Both dishes ordered, carnitas and a chicken with broccoli were cooked great and fast! The beer was cold and large. My favorite was their guacamole! Yum!!! We enjoyed sitting outside. The food is your typical southeastern Mexican, plus there are a lot of different dishes on their menu too. We will be back!

Had the opportunity to try Mr Rayos and not bad but not great either. The Good: Service was fantastic. The menu is extensive. I want to say it is 5 pages long so many options available. The chips and salsa were good. Opportunities for improvement: Some of the food was bland. I had the California Burrito and the cheese sauce on top was good but the chicken was very bland and lacking flavor Again not a bad experience, just not great either.

Homemade tres leches cake. It was phenomenal!!!

My family & I LOVE Mr. Rayo! Hubby & I come here at least once a week since they opened, unless we are out of town. The carne asada is tender & full of flavor! The birria tacos are fall-apart tender & packed with meat. The tacos & burritos are consistently delicious. We are huge fans of the people who work here, as well. They treat us like family & are just amazing people! We are customers for life!!

Absolutely amazing!!! We randomly chose this restaurant on a Sunday early afternoon. It was perfect. The staff was very friendly, and our waiter was so nice. He recommended his favorite dishes and what's popular. I was so pleased with our food. The flavor was incredible and everything was so fresh. The restaurant is small but very nice inside. Prices were also very reasonable for the quality! Food came out super quick. They even offer different levels of spicy salsa. Such a great experience. They also offer outside seating. Will definitely be back!

Just open in the location that was formerly Roasting Oven for rotisserie chicken, right next to the Dunkins on Gold Hill Rd. Ugalde is the same family that owns and operates Casa Tequilla in Rock Hill. I went for lunch this morning around 11am and it was just starting to get busy. I had their Sopa De Pollo which was good though a little light on the chicken. I also had throw tacos, one chicken and one beef on flour tortilla. They offer free chips and salsa with mild and hot salsa options Sadly the tortilla chips were cold.. The Staff is great, I met Jessie and Cesar, two of the brothers who are in the family business. Their Father is nicknamed Rayo, Spanish for lightening, because he was such a quick worker. They have an excellent and extensive menu lots of choices & something for everyone. They also have a very nice outside patio. As of 10/18, they are waiting for their liquor license but in the mean time they are offer coupons for complimentary small margaritas for your future visit.

We were passing thru and had some pretty tasty Mexican here for lunch. Service was good. The atmosphere is nice. Chips and salsa came with a mild and a spicy. Excellent spicy! My carnitas burrito with cilantro rice, guac, etc was tasty. A tiny bit dry but very flavorful. My spouse had the poblanos meal. She has had better...she didn't care for the batter. But generally good spot.

Staff was courteous and friendly, food was better than expected, Pork Belly tacos are for a limited time get them while you can, an authentic Mexican bar feel, comfortable seating and great spot to catch a game or weekday lunch.

My friends and I had a very overdue night out at Mr Rayo last night. Our server was amazing, answering so many of our questions (he probably thought we had never been to a Mexican restaurant before). 2 of us ordered super chimichanga (steak) and it was massive, we probably should have shared one. It was delish!! One had carnitas and he raved about his dish. Our other friend couldn't make up her mind so ordered the pick 3 with cheese quesadilla, chicken chimichanga and beef burrito, sampling everything and said she would order it all again. It was a busy night, we got there early and thoroughly enjoyed our night out. Will definitely be a place to visit often!!

ACP and pick your platter. Mild and hot salsa were offered. Preferred the hot. Fresh guacamole is highly recommended!

Great food and service! The portions were plenty. Had so much that I have leftovers for lunch today! Fresh guacamole was super! Margaritas were yummy! We'll definitely be recommending and returning.

Highly recommend, I give this new mexican grill restaurant in fort mill area 10 Top Notch!! This is one restaurant that I can revisit tomorrow because the food, service, and atmosphere were Exceptional! The atmosphere is so vibrant and inviting with the amazing paintings on the walls! This was my 1st time visiting tonight with friends and let me just say this, Mr. Rayo Mexican Grill did not disappoint at all! I had the mixed fajitas with chicken and steak!! The chicken, steak, and veggies were seasoned and cooked to perfection. Hands down, the best I have ever had!! My friend had the veggie taco salad because she is a vegetarian. She said that it was scrumptious! She said that only thing she would change is have the black beans on top of the salad instead of the bottom because the juice from the beans made the taco shell a little soggy! Also, we had guacamole! It was delicious Lastly, my other friend had the steak quesadilla and rice.. He said it was mouthwatering!! The steak was tender and cooked to perfection. He also said that rice was excellent, not overcooked or undercooked but just right. Mr. Rayo Mexican Grille, thanks for an excellent experience tonight! I will definitely be back!! Everyone, please try this restaurant out for yourself, it has so many food options.. I promise you will not be Disappointed!!

From the service, to the cleanliness, to the level of deliciousness, this place nailed it! The fried chicken is the perfect amount of juiciness, thickness and breading, then slap on your flavor of choice and make it into a sandwhich, game over! I enjoyed the hot honey sandwhich, which I was scared of being too hot, but it wasn't, it was the perfect balance of spice and sweet. My husband enjoyed the buffalo ranch sandwich and we ordered the cheesy bbq sandwich for the kids to split and they devoured it. Now let's talk about the fries....the portion is very respectful. An entire tray for $6 is mind blowing. You can tell they are real and fresh and definitely on my top 2 fry list! Super Chix high five!

This is the cutest little gem tucked away at the end of a strip mall. The second you walk in, you're greeted by a fun poppy mural and a display of all the delicious pastries of the day. Immediately I'm like, okay, I'm going to like it here! We had about a 20-minute wait, but thankfully there was plenty of time for mimosas and catch up chitchat! And honestly, the time flew by... we weren't even finished with them before we were seated. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the service was on point from there. Someone filled our water glasses almost immediately after we sat down, and we never had a dry cup. Mimosa refills were quick, too! I also grabbed a chai latte that came in the cutest old-school homemade-looking cup and was perfectly warm and spiced. Soooo good! For food, two of us ordered the Fresh Pick Sandwich with fresh tomatoes, stracciatella, kale pesto aioli, arugula, fresh basil and balsamic glaze on perfectly toasted sourdough. I added avocado and bacon and basically turned it into the most deliciously elevated BLT of my life. I also made a pro side swap for my side and went with the cheesy grits. They were delicious. No notes! My friend got the Fresh Pick without tomatoes and added prosciutto, and another friend ordered The Grit with shrimp, and that plate was BEAUTIFUL. Sweet pepper and tomato sauce, mushrooms, crispy onions, arugula and an egg over a plate of grits. Between us, there were clean plates, full bellies and a whole lot of "what are we trying next time?" conversations happening. The food came out quickly, the service was great, the atmosphere was adorable, and it was just an all-around excellent brunch. My only complaints? 1-Why do they have the cutest pastry merch for kids but not adults... I need that "I'm flaky" croissant shirt lol! And 2-Why is this little gem not closer to me?! But clearly that just means I need to make the drive again. Poppyseed Kitchen has officially been added to the "worth the trip" list!

First, Speckled Pear has removed the community seating and the prepared food, bakery and produce counters from my earlier visits and replaced them with true "restaurant" tables. The focus is now squarely on dining, with lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch service. And oh, there's still a wine bar and bottles are still available for purchase. In my humble view a significant positive step. Our servers were excellent, including helpfully explaining some of the wine options (my wife and sister-in-law ordered a flight). Still a fairly casual environment. Great acoustics- I hate echo chambers.
