Eat everything here. It's all so delicious! The first time I went I got the 1/2 chicken plate. The chicken is not what you are used to. It's not the size of a turkey. It's actually what it should be a regular sized bird not pumped full of hormones to enlarge it. So with that, order appropriately and do t complain and the chicken being small. It's organic. The first visit made me want more of those awesome flavors. Second visit was yesterday. I forgot to take pictures of our food but we got the chicken and rice bowl, cilantro chicken soup, and tostones. The tostones were absolutely incredible, the bowl was bursting with flavor and the soup is delicious if you like cilantro. The passion fruit and soursop juices are so good also! Absolutely delicious! And fast and friendly. We got quarter chicken meals with rice and beans, a heaping scoop of fresh pico de gallo, and yuca fries. Everything was so fresh and savory. My favorite was the salsas - the green jalapeno salsa was wow, the onions and vinegar made my tastebuds sing, and the cilantro cream sauce was yum. Definitely worth a trip or a stop on a road trip. WISH I COULD GIVE 10 STARS!!! My good gracious- I am like praising that I looked this place up!! The reviews do not LIE! I could have DRANK all the salsas... I wanted to get up and dance with the rotisserie chicken to daddy yankee but I remained calm and savored the sweet meat!! I will drive any distance to get me some of this food. I have been so disappointed for three years after leaving the wide selection of foods available in large cities to come here. But Mr. Pollo opening makes me smile! Maybe they're gonna be the one that saves me! Haha It is a small establishment with humble food that is just what hits the spot - soul food from other parts of the world. Definitely fresh, healthy food! Made from whole foods and ingredients you can pronounce - definitely better than fast food and only a dollar or two more. Your body will thank you. Mr. Pollo serves marinated, grilled whole chicken (or broken down chickens), with a great list of sides to choose from (rice, black beans, fried yucca, sweet plantains (maduros), mac and cheese that looked delicious, and veggies. Their sauces for their chicken are traditional and tasty! They also have soup and grilled chicken bowls. It is the kind of meal that leaves your mouth happy, your belly satisfied, your wallet fat, and your brain okay with what you've just done. They also have a great assortment of desserts and drinks (they have guava drinks!) I will definitely be back, and hope to see them do well and bring some more flavors of Venezuela and Peru to this area! Rooting for lomo saltado and REAL ceviche next! Finally got to try this place and I am disappointed in myself that I waited so long! Ordered the whole chicken with two sides. Was plenty of food for two people and even had leftovers. Rice and beans were tasty and the plantains were perfect. Their green sauce is also so darn good, it was hard not to drench the chicken in it although the chicken was delicious on its own. We went there for lunch today. I ordered the half chicken with rice&beans and pico. The chicken was juicy, the beans were flavorful, and pico was so fresh. The mix of pico with the creamy cilantro sauce on the chicken is perfection. My partner got the same thing except for potato salad and he said it was a 10/10. I had the chicken bowl which came with avocado, black beans, rice, pick de Gallo, stew chicken, and a side of extra onions. All very good. Like a previous poster mentioned, this definitely reminds me of the food in Costa Rica. Light and refreshing with plenty of flavor. The menu is small, which is good for them just starting out because a restaurant should always start with a few staple items and expand. I'll definitely be back to try more. Man oh man why have I waited so long to try here. Had the dark meat meal. Chicken with the cilantro sauce was 10/10. I'm a HUGE fan of plantain and they were cooked perfect. My spouse & I have eaten at Mr Pollo 2x. The 1st time my spouse had bad stomach cramps not long after eating. I was fine. Thought maybe he wasn't use to the spices. 2nd time we both got very ill with terrible symptoms of food poisoning. Both of us were sick for almost 2 days. So needless to say, we won't return. Was looking for something new, and stumbled on a solid 5 Star rated place. So I had to see what this was all about. Walked in and was greeted nicely. Super nice folks on a busy Friday night. Told them we were new so they explained everything. We ended up getting the 2 Person Combo and some Tostones. Our sides were beans and plantains. We got home and they also threw in some Celantro Sauce, Green Hot sauce and some pickled onions I think. All three were AWESOME!!! Chix was super tasty, juicy, and full of flavor. The way they char grill the Chix was on point. Again, the folks were super nice and we will be back. Tostones....were good.....maybe just not for me. So much left to eat...but so full......tomorrow needs to come sooner for leftovers....lol. read more

This is one of those places that you find and refer to as a diamond in the rough. You almost hate to share how great the food is because You don't want to stand in a long line to get it one day. But let me tell you. This is a go to spot. Service was great. People were nice. Food was great. This place is a favorite, delicious chicken, sides and sauces. It never disappoints! The rice and beans, coleslaw and aguaditito soup are all perfect together and alone. The service is also top notch. They missed something yesterday and I called about it just to see if I could get it the next day.
