Jack, Mr Handrail, and his assistant, Paul, just installed a hand rail on my property. They listened to my requests and suggestions, and were flexible when designing the rail according to my specifications. The rail is both useful and attractive. I chose a copper spray paint which blends beautifully with my brick steps. I would recommend you to install lights on the side wall before having Jack do his work. The combination of lights with rail has greatly enhanced our entry and has made the stairway 100% safer to climb. My only complaint about Jack is that he didn't answer all my question via email. I guess he is too busy for that , but as far as scheduling me for the job, he was speedy. It is more than an Installation. They literally crafted a rail, blow torch and all. Two weeks ago, Richard come out and provided an estimate for a 20-foot handrail on new front-yard steps that were just put in. Last week the installers quickly and efficiently installed the handrail in about three hours. They shaped the handrail to match the contours of the stairs. I can't stop looking at my great new handrail! I contacted Mr. Handrail, Jack, a couple months ago I think to have a handrail installed before a friend of mine arrives for a long stay. Jack brought it in on time, even though I'm at some distance from him. Jack and I were talking past each other at first because he referred me to his Gallery of photos and I somehow got into his Picasa photos. Luckily, we figured out where I was going wrong. (My bad!) Jack's crew of two (Nick and Weston) are youngish (by comparison to me, anyway), but as soon as I saw them upon their timely arrival (Jack having called me to let me know they were coming and they also called me when they got started on their way), I knew everything would be okay. The lead fellow, Nick, really knew his stuff and was extremely patient with me. We had some last-minute decisions to make and I have almost no eye for design. When they arrived, I called a girlfriend and asked her to come over to help me. Nick went over our choices again once my friend was there to weigh in. Once they got to work, they were all business. They were tidy and detail oriented. I've waited a long time for the right handrail and looked for a good company to give me the handrail of my dreams. I'm so glad I found Mr. Handrail. It's very difficult to find anyone who will install metal handrails on outdoor stairs, but I finally was referred to Jack - Mr. Handrail - and I'm glad I was. He is very busy, but got out to look at my place pretty quickly. He's very personable, very knowledgeable and extremely easy to work with. We needed to replace our outdated interior hand rail. We emailed several contractors with pictures of our current handrail with a brief description of what we wanted the new one to look like. Of all the contractors, Mr Handrail (Jack) was the most helpful and responsive. After receiving our email Jack called and discussed the project and then set up an appointment. During his initial visit, Jack discussed different design options so we could mull over what we wanted. He also addressed our concerns that our travertine tile may be damaged/discolored when the old handrail is removed. Jack also took preliminary measurements for an estimate. We decided to go with Mr Handrail and Jack made another appointment to take detailed measurements and pin down the design. He also removed the old handrail to see if there was any damage to the tile. Jack had the foresight to bring some epoxy to show us how we could repair any damage. He definitely went the extra mile. Jack also offered us the opportunity to visit the shop to look at the material and to look at the design one more time. We did. We really liked the new handrail and appreciated everything Jack did to make us feel comfortable. We never really liked the old handrail (a replacement too) and only wished he had met Mr Handrail 20+ years ago. read more

We just had this team do a custom guardrail and handrail for our home. The workmanship on the guardrail was done offsite in their shop and was installed but the handrail was done right in the driveway to match the guardrail. These guys did an amazing job and we could not be happier. Richard came and took all the measurements for the design we wanted and we couldn't be happier with the final product.
