So glad I've discovered this very honest repair place (discovered it by reading yelp reviews). Several times I've brought my car in for something that turned out to be pretty minor and they took care of the problem and then didn't charge me. That's definitely a sign that they are honest, since a car repair place could exaggerate and/or make up stories about a car needing more work than it really requires. About a year ago they changed my motor mounts for a very reasonable price. On my most recent visit I needed a new windshield wiper motor. They ordered a new one and installed it after the part arrived. Well, they found out that this aftermarket wiper motor was pretty bad quality and they were unimpressed, and they said they couldn't adjust it to where they could keep the wiper arms from coming down too far and hitting the hood. They decided to not put that motor on at all and they returned the part to the supplier. I was charged nothing for that visit. I was impressed by that. A shoddy business might have just slapped on that bad quality motor and not cared about the customer. So about a week later I returned to MP Auto Repair with a used original wiper motor I found on ebay and they installed it. The labor charges on that were, as always, very reasonable. read more

The best customer service hands down! I needed to get a quick check up and oil change before I leave for OKC and Hieu made sure everything was fine before my drive up. These mechanics are honest & inexpensive. I was told by another shop my daughter's Lexus window repair required expensive parts. MP charged me labor only ($70) to reattach displaced component. I also discovered they charge less for oil changes. read more

Along with the excellent Yelp ratings, I have a friend that spoke very highly of MP Auto Repair. I took my son's car in with a problem. They actually had the issue diagnosed and gave me an estimate within about 2 hours. The estimate for the repair was very competitive. It was getting close to closing time & Huu committed to have the car repaired by mid morning the next day. Huu called me at approximately 9:30 AM advising the car was ready to go. This looks like a family business. I got the opportunity to meet Huu's father. My experience with this Auto Repair company was definitely 5 star Yelp and other online customer rating services are definitely one of several tools I use to find companies that I feel good about doing business with. Not sure that all ratings from these online services are totally reliable. I suppose a company could inflate their ratings quite easily. Thankfully, that was not the case with this company. Wowowowow! My AC gave out during the day leaving me drenched! I walked into their office not knowing what to expect...except an extra charge for the "tough odor air freshener!" and instead, I was greeted by Hieu! He quickly offered me a cold drink, took a quick look at my air conditioner and and after seeing what the problem was, came in and told me it would take him about 20 Minutes. In exactly minutes, he came back, said my car was ready, and it was blowing COLD air! Sure enough...it was!! Then, Hieu said it was on the house! He said it was such an easy fix he could not see himself charging me for it. What an honest mechanic!! Absolutely impressed with this place! Give them a try! I was told by a Kia dealer that the noise my car was making was the sound every Kia makes..*blank stare* THEN they said it was my compressor and it would be almost 800.00... *still blank stare*. Ok, I know you think you can't trust a mechanic but this place is totally different. I have gone here for nearly 5 years and trust Hieu completely (I think the owners son). The owner is a little hard to understand, he has a thick accent, but don't let that stop you from coming in, he is a really nice guy and knows his stuff. A few weeks ago I had them replace my alternator and after the work was done I mentioned I needed to clean my engine and asked whats the best way. He said, let me take care of that. He drove off and was back in 15 minutes with my engine looking great, and it didn't stop there, then they got out the air compressor and blew it off making sure no water was where it shouldn't be. I took my car to a new place to get the brakes checked since they've been squealing forever. The owner was so personable. He said I still have 45% left in my brake pads so they don't need to be replaced. He said the squealing could have been caused by air or condensation in the grooves. Went in for a tire fix, turns out they don't do tire repairs, but we ended up locating a power steering leak that's been evading me for months. They replaced the leaky hose then also replaced a belt and even filled the engine with oil. Very quick and thorough work, for a very reasonable price. They charged me $340 for a $124 alternator! I found this auto shop on Yelp based on the high reviews. I let them know that when I arrived. They were very friendly and charismatic, but they charged me an arm and a leg! Maybe because I'm a woman and they think I wouldn't know better? I felt extremely uneasy about the charge I incurred, but was at the mercy of them to get my car fixed. When I researched alternators for my car online, they were less than HALF the price!!!! My name is Samantha and I currently live in Humble Texas ....anywho my car has been sitting in my sisters garage for about 3 years in Arlington. I didn't know what was wrong with it so I called around and received a quote from a guy at a auto/detailing shop he told me my car was going to need a handful of work like an alternator, spark plugs, a battery and some belt thing costing somewhere around $400.00. After playing phone tag with that dealer I decided to shop around and came across MP Auto.....Hugh was extremely professional and told me before he started labor he would give me a call and tell me exactly what was going on. Hugh called as soon as he found the issue which was only a dead battery and oil change. I was so relieved that he was able to fix my car and he even came out in the middle of that horrible ice storm on a Sunday so I could pick my car up....the only issue I have is that he is in Arlington and not Humble.
