I really really appreciate the Woodman. My first time here was for the Mexico/England World Cup game. I had such an amazing time I decided to watch the finale here. The wings, quesadilla, and burger are all delicious. Of course, I chose two of the busiest days to come and although service for both days was slow, both servers were friendly. Every staff member had all hands on deck and handled it well. I never had to ask twice for something, when things were taking a little longer than usual, the servers came up to give us an update. Which is appreciated. This really is the premier spot to watch games and such. It was loud, lively, and a little bit rowdy. A perfect crowd. Drinks were flowing, and good times were had all by all. One thing I very much appreciated was their grace. I got here for the finale at 10am, for a 12pm game. They were still opening up. I was able to hold a table for my group even though the bar was filling up. Luckily everyone got there right as they were reminding me it's first come first serve. All I gotta say is this place has yet to disappoint! I've come here a few times to watch various sports games with friends and the bartenders are fast with serving drinks and taking orders and are attentive, even when it's so busy! How awesome! It does get a bit rowdy (in a not awful way!) during game time and it's definitely a vibe. I appreciate how open it is - you can be out on Ventura and get some fresh air or inside close to all the tvs! But what's not to beat are the $5 burgers for happy hour on Monday nights! As noted below, we knew they were busy and expected delays, but other servers were moving and ours wasn't. I will give them another shot and so should you. If you go there on a busy day and don't get served in a timely fashion, go and tell them. You shouldn't have to, but sometimes you must. Thank you Jason. Here on a busy World Cup game day, so we can expect delays. But it was much worse than that. Ordered appetizers that were warm on the outside and cold as ice inside. Our server completely ignored us and instead asked multiple other tables how they were doing. Only came by once an hour and then it was due to me asking another server to help. Love the woodman but had a bad experience yesterday for the fifa finals. The doorman was so rude and unwelcoming. I asked if there was a line to get in and he said no we are full in a rude manner. At the same time he was picking and choosing who he lets in. It seems like people were coming out to get their friends in. I especially wanted to leave a review based on our experience yesterday (6/12) during the USA's first match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. These are high-energy, high-demand environments, and it would be easy for staff to feel overwhelmed. But our waitress, Taylor, was the MVP! She never once looked stressed and somehow kept the entire experience feeling calm, enjoyable, and fun. Her service was beyond amazing and truly elevated our night. We were originally turned away from Game Changer because they were at full capacity, but honestly, I'm so happy that happened because it led us here instead. Food is excellent quesadillas and sliders were so good and our drinks were super boozy and I got buzzed super quick. Moscow mule was fire! Stopped by for a quick bite after a long day of walking around and shopping, the options looked great online so we decided to pull the trigger on this spot. As soon as we walked in you could see the Laker game playing from all angles of the restaurant which was already a plus. Solid amount of TVs and they also do the UFC fights. Got sat down and decided to go with the Chili cheese fries as a starter, then followed with a Chicken Jalapeño Quesadilla, and the fried chicken sliders. I had originally ordered the beef dip sliders but they were all out. All good, the food was great anyway. The French fries were crazy good and very savory but they didn't feel heavy. Short Review: Great neighborhood bar with friendly service. Food is great, plenty of TVs to watch your favorite sports with friends. Long Review: Came here to watch the NFL playoffs with friends. The game had started and the place was packed, but the host told us not to worry and that he'd find us a table anyway. True to his word, he cleared a space for us and accommodated us. We were so grateful. Not your typical experience at a neighborhood sports bar. We ordered beers, wings, quesadillas. Gotta say their Thai Chili wings are a hit! Not spicy and a great alternative to Buffalo. Waitress was proactively helpful and very friendly. They accommodate large groups well and you can see a TV from any seat in the house. Looking for a burger and this place popped up. Some good reviews They had a taco Tuesday special so naturally I had to get it. 4 tacos for $10. They were ok, i ordered 2 steak and 2 barbacoa. I ordered the Woodman burger Med Rare. It came out cooked pretty good. The burger didn't have a ton of flavor, but cooked properly. Fries definitely needed some salt. I love when I can change the star rating from good to great - it makes me happy and I do the Limbo and The Lambada (The Forbidden Dance). Last night, I needed a late-night something or other and The Woodman does Grubhub late (or was it DoorDash - can't remember). I'd had the Philly cheesesteak, which was just oke, so this time I had the fried shrimp basket and ding, ding, ding - we have a winner. It was really good, really fresh, great cocktail sauce and great fries. As the Gershwins wrote, "Who could ask for anything more?" I ate it all up, did the Dance of the Seven Veils even though I only had two veils, and I slept like a baby. Next time, the pulled pork because the shrimp also came with coleslaw and that was really good, too. The Woodman has made me happy. Now I'm off to get five more veils. read more

I had a disappointing experience at The Woodman. During my visit, a staff member asked for a tip before I had the chance to give one in cash. Mind you I still had full drink left to finish before I can even leave !!! The interaction felt pushy and unprofessional, which made the experience uncomfortable. Tipping should be at the customer's discretion and should never feel expected or pressured!!!! Unfortunately, this interaction left a negative impression and overshadowed the rest of my visit. this is a great spot for HH the food is typical Gastopub style food -- everything will be fried & heavy, but you're usually coming here to socialize/drink/watch sports. Vegetarians -- they do have a yummy veg chili, the salads are mod-able & they have veggie patty options for their burgers. please know... this place is SUPER LOUD. I have to prepare myself when I come here & I also prepare my friends (which end up telling me they did not expect it to be THAT Loud, so heads up, it really is.) I usually enjoy the patio here because it is much more quiet (youre able to hear your friends talking to you) & thankfully, it's available, or I'm not sure I would come here. Also, telling your order to the bar tender means that she can't hear you either, which is super fun to just scream at each other back & forth if thats what you're into. They don't have my favorite IPA on draft, but they have some good options for beers. I do love that they carry local brews -- they have mostly STONE, Golden Road & like, one Firestone (which is usually what I prefer.) They have some cocktails, so for girlypops that prefer those, this is a pretty solid place for variety in drink styles & thereby groups of people. As for the food and drink - enjoyed the Happy Hour Burger. Pretty sure the price can't be beat. $5 See pics. Grabbed me a burger, salad and dessert. All things I'd order again. Came here last night with a friend for happy hour. I hadn't been back here in years but specially came because I was told it was a good happy hour. My friend got there before me and sat at the bar. The bartender asked her if she wanted to order a drink, and she said that she would wait until I got there but asked for a water. Never got it. When I did arrive, we sat outside on the patio. It wasn't busy at 5:30pm but it took a long time to get menus. Our server finally came by, dropped off menus, then disappeared for while. Finally she came back and we ordered a couple glasses of wine, the Philly sliders and some garlic parm fries. The food came out first before our drinks. The "sliders" came in a set of two. I it was one piece of meat, some grilled onions and a bun. The garlic fries were undercooked. We ordered the chicken blt tacos because we were still hungry, and they were just ok. Then we waited and waited and waited for our server to come back so we could pay our bill. Again it wasn't busy for a Friday night. The bussers were great! Clearing plates as soon as they saw the opportunity. My friend, who comes there often was surprised by how bad the service was, got up to go find our server to get the bill paid. read more

They definitely weren't the best that I had, but they were passable. For drinks, I had their Pinot Noir, which was served lukewarm. I think it would've tasted better a bit chilled. Outside of our drinks and food, our server was quite interactive - almost a tad too much. It got a bit awkward when they kept talking about themselves for minutes, and my friend and I just wanted to attempt enjoying our food and drinks. They also selectively ID; I got checked while my friend didn't... :( Other than that, the environment is quite rowdy even at 5pm, so expect to need to talk a little loud to be heard. I was disappointed by my experience. The drinks were not very good and were poorly served. What made the experience worse was that before we even had a chance to take out cash for a tip, our server approached us about not leaving one on the card. We had fully intended to tip in cash, but his approach felt confrontational and unprofessional. The server, who I believe was a Filipino gentleman, asked if he had done anything wrong and spoke to us in a way that made us uncomfortable. Guests should not feel pressured or questioned about gratuity before they have had the opportunity to leave it. We went to the Woodman for the first time a week ago on Taco Tuesday and returned again this Tuesday for a repeat performance since we enjoyed it so much. Daisy, our server, was friendly, helpful, and checked on us regularly to make sure we were happy during both visits. We took advantage of the taco special, four for ten dollars and happy hour five dollar beers. Coming from a Mexican background, I'm very particular about tacos. These were pretty darn good. Please check your bill before leaving as they tend to up-charge on things or make mistakes on the bill. Cant comment on the food as I got food poisoning having tried the smallest amount of food. The drinks taste poorly made and watered down. I think it could have been redeemed with better customer service but nope ... the waiter literally never came to check on our table. Their drinks are pretty strong so if that's what you're into then this is right up your alley. I would say to sit at the bar rather than the tables because bartenders are more accessible that way.
