We've passed by this place countless times, but I was looking for a chill spot where my kid could hang out with a few friends for his birthday--and this café fit the bill perfectly. They serve a mix of ramen, sushi, and snacks (yes, even fried Oreos and takoyaki!), plus milk teas and other drinks. The hangout was a success, and best of all, I didn't break the bank. The food is on the affordable end, so the ramen and sushi are about what you'd expect for the price--decent and satisfying, but not gourmet. They have a "Ramen Lovers" special on Tuesdays where all ramen is 50% off, so we tried both the tonkatsu and beef ramen. The broths tasted pretty similar (LOL), just with different toppings. I order 2 large (which is their bucket size) passion fruit grapefruit iced tea. The paper menu said $7.50 each. 1. The wait time was extremely long to get my 2 drinks. There was one girl behind the register and a guy standing next to her but he didn't do anything. She was the one taking orders and making the drinks while he just stood there as more orders got placed. 2. When I got home and checked the receipt, I saw I was charged a higher price instead of $7.50 each it was $8.25. If the prices changed then you need to update the menu prices. Anda is a cute cafe with real bubble tea drinks and food items such as sushi and ramen. It's the large size bucket of boba for the win here. I mean, bubble tea beverage you can carry with a handle? This is a unique and delightful thirst quenching experience. My star deduction quibble is they have a stack of menus at the counter advertising one price while they charge you another. The manager said prices have gone up. Ok. Don't keep menus out that advertise a different price. At least take the time to cross them out if you're trying to keep those printed menus useful. We went to eat local at Anda Boba Tea on Ramen Lovers' Tuesday and the ramen was pretty good! We ordered the soy milk vegan, shrimp ramen, duchess rose tea refresher with boba and the cookies & cream taro smoothie with boba. The shichimi spice blend and soy sauce we tried with the ramen enhanced the flavor of the ramen. A nice cafe to hang out at especially for college students and anyone who is on a budget looking to try unique bubble teas and ramen. They also have cooked sushi which I tried many years ago. This bubble tea cafe still has the cute personified cat paintings displayed on the wall from many years ago. There was only one associate at the register when we got there, but he was tactful although very soft-spoken. Nice ambiance overall with Chinese calligraphy on the red banners, green plants and pop music emanating from the radio speakers. Will definitely be back! I have been here before though I'm surprised I didn't write a review nor upload pictures. Last time I ordered my drink, I received my drink and had no issue. It was great. Yesterday, I went to order a drink. The store opened at 10AM and we were the second customer. We tried to order from the kiosk, only to find out you need a $10 minimum to use a credit card. Thai ice tea cost $8. We went to the cashier, who told us to wait one minute. Not a problem. He came back and we were placing our order for Thai ice tea. He was staring at the phone and calling, and didn't bother to ring up the order. Didn't talk to us and what was going on so we walked out of the store to go where we needed to go. While crossing the street, a woman asked us if we ordered. We didn't and we had to go. We figured out what happened. The person who made the drink didn't arrive and the employee didn't know how to tell us this. If the employee communicated that the person making the drink is nearby and will be here in a few minutes, we would have waited. However with no information or communication of what was happening by the employee, we didn't wait around since we told our group we were coming back and couldn't wait for the drink maker. This isn't normally how this store is. Hopefully next time, the experience will be similar to my previous time. read more

We came here after dinner and ordered 4 drinks (3 large and 1 medium) and it came out to $34. The space is really small but has a kiosk thats easy to navigate and customize your order. We ordered large sizes because of the fun novelty but it is expensive and a lot of milk tea. Flavors of the drinks were okay -- they weren't as flavorful as we anticipated, but the pearls were good. I never modify the sweetness on my drinks and full sweetness was not sweet (my cousins confirmed it was on par with the half sugar level drinks we ordered). There's definitely better boba places elsewhere but the novelty size was fun. The handle is pretty sturdy so you can carry it like a bucket. read more

A recent visit to the Elmhurst area brought me back to Anda Boba Tea, thanks to my craving for a post-meal drink after JoJu. While JoJu's drinks are undeniably solid, I had to revisit Anda - because, well, bucket boba calls my name. Long story short, nothing's changed much at Anda: same layout, same kiosk, same good ol' bucket boba. And honestly? O' good bucket boba, never change. I ordered through the kiosk, only to be hit with the dreaded $10 minimum (why must you toy with my wallet like this?!). All I wanted was a drink, but Anda has a way of making it easy to tack on extras - hello, 6 pc takoyaki! Their extensive menu is dangerous like that. Quick side note: their kiosk is a bit of a mind-bender, especially when it comes to sugar levels. The options are slight sugar, half sugar, less sugar, and no sugar. Um... what exactly is "slight" sugar? And where's the 75% sugar option for those of us not quite ready to abandon our sweet tooth? (Maybe the universe is nudging me to cut back on sugar - rude.) My order came out pretty quickly, and while waiting, I noticed the friendly lady behind the counter casually chatting with customers, many of whom seemed like regulars. (If I lived closer, I'd probably be one of them too.) About 10 minutes later, she called out my name, and there I was, tearing myself away from Yelp to retrieve my order. Strawberry Yakult ($5.25) The price is wild for the sheer size of this bucket, but unfortunately, the flavor didn't quite live up to the bucket hype. It was a bit watered down and lacked that punch of flavor I was hoping for. Regretting not sticking to the classic boba, which I know packs more of a flavor punch. This one gets a 2/5 from me. Takoyaki ($5.99) Takoyaki is one of my absolute favorite street foods, so I was excited to dig in. Sadly, like the Strawberry Yakult, it was just okay. It satisfied my craving on a hot summer day, but don't expect any Michelin-level magic here. It's solid if you're in a takoyaki mood but nothing more. I'd give it a 3/5. Overall, I'm sticking with a 3.5 for Anda Boba Tea. It's a decent spot, but nothing mind-blowing. read more

Update 5/2022: Recently renovated and re-opened! Gone are the bright pink walls and unique characters. I'm digging the more subdued decor. They revamped their menu, but still have have the giant quart sized drinks for a decent price (hooray!). Recently tried their snack combo with the popcorn chicken. Popcorn chicken was pretty crispy and went well with the provided sauce. Hopefully they can provide different seasoning/flavor options in the future (right now they only have regular or spicy). I don't think they use punch cards anymore, but you can accumulate points for rewards by providing your number and paying in cash. Recently tried their sushi party platter with a group of friends and it was well worth the price. I think it was 9-10 rolls (2 of which are cali rolls) for about $45 +tax. We waited so long, I went to the bathroom and also changed her, and my drink was still not ready. I was getting ready to just leave! The drink was okay, it wasn't worth a 20 minute wait. The whole time we were there, there were leftover plates of food from previous customers that were all over the tables, and not once did the staff members bother to take any of them away. A pile of dishes with half eaten food started to pile up in the corner as people were moving these plates there by themselves. As for the food, it was not bad, but inconsistent. Anda's most popular food is their crispy chicken. My friend had one order and I had a second one. For some reason, her chicken was super soft and soggy. My chicken on the other hand came later and was very crispy and very tasty. So, the first order must have been rushed. The sweet potato fries we had were also a little soft and soggy. My taro bubble tea was also off. You could taste the powder inside. It was obviously it was not mixed well. At least their prices are low. Some things to note: * Less than two years ago, they were Panda Cafe. The current branding almost looks the same but they've successfully managed to really drop the P to be Anda Cafe. The logo however, looks like it's still Panda. * Anda Cafe is literally 安達茶館 as the same "An Da" in China. (Though not necessarily related) * Similarly to Kung Fu Tea, they have roots in New York and are starting to pop off locations throughout the city. * If you are bored with the usual bubble tea flavors that you've tried at other chain shops, try the Anda concoctions that vary by the season. I've been hooked lately on their watermelon yakult (西瓜多多) as of late. * Unlike many of the other bubble tea stores, this Elmhurst location serves up a ton of food. It's nothing fancy, but robust enough to actually have a menu and feature western inspired dishes as well as Taiwanese finger foods. * Some places have large and they have the truly large sizes that rival many west coast boba spots. The thing is so big that it won't fit into a traditional car cupholder. I like to get this for the effect alone. * If you intend on becoming a regular customer, be sure to utilize their VIP / frequent diner's card. The ish is awesome. read more

After I went to the Anda Boba Cafe on Springfield, I decided to try this one in Elmhurst. I came twice within a month (I live in Long Island) First of all, I love their lager size cups which were huge! But the price were different from Springfield and Elmhurst. Elmhurst is a quarter cheaper. Second, both times I went, I met really great stuffs in there, which I really love. But sadly, the speech of getting your order were a bit slow (I was not in a rush, so I didn't mind waiting. While waiting I met interesting people in the store anyways) Third, I love the Elmhurst store has points you can collect with each time you make a purchase (with CASH only) to redeem rewards, which the Springfield one doesn't have. I personally would think this is a place worth to try at least once, especially if you love boba tea, must try their large size.
