I use Yelp a lot but this is my first actual review. The service I received today from this establishment left me humbled and grateful. My day started with my car stalling in the middle of the road. No fun but the tow truck was on its way and I had recalled several of my colleagues recommending this place on our internal work site called R&S repair so that is were I had my car towed. They were not expecting us but that did not matter as they started on Diagnostic right away. I knew quickly that I was dealing with an honest shop as not 1 but 2 employees both pointed out that my tires were balding, not unusual for a mechanic shop but the kicker is that they don't even sell tires there so they were just letting me know so I could get them replaced so it was safe for me:) .. So long story short, my alternator went out, they were able to get me a new one and replace it within a few hours and get me back on the road AND they didn't charge me an arm and leg. It was a fair price that when I ran by my husband it didn't result in a " well, I can do it on my own then" response * wives will relate:)*! I recently had a major and long awaited repair made by Mr. Fixit and I couldn't be happier with my experience!! The phenomenal outcome of the AC performance is now better than brand new. The AC compressor in my Acura had to be replaced and the dealership markup was ridiculous, AND with too many variables despite spending $200.00 for a diagnostic. So I delayed my repair and decided to search for a highly qualified shop. When I discussed my issue with the tech, he was honest, knowledgeable and explained the problem in relatable terms. I completely understood what they were going to do with my car before leaving the shop, and the technicians reached out for approval on pricing for a few expected maintenance updates. My car was ready on-time the following day. Mr. Fixit's pricing is more than fair and they're very transparent when it came time to review my bill. I have been taking my cars to R & S now since 2007 after searching for years for a good honest mechanic here in Rocklin. Rod is brutally honest, which I love, and always does the work for a fair price. You can probably find a cheaper mechanic but not a better one that will stand by their work like R & S. Rod has a ton of experience and the rare ability to work on anything from my Audi to my Ford Diesel pickup, not to mention being a specialist with Toyota's and Cheverolet and a high level of familiarity with all other Japanese cars. I now have my sisters bringing their cars to him because he wont sell them anythign they dont need. I have referred several people at my work and they have all had great things to say about their experience. Fix it Auto was professional and reliable when it came to fixing my car. The circular wheel that the pulley is attached to was acting up and making noises as I was driving so I needed it replaced. Not having the proper tools or knowledge to do it myself I brought it to Fix it Auto. read more

I have to agree with the other reviewer. R and S is the greates and after coming here for a single repair since my other regular mechanic couldn't fit me in. Bad for my last mechanic as I will never go anywhere else again. You find me going to the dealer only for warranty repairs and re-calls which are free. They work on foreign and domestic cars, so no matter what you have they will get you covered. Rod is honest and if he can get away with saving you some cash he will, and if you MUST have something done he will tell you too. We've been bringing our automobiles to R & S since 1998. These guys are top-notch mechanics. I absolutely trust them with regular maintenance of my cars from oil changes to transmission work and they have saved me considerable money, while addressing all of the required maintenance and occasional trouble-shooting and correction. They don't "up-sell" as dealerships are trained to do, but will recommend legitimate needs and advise you appropriately.
