This is the second time I've asked for one of their smash burgers and they gave me their shitty ass regular burger AGAIN. I'm normally not a Karen but I was looking forward to this burger and they gave me their more expensive, downgrade disgrace of a burger. This burger has got to be bottom ten burgers of my life, they use these awful frozen patties and for some reason they use cheaper buns for them too, why do you even have two types of buns?? What's crazy is that this smash burger is in the top ten burgers of my life, so you could imagine the disgust seeing this abomination. Meh. I've been there a couple of times a year for several years. The last time I had a beef sandwich that was tasteless and rubbery with undercooked sweet peppers. The people are nice and the service is good. It's a very basic hot dogs etc kind of place, clean and busy. The gyros is a standout. The owner is Greek so it's definitely done right. A little annoying thing that has been happening recently, if we order an extra cheese cup, whether it be on the phone live or through GrubHub, they are not including it, so I have disappointed diners. I'm a dash delivery driver and when given the package, I asked if the side of cheese was in there (the dash app alerted me that this item is often missing at this particular restaurant). He responded with a big attitude, "No. I just started 3 days ago," apparently offended that I would want to make sure the order was right for the customer. Not really impressed. Fast cheap food but lacked taste. I ordered a chili cheese dog and a polish hot dog. The chili had a funky taste to it and pretty much ruined every bite and didn't taste freshly made. As for the polish, the sausage itself was hard and dry. A very old sausage indeed. I asked for grilled onions, and they gave me these humongous onions that need way more grilling. The quality in the food requires improvement as well as the execution. Went to this restaurant to pickup a phone order and I believe it was the owner (older gentleman with glasses) was so rude as I gave the name of my order and it was under my 11 month old son's name. I gave the spelling so it can be found but gave me an attitude. Mind you I was also with my 9 year old daughter to pickup the order. If he is this rude to customers and bringing their children to their establishment. I would suggest by this person's attitude towards his customers that this is not a child friendly place. Placed a call ahead order, I believe I was speaking with the owner. The owner was incredibly rude, told him I wanted a gyro burger and he told me to speak clearly when I was speaking clear as day. I told him the rest of my order only to be told to "speed it up" and what is next, after my order was complete he said just for that 15 min pickup time and hung up on me. I then called him back and said if you're going to be rude then just cancel my order. Won't be coming back, I have no problem taking my money elsewhere. read more

Mr.G's is the neighborhood sandwich, burger and gyros place. I live less than a block away and I may only eat here once every 4 months. The burgers are frozen and extremely thin. They almost seem like "Heat N Serve" quality. The quality of burgers is a step above McDonalds. They're always ready in 2 minutes, so I'll give them points for speed. Their fries always seem fresh but they are crappy ore-ida 'esque. I've had a decent Italian beef here and a couple gyros plates. I'd say stick to that if you want something decent. The hot dogs are also of pretty good quality, I think they're Vienna Beef. I would have given this place 4 stars but some of their menu options are made so poorly and with such little effort that they don't deserve it till they fix it. I once ordered the chicken Parmigiana and it came served on italian bread with ICE COLD marinara sauce. It was disgusting. You'd think they could have at least taken the minute to heat it in the microwave, like I did when I got home. Go ahead and take a stab at Mr. G's. I love finding eateries that make little sense in their locations. Authentic Italian pasta in Flagstaff, Ariz.? Greek sandwiches in Antioch, Ill.? Yes! Mister G.'s busted out a meaty Italian beef for me and a salad for my date. Each was customized to the eater. My Italian beef was like two sandwiches in one. The top was dry and slightly crisp, with hot beef and plenty peppers. The bottom was soggy and juicy, with lots of melted cheese. I wished the sandwich would have gone on for another 18 inches, but the serving I had was quite ample. For dessert, I had a triangle of homemade baklava that really hit the spot. The staff was chatty and cool, which might have had something to do my date being a regular. Either way, cool guys. If you're passing through Antioch, this is the place to eat. read more
