Mr. Ramen hit the spot after our musical show. The service was fast and convenient and the food was good. We ordered the Shoyu ramen combo with gyoza and curry rice, Chicken Bamboo ramen and Shio ramen extra spicy, and the Karaage.

Went for a late night ramen bowl. Service was fast at this time of night with about 4 other tables being waited on. The waiter explained the people's top choices and I decided on the Miso kimchi ramen with a hard-boiled egg and a chicken cutlet. It was good choice of ramen even though I heavily lean on protein topped ramen options overall. Definitely one of the spots to go to in little tokyo.

Thiss is the 4th ramen place I've tried in little Tokyo and in general ramen does not speak to me very often. However I decided to give this place a go as I've heard this is a classic staple in LT LA. I'm so pleased to admit that although I was hesitant about ordering a tonkotsu ramen, I think I've finally found a place that caters to my specific palette and it's funny to me lol. Reason being is most mature taste buds prefer the fatty char siu pork, the soft boiled jammy eggs and I'm just a kid over here!! Like you're telling me my bowl came with perfectly al dente noodles, a perfectly (hard) boiled egg AND cuts of pork without the fatty marbling that I don't preference in ramen?! Not to mention the main character- the pork bone broth that is light, soft in creamy/milkiness and perfectly salted. Thank you Mr Ramen for this experience and for renewing my love, or helping me find my perfect bowl of ramen. Also pricing is fair- I had a combo which came with pork fried rice for $18. Will be back.

Park in nearby structures + outdated interior with carpeting + no wait time. Ordered the shio ramen ($13) which tasted okay, the broth and noodles didn't really stand out. Better ramen places in Little Tokyo.

This place never misses to amaze me. Has turned into my family spot for sometime and we just love it. The food is amazing and delicious. The service may take sometime depending on the time of day. Highly recommend Sundays. The restaurant has always good tunes and the artwork is just breathtaking Love this place! It's

Mr. Ramen, more like big daddy ramen! They punch a good flavor where the broth is liquid gold and that soft boiled egg is my way of saying "Hey, look at me. I'm fancy and I can get my egg fix during this egg shortage." The perfect stop to feel boujee, comfort and flavor. The space itself is small but cozy inside, with patron artwork along the walls that make you think everyone and their mama can draw but you. But that's ok, because you are eating Mr. Ramen, with the noodle goodness of a good hug letting you know, you don't need to be an artist to enjoy this bowl. A noodley cuddle for your soul, if you will. Edible therapy, without the cost of a therapist, and a great staff who won't judge you for eating ramen at 12pm or 12am.

Came here for a midnight ramen craving with my boyfriend and thankfully Mr. Ramen closes at 1am! As expected, parking in DTLA can be quite annoying, but there's a small parking lot that's $15 very close by. There were 2 people ahead of me on the waitlist but we were all seated fairly quick after I put my name down. The waiters were quick to clean up tables and get us seated. The restaurant is a bit small so the tables are quite close to each other. I wasn't bothered by it but just something to note. I found the Japanese artwork on the walls fun to look at. They have a wide selection of ramen flavors, and the combo's are totally worth the price. $17 for a bowl of ramen, gyoza's, AND a side of curry rice!! The gyoza's were crispy with a juicy pork filling. The ramen had a deep rich broth with perfectly cooked noodles. The pork was tender and "fall off the bone" texture. The curry had a fresh homemade flavor!! Would have loved if it came with vegetables or chicken, but for the price it makes sense that it was just curry sauce and rice. The edamame were very tasty, garlic butter, soy sauce, and I tasted a hint of Siracha. The butter flavor is very prominent so if you're not a fan of butter I recommend getting the regular edamame. Overall I'd rate this place a 10/10. Affordable prices, delicious food, and opens until 1am Thursday- Sunday!! This is a perfect place to come late night, or in early evening. It's in the heart of Little Tokyo so there's a lot to do in the area!

Extremely slow service. Seating also took longer than it should. Food was decent but took almost 45 minutes to arrive. Servers were polite, just seemed overwhelmed and inattentive. Definitely a hole in the wall but good late night option that isn't a chain.

There's something magical about sitting down with a steaming bowl of traditional ramen. I've been to this spot multiple times, and every visit feels like the first warm, comforting, and absolutely delicious. The rich, flavorful broth has that perfect depth you can only get from hours of simmering. The noodles? Perfectly chewy every time. Add the tender slices of pork, soft-boiled egg, and fresh toppings, and it's like each ingredient is telling its own story. What keeps me coming back isn't just the food it's the whole experience. The cozy atmosphere, the friendly staff who greet you like family, and the consistency in flavor make it my go-to place whenever I'm craving authentic ramen. For anyone who loves hearty, soul-warming food, this is the spot to try. One bowl and you'll understand why I keep coming back for more

Dinner in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles, California... After visiting the Shohei Ohtani mural on the wall of the Miyako Hotel, we walked across the street to Mr. Ramen. This is a cozy, hipster, old-school restaurant with efficient, polite service. I liked the little artwork hanging on the wall... made by customers! I got the Tofu Ramen, which was healthy and filling. The broth was kind of creamy and not too salty! The noodles were chewy, and the veggies were fresh! The meal wasn't too heavy either, but just right on a warm, September evening! Thank you!

I loved this place. With so many similar places to in the area to choose from we sort of just stopped here based upon what we saw other ppl eating when we looked in the window. Upon entering (later on a Saturday night) the place was packed but they seated us right away. I settled on a mini pork ramen while my friend went with the regular size. Mine felt like just the right amount. We also got the gyoza and rice curry. Everything we had was so tasty!!! I was immediately looking to see if it was a franchise so I could find it closer to my own house. Also have to mention the super cool vibe! Artwork on the walls was so fun and the customer artwork was such a nice added bonus.

The food was amazing the soup I got was something with the T and it was a pork broth one. I got it with tofu and corn and lemons on the side. So delicious and it was perfect because I felt like I was getting sick. I also ordered a large Saparro. My guest got herself the kimchi one. She also loved it and "it hit the spot". I will come back to try their karage chicken and maybe the bento box.

I was on a short break and decided I wanted a bite to eat so I went to Mr. Ramen located in LA' S little Tokyo. Once you walk in you see how spacious the restaurant is and you notice a lot of art work on the walls including the restaurants art work! I sat down and was greeted quickly and given the menu I wanted to step out of my comfort zone so I ordered the beef curry Ramen and it did not disappoint It was so tasty! Such a good mix of Ramen and curry. It balanced so well! It came with a decent amount of beef, green onion, regular white onion, Ramen and I went ahead and added an egg which was not marinated in that special soy sauce mix like most Ramen spots, but while it sat in my soup, it picked up the flavor of the curry broth, so it wasn't so bad! I'm glad I was nearby and decided to go here. I'll definitely come back soon and try a different Ramen bathroom was big and clean!

Dining here is sharing history and that's special.

Is there any outdoor dining right now?

We take only to go orders at moment. Postmates available :)

When will you open for lunch take out?

We are open for 3:00pm to 10:00pm :)

Is this place open for outdoor dining?

Yes, we are. Open hour is 3:00pm to 10:00pm.

Can you order ramen to go?

Sorry, we no longer take to go orders.

    Is there any vegan ramen?

Yes! There was two options I believe. They have a vegetarian menu that you can ask for that has other vegan options in it as well!

Do they have spicy miso ramen? Or an option to add spice to tonkotsu?

They offer spicey Ramen and Vegetarian Ramen. Large portions. Extra toppings are available.

What are the red things added to the curry and ramen? They look like bell pepper but don't taste anything like them and they are almost savory. They're so delicious.

They're called fukujinzuke - a type of pickle relish of mostly daikon radish.

The fried rice was also a standout and paired perfectly with the meal. Service was great from start to finish. The staff was attentive, friendly, and kept everything moving despite how busy it was. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. If you're in LA and in the mood for ramen, this is a spot you should absolutely check out.

All the workers answered my questions and even as the dinner rush came in, I never felt like I was pressured to hurry up. Huge kudos to them for this. There are lots of places to get ramen in Little Tokyo and I have my go to places, but now that so many other ramen places are popping up in the 626, the daunting task of driving to DTLA and finding parking have also factored into my decision to wander out. But as a J-fashion and anime fan, I'm just constantly thrown back into the Little Tokyo vortex. For this recent visit, I remember my friend hyping up the Anaheim Rakkan Ramen, so I thought why not? Came a bit later into the dinner rush, around 6-something PM and was seated immediately as a solo diner on a Friday night. It started to get a bit busier around the time I was finishing up. Seating is a bit tight inside with a couple of tables, counter bar seating, but they do have outdoors seating as well. Food came out efficiently and super piping hot. For my dinner, I got the: 1) Coffee Jelly: -One of my favorite, comforting Japanese desserts. If a bakery has it, I'll order it, and I felt a bit indulgent so I ordered it then. Staff asked if I wanted to have it at the end or just have it come out ASAP. I said ASAP and it was a good palate cleanser between the savory and sweet so I didn't get tired of the flavor. Not a super huge amount of coffee jelly (but makes sense since this is a restaurant and not a to go ordering counter at a bakery), but it was silky and had a good coffee flavor to it. You get a small "shot" of heavy cream milk to mix in and you can control how sweet you want it. Not bad. 2) Ramen Sushi Combo (Spicy Quartz Ramen + Aburi Salmon): -This comes with any signature ramen and any 2 pieces of sushi (extra fee for any upgrades) -I got their spicy quartz ramen, which is their creamy miso broth ramen made with your choice of chicken or pork chashu (I got pork), crispy fried garlic, seasoned egg, fried broccolini, and 2 pieces of nori. -There's LOTS of crispy fried garlic pieces in it. Every bite has a slight garlic after taste and it's nice to add a bit of crunchy texture to the ramen. -The broccolini is unique, I don't think I've ever had that with a ramen before and it's nice to have some greens too. - It's a seasoned egg, not a soft boiled egg, so don't expect that. It's not hard boiled all the way, but the flavor wasn't super strong for the egg. Not bad, but not the best. -The noodles are thicker egg noodles that had a nice chew and texture to it. However, the broth flavor wasn't that strong to me? If that makes sense. You get a good taste of creamy miso and a very slight kick, but I felt like the 2 small pieces of chashu and noodles didn't really take the flavor of the broth that well. Maybe I should have left my bowl of ramen soaking longer to get a better taste profile? Who knows. 3) Aburi Salmon (2 pieces): -I chose this with my combo and it doesn't incur an extra free. It's a seared salmon with mayo on top. -Not bad. Can never go wrong with aburi salmon. It's comparable to what you can get from Kura. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing or maybe my taste buds have been blasted by ramen spots with heavier, flavor intensive broths like Tenkaippin and Nagi. I don't mind going if someone else invites me and hopefully it's a better experience.

I remember going here during their grand opening ages ago, did their, back then, super cheap deal with unlimited noodle refill (even further discounted due to the special event day) and eating to the point of barely being able to sit up in the car without throwing up. I have a picture of my brother eating here in middle school with us and then later on in his early 20's. Crazy time lapse, and truly shows what a favorite this place is and it's place in the community. As with all businesses in Little Tokyo, parking can suck (not as bad as K-town, but you're either paying or super circling around). Service is super efficient, welcoming and polite, as with their other locations as well. It's not the biggest restaurant, but none of the Shinsengumis I've been to have been particularly large. With this location, from my first visit, and all the subsequent visits, I always get their Hakata ramen, firmer noodles, since the longer I eat and enjoy the food, they'll soften a bit, less soup oil and less saltiness. I get all of the toppings that it comes with and I always add in a poached egg. Love the strong pork flavor since they stew their broth for so long and the tenderness of the chashu (sometimes I order more). Prices have definitely gone up and a slightly altered upgraded version of this ramen is almost $30 if you're not careful enough. Times have changed but how good this place hasn't. There's more ramen options now than there were like 10 years ago, but Shinsengumi is always a classic.

Also got a yuzu beer to try and it was delicious, nice yuzu flavor with some tanginess. I had the shoyu with duck while my husband had the yama tonkotsu that came with fragrant black garlic oil. The tonkotsu is not one of those rich, milky, creamy ones and I personally like these lighter ones more. I also enjoyed the shoyu which had a pleasant depth of flavor, but it felt like it was relying too heavily on MSG for umami. Noodles came out chewy. Definitely not the best ramens I've had but are some of the better ones in LA. Our server was friendly, as were the rest of the staff. Service was quick. The restaurant decor feels straight out of Japan, an extra bit of fun. There's a $10 paid lot behind this block of buildings that's convenient for anything in this part of Little Tokyo.

This place was also dog friendly and my small Maltese was allowed to sit with us even though there was no outdoor dining

PREMISE: I went to this location on a Wednesday evening at approximately 5PM for a party of two…read more WAIT TIME: We got seated right away! There was not anyone at the restaurant at the time, but people did start trickling in as more time elapsed. We got our food relatively quickly as well. FOOD: I ordered the spicy pork tsukemen ($23.45), which is their dipping noodle. The noodles are thicker than standard ramen, but in a good way! It comes with thick chashu (thick, fatty pork) slices and soft boiled eggs. If you haven't had tsukemen before, you essentially dip your noodles into the broth and then eat it that way. The broth is extremely flavorful and there are also pieces of chashu in it as well. The only critique that I have regarding this is the broth was lukewarm which made the dish taste slightly off. I've tried this dish at another branch and the broth was also lukewarm there, so I'm not sure if this is a location issue or a standard amongst all branches. Also, this dish does not really have any vegetables in this, but I also don't know if traditional tsukemen has veggies included. SERVICE: Service was quick and everyone was nice and doing their job. Didn't seem like the staff was slacking or messing around while there weren't many customers. They were very attentive to us, refilling our water immediately once they saw it was getting low, and being very attentive towards if we had any other concerns or if we needed anything else. PARKING: There technically is street parking but since it's in Little Tokyo, it's going to be very difficult to find it. There's $4-6 valet parking available nearby the location. There are a lot of people walking around though so just be safe. INTERIOR: It's not too big of a place but it's also not too small as well. It looks very well kept and clean. BATHROOM: Two gender neutral bathroom stalls that are both very clean and accessible. No issues here with them. TLDR: Overall, I thought the place was pretty good to eat at! I would definitely come back for the tsukemen (as long as the broth is warmed up until it's hot). A very good dish combined with great music (they have some great Japanese music variety) is definitely a spot worth coming to with friends !! :))
