Hints of lime to break down the meat and not too salty. The sides - black beans and plantains were not overly salty and ample portioned. We jokingly call it "crack chicken." Flavor bursts through each bite. Always get the bigger size, trust me, you'll eat the left overs later. All of the sides are amazing. My personal favorites are the plantains, rice and black beans, yuca, (I never enjoyed this before traveling to South America, now I love it), and all their amazing desserts. I love the food here! The rotisserie chicken is amazingly charred just right! So a "Sazón Latino " with a delicious sides cole slaw , Mac and cheese and for dessert a delicious Tres leches! Yummy! I was skeptical at first because my moms a healthy support small businesses kinda woman, but holy Christina Aguilera on a bun, she made me a believer. First off, the chicken is off the chain. It's got plenty of flavor and it's moist enough to where it's juicy without having to worry about it falling apart. Then there's the plantains, oh shit I love them things, they're like fried bananas. Then my favorite; the motherfucking Mac and Cheese. This Mac and Cheese is the end all be all of Mac and Cheese. Kraft Mac and Cheese ain't got SHIT on Mr. Pollo's divine Mac and Cheese. This place is incredible. I drove all the way from Manhattan in the middle of my work day, randomly because I saw this place pop up on tiktok. I told my boss I was going out for lunch and proceeded to drive 23 hours straight, not stopping until I hit the parking lot. As I ate the chicken it became increasingly apparent that I had made the right choice, this place knows chicken. This place lives, and breathes chicken. The sides were phenomenal and the atmosphere was more homely than anything you can find in a 30 miles radius of the dystopian environment I hail from (IE NYC). Eat everything here. It's all so delicious! The first time I went I got the 1/2 chicken plate. The chicken is not what you are used to. It's not the size of a turkey. It's actually what it should be a regular sized bird not pumped full of hormones to enlarge it. So with that, order appropriately and do t complain and the chicken being small. It's organic. The first visit made me want more of those awesome flavors. Second visit was yesterday. I forgot to take pictures of our food but we got the chicken and rice bowl, cilantro chicken soup, and tostones. The tostones were absolutely incredible, the bowl was bursting with flavor and the soup is delicious if you like cilantro. The passion fruit and soursop juices are so good also!
