4.5 My husband decided to surprise us with some breakfast tacos from this food truck on Saturday morning. He got me my favorite Potato, Bacon, and Egg. The taco was packed with these ingredients. The egg was scrambled and mixed with the potatoes and bacon. The bacon wasn't whole pieces it was like bits mixed in with the other ingredients. The potatoes were a good size. I added some green salsa. It was a little spicy but I only drizzled a little bit in the taco for added flavor. Overall, the tacos were a good size, tasty, and filling. The Quesabirrias were solid but the Tacos callejeros pastor (i would recommend) on the other hand was not so good. the tortillas weren't cooked. tasted like they just bought them from the store and thrown into my togo box. My tacos weren't really warm but they weren't cold. Tasted like they were picked up then drove an hour home and then ate them(i ate there).I wasn't satisfied with my tacos AT ALL! This is a mexican food truck, located off ranch rd 12, near the Chevron gas station. I came on a Friday around 12:30, there was no one ahead of me, but you do order online. While I will say the food is good & finally some decent Mexican food that isn't all TexMex, the wait was unbearable!! We waited 45 minutes to get our 4 tacos! I'm sorry but to me that is unacceptable! It wasn't even a busy wknd, it was mid day during working hours. I'd suggest ordering ahead of time. Like I said the food was good, but is it worth it? Second trip to the Mr.Chingon trailer in the new Fair Lane bar and food court on RR 12 north of Dripping. The first go around was marred by the complete newness of the location and the staff. It was in their first week at the new spot. This time they redeemed themselves. Service was cordial and at the window rather than through the app. The young guy at the window was prompt, thorough and helpful. The food was out promptly and still warm. My steak fajita taco of the 'Classic Tacos' menu was first rate. The potion was huge - one of those where each bite at the business end of the taco causes content to squeeze out the other end. The steak fajita meat was far more tender than the usual such fare, and the seasoning was spot on. There were plenty of red and green peppers, onions and sauce. It was very filling, and the flour tortilla was fresh. I added the green, jalapeño sauce, which added adequate kick (I wasn't up to the ghost pepper variant). My friend had the carnitas taco from the same classic menu, and she felt it too was first rate. The small taste I got had a completely different flavor,profile than mine, and it had its own unique spice mix a Al carnitas. We'll be back to try some of their Chigones specialty tacos for dinner some time, as I suspect those have even larger portions and probably a more experimental treatment. Enjoyed my burrito. They were very accommodating if you need modifications. Food is made fresh and loved the outdoor area with the playground and twinkle lights but even better they have the option to sit inside as well. Order drinks inside Fairlane. Nope!. They went down hill. We visit Fairlane often. We have ordered from here a lot. Their Queso is the worst! Thick with no flavor. Also there is no difference between dinning in or out. A bunch of wasted containers when one paper container can do it all. The tacos are getting smaller and smaller. Last but not least, when we order bean and cheese tacos, the cheese is not melted. Sorry but NO! Putting beans on a tortilla, sprinkle some cheese and calling it a day is not good food. It used to not be like this. Basically they have a captured audience so the food quantity doesn't matter. I love Fairlane, but will not be eat there anymore unless it is a different food truck. read more

Great tacos but they take about 45 mins to make 2 simple breakfast tacos. Not realistic to wait that long with kids.

The food itself is good but the service is almost always bad. Often you get there and they aren't even there, they open at 8:00 but they regularly don't arrive until 30-45 minutes after they are supposed to be open so you end up waiting forever and not ending up getting food since you have to leave to go about your day. If they are there on time you wait another 30-45 minutes to get your food even with little to no other customers there. They have also been extremely rude and unprofessional on multiple occasions for no reason. They will get angry for just doing their job and act like you are a nuisance for simply ordering food at the restaurant they choose to have. I have been straight up ignored for just asking for salsa after they left it out of the bag and had them get angry I ordered breakfast tacos that were on the menu at 10:50am. read more

We got to-go from the food truck in dripping springs. We placed the order online. When we got to the food truck the employee checked our order and bagged it. We did not feel that it needed to be checked again... and we know better!!! Once home we quickly realized one dinner was missing and the queso and chips were actually queso and crumbs. My husband had to go back to get the missing dinner. Ended up eating his meal cold. Moral of this story CHECK YOUR ORDER FROM THIS PLACE!!!! This food truck is frequently out of the food they list on their menu. My family and I have driven here multiple times only to be disappointed by multiple menu items being out of stock. This occurs even at 4pm, well before the dinner rush. While their food tastes very good, not being able to order it and causing a disruption in dinner plans, leads me to give them 1 star and not recommend this location to others. If they can figure out how to stock their kitchen appropriately, my review would change. Too many unhappy family members after failed visits to Mr. Chignon, highly disappointed. read more

It's okay. We ordered an assortment of meals, hoping to fill everyone and satisfy our love for birria. Quesabirria isn't what you get though. There was no cheese in our tacos on those. We also ordered the regular birria tacos. Both bland. We didn't taste peppers but instead the overwhelming amount of onions. The consommé was bland as well. It was heavier on fat than flavor. No proper taste. No cinnamon. No peppers in the broth that we could even detect. Thin tacos. The tiny street tacos were also bland and covered in onions. It's really another place that I guess relies more on their salsas and hot sauce than flavoring their meats. We've tried several Mexican restaurants and trucks with their own take on these two meals and they all bring the peppers in that makes birria and their consommé is incredible. Sadly, MC missed the mark. For the price, you'd expect more meat, that beautiful fried taco shell filled with meat and cheese, flavorful consommé and we instead had no one saying anything positive about their food.
