We had approximately 450 sg ft. of Belgard Avalon Slate Victorian pavers installed by Mr Pavers in my rear yard. John Cordova the design consultant had some great recommendations, ideas, options and was very easy to work with. John acted as the project manager showing up to make sure installation was done to his plans. Diago the foreman and crew did a terrific job it looks great and they showed up on time each day and completed the project in three days, just as they said. I wanted to also give a shoot out to Diago there was a couple of small issues that Diago simply resolved efficiently and quickly, I was impressed by Diago problems solving abilities. I would highly recommend Mr. Pavers, I had five estimates and decided to go with them. They were not the least or most expensive, their bid or proposal was in the middle of all the bids and they were ICPI certified for the installation and paver warranties. read more

Italo of Mr. Pavers designed the layout and did a great job. Nelson, the technical guru came over several times during the install process to insure everything was done correctly. The finished product is beautiful! We are extremely pleased and will have them work on our back yard next. The quality of installation and the quality of the pavers are top notch, and it only took a few days to complete. I can highly recommend Mr. Pavers for your paving needs. We had Mr Pavers replace our cracked concrete driveway. Even though pavers are more expensive than concrete, we knew that concrete would just crack again. Their bid was the most competitive and their follow up during the bidding process was the best. They talked to us about also doing our walkways and front door stoop. We said yes and are glad we did and are super happy with the finished project. It looks great! John, the salesperson, was good to work with, and Glayston, the owner came over at the beginning and the end. The crew worked fast and efficiently and did great work. I would've given 5 stars but it took over 2 weeks to have the leftover materials and empty pallets picked up from in front of my house. (It was during the holiday season so that may be why.) We contacted a few companies for quotes for a ~1100 square foot paver project. Mr. Pavers came in very competitive and we decided to also do a small synthetic turf install in our backyard with them. They estimated 5 days to complete the project, which amazed us as to how quickly they thought they could get it done. Except for an unexpected delay in the porch porcelain they nailed it. Out standing job in quality and workmanship. They installed a new side, patio, house step and planter, all in about one week. During this time they; removed the old concrete and brick, re-routed and added drains, rerouted the sprinkler system, laid the new brick and build the new planter. They even filled in the gaps in the planter with new soil. Only a minor item was a lack of visibility in what the next steps were during the process. The finished product was great. The workers were excellent and finished the job in a very timely manner. We are pleased with the results. The agreed upon negotiated price that was in the contract was changed the day the job started. They stated that patio cover demo was no longer part of the job. This was never part of any discussion. John came out to do the bid and really listened to what I wanted. He made creative suggestions that I wouldn't have thought. Everything I said I wanted, all I heard was "we can do that". A large crew came on the first day and demoed everything and hauled it away, The crew was always focused and productive. February 2023---I live in Clayton. I just had Mr. Pavers do my driveway and walkways out front. I had 4 other estimates and after narrowing it down to 2 contractors, I chose them. I had approx. 1300 sq. ft. to do and they did the job from start to finish in 5 days. Good salesman in John. Great working with Glaycen(probably spelled that wrong) the owner. The workers couldn't have been any better. I'm pretty detailed so I had many questions before and during the work. We have a couple small issues that were cleared up fast and was appreciated. Mr. Pavers did a fantastic job on our driveway, walkway, planter wall , and curb edging around our landscaping area and property lines. Cal Dreyer, their Design Consultant, spent a lot out time with us. We discussed various layouts, he made several suggestions, provided us with a real nice sketch of the proposed project, and came up with various ideas for the planter wall. Cal provided us with address's of prior jobs so we could visualize the various styles. We went with the Catalina Grana Victorian pavers with Bella borders, Melville Curb, and Melville Wall also in Victorian. It looks great! I had met with several paver companies, but I knew right away that I wanted to work with Cal. Nelson was in charge of construction, and did a splendid job in conveying the design details to the construction crew, headed by Diego. The demolition and construction crews know their job very well and pay close attention to detail. They are very easy to work with. The completion was ahead of schedule by 4 days. The topline summary: We're very pleased with the quality of the work but there were some minor details that fell through the cracks that weren't significant enough to warrant a 4* rating. The job: A driveway and front walkway replacement with pavers. How I heard about them: Through a Home Concepts mailer/magazine and some Yelp research. The process: I had already done my research on what style of pavers I wanted to cover my driveway with, so letting Mr Pavers know the materials was an easy and straightforward process. During COVID-19 times, only Belgard and Calstone were operating so our choices were relatively limited, but still of high quality. After submitting an online inquiry, Cal from Mr Pavers was quick to reach out and set up an appointment for a walkaround to survey the space and draw up. Cal was cordial and prompt. He quickly mocked up a hand sketched drawing of the space and sent me an email with both the drawing and a line-by-line estimate of how much the job would cost. From there, we were sent a contract, paid our initial deposit, and scheduled the job. The job took two days (so fast!) Day one consisted of demolition and removal of the existing concrete driveway; day two was the actual laying of the pavers and application of the polymeric sand. The minor mistakes: A few small things were missed by the team and in the grand scheme of things they are not really a big deal. - With my job, they had planned to do a downspout extension that would travel under the front walkway. This was missed by the team and was apparently supposed to be finished by the demo team. I quickly notified Cal after noticing this and he said he would send someone out to finish up the job. The very next day someone was there to install the downspout extension, which involved removing the pavers, laying the pipe and spout extension, and replacing the pavers. - However, in their haste, they forgot to seal the replaced pavers with polymeric sand. Again, I notified Cal of this and he said that someone could come by and apply the sand. - The last small thing that was missed was the portapotty that was brought on site for the workers was not removed. read more

We used Mr pavers to install a bunch of pavers and artificial turf. The pavers are flawless. The design is sleek and were installed perfectly. The artificial turf on the other hand was a bit amateur. There are some bubbles where it wasn't laid out perfectly flat. The seams between different cuts are extremely obvious, looks like there is a huge tear. The sides weren't nailed down well and edges are protruding. Also I don't know if this was an honest mistake but we asked them for quotes for additional items while they were already here. These quotes were always astronomical and after declining they would claim they made a measurement error and offer a lower rate. If all you need is pavers they offer a good service. For anything else I would stay away. read more

Editing this review on 6/15: We spent extra money to have Mr Pavers install accent lighting. There was no documents or instruction on the lights that was left with us. Mr Pavers does not install the electricity and it turned out these are low voltage lights. On the final walk through, I specifically asked about running the electricity to the lights and I was informed we could connect them to our existing outdoor junction box. "Transformer" was never mentioned. We ran the electricity and blew out the lights, and now I'm told "I should have known" the voltage. That is why I asked about it on the walk through. Just bummed that this happened. Otherwise, yes, I'm very happy with the patio itself. Original Review: Mr Pavers was great. I worked with Mr Pavers for our frontyard and backyard project. We had to remove the concrete and level the floors before stones were paved. Mr John Cordova was professional and he was available when we had any queries. The removal of concrete and leveling of the floors were done very fast. The team was very efficient in completing this in just two days. I had a concern when it came to removal of tree stumps. When the project was in planning phase, I was told and I had the impression that the tree stumps would be removed by calling a tree service. I was of the impression that Mr Pavers would call the tree service to do so. When the project started, I was told that the tree stumps cannot be removed and they dont have the equipments to remove it. And I couldnt reach out any tree services to remove it in short notice. If Mr Pavers would have let me know that this wouldnt be done, then I could have cleared it before the project started. Otherwise the things Mr Pavers did a great job in laying out the pavers. In fact some of the members in the team gave excellent suggestions and we took it to do it. We did the stairs, the backyard and frontyard and all of them looks great. read more

I wish I could give Mr Pavers a good review. Everything started out good. Price was good, the sales person John was a great guy and they were able to start the job early. And even though they had to come back out to redo the stairs, they actually did a good and professional job. Where the problems came in was after the job was done. The porta potty sat out in front of hour house for days after the job was done and they left a mess on the street in front of our house. Then after 2 weeks leaves started falling onto our brand new pavers and stained them (see photos). After I did research, come to find out that we could have sealed them to avoid this. We were not informed this was an option and because nobody will respond to my calls, texts or emails from Mr Pavers, we are stuck with $13k of pavers with stains. Obviously we cannot control mother nature and leaves falling, but we should have been informed that these type of pavers stain and should have been offered to pay extra to get them sealed (which we would have paid for). If you have leaves that could fall and land on your new pavers, I highly recommend either not using these type of pavers or using a pavers company that will advise you the correct way prior to installing them. All Mr Pavers talks about is how they are a family run business and take care of their customers, yet they could have avoided this yelp review if someone would have responded to my calls, texts and emails. read more

Finally decided to go with Mr. Pavers for our back & side yards. Met John 2 weeks ago (10/17/2017), and signed the contract last week (10/25/2017).John told me he'd be able to tell me when the Project would start later that afternoon which never happened. The Contract stated the project would start approximate within 3 weeks (ca. 11/15/2017) from the date of the contract and be done within 7-10 days. Yesterday (10/31/2017), I was informed by John saying that our project won't start until 6 weeks from the date of the contract. The Day would be 12/2/2017. This is unbelievable for a company with some good reputation from the yelp reviews. I need to contact the company directly to sort this out. Sigh! the work has not even started, and this is already happening... (2 STARS) Update: After talking (arguing back and forth!) to the Owner, Glayston, he said he actually could start on 12/1/2017 (one day earlier than John which is still 6 weeks lout as stated on the contract.) I told him that wasn't right. They were not fulfilling their promise as stated on the Contract. At the end, he did promise to try his best to find a date to squeeze us in. On Tuesday, 11/21/2017, John called to ask if they can start on 11/24/2017 - the day after Thanksgiving. I said, "Sure!". On Friday, 11/24/2017, The Demolition Team, lead by Leo, came and started at 8:15am. They were very efficient and accommodating. Both Side and Back yards were done by 2:15pm in the afternoon. Bravo! On Monday, 11/27/2017, The Paver Team lead by Diego, started the prep work and finished the whole project on Wednesday, 11/29/2017 within 3 days. Very impressive! I'll describe their works in details with photos at a later updates. Around 12/3/2017, they finally came to clean up some left overs and picked the remaining pavers. Over all, Mr. Pavers was only 9 days later than their stated Contract. I'm please their effort on making the amends. Now we have a beautiful Side/Back Yards. I would like to express special thanks to Leo and Diego for their teams of fantastic and impeccable jobs! They GET 5 STARS! Inconsiderate, extremely loud and sloppy. If you have a bone to pick with your neighbors, hire these guys to really annoy them. Their trucks were constantly blocking my driveway, but most inconsiderate was that they left my (adjacent) property a complete mess. The whole area was covered in white soot and they just shook their heads and walked away. Everything needed to be scrubbed down and cleaned. Unconscionable. read more

I am happy with the results, the pavers look beautiful and just experience a couple hiccups (read on). I obtained 4 estimates (including Mr. Pavers) to replace my worn out concrete driveway, 2 pathways, concrete pad, steps, and porch with nice Belgard Toscana Cobblestone pavers. Mr. Pavers in San Ramon gave very competitive pricing and the salesman I worked with (Italo Lima) seemed very knowledgeable about paver installation, codes, etc., so I opted to work with them. They started the job very quickly, the crew cleaned up at the end of each day, the job was completed on time and porta-pottys picked up within 3 days. Now the reason for my '4' star rating vs '5' - A couple of (smaller?) things: At one point, Nelson (proj mgr) said they might have to build up the pad area (he wasn't sure), which I thought was probably just him informing me of the usual process (no add'l charges were mentioned). However, when it came to pass I was informed there would be an add'l $800 added to my final bill for the pad build up. I was surprised and not altogether happy about it. Although I was able to negotiate a slight drop in the price... given I didn't want to stop the project, what else could I do but accept it? The only other 'hiccup' (which was quickly resolved) was due to the wrong pavers being installed as edging for the driveway (and ultimately the entire project if the mistake had not been caught). I notified Italo right away and he investigated and found that the order he placed was correct but the source company sent the wrong pavers. This could have been avoided had Mr. Pavers done a quality check once the pavers were received, but lesson learned. At any rate, it was quickly fixed - wrong pavers removed, correct pavers replaced - all good. I would recommend Mr. Pavers and would call them again if needed. I suggest future clients keep a wary eye on the project all the way through to completion, and conduct your own quality checks on everything - just to be sure. They gave me a written warranty (25 yrs on installation, lifetime on pavers), which I understand is the standard in the industry. Hopefully I won't experience any issues going forward but if I do, I hope they will honor their warranty as written (I've noticed other reviews where this did not happen). read more

We hired Mr. Pavers to replace our concrete driveway with pavers. Their bid was the lowest by a significant margin. A key point for us is that they use only their own employees. Of the other bids, the middle-priced ones all used subcontractors. Other than Mr. Pavers, only the most expensive bid used their own employees, and that bid was almost twice the Mr. Pavers bid. The Mr. Pavers salesguy (John) inspired confidence, and after doing drivebys of some of their other driveway work, we chose them. It turns out our confidence was well-placed. They did excellent work, and very quickly. Our new driveway is beautiful, and as far as I can tell, it was constructed consistent with the highest design standards as far as foundation, sidesupports, etc. The owners and the workers are all Brazilian, and you can sense the solidarity amongst them. That would give me a little more confidence that their is continuity and loyalty amongst their workers. There is one caveat. Some paver companies will pull permits for you, others will say in their contracts that you must do it yourself. Mr. Pavers' contract states that you, the owner, are responsible for permits. This arrangement puts the owner in a somewhat tricky situation as the middleman between the city and the contractor. The guys at Mr. Pavers told us we would not need a permit for a driveway replacement. In some jurisdictions that's the correct answer. In ours, it was not. We handled the permitting and it worked out fine, but in retrospect I can see how doing the permitting yourself while the contractor only does the work can be problematic. read more
