A good, simple Chinese takeout restaurant in the Trenton area. The place is pretty clean and the wait time is very short. There is a decent amount of food variety along with the usual takeout offerings. The quality of the food is above par for a takeout place.

Affordable, tasty, no-frills Chinese restaurant. Great portion size and friendly staff.

Mr. China in the Pennington Road Shopping Center, Trenton, NJ, actually surprised me with its cleanliness and decent lunch offerings. The space while primarily for takeout, also has eight booths for people like me who prefer to eat in in relative comfort when the food is hot. Service was friendly and smiling. The house mother took orders, worked the cash register and delivered my General Tso's Chicken to me. It was actually on a ceramic plate, not a takeout container, a big plus. The meal was pretty good for a generic well known dish. There was ample chicken. The breading was not overly thick, and the sauce was freshly made with chili flakes noticeable in the dark amber covering. The fried rice was a weak point, as it was mass produced with a yellow dye and few veggies, meat or egg. With a bottle of Snapple, it was a $7 deal. It was A-OK!

Worst chinese ever. Order general tso chicken, it was all breading no meat. Y'all should be ashamed of serving garbage like this.

All of the above were true, and the food was quite good too. Each of us got a lunch special w/ Thai Basil Beef, and it was a good dish. I enjoyed the wonton soup and side of rice too, and it was a really great price for all of that. Service is pretty fast and friendly; the waiter switched our soup orders by accident, but when he came back to bring more stuff, he noticed when we had switched them, which I give him some credit for. Everything is nice and fast, no issues there. Inside, it's a pretty good amount of space, and nice decoration throughout. My friend and I both thought the door to get from the foyer into the restaurant had a really nice design. Everything in there is clean and nicely put together. Men's room was clean too - not very big, but good enough size.

Thus, while service was reasonable, a person shouldn't assume anything about anyone: not these days, nor any era. To give each customer the benefit of doubt is the most basic of refined manners. The food, however, is well prepared and fresh in quality. The restaurant does seem to cater towards a more elderly audience based on the presentation styles and music choices. While the vegetables and shrimp dishes were clearly fused from different cultures to some extent, the fried rice might have had a bit too much salt as diabetes is on the rise these days--so we tend to choose lighter salt in meals. The pricing could also be more reasonable for simple and traditional choices.

For this year's Chinese New Year, I decided to take the family there for our New Year dinner, and the food was just as good as I remembered. The place hasn't changed a bit, the decor still looks exactly how I remember it, which brought back memories. Since some of my family and friends don't enjoy the same spice level as I do, we adjusted the heat for dinner, and everything still came out fantastic. We ordered the whole steamed fish, happy fish, green beans, tea smoked duck, pork chop, beef pan fried noodles, and more. Every dish was delicious, and the flavors were spot on. The service was a bit tentative at times, but the quality of the food definitely made up for it. Overall, it was a wonderful meal and a great way to celebrate. I definitely need to come back more often.

It seems that both the pepper steak and chicken with broccoli were in the same sauce (& I've actually found that to be common in this area for some reason) but were tasty overall. The egg roll was quite greasy and the wonton soup was pretty solid with the broth being the star. Oh the white rice was cooked how I expect and wish all Chinese white rice is cooked so that's a plus. Overall a true 3.5 star rating but since halves aren't possible I had to go to 3 because it certainly wasn't a 4.

We were craving Chinese food and wanted to try a place we haven't been before. We were nearby and…read morefigured we would check this place out. It is in a strip mall with a bunch of different options. On the outside It looks too small to have any type of sit-down area. We walked in and peaked inside and once you turn the corner of the counter, there is a dining room. So we decided to eat in. The dining room is very dated and doesn't look like it gets much use. It is set up though for karaoke. Our server came over with menus and took our drink order of hot tea and water. She came back with the tea and wonton chips and dipping sauce. They were very good...the sauce was light but complimented the chips perfectly. We decided to share chicken corn soup and a quart of General Tso Chicken. The soup came out in a big bowl and she gave us each a cup. The soup was was like an egg drop soup with corn and chicken. It was good. It had good flavor. It is a good comfort soup. The General Tso Chicken came out with some broccoli (I tend to not like broccoli from Chinese restaurants since it can be really hard) water chestnuts, and some green peppers. Everything was so good. The chicken wasn't heavy or greasy. The coating was crispy but not heavy. Sometimes getting General Tso's Chicken it is mostly the fried coating. This was just enough. It popped in your mouth. The broccoli was cooked perfectly. Al dente without being too hard. The water chestnuts and green peppers were a nice addition too. I thought our food was excellent and the service was very good. It looks most of their business is through takeout, but it would be nice if they updated the dining room just a little bit. We definitely will be back to try some other dishes.
