then they didn't come check on me for another 30 min, asked for my bill didn't know when someone would come out again. Food was good and I've eaten Groove before this was a poor reflection of the wait staff... it was painful! I've been to Coffee spot in west lake and service is SPOT ON there! So a buddy calls me at 9:00 and says his building is having a fire drill. Do I want to head over to Lola's for a breakfast taco and cup of coffee? I of course say yes and when I walked in I thought NO! this place cannot have good breakfast tacos. Where are the guys in flip flops and wrinkled shirts, long sideburns and hippie girlfriends? This cant be good. I was so wrong. I ordered a cup of dark coffee,a bacon egg and cheese taco and a bean and cheese taco. We sat down and the bacon egg and cheese taco was way better than most, served in foil on two fresh corn tortillas, I poured the dark roasted salsa over it and was in heaven. Done with that in a few minutes I turned to the filler taco- bean and cheese. I opened it up and was pleasantly surprised to find it was a mixture of black beans whole and refried. Served on a very thin flour tortilla with cheese and some salsa mixed in. Oh sweet Lord in Heaven. It was the single best breakfast taco I have eaten in my 45 years. Bean and cheese, who knew. The coffee was great and in spite of the strip center location, traffic at the intersection and shiny new Range Rovers parked out front I cant wait to go back.
