    Mazapán tres leches
    M S.

Best Mexican food in Austin! Never thought I would find a better place than "Mi Tradición" but I was wrong. Tasty carnitas, flautas, barbacoa; perfectly seasoned al pastor. Did I mention ceviche with the right amount of habanero? For desert, mazapán tres leches... a must have!

Barbacoa taco and mushroom kale taco

I got the barbacoa and mushroom kale taco, and they were both extremely flavorful. Situated at a brewery, the atmosphere near this food truck is nothing short of vibey. There are plenty of trees and a nice view in the area for one to enjoy. But the highlight was the taco, which is what I came here for, and these two tacos were definitely hits. Another thing was that the salsa was extra delicious as well. I loved the salsa and thought it was a perfect addition to the tacos. If the salsa is good, then you know the tacos will be bomb. Also side note if you are a vegetarian the mushroom kale taco is really good. Normally not into vegetarian options, but this one is flavored so well and the textured mesh so well that I made an exception

    Beef flautas

I've enjoyed this truck over the past few years and Chef Luis never fails to impress me. Born and raised here in Austin I've been fortunate to enjoy old and new spots pop up, and I can tell you the flavor, the consistency and quality blows me away here. My personal favorite is the mushroom tostada, the cook on these mushrooms is amazing. The beef flautas just have so many layers of flavor, the red onions pickled perfectly, the queso fresco and perfectly seasoned beef matched with crunch on the flautas, I'm in heaven. Last but not least Chef Amanda makes an exquisite mazapan tres leches that I dream about, the way she balances these flavors without being too sweet I could probably eat a pound of this cake if I had the opportunity. The passion they both have for cooking clearly shows and i hope nothing but success for this place.

Service was fast! Food was fresh and lots of flavor! I love the fact it's just outside Fierce Distellery so you can grab a yummy cocktail with your new favorite tacos!

ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING -- BEST MEXICAN FOOD ANYWHERE…read more If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I've traveled all over Texas and across the U.S., and I can say without hesitation that Las Cocinas Mexican Grill is hands-down the BEST Mexican restaurant I have ever been to -- and that includes all of Austin. My family and I come here several times a week, even though we don't live close by. That alone should tell you how incredible this place is. Must-try favorites (do NOT skip these): The Margaritas - Very strong and absolutely perfect. Order them half & half (half on the rocks, half frozen). Trust me -- you'll thank me later. Nachos Al Carbon (Appetizer) - The beef fajita meat is out of this world. Tender, flavorful, and unforgettable. Beef Fajitas Cremosas (Entrée) - Get them with EXTRA sun-dried tomatoes. Oh. My. God. I have never had anything like this in my life, and it's something I crave several times a week. Stuffed Jalapeños - So good I sometimes order them as my entire meal. And the onion rings they're served on? Easily the best onion rings I've ever had anywhere. Beyond the food, the staff is absolutely amazing. From the moment you walk in, they make you feel like family -- warm, welcoming, and genuinely happy you're there. That kind of service is rare, and it's one of the many reasons this place is so special to us. And yes -- I always forget to take pictures of my food because I eat it before I remember to take photos for a review . That should tell you everything you need to know about how good it is. We are incredibly thankful for Las Cocinas. It's not just our favorite Mexican restaurant -- it's our favorite restaurant, period, and the best in the entire area by a mile. Perfect in every way.

It immediately made us uncomfortable and definitely affected the whole experience. We almost left, but since we were already there and didn't want to go somewhere else, we decided to stay and give it a chance. Unfortunately, after seeing that, it was hard to enjoy the food and the overall experience just wasn't good. Another thing that stood out is how dark and dim the restaurant is inside. It makes it hard to see much around you, which honestly made us wonder about the cleanliness after what we saw. We had been here multiple times before without noticing anything like this, so it was surprising and really disappointing this time.

There's a little kids play area every can run around in. They do a great brunch on the weekends and the mimosas are cheap and good. We like meeting friends here on the weekends. Staff is always friendly and helpful. The food is consistently good. This is comfort food- just good Tex-mex you can count on. Major points for having a good kids menu and being family friendly!

I ordered Ganzo's Plate. I enjoyed the queso chip & taco. The enchilada gravy is tasty. I was not a big fan of the Mexican rice here and the charro beans lack flavor despite having a lot going on in them. Suitable for a tourist palate though! I'll be back again and will just stick to à la carte items or menu items that don't include the rice & beans.

We should of listened to ourselves, the queso was ok, only ate less than 1/3 had no chips , as usual queso was cold by time we got chips, the nachos were the WORST we've ever had ... burnt ! We each had taco , it was just ok. But the kicker was I ordered two enchiladas to go an here they come in a styrofoam to go box the sauce like water. How did they expect them to be hot when I got home to our guest? Our usual Mexican food rest. usually puts them in aluminum type to go container and cooks it in oven so it stays hot , needless to say they went in the trash, when we got home! WE HAVE ISSUES EVERY TIME WE'VE GONE THERE ! Save your money , go to Chuy's or somewhere else. Picture is how they "packaged" it, this was not leftovers but supposedly their ideal of hot order to take home in styrofoam
