These guys are honest, very affordable and do great work. I've been coming here for 5 years based on my friend's recommendation (who was also referred by her bf) because I only trust them! I mainly go here for oil changes and they're great and if you bring your own oil and filter, they only charge $25! They're also super quick. Twice, they finished the oil change before I could get a ride. So now I just wait at the shop cause they only take like 20 minutes for an oil change! A couple of years back, I needed a timing belt replacement. They quoted me $1k and said they only work with authentic factory parts. My dad convinced me to go to some random guy to 'save money' but the other guy messed up cause he used cheap parts and I ended up spending $2k... So now I know to only go here for my auto needs. I used to change my own oil but decided to let Steve do it because that's what friends are for. I had always wondered why he got hit on by so many guys, but once I saw him working on my car, the answer became so clear. Steve is a young dorky looking guy. You can identify him by his glasses and A's baseball cap. He's very soft spoken, knowledgeable, and caring. Additionally, this dude is ripped. His forearms are more like fivearms and his pecs are impeccable. Throw in some sweat and grease and no wonder he brings all the boys to the yard. The prices are fair and if not he'll tell you where you can purchase the cheaper parts for replacement. He'll advise you what parts to keep an eye on and which repairs he would hold off. Basically, he'll treat your car as if it were his own. His dad is triple OG and super hilarious. Down to Earth guy. Does an honest job with no funny business. read more

Don't bring or tow your car to this place. This place knows how to total ripple off people. I have towed my car for service. He said the electronic control unit was broken asking $450. But 10 minutes later he said is done. I asked him to see the old control unit. He gave me a sensor that cost $30 at the Auto part. Also, He wants to charge me $500 to replace the alternator. I've been a customer here for 15+ years. I had heard about this location from others before, but was hesitant to switch from the dealership to Khoa's. Then one day the dealer told me I needed new "engine mounts". They printed me a list of all the things I needed to fix. That list was over $2,000 back 2005. Khoa's told me they'd do it for a lot less. Halfway through the job, I got a call from Steve, telling me that the engine mounts that I had were 100% perfectly fine. I asked him what that meant for me and he said it took him 3 hours of work to get to the engine mounts, and that since he had already done most of the work and ordered the parts, he was going to change the engine mounts for me. Turns out, the dealership was looking to bill for hours. Ever since that, I've taken my car to Khoa's for everything. It's been 15+years since that happened and I still go there and I still have the same car, still running perfectly thanks to them. I definitely recommend them; can't go wrong here. read more

Yay, I love Khoa's! My car is OLD and it's an accord from the 2000ish recall, so it breaks down a lot. I've been coming here quite frequently and they are reallly nice. One of the older mechanics (I believe he's the owner?) speaks english and there's this other young mechanic (in his 20s/30s) who speaks english. So, perfs for an auto shop in Santa Ana/Westminster area. Their prices are great and they do an excellent job! Be sure to call ahead to see if they're available because they get busy on the weekends. read more

I usually go here for just an oil change and tire rotation. It costs me usually $55 because I use synthetic on my car. It would only cost me $35 if it was regular oil. Service is quick if there's no one in line. But unfortunately on a Sat morning, it's usually a bit busy. But I'm usually in and out within 45 minutes. It's a LOT longer if you go to the dealership, plus they charge you up the wazoo for things you don't really need like chassis lubrication and all sorts of diagnostics...which can total up to $80+...EGAD! I'd recommend this place if you're looking for great quality (they don't cheat you), no hassle service at a good price (especially if you live in the area or pass by here). read more

I'm giving five stars here because it is almost impossible to find an auto repair shop that does a decent job without ripping you off. I've been using Khoa's auto repair for a few years. The owner only fixes what he thinks is wrong to get your car working again. The prices are very low and reasonable. I had a clutch problem that another reputable shop estimated from $1,200 to $2k because they said the transmission needed repair also. Mr Khoa diagnosed my clutch problem in 5 minutes by driving my car for 20 feet with the hood up while smoking a cigarette. He fixed my car for $400 and it's been running fine. I am not saying this place will perform miracles on your old car (no auto repair shop can) but if you want a reasonable repair bill with good work, then have them take a look. Make sure you talk to the owner about your car's problem though. read more

I can't believe Khoa's hasn't been yelped yet! My family and I have been taking my 1989 Accord (along with our other cars...a '95 Mercury Villager and an '04 Camry) to Khoa and his guys for as long as I can remember (which is at LEAST 10 years). They work on mostly Japanese cars, but i have seen several domestic cars and BMWs lined up to be serviced. Khoa's fixed my A/C, CV joints & boots, several leaks in my system, and even revamped my carburetor. Each time, i'm left with a car that runs like new. P.S., he also does just plain oil changes! The shop is tiny, and you may miss it driving by the first time. He's nestled between a small car dealership on one side and XXX stores on the other. The shop itself is on the messy side - that's just how the guys operate, but it doesn't hinder them from getting business done. There's a few seats in the waiting room...but to keep yourself busy, just walk across the street to Northgate market and grab yourself some fresh carne asada!
