Wow! So glad I decided to come here with a couple of friends on a weeknight. They have a check-in special if you come with 2+ or 3+ friends. Decided to order the egg puff and Jasmine milk tea. The egg puff came out hot and crispy. The milk tea was definitely the best part of the evening. The tea was amazing and didn't taste bitter at all. I tasted the tea that my friend ordered and it was also tasty. Definitely bookmarking this place and will plan to come visit once coronavirus dies down. Service was fast and friendly. So, I'm not sayin' that I'm an avocado smoothie expert... but what I am sayin' is that I'm an avocado smoothie ADDICT! I mean... I pretty much have at least one every damn week. Sad, but true. Because of this, I have quickly learned that not all avocado smoothies taste the same. The Green Bubble proved this to me, but not in the way that I was expecting. I already have a dedicated boba spot that I adore. The problem is, it's located near where I live. Since I work in Oakland, I've been trying to find a place to fulfill my cravings when I'm in the area. I came across the Green Bubble and decided to give them shot. The interior is bright and clean with green and yellow decorum. This lobby area has a decent amount of seating and it seems like a nice spot to chill with friends. The menu is pretty extensive with offerings that include a variety of different teas, juices, smoothies, and snacks. The price points are pretty standard for the area, but their smoothie prices are a hit higher than I'm used to. They have free wifi and public restrooms here which is a plus. They also carry macaron ice cream sandwiches which are my favorite! The service was just mediocre. No greetings, no smiles, but I guess I can't really expect too much from a boba place?! I guess I just didn't feel welcomed the way that I have at other boba joints. I ordered a large avocado smoothie and I was excited that they made their smoothies with real avocado. There aren't too many places that make avocado smoothies, let alone with real avo. The smoothie tasted watered down with chunks of ice that hadn't been blended all the way. I'm used to a slight sweetness and this smoothie didn't really have it. This coupled with the lack of great service just didn't do it for me. Maybe their milk teas are better but if their smoothies are watered down, I don't even wanna imagine what their milk teas and juices taste like. Overall, it was so-so. I first reviewed this place 3 years ago. This is a Covid-19 update. They are currently not allowing people indoors so ordering must be done online. I use Door Dash and pick up myself. Their flavored green and black tea is still delicious. I suggest the passion fruit, peach, and strawberry flavors. The boba is sweet and deliciously chewy. Because I find the boba to be sweeter than other places I usually get 50% sweetness. 75% is already really sweet so I can only imagine what 100% is. I like Mr. Green Bubble almost as much as I enjoy i-Tea, they seem to have a different variety of flavors for teas, like Green Apple! Its just a little more expensive than i-tea, its One of the reasons I switch between the two. Same kind of loyalty program, really kind and helpful accomodating staff. In fact, my most recent trip was during SIP, and I wasn't aware they were accepting online orders only, no walk-ins. But, the guy at the front door was really nice and allowed me to place a walk-in order and use an expired discount. I was relieved, since Piedmont is not close to where I now live. My friends and I used to live a few blocks away, and Mr Green Bubble was where we spent most of our tiny early 20s salaries drinking boba, eating Taiwanese fried foods, and playing games multiple times a week. The boba here is still top notch, and I always stop by when I'm in the neighborhood. I like that they have real lemon for the fresh lemon tea, and their boba is a great consistency. I love Green Bubble. Being from the northern part of the east bay, I was delighted when they made a second location in Walnut Creek. Piedmont Green Bubble will always be the OG though. The thing to get would have to be the Popcorn Chicken. They make it so good and you can adjust the spicy level. (Warning. A 5 is ACTUALLY a 5. Unless you can handle heat well, please re-consider. Maybe buy another milk-tea just in case). Their milk teas are great, and everything else is good. They usually have a line of loyal customers, most of which appear to be regulars based on the speed of their order. Courteous staff, but won't make too much small talk due to the line. 4.5* Came across this place while strolling through the neighbourhood. They have a great selection of types of drinks and all come with boba if you like. I tried the strawberry lemonade and the milk tea and both were very good. The quantity is a lot for the price which is another good thing and the boba is tasty. It is very chewy and soft. The lemonade was very flavourful 8.5/10 and I preferred it to the milk tea. I went back and got the black tea with boba and aloe , yes you heard me aloe vera and it was SO good! 9/10 Note: If you sign up your mobile number at the counter while paying, every drink earns you points and free toppings etc. I have gone back many times and consistently the drinks are good and the boba is delicious. My go to boba place lately! Especially when I'm in Oakland. I really like how they're open late and have a large menu. I highly recommend the fresh brewed teas such as peach oolong, lychee black, and earl grey milk teas. They have a wide variety of toppings such as grass jelly, boba, crystal boba, egg pudding, etc. they also have fresh fruit smoothies like watermelon, avocado, banana and honeydew. I usually like to get my drink half sweet, and it still tastes great. I also love the snacks like fried tofu cubes, popcorn chicken, and calamari rings. They make all the snacks fresh from scratch. The service is pretty fast if you come on a weekday, or else it gets pretty busy on weekends. They also have board games for you and your friends to play but the seating is limited. My BFF4L (Chiravann U.) and I were hanging out in the area and decided to head over to Mr Green Bubble. Lately, I haven't been drinking much milk tea. Instead, I've been in this fruit and floral tea phase and I was super excited that they offered many drink options other than milk tea such as lemonade, fresh juice, smoothes, and flavored teas. I ordered the Rose Honey Green Tea and was pleasantly surprised by how strong the drink was (I needed the caffeine). The aroma of rose wasn't overly floral and I thought the hint of honey balanced everything out. Definitely recommend if you're into rose like me. Service was quick with plenty of seating inside. They have board games in the back and brownie points for having a clean restroom. Sadly, parking can be difficult and I thought the place could have been a little cleaner. Friendly and nice. Store: Very clean, a lot of tables to sit where you and your friends can do homework at. There are board games for you to play also. One of the few boba places that is open at 11am so that I can get my boba fix right at 12pm for lunch via delivery. I would normally frequent other boba spots that specialize in fruit teas using fruit puree, but during COVID-19, I find myself frequently ordering from Mr. Green Bubble. It's pretty easy to hit the minimum delivery fee of $12 with an order of popcorn chicken + 1-2 drinks. I love that it's fairly close to my house so I never wait more than 40 minutes. Mr Green Bubble definitely has one of the tastier popcorn chicken around in terms of flavor and quality. There is just the right amount of breading and the chicken is usually pretty moist. The popcorn chicken is enough to last me 1.5 meals so definitely shareable! In terms of boba drink, like I mentioned above, I do prefer more natural ingredients in. My problem with this place is they have a massive menu with tons of variations and a kiosk order service. Which means there are hundreds of options and no cashier to guide you in the right direction. I tried ordering a matcha with ice cream in it but wasnt warned that the matcha would melt the ice cream and end up ruining the matcha flavor. This is maybe my 3rd time visiting a Mr. Green Bubble. It's right across from Piedmont Avenue Elementary School. Parking is kinda hard to find. I came in on a Tuesday night and there were a good amount of people in there studying and on their laptops. Seemed like a crowd of high schoolers maybe. Noticed a flat screen tv and a Maven's Creamery fridge when we entered. There was also a cute, little green bench outside. FiveStars check-in at the counter. I got a lychee green tea with aloe ($4) and my friend got a regular sized Bubble milk tea ($3.55) and a Mango Milk tea also ($3.85). They offer SM and REG sizes. My drink tasted very syrupy & too sweet. My friend enjoyed his milk teas though. Service was fine but didn't really enjoy my drink too much. I am possibly.. perhaps.. definitely missing something here. I'd never heard of Mr. Green Bubble until I saw a sister store opening in Union City. When I was in this neighborhood, I was super interested in trying this location out considering the high ratings and possibility of nursing another drink addiction at a closer proximity. The interior is definitely interesting, with plastic multi-colored spheres that have been indented to make seats. Service was mediocre, but it's the same order at the cashier and wait for your order sort of mechanism, so the interaction period isn't long. I think Mr. Bubble is still around. It was the bubble-bath powder that came in the pink box and legitimized the notion that little boys could enjoy bubble baths. At least that's what I kept trying to convince my mom when she kept pushing me toward showers. And this was just last year. Anyway, the name Mr. Green Bubble reminded me of those days of yore, but the green made it seem like it may have an ick factor. It doesn't. It's just boba, good boba but just boba. The corner location at Piedmont and John has been jinxed for years with a framing shop for a while and then a decorative arts store. This one may have a better chance since the only other place to get boba on Piedmont is at L'Amyx Tea Bar where it plays second fiddle to the premium tea. Here it takes center stage with what looks to be a couple of dozen flavors of milk and regular teas with black pearls available (see photo). They're all $3.55, so it's easy to remember. Before you say Quickly too quickly, I had the Coconut Milk Tea (see photo), and it was more flavorful than Quickly's. Definitely worth visiting if you're strolling in the 'hood. Before, if anyone had ever asked me where to find boba in Oakland, I would have given one of two answers. The first? Chinatown. Second? Berkeley. And yes, I realize that's an entirely different city. That makes Mr. Green Bubble even better for me! Who knew a great boba joint had opened up on Piedmont? That is, other than the the 200 Yelpers who have already reviewed the place... Like most other boba joints, their offering of drink options is fairly extensive - hot/cold milk tea in numerous flavors, different brews of tea, juice, and smoothies (among other things). A couple of them sounded good, but I went with my usual Milk Tea with Tapioca and added an order of Popcorn Chicken (on the snack menu board on the wall behind the register) to share with friends. While the price made the drink seem a little expensive initially, it was immediately apparent that it's well worth the price. Look at the pictures...the cups are huge! The tapioca balls were pretty run of the mill for me, but I really liked the milk tea. The tea had a nice flavor, while the milk/cream wasn't too heavy or light. As for the chicken, I liked it a lot. Perhaps it's because they apparently add some tea flavoring, but the chicken had a very distinct taste that made it stand out from other popcorn chicken offerings I've tried. Mr Green Bubble - Milk Tea with Tapioca and Popcorn Chicken - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Oakland, California

After having lunch with a friend we still had some room for some bubble tea and this was the closest location, so we decided to give it a try. This place is located on the corner of the street in Piedmont, but for some reason it was difficult to find. Walking in to the bubble tea place, the place is like seriously green...they really are "Mr. Green Bubble" where I think I might be a little tired of the color. They have a lot of variety on their menus and just like other bubble tea locations, you can customize your drink in terms of sugar level, amount of ice, boba, jelly, or popping jelly. They also offer egg puffs, and popcorn chicken. Not only was this place very green, but they also had unique seatings which I thought was cool. They do not accept credit cards if your order is less than $5. While you're there they have board games for groups to play. The place itself though was pretty clean and neat even the tables which is great. I've been to bubble tea locations where the table is sticky which is a no no for me. read more
