Wow wow wow! This is absolutely the first Mexican restaurant in North Carolina that I have absolutely loved! Very nice ambiance , large and very comfortable tables / seating newer looking - either re done or it's fairly new I never ordered drinks. I'm such a lightweight. I don't usually take two drinks a year but something told me to order a margarita so I asked him and he said I suggest the margarita with just the slightest dash of orange juice on top and it cuts this citrus or something like that, which didn't make sense to me And I said is it too much orange juicy goes with a tiny dash you won't even know it. Something told me go ahead and try it.!! OMG-I've never been a huge fan of margaritas, but this is the best margarita I've ever had in my life! There's something to that orange juice-I don't get it, but I highly advise trying it!!! Food : Tired of sort of ordering the same old same old I asked the waiter for a recommendation and he recommended the chicken with fresh avocados , etc I looked at the menu and decided yeah that looks like a pretty good option -I hardly ever order soup Well, when they brought it, the bowl was huge and it was steaming fresh with tons of fresh cooked shredded chicken chunks of avocado, fresh and delicious. I mean it blew my mind. And when I took my first bite, I was so so happy I had made the choice of his recommendation It was probably the best soup I've ever had in my life. I'm not kidding. And I'm really picky on chips and salsa and the chips were home-cooked perfect and the salsa was delicious -I find this very rare in North Carolina Originally from Arizona, I have been nothing but disappointed in Mexican food- moving here . This gave me renewed hope . Not that it's authentic, authentic and the way a small local dive would be. And how the food in Mexico is because it's a poor country. I had a place there. I ate there all the time. The food was delicious, but they just didn't have the money to serve food say to this quality. So that said, I believe no one would be disappointed to come and try this restaurant ...and I will be driving the 30 minutes one-way from my home -to here , at least once a month to get more of this delicious menu !!

Churros filled with disappointment

I might be a little harsh of a critic but I want my reviews to have meaning. We were greeted shortly after entering. Once seated on the patio we were promptly served with chips and salsa. We ordered the small queso, #6 and #10 combinations. I honestly could've eaten a large queso and chips for dinner it had an authentic taste and was a great consistency. The beef is very good but a little oily but the rice is super fluffy and flavorful. We decided to get churros and I was severely disappointed. They looked great but were filled with maraschino cherry jelly. I've had churros filled with dulce de leche and chocolate but cherry jelly is a first. Definitely not meant for churros.

Spicy!!

Consistency is NOT key here. We live down the road and have been here many times, we order pretty much the same thing every time, and get charged a different amount every single time. Half the time the staff is super welcoming and friendly, half the time the server acts like they would rather doing anything else other than helping you. The food is good, but it's not worth the headache of hoping you get what you ordered and not be charged for things you didn't. Today we got charged a total of $4 worth of items we didn't order / receive. Make sure you're checking your receipts and all the charges.

We dined here on a Sunday night at 5pm. We were seated quickly with chips and salsa and asked about our drink order. The chips and salsa were delicious. One spicy and one less spicy was nice to have. We ordered and our food was delivered promptly. I had the Enchiladas Supreme and my hubby had chicken tacos. Both were excellent. The rice was the best rice I have ever had at a Mexican restaurant- usually I completely leave it on my plate. Service was attentive. We will definitely return.

This restaurant is located in a strip mall with ample parking. We were seated immediately. I forgot to ask our waitress name but she was great. We were served complimentary chips & salsa. Order a side of guacamole very good and fresh. I ordered a margarita and boy was I happy I did, the cups were huge and it was made pretty good. We all had different entrees and all were good. I will definitely be back here if in the area.

La Victoria has the best Mexican food in the area. I moved to Charlotte from Atlanta and it's has been a struggle to find some good food. Everything is usually overpriced for bland food and poor quality, but not here! The food and prices are great. I've tried different menu items and look forward to trying more dishes. The staff is always very friendly. You can't go wrong with La Victoria!

I originally was going to place the order online, but they're online option said it was unavailable so I went inside and sat down at the bar. The service was OK though it seemed most people did not speak English, which is fine. It just made it kind of harder to communicate. That said the food was decent but the reason why I gave two stars was because I feel very misled on pricing. The menu showed Que Siberia tacos three for $12. Steak/Asada tacos for three dollars which brings my total to 15+ the two drinks. I thought she said it was $20.80 so I paid it with my card and gave her five dollars cash for a tip. I get to the car just to double check the transaction and she charged me 3499 on my card and took the cash. I went back inside to confront her about this advising. She completely overcharged me, and she only offered to give my six dollars tip back to me. I am now going to dispute the transaction with my bank because I was unable to resolve this issue. That's sad.

The order was slow to come out and was incorrect, I'll live. It was the lack of follow up that got me. Never seen the ordered cheese dip or requested salsa. Did not see server any where. I drove down 77 to this location, after all I am still hungry. Warmly greeted and promptly seated. My server was FANTASTIC. Night and day difference in food and service. Order delivered correctly and promptly. He approached my table several times to insure all was good. The difference between to two stores has made me quit forever the Northlake location. Prices are extremely reasonable especially for the economy. Service is wonderful, chips and salsa were refilled promptly, drinks were tended to, and all with laughs and banter throughout. I got a steak quesadilla, my boyfriend got an enchilada plate. I wanted to try one of their specials but I was craving an easy meal all day! Everything came out fast, hot, and fresh. My spicy margarita had the perfect kick, and his giant mug of beer was ice cold. The restaurant is far bigger than it appears outside. I worried we would have to wait for a table, but they have a great set up. Music was great, plenty of TVs if your boyfriend (or you) wants to watch the game. Can't wait to come back!

favorite restaurant...we celebrate everything here!!…read more on of the reasons it was my favorite is the red salsa!! it's now inedible....sooooo bad!!!

I fell in love with Superica when I first moved to Charlotte nearly three years ago, and it quickly…read morebecame one of my go-to spots for reliable, flavorful Tex-Mex. But I have to start with a small heartbreak: my beloved puffy taco is gone. I grew up in San Antonio, Texas, where the puffy taco was created, and it's deeply nostalgic for me. It's not a sope, not a tostada--it's a true puffy taco, light, airy, and unlike anything else. For a long time, Superica made one that came remarkably close to what I grew up with. Unfortunately, after changes in leadership and kitchen management, it quietly disappeared from the menu. That was a real disappointment. That said, I still come back--because the food here is consistently good. The crispy tacos with picadillo are my current favorite. Picadillo (P-I-C-A-D-I-L-L-O) is a traditional Latin dish with many regional variations, and this version reminds me of the one my grandmother used to make in San Antonio. The portions are generous, the flavors are balanced, and the menu offers something for everyone--from enchiladas and chile rellenos to steaks and fresh tableside guacamole. Speaking of guacamole, I'm a purist. I like it simple: avocado, jalapeño, cilantro, lime, garlic--chunky and clean. Superica delivers on that. The chips and salsa are bottomless, the salsa has great depth of flavor, and for those who like heat, they offer a tiny dropper of hot sauce that is smoky, bold, and absolutely not for the faint of heart. The ginger margarita is another standout. It comes with a generous piece of crystallized ginger and has a bright, balanced flavor that makes it easy to order a second one. And if you have room for dessert, do not skip the tres leches cake--rich, decadent, and a perfect way to end the meal. I also appreciate the little touches here: * Friendly, knowledgeable waitstaff * A lively bar area that's great for happy hour * A beautiful outdoor patio that makes al fresco dining feel special * And a fun tradition of sending you home with a packaged Texas praline This South End location is my personal favorite. It feels more adult and relaxed, while the Strawberry Hill location tends to be more family-heavy. Both are good, but the vibe here suits me better. Yes, prices have crept up a bit--as they have everywhere--but the quality, consistency, and atmosphere keep me coming back. And as someone who travels frequently for work across multiple states, I appreciate that Superica maintains a dependable standard wherever I encounter it. Bottom line: Even without the puffy taco, Superica remains one of my favorite Tex-Mex spots in Charlotte. Come hungry, bring friends, share plates--and as always, travel safe and eat well.
