First off, it's been years since I've been able to have seafood because of celiac disease. I asked our amazing server if they had gluten-free food and she shared that anything boiled was gluten-free. The excitement hit my face. THE half pound shrimp with a half pound of sausage cooked with Cajun seasoning was amazing. Was badly craving a seafood boil and saw Mr and Mrs Crab had good reviews so decided to check it out myself. I came in the afternoon and there was no wait to be seated. I was immediately greeted and the servers were attentive the whole time. I decided to custom make my boil as I have some seafood allergies and it came out amazing. The staff are also knowledgeable, as the waitress was able to guide us through the menu. Was leaving Universal studios and wanted to grab something to eat off property. This was close by and had no wait on a Saturday night. The restaurant was semi busy. We were able to get seated right away. Staff was friendly. Out order was taken quickly and there was a short wait for the food to come out. Everything was pretty good. The catfish was hot and fresh but lacked a little seasoning. Cajun fries were ok, but I'm not sure why they are called Cajun. I was expecting more seasoning on them. The crab legs were good but it was so hard to get the meat out. Meat was stuck to the inside of the legs. Hard to get a good crack on them. Overall not a perfect visit but not horrible. We were in Orlando for an extended stay and have been trying lots of local establishments. My daughter wanted seafood and Mr and Mrs. Crab was near our house. I am so glad we tried this place. We went a little after they opened so we were seated right. My opinion is this use to be a different type of seafood restaurant and the new restaurant just kept the decor because it didn't feel like the decor fit the restaurant but I could be wrong. Seating was plentiful and our server immediately greeted us and brought water. We ordered some half shelled oysters steamed to try for the first time. I don't eat oysters so this was a surprising option from my experience but maybe that's normal. My daughter and brother thought they were very tasty this way. It was Botha first experience with oysters. My daughter had a crab leg and shrimp with Mr and Mrs crab special season blend, my sil had the same with boiled egg and sausage added, my brother and I had fried shrimp and fries. The food came fairly quickly and smelled amazing. I had to try one of my daughters shrimp because of the smell. Both boils were highly seasoned and wasn't the normal garlic/lemon/spicy options see at most boil establishments. This had a unique smell and flavor almost like a curry or cumin flavor. Cant really figure it out but absolutely delicious. My sil agreed and we all think this was the best boil seasoning we've ever had. My shrimp were delicious, large, seasoned well and fried to perfection and the portion of fries was huge. The star of the show was the boil but even more so the seasoning. We then got one of the pre-made boils and it did not disappoint. We got it with he Mr and Mrs Crab seasoning and mild spice. Two of us happily split this and left more than satisfied. This restaurant was not my first choice but it was close to our hotel so we paid them a visit. It was a big place, lots of tables, a little dark inside, I was a little skeptical but gave them a chance. I've eaten here twice, and both experiences have been great. The service is prompt, the food comes out exceptionally fast, and the food quality seems to be generally good. The crawfish tasted fresh and were sizable, the corn was very sweet, the shrimp were cooked right and the mussels were good to me as well although you lose some of the sweetness and briny flavor in the boil sauce. I wasn't fond of the calamari appetizer, was too chewy and rubbery, and the lobster was overcooked in my boil. Seeing that this is a popular Cajun seafood chain around Orlando, we decided to give it a try. The restaurant was not very busy when we got there around dinner time, and so we were quickly able to sit down and order. We got a combo that came with lots of shrimp, mussels, and one blue crab. The shrimps were so big and plump! We regretted not getting more shrimps since they were the easiest to eat, unlike the mussels and crab which required more patience to get the meat out. The corn and potato were also soaked in the flavorful garlic sauce and tasted really good. This place had a late night happy hour menu after 8:30pm, during which all of the house cocktails only cost $4! This was probably the cheapest cocktail happy hour that I've ever came across, and they had a good selection of cocktails including sex on the beach, road runner, mai tai, and margarita. Apparently road runner was the strongest and least sweet out of the cocktails, and it really was a great drink given the price. Maybe it was staffing issue, but we waited for a table and then waited again after we sat and waited some more just to get some utensils. The whole time the restaurant wasn't even full. They don't really have it on the menu but it's the crab legs, shrimp, a lobster tail, and potatoes and one piece of corn. I came with my family and we wish we could say better things about our visit, but there wasn't too much that impressed any of us. We are all huge lovers of seafood and wings and that's what we mostly ordered. I went with naked cajun wings, which was definitely the highlight of the meal. Crispy wings with a cajun rub. Had lots of flavor and were huge in size! My father ordered breaded buffalo wings. They were also big in size and heavily breaded, but weren't evenly sauced with no sauce at the bottom to dip the un-sauced parts. Calamari was nicely breaded but had no trace of salt or anything to dip it in. Fries were straight cut and had that curly-fry taste, if you're into that which I particularly am not. My husband ordered the fried shrimp and the breading didnt have any flavor and were very greasy. My mother ordered a single crab cake and it wasn't worth it for the price. Mushy, no flavor. We were hoping their house sauce (all of their sauces mixed) would be a great addition for flavor but the taste was unfortunately strange and was just a big bowl of oil. We wish we could say better about the food. The service wasn't good either, slow as it looked like there was only one server on taking care of everybody. Some wrong food was brought to our table and half of our food was delayed. We went without napkins or drink refills for a long time.
