The cafe is subtle gentle quiet perfect cafe to be doing work all day silent workers are so nice and acknowledgeable. It's always so pleasing to grab a pastry and coffee they are so addicting! I can't get enough of their collective croissant pastries. You can tell through the pastries that they are made with love and delight to serve the community
The bakery treats are great!! I'd go back for those in a heartbeat. It looks like there are good looking drinks like a strawberry matcha and tiramisu latte. The bagels don't necessarily live up to other Austin bakeries but their French onion cream cheese does! Highly recommend that. The cookies were also amazing but get them fresh!!
From Chicago, just moved to Kyle, first time at RC&B today. Here are some of my thoughts: -I'm no scientist, but it seems like there is some connection between this place and Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson (see my pics : ) -My daughters ordered a matcha and a cappuccino, I got an iced vanilla latte. They really enjoyed their drinks and my latte was really good! -We weren't hungry, but wanted to try the pastries. Inside is really nice, if you are looking for a place to hang. Highly recommended!
After pulling an all-nighter for work, followed by Sunday school and church, I was running on fumes. I needed coffee to make it through the rest of the day. I had been wanting to check out a specific coffee shop on the Eastside (same location as our church) and headed in that direction. We stopped too soon and landed at Rockman Coffee and Bakeshop. From the moment you come in from Cesar Chavez, the bakery surprises you. The space has a trendy, welcoming vibe with colorful pictures on the wall along with striking furniture. The bakery is led by pastry chef Amanda Rockman hence the name. The bakery case was filled with visually appealing pastries, including flaky croissants, bagels, cookies, and seasonal specialties. We could not resist trying their limited-time rum cake, which was excellent. Also, service was quick and easy, making the entire experience seamless. Although our stop was inadvertent, Rockman Coffee and Bakeshop left an indelible impression with its inviting atmosphere, visually appealing pastries, and cool neighborhood bakery vibe. We definitely will return...
Was in East Austin and saw that there was no line at Rockman Bakery so decided to pop in. I have been wanting to try it for a while but there is always a long line so had to take advantage of this opportunity. When I walked in, I immediately noticed the display of pastries that all looked amazing. There were so many options to choose from. I was only planning to try one or two and ended up coming out with 5 pastries because I could not make up my mind. You wait in line and order at the counter. The staff was friendly and responded to my questions about the pastries and helped me to make a decision. Some of the pastries I tried were the pecan bar, guava cheesecake danish, everything bagel croissant, seasonal kouign amann an a craquelin. I took my items to-go and everything was packed nicely for the journey home. When I got home, everything tasted fresh and had unique and creative flavor combinations. I was so excited about my haul that I had to take a bite of each one. Overall, I can see what the hype is all about. Rockman Bakery has an amazing selection of creative, fresh pastries. I can't wait to try some of their beverages as well.
The coffee was phenomenal but so was the cherry float! We stumbled into this gem on accident after attending an event down the street. The barista was so sweet and super informed about her menu. The pricing was great especially considering the quality of each drink we got. Will be dreaming of going back!
Ate at La Barbecue & saw this bakery with good reviews. I was also excited about the sourdough choco chip. Overall the baked goods are tasty, but nothing "WOWED" us. We got the sourdough choco chip cookie, corn flake cookie, choco croissant, & a guava cream cheese pastry. They tasted like average home baked goods. We felt that I could've baked the same things for a lower price. The guava pastry was the best sweet treat we got.
Stopped in to grab a coffee and stumbled upon this passion fruit flan. I ordered the flan and a tiramisu iced latte: The latte tasted like chocolate mille- wouldn't order again but I did enjoy the fluffy cream topping. the passion fruit flan was a great consistency but I give it 3.5 for flavor- might not have been what I was thinking it would be. (i've been on a anything passion fruit kick since leaving hawaii and nothing has come close to what hawaii had to offer) . lots of options to choose from for coffe and pastries! I recommend giving them a try if in the area !
I was day tripping from San Antonio and heard very great things about this place. The hype was definitely lived up to and their bagels are so chewy yet fluffy and soft like a pillow. I had a French onion dip smear and it was so delicious. Every other pastry was so great and very fulfilling. The staff were super friendly and were so efficient with pumping out orders. I had the tiramisu latte and was 10/10 best tiramisu latte around. Inside is good space with plenty seat but parking is limited. Nice and cozy though.
Words cannot express how much I love Rockman Coffee and Bakeshop! Since it's opened I've been a returning customer because their pastries are to die for! From their bagels with rotating smears to their chocolate banana cake to their creative coffees everything hits the spot just right. The service is also great with friendly staff behind the counter and while it is small inside, I've always been able to find a seat. What I think I love most about Rockman is that they are consistent. I can go at any time and they will have most of their goods available. That's rare in Austin where a store will sell out after 2 hours. Needless to say please go check this place out!
Overall pretty good experience. The shop is spacious and cute, with friendly workers but the line moves slowly. Regarding the goods, we were blown away by the croissants (both sweet and savory) and thoroughly enjoyed the fun drink offerings. Underwhelmed by the "rip and dip" bagel which didn't rip that well, but the onion shmear/dip was excellent.
ROCKMAN ROCKS MY SOCKS...& my belly & my taste buds. This is such an adorable little bakery. The decor is hip, fun, & welcoming, just like the employees. I have seen reviews about prices being high, but I don't think they are any more expensive than other Austin establishments of their kind. Remember, a place like Rockman is putting out literal, edible artwork. A visit here is never a disappointment, whether just to grab a coffee, a pastry, or a whole lot of baked goodness for friends and family. The quality never changes. You know when you have people come and visit and there are places you want to show them? Rockman is always on our list.
Last Sunday, I visited La Barbecue, and while waiting in line, I stepped away briefly to try the cute-looking Rockman Coffee and Bakeshop. Outside, the green text of "ROCKMAN" shined on the off-white building, luring me in. I also happen to love the song "Rockman" by Mk.gee, so I decided it was only fair to check it out. I ordered a simple vanilla latte, which would tell me if their coffee game was there. I really adore the color inside Rockman. It feels playful, with the colors green and yellow prevalent throughout the interior. The tables and chairs connected to the building as well, and it all just felt cohesive. Even the La Marzocco was green! The coffee just HAD to be good if the vibe was like this. Knowing I was about to destroy some BBQ, I wasn't willing to add pastries to the equation, but they looked incredible. If the coffee hit, I knew I would definitely come back to try them. The coffee hit. The balance between espresso, milk, and the flavor shot is always so important to me in a coffee, and Rockman was up there as one of the best coffee shops I have been to in Austin. Those pastries really look next level, so I know I'll be crawling my way back to East Cesar Chavez soon enough to give them a go. RIYL: Real good coffee, and pastries probably, but I can't vouch for that.
After having lunch at La Barbecue, I randomly saw and stumbled into Rockman while visiting Austin for a weekend. It was also the perfect time for a afternoon drink pick me up. Upon looking at their reviews it seemed like they were known for their strawberry matcha latte, so even being a typical coffee drinker, I opted to step out of my comfort zone. Usually matcha drinks sound gimmicky and easily overplayed with recent popularity, but having the strawberry matcha here was the best decision I made! I could not have anticipated such a perfectly balanced flavor. The strawberry jam is made in house and they don't skimp on the quality of their matcha. Loved it a little too much I visited Rockman for the remainder of my trip to order this one drink lol. My husband stuck to his iced americano but even that was perfectly enjoyable. Will most definitely be back here for our future Austin visits as the drinks here are our new staple. read more
Came in early on a Saturday, you have to pay for parking and it was pretty busy, they could use a few more tables but they do have a bar, it's just right next to the line. There is a decent line but it moves quick. The strawberry matcha was incredible, they have a strawberry jam in the bottom and a strawberry milk, tastes like real fruit. It also seems like no other sweetener was added besides the jam, personally I thought it was a really well done strawberry matcha and to top it off they used crunchy ice. As far as sweets go, get the Texas sheet cake. It may look crazy rich but it's shockingly light and well balanced. That one stood out so much I won't even mention the other things we got. read more

Better than a croissant ... try the kouign amann! So good like a croissant muffin with some crunchy sweetness carmalization. Service was nice and good. Lots of space inside like a cafe to sit and eat. Also tried the blackberry yogurts danish cake (not sure what it's called). Tasted great and only available on weekends. My friend ordered the oatmeal cookie... not your trad oatmeal and was very flat... more of a 3 for that one. read more
Pizza bagel and spice cake pastry was amazing, would definitely recommend. We also got 2 lattes and the coffee was not good, I wouldn't order it again. I ordered a cookie butter latte and could not taste the cookie butter at all. It also tasted bitter and sour. For 2 pastries, bagel, and 2 coffees we paid $44 which is pretty steep. We did love the pastries and bagel though. Line moved pretty fast on the weekend. New fan of Rockman! read more
They have a sign on the door that said there's free street parking on 2nd Street and Clara. Other reviews said they have a 15min free parking in the parking lot next to the shop. Otherwise, it's paid to park at $4.50 an hour. The employee was very nice and recommended some good items to try. The cashier was kind enough to mention there's free water near the door. The ambience is nice inside and feels clean. They have a menu of drinks with prices but there's no menu to see the pastries and its prices. No prices for the pastries anywhere and I don't see how that's appropriate given their pastries prices are steep. It's fine if the prices are reasonable but it's offsetting when it's higher than expected. A sauce size of schemer is $4 and a tiny bagel is $8.25. I don't love that as a customer and I would like to not support that as a norm at bakeries. I don't understand why that makes sense to not list the price of the pastries and expect customers to blindly agree to whatever price they set it too. It's inconvenient to the customer to not display prices. Customers don't want to as the prices of individual pastries and employees don't want to remember them. The employee recommend a cucumber ranch and I had no idea it was $4. Yea you see the prices when they ring it up but it all happens so fast, it's hard to check everything. Oh yesss this is the best bakery in Austin! We've tried a variety of croissants, kouign amann, oat cookie, nut horn cookie, golden milk danish, and best of all the guava and cheese danish. Literally the guava and cheese is my favorite pastry I've had in Austin. We had tons of Cuban spots living in Florida that specialized in guava and guava and cheese, and have been missing it here in Texas. This is IT! The staff are friendly and there's a parking lot next door. After 6 pm everything is half off! 10/10 obsessed with this place. read more
Great interior vibes and service! Came here on a whim after getting brunch and was attracted to their many offerings of baked goods. I got their sourdough chocolate chip cookie and the churro croissant. In my opinion, the cookie was great, but the croissant was meh. It was neat to have cream inside the croissant, but maybe I did myself a disservice by not heating it up, and so it felt dry and not very flavorful. Would rec the cookie though! They have a handful of other things that I would still want to try, namely their basque cake - I've heard great things about it. Clean space to grab a pastry and a cup of coffee. The place was cute, and the pastry selection is a great one! I got the brown butter cinnamon roll, and it was absolutely delicious. I also got the Tiramisu Iced Latte, and it was so cute! My dad used to say the recipe to a good tiramisu is tasting all 3 flavors (coffee, chocolate, and lady fingers) at once. So, the fact that they included a lady fingers was a wonderful touch. I hosted my run club from here last week and it was PERFECT! Their social team is so sweet and the staff inside are so kind. The pastries were delicious, and honestly this was THE BEST latte I've ever had... and I've had a lot of coffee in my lifetime lol. I can't wait to be back! Allow some time for a line on the weekends. Easy parking in the lot or street parking too. It was my friend's birthday and they had a candle for her pastry and even brought out the blow torch from the back to light it. Great place! Within walking distance of ladybird trail. read more

This is a really cute coffee shop with a lot of desserts to choose from. I really loved my chocolate croissant. They also have interesting latte options. I wish I had gotten the coffee that had a cookie. I think it was a tiramisu latte. The parking lot next-door is paid parking, but we just parked in the neighborhood nearby. read more
The sourdough chocolate chip cookie was the clear highlight and is an absolute must try. It strikes a perfect balance between sweet and salty. While the banana chocolate walnut cake was also delicious, if you can only get one thing, definitely get with the cookie. The strawberry matcha was another great choice. It was not too sweet and very refreshing on a hot day. The service was wonderful as well. The employee at the front was very nice and gave us excellent recommendations for our first visit. The atmosphere was clean and pleasant, and it was a great overall experience. read more
We ordered the strawberry matcha, sour dough cookie, and banana chocolate coffee cake. The sour dough chocolate cookie was probably the best cookie I have had!!! Definitely get this!! It's also their most sold out item and popular item. The cake was alright as well. Mainly chocolate flavor with nut textures but not really tasting the banana itself or coffee. Matcha was alright. A nice spot! I stopped in before my flight for some last-minute pastries and really enjoyed my experience. While the line was long and did take a while the place was not overly crowded and we were able to sit down to have our pastries. The pimento scone was surprisingly good - wasn't something I was planning on grabbing, but was intrigued and very happy I did. The chocolate chip cookie was to die for and definitely the best thing on the plate. The Kougin was good, but honestly, it didn't really impress me too much and I wish I got something else instead. Staff was so friendly and ambience super cute and casual. Overall would definitely recommend Rockman to anyone in the area and will 100% be back the next time I'm in Austin. read more

This place was hyped up so much I had really high expectations. I'll start with what I loved: the hot banana oatmilk chai latte - absolutely hands down delicious. Now for what I didn't love - I ordered many pastries and was majorly let down. The snickerdoodle cookie was hard and stale; the oatmeal cream pie used cream cheese frosting I think and I absolutely despise that type of frosting so it was a no from me. The cinnamon roll had the same issue - I was not a fan of the frosting. The churro croissant was also just okay as well as the cake. I would come back and try more coffee but I did not personally enjoy any pastry I got ($50 worth) read more
Rockman is a charming bakery and coffee house featuring fresh-baked bagels, coffee cakes, cookies and pastries, breakfast croissants, coffees and teas. And they have beer, wine, and carafes of cocktails. I ordered a hot matcha. For $10 ($6.75 for the smaller size + $1 oat milk + $1 for vanilla + tax and tip), it was a miss for me. I don't mind paying that much for a deeeelicious cup of matcha, but my order had small clusters of unmixed matcha powder; the quality of the drink was lacking and didn't match the price. Also, $4 for a side of schmear is just uncool. It was more than the actual $3 bagel. Paid parking is available in their lot, and a few spots are reserved for 15-minute grab/go orders. read more

Well, thank goodness this isn't close to where I live or I would be coming ALL the time! We had a poppyseed/almond pound cake and a kouign amann. Both were amazing! We will definitely be back to try more items, but don't walk, RUN to this place! It was so clean and organized. Bathrooms too! Service was great. Came here with a friend to grab a drink and warm up and we both really enjoyed Rockman! I had a chai latte which was very nice and my friend tried the s'mores croissant which she said was great. I absolutely love this place for their drinks! I'm obsessed with their salted caramel cold brew and their strawberry matcha! This place is a true definition of $10 a drink in Austin but it lives up to the hype in my option so it's a splurge. I do enjoy their dip bagels and cream cheese! I tried different cakes and pastries but can't find one that I like but they are popular and known for it. The service is very nice and prompt! read more
After hearing so many great things about this place, I finally decided to stop by on a Sunday. I arrived about 30 minutes early fully prepared to wait in line but lucky me, there was no line! While I waited in my car, a noticed this man taking photos of cars parked in the paid parking spots. He kind of startled me because he was wearing street clothes. He waved me off and so I rolled down my window to ask what he was doing and he said that he works for the parking company and he was issuing tickets. He waved me off because I was sitting in my car. He was nice enough to tell me that Rockman's does have a few 15 minute parking spots that I clearly missed. Upon entering Rockman's there is a huge note on the door regarding parking and I attached a photo below. Since this was my first time, it took me forever to decide, so I got the following: Ham/cheese/mustard croissant, apple almond croissant, cinnamon roll, white sesame bagel with loaded lox, chocolate chip cookie croissant and a chocolate chip cookie latte. OMG...everything was DELICIOUS! So much so, that I went back 2 weeks later and tried churro croissant, almond poppyseed lemon cake, pecan bar, everything bagel with garlic herb smear, seasonal basque cake and the everything bagel croissant. Again, just wow.My absolute favorites were the white sesame bagel with loaded lox, almond poppyseed lemon cake, pecan bar and the seasonal Basque cake...holy heck! read more

Found this place on Yelp when craving a sweet treat for breakfast and Rockman didn't disappoint. I don't think it's possible for them to make a bad pastry here. I do recommend the oat crack cookie and their chocolate chip cookie with sea salt. They also have some crazy croissant creations too. I will definitely be back! read more

Have you ever indulged in something SO incredibly scrumptious you just want to close your eyes and remember that moment for the rest of your life? Or maybe scream for joy! This was my experience, eating at Rockman. Not pictured is my favorite thing on the menu - the pecan bars. I ate them too quick! They are to die for! The bagels are INSANE! Have you ever heard of a kouign amann? Chef Amanda Rockman must have the keys to the most amazing recipes on earth, or a gift from God to create and bake them, because her pastries will send you to heaven and back. I've never experienced such joy of eating non-savory food as I have from this shop. I wish I got to try some of their specialty hot beverages. Next time! Thank you so much for existing, Rockman ATX!
