After learning that this place was under new ownership since we've been over a decade ago, we decided to give this place another try and it did not disappoint. Walking in, we were greeted right away and seated. Wasn't too busy for a Saturday night around 7:30pm. The decor was more modern, with a really cool city mural painted on the wall. Our server was friendly, quick and efficient. He was an older man with a good sense of humor which we loved. Our party of 3 ordered various beef pho's. We were all happy with our soups, hot, tasty, delicious with all the fixings. Definitely satisfied our pho cravings. We ordered our taro boba drinks and Vietnamese coffee to go. The taro smoothie was delicious, however the boba in it was a bit hard. The coffee was also delicious. It was a really good visit and happy to have returned. Stopped by during a hot day. Oddly enough I ordered pho. Went with their #13 which is their special with all the fixings. Came hungry left full and dripping of sweat. I wasn't complaining though. I really enjoyed my meal. Especially the iced water with a sliver of lime. The pho, was perfect and very flavorful. I was helped by a two man team. Friendly, efficient and quick. The place seems to be here for a long time now. The floors are a little sticky in the bathroom. There were multiple tvs with different channels playing. Their egg rolls are alright. You know this was a very unexpected find for me. I was initially thinking banh mis and yelp led me to the place next to this...but we were leaning towards noodles and ended up going into this place. Only one other table was present (this was about 11am ish). I got the BBH which was a decent choice. The broth was tasty and it had plenty of ingredients: pork blood, pork loaf, no pig hock tho, some other meats. The broth could use more shrimp paste or at least that's what I prefer. Noodles were definitely overcooked though... near mushy texture. Overall, it tastes good but there were some misses with the bbh. Little msg, this is the closest to the good pho I've had that I can find near by me. Went with my partner, brought friends many times. My order's always been tai nam gan without rare steak and more tendon. First time I was here the old guy server looked upset that I made changes to the order but whatever. I tipped fat and he looked happy. But it happened over and over again. I know he recognizes me and even tho I've ordered like this for countless times he always made that face. I gave him more chances, visited maybe 10 more times before I wrote this review. Today I went and this old guy again. Doesn't even smile. Looks almost angry that I'm here. I thought maybe he's upset about "more tendon" part so I just said "no rare steak please". And he makes the angry face and tsk tsk me. Seriously? You live in America and you are mad at people taking stuff out from their food? My bill was 38.60 something dollars today. I said I'll pay with venmo because usually that helps the business. I showed him $40 and he said it's $38.60 like he wants me to tip more. You tsk tsk me and expect me to tip more? I hope you guys talk about me and treat your future customers better because I know you all know me. Tips based on service and I've been tipping over 20% all this time to get that shitty service.
