If you're needing a quick burger while you're passing through Wisconsin, this place is great. Quick service, good food, lots of beer. My traveling companion and I each got burgers - I got a burger but with beer cheese sauce on the side, and your regular lettuce, onion, tomato and pickles. I was disappointed they don't cook the burgers to order, and I think the burger patty could have been a little bigger - the raw onion rings on top were thicker than the patty. But it was all still good, and that beer cheese is fantastic - dark, indulgent, thick and cheesy. My companion got their house-made kettle chips which were plentiful and crunchy. Our server actively rolled her eyes at us a few times, which was rude and we couldn't figure out why; we didn't know what we wanted within two minutes of sitting down but it's not like we hemmed and hawed or anything? And they weren't that busy, even for a Friday night. It's also super cold in there! Make sure you check if you've got an air vent above you, because if you do, you'll need to wear your zipped up coat. Finally the bar keep noticed me sitting at a table without a beer and sent a girl over. Sat for 5 or 10 minutes before the pretty blond waitress came over. We also tried a couple of unique beers and ciders. Service was good and patient with our little one. They are also easily wheelchair accessible. This location is preferred over the Verona location as the tap list is more diverse and bigger. Being a chain, the food was relatively the same as the other locations I've been to. As for the staff, they are much more pleasant and well trained than their Verona counterpart. Polite and attentive, their knowledge on their beers is much better. Went for lunch to have a burger from a "burger place". They don't cook a burger anything other than medium well or higher. The burger was bland and not seasoned, the fries were bland and not seasoned. It was a pretty despicable burger super thin. They do have a huge beer selection but as far as burgers go, you can find a better one at Burger King. read more

RUDE! LIARS! CALLOUS! Called earlier in the day, and was told food was served until 11p. Went in at 10:45p after returning from an all evening event, and they said the kitchen was closed. Understand if you close early on a Tuesday (and you provide that notice during the enquiring call), but this was Saturday. We had a big group wanting take out food, and they virtually spit in our face. All of us used to have a favorable view of Mr. Brews, but now all dozen of us are never visiting any of their locations again. One of our favorite places in Dane county. Kind of hidden, unassuming but really comfy inside. A good menu of beers, rotating new brews regularly. Burgers are some of the best in area, other good menu items are cheese curds, sandwiches and some good salads. We especially like the friendly atmosphere. read more

My husband and I stopped here for a late lunch as we were traveling through town. We love craft beers which is what drew us to this place. They have numerous craft beers on tap which was awesome but the wait staff and food was not as impressive. It was 3:00 on a Subday afternoon so it's not like the place was busy. Our waitress told us to find a table and asked if we wanted to see a beer menu. We told her yes so she she brought over an Ipad, scrolled up and just left it on the table and walked away. It would have been nice to know if we could get samples at the very least, since this was our first time there. Several minutes later she asked what we wanted and we each were able to try our selection. We ordered burgers and shared the pretzel bites. The pretzel bites came out quickly and were delicious. The burgers came out a few minutes later and we were both put off by the odd texture. They were edible for the most part - I wasn't able to finish mine because it just got to me after a while. I have never had a burger so crumbly and "moist." (I hate that word, but that's the best way to describe it.) Our waitress never checked on us again until well after we were done eating. The beers were good and the pretzel bites were awesome but neither are worth going back for the less than stellar service and moist burgers. read more

I got my car serviced at the Honda dealership nearby and they suggested Mr. Brews Taphouse. Lindsey (Lindsay?) was our bartender and she's super affable and knowledgeable with beer. She let us try a few samples and steered us in the right direction for the types of beers we enjoy. I've heard from the Honda dealership to try the burgers. We only had the shoestring fries but it was delicious! We will definitely be back to try more food and beer! read more

I discovered this place this summer, and was very pleased with the beer selection and the servers. After one visit, I noticed that there was tax on my beer. In my subsequent visits, I've asked several servers, including one manager, why there was tax on alcohol. No one could answer. Finally during one visit, the owner was in. I asked him why there was tax on alcohol. I tried to explain that I was a server for years and we always excluded alcohol from tax. He tried (very badly) to explain that most other places decrease the price of the beer and then add on the tax to make it an even price. When I pushed him on it, he got quite angry, and told me that was why I was paying so little for my beer. This didn't make any sense at all, and I laughed, also since I was drinking a Lake Louie for $6/pint. I could get that beer anywhere else for less than that. Then he got even more mad and mentioned something about him having to pass on the tax to his customers and then something about covering credit card fees. Ah! Perhaps this is the way he subsidizes his credit card fees? Any good owner knows that's the price you pay to do business. As he walked away, he mentioned that very few places do this. He's right! I found out very few people do this for a reason. I called the State to figure out if what he was doing is illegal. Technically, it's legal. But it definitely is not best practice. The word they used was, "shady." What he is doing is passing on the tax of beer he purchased to the customer and then making the customer pay tax on that! I could see what kind of guy he was by the way he talked to me. According to his employees, he's not exactly a nice guy. Next time anyone goes into Mr. Brews, ask the owner why he taxes his alcohol. See if you get the same reaction, or if he's able to explain it to you. I doubt it. read more

Great beer selection and delicious food. Fries are spectacular. A little more expensive than burger joints but no comparison in quality.

I have never left a restaurant so angry. My waitress was wonderful, the beer was good, and the food was good. Well what the heck, why so angry? When we first sat down for dinner there were others eating around us. They began to leave then the band showed up. Great music, I like music. I began think I would stay have another beer and enjoy the music. Then my food arrives just as the the band began to setup, moving all the tables around me, setting up speakers and stands all around me. I was surrounded with now where to go. I hate when someone invades my space and I was unable to enjoy my night. They were standing over top of me were I couldn't even lay back in my chair. They ruined my dinner for me and I will never go back. If the manager knew there was a band playing they should have blocked off the table I was at, or at least notified me when I first sat down. read more

Great selection, staff knowledge of brews good. FAIL on customer service. The patron should not be an after thought. When a bartender looks at you and does not understand if a customer has not a drink in front of them, or an empty glass, how that is not a call to action; why is that person is still employed? My husband and I went here at 3:00 on Sunday, we just wanted a quick snack and beer. There was a table full of drunk and obnoxious people that were screaming and singing at the top of there lungs. It was pretty awful to listen to. The server was very nice and attentive, the beer was good. We ordered the chicken tenders and fries, it was HORRIBLE. I couldn't eat more than half of a tender, it didn't even taste like chicken. The fries were so greasy and soggy I only ate a couple before giving up on the entire meal. Bartender, I think Cheyenne, was incredibly rude throwing/sliding the food at us, while slurring her words (probably had a long night), and didn't get any of our orders correct. Not quite ready for prime time. While the waitress was very nice, service was unbelievably slow. They don't have the full menu that the other locations have. We ordered a couple orders of family fries with seasoning. Neither had the requested seasoning. One person ordered a burger w/o the bun. It came out w/o the bun and w/o half the fixings. Another ordered the bacon Mac & Cheese burger. The Mac & Cheese was cold. We asked for separate checks. 3 of the 5 checks were wrong. We just paid so we could escape. The place is quite bare. This was emphasized with the two high pitched screaming children that came with their parents that just kept laughing and shushing them. We won't be back anytime soon. If we want to go to Mr. Brews we'll be going to Monona. read more

The beer selection is great however it was the service that was not so great. My husband and I ordered an appetizer and a burger meal. Our food was delivered, I started eating the appetizer and my husband was cutting our burger in half, as we were discussing if our order was correct (it was very similar). The staff member approaches with another order and stated that we had the wrong order and takes our food from us, gives us a partial correct order. Ok, so now we have part of our order...the staff member then goes to the other couple about the mixup and tells them their order will be awhile, so they walk out. The moral of this story is that "you don't take food from the customers that are currently eating it and you compensate for your mistakes!" They shorted our food order without giving us fries. The staff only returned to give us our bill which I stated all of this information to the staff...and still paid full price. read more
