Okay guys. Sugaring. It's kinda awesome! Gary N. was some kind of wizard, very fast & methodical (which is what you want, Get 'Er Done!) and a consummate professional. Facilities very clean & very safe, & the studio is located near everything. I came to consider "sugaring" when I happened on it searching for alternatives to shaving (been keeping myself closely shaved since summer but was unhappy with the quick regrowth, itchiness & beginnings of ingrown hair, yikes! No bueno!) Sugaring is apparently a safer, more organic alternative to waxing, where I can get that smooth result (with no live skin cells lifted as opposed to waxing) with gentle regrowth that will take a long time to come in. I was curious but a little reserved: will it hurt? what's somebody handling me gonna be like? will it hurt? LOL. Rest easy guys. It's not completely painless (you are having your hair lifted out by the root) BUT it was only mildly uncomfortable & was over fairly quick (Gary's fast!) the results? Couldn't be happier! I'm spic & span neat, very natural hair-line, & I won't be expecting regrowth for some time. A little tender the next day but some lotion smooths that out just fine. Do your self a favor. Very happy to have found Oskar while searching for some last minute help. I went to see him for the first time about 2 weeks ago before taking a trip. First, I was pleased he could manage to see me with very little notice, as I was traveling in just a day or two from my phone call. Then to make it even better, he is just the right combination of personal and professional when you are in his studio. And the best part was that he gave me great service ... going above and beyond even. I went to have my back done and have had both waxing and laser done for this in the past. It seems everyone else is always looking to get more money from me when I mention doing more than their quickest treatment, such as my shoulders or arms. Oskar however, has the same idea as me about complete coverage. He did my back as far as he could reach on either side and I was willing to allow down my bum, my shoulders (practically to my elbow), and my neck as well. To top it all off, the sugar removal was maybe one tenth as painful as any other treatment I have had. Sugaring is much better than waxing, and Oskar is great at it. He's totally professional and puts clients at ease. The space is great - he just remodeled it. It's in a basement space on West 27th Street that is extremely private. I have been going to him for a few years now. He is a master at sugaring and tries to minimize any discomfort as much as he can. I have referred friends to him and everyone thinks he's great. Whether going for your back, chest, butt, or other body part, you can expect cleanliness, professionalism, courtesy and privacy from Oskar. For those who might be concerned about pain when sugaring the butt and/or groin area, I have to say that Oskar is speedy and thorough. While obviously you cannot totally eliminate sensitivity in these areas, you leave feeling great and without redness. I have never regretted my decision to sugar instead of wax and would recommend Oskar to anyone who asks. read more

Well let me begin by saying beauty is pain.. I've never been waxed a day in my life before but after experiencing Sugaring, I can tell I wouldn't have been as satisfied with the results I've received from the sugaring technique if I were to undergo regular waxing. Bearable it can be but most of all very intriguing as well as interesting. The Esthetician; MarKeith Parks that had also performed the technique, were being mentored properly and thoroughly throughout the process, even though the mentoring wasn't needed. He made me feel very comfortable and assured me every step of the process that everything went perfectly from beginning to end(Minus the little breathers I had to take for myself lol) .My legs have never felt so smooth. MPM is my new go-to place for waxing. Gary was very polite, friendly, and incredibly professional. He has clearly been doing hair removal for many years and it showed. I love that this place is run by two gentlemen, and serves only gentlemen - it is not a spa, which I really liked. First time trying sugaring and Oskar was amazing throughout! Felt very comfortable and glad to see these types of services being offered for men, by men. I've been used to waxing previously, and sugaring is definitely a much smoother, and less painful experience. Oskar also does a great aftercare procedure as well by applying an anti-bacterial trevent to aid with the healing and prevent any infections. Went to Oskar about a month ago to get sugared, and it was such an amazing experience! I was smooth for weeks. Oskar was very professional and efficient, he made me comfortable the entire time. After getting sugared I had slight irritation (I have super sensitive skin), and I texted him and he was kind enough to give me remedies and product recommendations, and they worked, and the irritation cleared after a day. I unfortunately can't get waxed again until after I'm done with my accutane treatment, but once I am I will definitely be back. I highly recommend!!! read more

I had my 1st sugaring session with Geo C. and I must say that his customer service was great. Despite him being a little late, he notified me about the delay in advance. During the session, he took his time and was gentle yet quick with the sugaring process. However, I do wish that he had reviewed my notes about my skin sensitivity and the specific services I wanted beforehand. Additionally, he forgot to get the after-cream care before leaving. After many years of grooming and man-scaping at home, I decided I needed to have a professional session. My experience with Oskar was awesome! He removed hair from the areas I wanted done but did so strategically so it would look natural with the areas I wanted to keep. I was never comfortable around Oskar and could never figure it out until recently. I preferred Gary anyway whose sugaring was faster and less painful. Then he was gone in a flash. I ran into him in Hawaii recently and he told me Oskar refused to issue his final paycheck and I absolutely believe him 100%. Under no circumstances will I ever patronize a business where the owner won't pay his employees for services rendered. Not cool. Not cool at all. Bye bye MPM! read more

Oskar takes great pride in his work. Sugaring is the best technique for comfortable and painless hair removal, and is really an art form. Having used all different types of waxing formulas from Bliss to the former Nickel Men's Spa, sugaring is the only wayt to go and there are limited people who know how to use it properly. Seamless experience with the least pain possible . Extremely discreet venue and professionals. I'm a hairy guy and I have been here many times. I did my arms, shoulders, back, buttocks and crack. Certain body parts, to get sugared, request positions that one could potentially really feel uncomfortable in front of strangers. But both Gary and Oskar are excellent in making one feel at ease .
