My go-to has been the lunch menu, and it's had consistently good food and portions. The service, however, can be spotty depending on who you get and how busy they are. This is one of the few Mexican restaurants where I enjoy eating the beans and rice; they are very flavorful. Their proteins are cooked with very good flavor as well. I recently discovered their chicken soup, and it is amazing, especially on a cold day. The restaurant is very clean and well-maintained. Plenty of parking, and it's good for large groups; they have plenty of tables. Give it a shot if you are close by; you won't be disappointed. read more

This spot is really good. Service is always kind and right on point. It always seems very clean and the ambiance is really cute and done well compared to many others. Food is hot and fresh each time I have been. I am a pretty basic gal that loves a hard shell taco and they are great. Never greasy and full of fresh ingredients. Our last visit my husband got the lime margarita on the rocks that was the special of the day and it was Delicious. I love that they always have Bottled Mexican Coke- it's an extra star for me if you are rocking the good good. So next time you want great Mexican food this is your spot. read more

We were greeted immediately and served chips and salsa moments after sitting. The servers were all very nice and friendly. They have a typical Mexican restaurant menu with a few unique dishes. I ordered the Fajita Taco Salad Trio. The meat was seasoned well. The shell was wet because all of the wet ingredients on it but the sides were crispy. The veggies inside were delicious as well. My friend had the Arroz Con Pollo with Chicken, Steak, and Shrimp. He said that he enjoyed it as well. The environment is vibrant with traditional and eclectic Mexican Decor. The music is at a good level and they also have 3 televisions that were showing sports. Overall it was a good experience. read more

Restaurant sits in strip mall on corner. Pass it often and finally decided to stop in on a Friday around 6pm. There were a few people but not crowded- yet ~~Food: they have a lot of selections - many pages worth - they do have vegetarian options. I had verde chicken enchiladas, black beans and Mexican rice- chicken is shredded- nice flavor- verde sauce was tasty - Unsweet tea was good- that's rare - it tasted fresh. Margaritas is located in Fort Mil right off US 21. It is in the corner of a strip mall. The location is genius for people have spent hours in the DMV which is two businesses over. My visit was impromptu! The restaurant is bright and decorated festively. The bar area is a nice size and the bathrooms are clean. Customer service was extremely good. The prices are ok and align with the area. The food was fresh and delicious! I had chimichangas that were slightly overcooked nevertheless the taste was delicious. The drinks were superb to say the least. I definitely would come back here alone or with a group because the size of the restaurant is accommodating! read more

Decent Mexican food, but not sure about the portions. Came for lunch and strictly ordered off the lunch menu. The complimentary chips and salsa were crispy, but the salsa was bland. Then the portion size for everything was small. My kids quesadilla was a soft taco tortilla with cheese. It was extremely small, and she was still hungry after it. I did the birra and it was a small scoop inside the tortilla, with a lot of filler (peppers, stewed tomato, etc). There were at least 4 bites where it was just tortilla, and if it was my first foray into birra, I wouldn't understand the hype. We have been to other locations and have had other menu items that were good for adults...but overall have been disappointed by kids portions, and am adding birra to the list. read more

Went here for our Friday out. Cold Modelo and excellent margaritas. Food is always good, and consistent. Plenty of chips and salsa. Had the mini chimichangas this time, but usually a burrito, always good. Same on service, always good. Great atmosphere, accommodating for a wheelchair. Such a shame. Used to be one of my favorites but today was an absolute disaster. It started before I even walked in. I walked past the manager and "bartender" to go in the side door. They watched as I walked up noticed it was "staff entrance only" and, instead of letting me know, watched and laughed as I tried the door. The server was very nice but very confused and overwhelmed, even though it was not super busy. I ordered a drink and once it came I ordered my food. I was done and waiting when he brought part of my food. I ordered a 2nd drink at that time but never got it until I was finished eating and trying to pay. I watched the same manager and "bar tender" try to figure out how to make the drink I ordered, taste it several times, laugh pour it out and try again. The Manager seems to be the real issue here. The food was very good, my server was very nice but that kid with the manager title needs to be fired. We almost went elsewhere because the Yelp review is below 3.5 but my husband was insistent and it looked packed so we gave it a go. The menu had lots of photos. I ordered the pineapple loco and it was freakin' delicious... I mean, it sounds disgusting... three types of meat mixed with fruit covered in cheese sauce... but it tasted amazing. The salsa, however, is maybe the worst in recent memory--it tasted like tomato sauce. With that salsa I'd agree it's about a 3.3-3.5 star restaurant. read more

Pretty disappointing at the Fort Mill site. They advertise "authentic" Mexican food, but nothing we had even came close. I live in a town where 65% are of Hispanic decent so there's a Mexican spot on almost every corner, yet only two are authentic Mexican. This place is American Mexican. My taco salad was the smallest I've ever seen -- more like a flat saucer with very little than a meal. The others tried the Hawaiian tacos (just okay), a sparse vegetarian plate, and a tiny, slightly overcooked cheese enchilada for my granddaughter. We also had to keep flagging down the wait staff. The décor is fun, but overall, the food and service were mediocre and not worth a return visit. read more

Came here for lunch with two other friends. The service was very slow and our food took forever to arrive. The restaurant was wasn't busy either. My food didn't come with theirs and I had to wait another 10 min. No acknowledgement of the delay. My friend ordered the shrimp fajitas and they don't serve on sizzling platter. They also forgot her tortillas so she couldn't get started since the server didn't come back. I ordered the chicken fajitas. Again not served on a sizzling platter. Also, they don't serve the fajitas with any lettuce, tomato or sour cream. You must order that as a side. The salsa was bland. The rice has an odd taste. Do yourself a favor and go to Panchitos. Went here on Cinco de Mayo, big mistake, plenty of people working, just not organized at all. Was told our wait would be 30 min. We went to the bar & found a seat. To make it easy we chose two of the already blended drinks, then got 2 more after that. After an hour we were finally asked to place an order we ordered & split 1 meal. Chicken Chipotle with pineapple. The bill was $108.00! What?? 1 meal & 4 pre mixed drinks?? We did see a menu & we knew the meal was $20.00. Service always good and quick. Their prices have definitely increased but they don't charge for additional salsa like some other local Mexican locales. They have also done some Interior upgrades which look nice and I actually appreciate the TVs being relegated to just the bar now. Servers always nice and patient. Worst Experience Ever - They Stole Money From Me My partner and I were looking for a place to eat breakfast around 11 a.m. on a Sunday, and since all the breakfast spots were packed, we decided to try Margaritas. The place looks nice inside, but that's where the positives end. We didn't get a single drink refill until our food came out, and even after finishing our drinks again, no one came by to offer more. Same thing with the chips--no refills. The waitress had a rude attitude when I asked about a military discount. I honestly don't care about the discount itself, but her snarky "never heard of it" response was completely unprofessional. Service was awful. No one checked on us once after we got our food. To top it all off, they stole from me. My bill was $37.82. I handed them $40 in cash and only got $1 back--shortchanging me over a dollar. I didn't even bother arguing at that point. I just wanted to get out. This was hands down the worst restaurant experience I've had. Don't waste your time or money here. read more

If based on the appetizer and main meal alone, this would be an easy 5 stars. As a matter of fact, the shrimp enchiladas are the best I ever had and we were given ample portions. Unfortunately, the waitress was awful and very inattentive and the place wasn't even busy when we were there. We had to constantly ask for drink, salsa and chip refills, and when they were fulfilled, it was someone else and not our waitress who stepped up. When we were done eating and after 10 minutes of waiting, we ordered our deserts to go (2 slices of cheesecake) 15 minutes later, they arrived with the check. To add insult to injury, we were charged a "to go" fee and as our waitress checked us out at the register, she watched closely while I filled out the tip and signed the check as if looking to see what her tip was going to be.... And I'm glad I did I order the pineapple fajitas. It come with chicken, steaks and shrimp. It reminded me of our fin time in Dominican Republican when I was just standing at a corner taco stand. Ordered take out early on purpose. To be ready for pickup at 5:00 PM. When I got there, At first acted like they didn't even have our order but checked in the kitchen and they have it ... it's just not ready. Side note ... they are not that busy. Lots of empty tables. Lots of staff standing around. Walking out the door with our food at 5:25. Understand $125 isn't a huge tab but lots of options for dinner in this area. read more

After shopping at the outlets we needed food and AC and Margarita's seemed to be one of the closest options that sounded family friendly. This was our first time in and we were really impressed. Not only did the food come out super fast, it was all so good! The portions were huge and my growing football players happily cleared most of the leftovers for us. The pineapple explosion fajitas (or something like that) were amazing. The Texano burrito was so good! The shrimp tacos were beautifully displayed and delicious, and I think my son got the shrimp enchiladas but he inhaled it before I got a bite. This will definitely be our go to spot for after shopping at the outlets, great value for the prices and fun atmosphere. Really Cute venue -- pretty attentive waiters but food was just mediocre. Had a good Jalapeño Margarita. Ordered the Appetizer Empanadas- they were Chicken and pretty good . I was recently in the area and my go to restaurant was closed so we stumbled across Margaritas. This place is delicious. Their menu is so expansive it's difficult to make a decision. I eventually decided on the Tropical Ceviche. The serving size was enough for two people. I had plenty to take home to eat the following day. All of their margaritas looked delicious and so did most of their menu. It was super tough to make a decision on what to order. I can't wait to come back and try more of their menu. Their complimentary chips and salsa was nice and spicy. The server was great and helped us find something on the menu for a member of our party that's lactose intolerant. I really want to go back and try all of their margaritas. You can get a tower of margaritas or even a flight of different flavors. Excellent Mexican joint close to work where I have been countless times with my coworkers. If you get in before 12:00 for lunch, you can usually get quick service. They have a huge, colorful menu including one whole page of lunch specials. Every day the make one of the lunches "extra" special by offering it for a little cheaper. They display it on a board as you come in. There are free chips and salsa. We often get sides of queso or guac too. There's even a tableside guac cart if you want it extra fresh. The best lunch items are the arroz con pollo, pollo con crema and lunch fajitas. You will typically be able to get lunch here for less than $10. Get the day's special and you'll get out for under $10 with tip. There are a lot of waiters and they're usually quick with refills on chips and salsa. There's a fun scene board with head cut outs for the kids outside. The restaurant looks very nice and clean. The bathrooms are some of the best I've seen. Getting in and out of the parking lot can be a little sketchy depending on which direction you're going, so be aware of that. read more
