This place was highly recommended by a staff member at the Sagamore and so glad we dined here. The fish was cooked to perfection and plated with delicious accompaniments hence the 5 stars. The manager or owner was super friendly and welcoming as were his staff. The place was recently renovated and lends to a nice nautical theme right amid a mountain town. My only recommendation is for silverware to be refreshed rather than asking diners to use the same as used for appetizers. I would also invest in proper fish silverware. This is a beautiful restaurant and definitely the nicest in Bolton Landing. It's a great atmosphere - they had a young lady singing live music with a guitar on Thursday night and the place was packed. We sat outside and it was just lovely. Drinks were perfect and well made - I had the Aperol spritz and hubby had an old fashioned. Mine was light, refreshing and balanced. We then ordered a dozen raw oysters - they were tasty and sweet, but small. I had the Chilean sea bass which was served with a lobster risotto kind of thing and a pea sauce. It was cooked very nicely but needed a bit of salt, and it wasn't as hot as I would have liked - it was even slightly cold in the center. Hubby's ribeye steak was absolutely perfect, and their homemade steak sauce is sweet and savory and quite yummy. Mashed potatoes and veggies were perfect. Lively place walking distance to Sagamore. We had the Calamari App $20, Shrimp cocktail $22 (3 colossal shrimp), bread $7. For entrees we had lobster Ravioli (north of $60), tuna $44, and ordered an off menu burger w bacon $25. The Bar in the other room looked really cozy and fun. Bar tender gave us a big hello as we walked in and out which was nice. The calamari app is mouth watering delish and a must with this fried cherry peppers and tasty dipping sauce. My personal option is bread should be included as charging $7 is like adding 2 dollars to each of our entree prices making them even more out of hand. The tuna entree was tasty with TONS and TONS of very fresh tuna @ $42 not unreasonable for a vacation town. I thought the lobster ravioli missed the mark being priced so high north of $60 for may 15 year old however prices nationally are so out of hand I don't necessarily blame them. My advice would be to skip it and try the salmon which is in the $42 range. I was very happy they let us order an off the menu burger for my ten year old or I would have cried if he ordered a $60 lobster ravioli. Burger was excellent. The hostess at the front door was a bit rude as we walking in which kind of set the mood for not the best evening. I sometimes wish people who will be snotty just not go into customer service positions and would instead go work in an office somewhere where they do not interact with people. The hostess should be delightful, cheeriy and helpful....not submissive and passive aggressive. This does not reflect on the owner who I hear is delightful. Overall excellent food but they may have to move from $$-$$$ to $$$-$$$$ now that prices are 1/3 higher than what is reflected in the menu in an old yelp photo I saw. read more

This has been the best restaurant I've experienced in the area in the last ten years of coming up for the Warrensburg Town Wide Garage Sale. My party tried to go to a place we've been before at Lake George without reservations and that was a no go. Everyone browsing the Glen Falls area I changed the search north and found here. Was able to make an evening reservation and even got in 15 minutes early. We all ordered what we wanted and raved the entire time how good the food is, they even have a good cup of coffee. I would describe this place as quality gourmet food with a cute ambience. For starters I got the beef tartare and the clam chowder soup of the day. The beef tartare was definitely disappointing, but what made up for it was the hash brown underneath it. It was supposed to have some truffle sauce to it, but it tasted nothing like truffle. The beef tartare should've been minced a lot more as it was super chunky and there was no gooey texture usually when you crack an egg on it. I would not recommend getting that dish. The soup of the day was really good. It had a generous serving of lobster in it as well. It was not to creamy, and it was just right. For the entrée I got the Maine lobster ravioli. Now this was the main star of the meal. The pasta was so fresh it melted in your mouth. My favorite part was probably the prosciutto flakes as it gave a nice salty taste to the dish. Inside the ravioli was more lobster as I was surprised since they already gave half a lobster tail on top. The sauce was so good. I could've licked the plate if I wasn't in public. For dessert I got the crème brûlée I would not get this as the sugar was definitely too torched. Meaning that usually when you hit the top of it with your spoon lightly all of the sugar that is crystallize breaks really easily into 1 million chunks. However, this was so hard to break apart. I was literally stabbing it and trying to cut it with a spoon, so don't get that if you had crembrule before. Don't get me the wrong. The custard was good. It was just the crystallize sugar ruined it and that's usually is the best part for me. read more

Drove past this place a couple times during my stay at LG, thought it was interesting and finally had the opportunity this evening to eat here. OMG, so good. Waitress was so cute and very personable, wish her lots of luck in med school! She helped guide us to the perfect meals for each of us. The four of us were not disappointed all. Where to start. Tuesday night 7:30 reservation, party of 6, my sons 14th birthday. This was the day after labor day and there was only one other table. Our server Julie couldn't have been less happy about having to work. Slow on drinks, (food before drinks is terrible) inattentive, stick up the you know. Fine whatever, but with two tables you'd think you would give extra attention and a smile to at least make a good tip from a party of six. Back to Julie in a minute. Now the food. We ordered the korean pork belly the "artisan bread" (for 7$ bucks) and the filet tartare to start. Pork belly was good , sweet and a bit of spice but was inconsistent,. One piece very tender the other chewy. The tartare lacked seasoning and overall a bit bland. You also got just two small crostini with it. Then my wife and I shared the wedge. Not sure why it was overloaded with figs as they sure didnt add Anything to it. Looking at the menu before we went we could already tell it was well overpriced. Avg entree was about $60. But we were told it was really good and I dont mind paying at all if its good food AND good service. Entrees -- 3 kids filet entrees. All cooked to a good med rare. One swordfish special for bday boy. Two small pieces about 1/4 thick and cooked to death. I had the $60 scallop dish. The 4 scallops were cooked ok, slightly not seared enough but passable. My risotto was ok as well except the stringy vegetables on top just didnt go well with it. They weren't needed. My wife had the chilean sea bass with lobster risotto with pea emulsion. Fish was cooked great but lacked seasoning (again). However there was no lobster in the risotto or there was no risotto in the lobster as it was hard to tell as it all sat in the bowl of pea soup. Needless to say my wife told the hostess when she asked how it was and she said that she really did not enjoy the dish which she picked at. We also mentioned the not so great service from Julie. . When we got the $500 bill the sea bass was still on bill, so we called the hostess over and asked if we ate it. My wife said do you want to go back to the kitchen and look? She eventually took it off. A slow night at the restaurant doesnt mean the whole place takes the night off especially when you are charging those prices. This isnt applebees with teens working and wanted to get out of work and hang with their friends. Our experience was overpriced mediocre food, not good service. And we made the reservation on OpenTable. I noticed two hours later that they canceled our reservations so we cannot review them on OpenTable hence why I put my review on yelp but I'll be contacting them and I'll be copying and pasting this review unopenable as well. read more

Dine at the bar, you'll be greeted and served with the same welcoming service as you would in the dinning room. The menu, delicious. Wine list perfect and they always have my preferred scotch which isn't available everywhere in the Lake George area. Strolled by Beyond the sea during a walk through town, and decided to cancel our original reservation, to switch here instead, and BOY are we glad we did. The ambiance, 10/10, the service, 10/10, the food? 10/10. Our waiter Ray brought such great energy, great drinks and recommended every dish we ordered (sorry to all who don't get here for the pork chop special but it was unbelievable). We came in a large group (10 girls) with reservations. They weren't quite ready for us yet, as we did come early, but grabbed drinks, went to their back patio area and got in some nice photos. It didn't take them long to seat us, and when we came back inside, found out we had this very nice private area. Very accommodating as being in a large group, we asked for 4 different checks. My husband and I were driving by this restaurant after hiking along Lake George, thus we were not dressed for an evening out. The restaurant looked cute and inviting and rather casual, so we decided to stop and eat an early dinner. We sat on the terrace, because the inside of the restaurant was freezing cold. Our waiter was attentive and super nice. We ordered oysters and drinks which were delicious. Our main course would be lobster ravioli with lobster and my husband had ordered surf and turf. Now to the bad, our main course took for ever to arrive. We probably waited an hour for our meal. Finally my husband went inside to ask if they had forgotten us or what. The food finally arrived. My husband loved his, mine however was a dinky piece of lobster and 4 or five ravioli, not plated well. When we left we saw that the restaurant was well attended, so my advice, don't sit outside if you want to be served in a timely manner. What aspect of this restaurant is not to like? The restaurant ambience is warm and inviting with a separate lively bar. The hostess and wait staff are professionals focused on customer satisfaction. We found our waiter, Winston, friendly, helpful, and attentive. Perhaps the most impressive part of the customer interaction was from the owner, David. He was fun to speak with and gave great recommendations on food and wine. We followed his suggestions and were not disappointed. David made a big contribution to our great evening. We began with cocktails and shared the burrata salad. A unique take with cherries and so good. Just enough for two. Following David's (and Matt at The Sagamore) we had the Seabass and the surf and turf special (ribeye with cold water lobster tail). The Seabass was perfectly prepared and so flavorful! The S&T special was also perfectly prepared, but at $95 I thought overpriced. The vegetables were crisp as they should be, the steak a perfect medium rare, and the 6oz tail tender and flavorful. The ribeye was thin and seemed more like 12oz vs the menu 16oz advertised, but just an experienced guess. It was tender but the flavor a bit bland as it did not seemed seasoned and no salt/pepper on the tables. The ribeye dish normally is over a bed of mashed potatoes but I had asked David for a non potato option and he came up with a delicious turnip purée. So good I told him it should be a regular option. For dessert we had the cheesecake. It's not homemade but it was fantastic. A great end to a great evening. read more

Jason (the bar tender) stopped by to check on us, and we had a pleasant bit of conversation with him. The manager (Earl) was affable and available, ensuring that we had everything we needed. Service like this is rare and needs to be applauded. The food was expertly prepared and it was apparent that it was of the highest quality (I had the veal chop special, which was a savory treat. My son's hamburger elicited moans of delight from him - seriously - causing him to announce that it was the very best burger he had ever had). Portions were generous and everyone in our party were extremely satisfied with their dishes. Only caveats were that we had to ask for bread for the table and drinks took some time to arrive - all in all rather negligible issues far outweighed by the other aspects of our dining experience. But when the bill came, the price was $27 - I told him that this was the most expensive martini in my life. He corrected the price to $16 which it probably should have been right away. This was a really nice find in Bolton Landing. Living on the coast my entire life, we are certainly spoiled by fresh seafood, but these days, that is no longer a requirement. This place does fish and it does it well! Service was extremely attentive and the food was so good! We started with the calamari and the "When in Rome" salad - Despite the number of places that serve calamari, its not always good - so easy to overcook. Not here. Perfectly cooked and not at all heavy or greasy. And the Truffle Lemon aioli was to die for! The salad was super fresh and had a nice array of greens, artichokes and other veggies. For Entrees we got the lobster ravioli and the seafood bucatini. The ravioli were delicious and had a huge hunk of claw meat in the center of the dish. Super fresh seafood here, and especially so in the bucatini. Scallops are another seafood that is easy to overcook - not here. Nailed it. So I'm sure you are wondering - why only 4 stars? Great food, great service? We just felt that the red wine list could be a little more tailored towards seafood. If you've been to Bolton Landing, you probably know that the food scene leaves a lot to be desired. For the price, the food is very mediocre. We tried both the lobster ravioli and scallops. The ravioli was a little too fishy giving the impression it was not very fresh. The scallops were on the saltier side. For dessert, we tried the flourless chocolate cake. It was decent but had a mysterious hint of coconut flavoring. Overall, service was ok but a little odd, when I asked a question on the wine list the response was "I don't know, I'm only 16 and a half." It took me a minute to realize that was the servers age and she was not going to help. This is a hidden gem in Lake George. We enjoy good food and good service and this place had it all. We often eat at Michelin Star restaurants, and wanted a nice restaurant for my husband, myself and our 11 year old twins. Our twins are also adventurous eaters and love mussels, oysters and salmon. One tried their red snapper special and the other one tried the tuna. My husband got the lobster bisque, a salad, sushito peppers, and the clams. We didn't think the boys would eat all of theirs, but they devoured it! They reluctantly gave us each a bite. The seafood here is amazing. My Kentucky born husband is also a bourbon lover and was impressed by all their bourbons. This is a family owned business and we had the opportunity to meet the owners and their daughter.
