Mr. Brown's Pub was bustling tonight -- full of families and couples. It was a bit lively (lots of kids enjoying themselves!), so we grabbed seats at the bar, which worked out perfectly. We shared, again the blue cheese burger and wings and enjoyed both very much. The bartenders were personable and friendly, which always makes the experience even better. Chili and hot toddys make for the perfect cozy meal - especially if you are staying at The Sagamore on a snowy Christmas day. If you are looking for a more casual lunch or snack at The Sagamore then Mr. Brown's is the perfect spot. Their menu features a variety of casual pub fare like wings, fries and burgers. They stay open for lunch and dinner, so this is a nice alternative to The Sagamore's fancier restaurant if you aren't in the fine dining mood. My fiance and I shared a large crock of chili topped with sour cream, cheese and green onion. The chili had a delicious smoky flavor and was the perfect cure for a cold snowy day. My only complaint is that the kidney beans were a little hard and under cooked. The best part of my visit was the hot toddy - strong, hot, sweet, lemony and the perfect drink to warm me up. The drink came served with a side of lemon, honey and a sugar swizzle stick which was a very cute touch. Pricing is a little expensive - above average for pub food for sure. But, as to be expected when you are staying at The Sagamore. And luckily, food and service is always top notch. read more

After spending quite a while looking in Bolton Landing for dinner, coming back to the Sagamore because everything in town was booked, and trying a few other restaurants on the resort only to find that they were also full, we finally stumbled upon Mr. Brown's Pub. After such a long search, we were happy to have just about anything. I tried the burger here which was delicious! The fries were made well, and the sauce on the burger added a great touch to the meal. It's convenient if you're staying at the Sagamore. If you can sit outside, there's a nice view. If you're inside, it's loud. The food is okay. We got the chicken quesadilla "appetizer" and my boys shared it. It was big, although a little bland. We also got the blacked Mahi Mahi sandwich and the blackened chicken sandwich and split them. They were also a little bland but were fine. Ingredients seemed fresh. Including the rolls. Sweet potato fries were excellent. The biggest drawback was the extraordinary wait. About 50 minutes for three orders. No bread or rolls while waiting and no one bothered to stop by to check on us or to explain the wait. People seated after us were served before us. I finally flagged down the waiter and told him that if the kitchen took any longer they would have to cancel our dinner order and bring us scrambled eggs and the sandwiches came out 8 minutes later. That's about how long it should have taken to start with, so maybe the waiter forgot to put in the order or the kitchen somehow missed it. When the hostess asked how everything was, I responded, "the food is fine, but took a very long time." In response, she gave me a plastic smile. No apology for the delay from anyone and no one bothered to ask if we wanted coffee or dessert, which was probably for the best since we couldn't wait another hour to be served. read more

Went here for restaurant week, because they were one of the only restaurants that offered a vegetarian selection. Plus, The Sagamore is one of my favorite places. The food was great. Try the hummus platter. They say it's homemade on premise. If they have the chocolate cake, order that with a cup of hot coffee. It's delicious and is rich enough to feed the whole table. We ate here two nights in a row, while staying at the Sagamore and I wish I could bring the place home with us. The steak salad (I substituted chicken for steak) is delicious - one of the best restaurant salads I've had (the roasted tomatoes are amazing!) Since it's the only pub on site at the Sagamore, choices are limited. I had the onion soup and it was pretty good, I was very hungry. We order the loaded fries with pulled pork. There was no pulled pork, there were cubes of what I assume was the pork, and the whole dish was disgusting. The Waitress disappeared after food arrived. When did return with our check, I told her the fries were awful, you could see we didn't eat them, as the plate was still full, she seemed disinterested, so I suggested that maybe she could remove the charge from the bill, and she did. read more

Probably our favorite family restaurant in all of Lake George. Great food that the whole family can enjoy and really fun for kids. We love sitting outside and our kids love playing on the Sagamore lawn while we wait for dinner. All in all a beautiful setting that's great for both kids and adults. read more

We have been coming to Mr. Browns for almost 30 years. We used to love it, now however the best part is the decor that was kept the same Adirondack style. Unfortunately with the new resort, the prices are high and not much as far was worthy of the pricing. The turkey was no better, if not worse than at a diner. My son had a burger, not much substance. Food and service was absolutely terrible. Food took 40 minutes to be brought out and my wife's food was ice cold. I asked for a medium burger and it came out super well done. We checked into our room and decided we needed chow quickly. Of course there was snow on the ground and 12 degree weather which was truly spectacular. We alighted down the stairs to Mr. Brown's Pub and were greeted with a rustic wood decor almost southern barbecue style. There is minimal seating but most seats have a spectacular view of the lake. I ordered the Brunch Burger. It came as a 1/2 pound hand patted top shelf burger covered with fresh ingredients of lettuce, tomato and onion. It also is topped with a great egg that truly balances the meat served on a toasted and slightly grilled bun. I ordered a side of fries that were hand cut and seasoned. This meal truly packed a punch and satisfied this weary traveler. Big Boy says give it a try. read more

Sunday evening, after a day on the lake, we took family and guests to the Pub for a light dinner and drinks. Everyone was VERY disappointed. The "lobster" on the salad was "crunchy" and flavorless (a theme common to the chicken, bacon, and pastrami in other meals we shared on this visit). The prices were reasonable - but the quality was lacking (sorely). We're not likely to visit this establishment again. Having had other, significantly better, experiences in the Sagamore restaurants, we were happy to try a casual atmosphere - but it would seem, so were the chefs on this night - though our server was polite, happy, conscientious, and responsive. read more

The best I can say about the food is, it's OK. Burger was OK. Would have enjoyed a quarter pounder more. Pickle and coleslaw were meh. The loaded cheese fries were "nasty" as my girlfriend described them. Little bits of pork like you get in fried rice just didn't go (menu says pulled pork but was not). Service was OK. Hostess wasn't real friendly but they were busy. Waitstaff was friendly but once the meal came they dissappeared. They did take the loaded fries off the bill after we asked them to, so they got an extra star for that. read more

We had one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had in my entire life here. Took the waiter 29 min to bring us drinks. Appetizers (soup!) took 1 hour to arrive and arrived with meal. Waiter got our order wrong. Several items were clearly not ordered particularly the children's meals which we had asked for first did not arrive at all until well after the fact. We were not offered a second round of drinks. No water. Blackened fish not blackened. For the money you pay to stay at this hotel you expect a level of service that was not provided. I assumed kitchen was overwhelmed but restaurant was not crowded. There were many tables staring off into space who were clearly not getting their meals either. Would never dine here again. We are at Sagamore Resort on vacation and decided to have dinner at Mister Brown's Pub which is located in the resort itself. While my husband enjoyed his meal...mine was one massive mistake! I ordered a Cobb salad with extra avacado with sirlion...simple right? The meat was very chewy and raw instead of medium rare (even then a very, very poor cut of meat). The salad was missing most of the ingredients listed that were suppose to be in a Cobb salad, almost only field greens. There was no salad on the menu that came close. Again my husband's meal was delicious but I am very grumpy because I'm still starving. I'm too nice to raise a fuss. read more

Good American food...had dinner here our first night at The Sagamore because it was convenient and had something for everything to enjoy. We got wings and chili nachos to starts, the nachos were huge and so delicious! We all enjoyed our meals as well. I got the salmon burger, very fresh. The beef stew, which 2 people in my party got was comforting and tasty. One person also got the lamb burger which was very well enjoyed too. Service and staff were also on point.
