Our refridgerator's ice maker stopped working after this last SDG&E power outage, and my family has been going a little crazy without ice for drinks and smoothies. After trying some resets and some other possible quick fixes I found on Google and Youtube to no avail, I finally called Ron and he came out the next day to troubleshoot it. He was great at explaining the problem. Apparently it's a known issues with a lot of Whirlpool freezers that run the cables from the door to the unit in a way that makes an extra pinch point. Over years of use and opening/closing the door, it eventually pulls out the harness or severs the cable. Pricing was very fair, he was friendly and professional, arrived on time, and saved me a lot of time and headache (and from having to buy voltimeters and special tools to test connections and whatnot). Yesterday morning our "vintage" (2004) Whirlpool Duet started making some otherworldly screeching noises. My husband is very handy but decided this time to let a professional come take a look. I'd read great things about Mr. Ron and called his office right away. His wife/office manager Michele took my call and, amazingly, scheduled me for the next day (today from 12-2) and said that Ron would call when he was on his way. So, around 1:30 today, Ron called to let us know he was leaving his prior appt and maybe 15 minutes later he showed up. No gas problem but I had a drain under my washer I never knew about that should have water in it every so often plus a part on my dryer was loose. He cleaned the vent and it needed it. When our washer stopped working, leaving standing water, I was perplexed. So I jumped on yelp for some recommendations. I selected the highly rated Mr. Ron's Appliance repair, and have to say, they deserve their high accolades. First impression - very knowledgable & professional person on the phone scheduling the appointment. She carefully explained the pricing structure which seemed quite reasonable. I decided to ask him to check our dryer & dishwasher as well, since neither was performing too well and it seemed prudent. When Mr. Ron arrived, he was prompt, polite, professional and efficient. He ended up fixing all these appliances quickly, adding a new washer pump, clearing dryer vent blockage, removing excess venting etc., & moreover, carefully explained what he was doing. Ron and his other staff member were very condescending to me about the status of the job when they showed up. They talked down to be about the fact that the washer and dryer were still in boxes and we did not have the proper supplies. At the end of the day, I am the customer who solicited this service and supplies!! Rather than selling to me and being kind, they shamed me and complained about the potential to possibly not fit the washer and dryer through the door or into the space. The builder was standing next to me, we both verified that the appliances were going to fit, and it was offensive to both of us. I agreed to pay the price of their services, with the whole tone being that I, the paying customer, was inconveniencing them. I called Mr. Ron to change my dryer from natural gas to liquid propane. He arrived, worked on dryer for 10 minutes and left. I smelled gas so I called him. He said he checked all gas connection within dryer and it wasn't leaking. He told me to call lp provider. I called lp provider who found the leak in the dryer. ($135.00 later) I called Mr. Ron who came and checked the dryer and said it was a bad gas valve. I had the Maytag warranty guy out who said Mr. Ron didn't install the part (which I had provided). When I called Mr. Ron he was less then cooperative. He later placed the part on my fronbt door step. ?! So obviously he charged me $100.00 to do nothing, which could have caused a fire?! read more

I'm not sure but I felt like this guy ripped me off. My washer was not going into the rinse cycle. He came out, troubleshooted and then did some unknown things. No parts were replaced, he did change out the old rubber hoses, and then he charged me $295. The washer is now working, but to be honest, I think maybe I just wasn't waiting long enough for the cycle to change to rinse. The cold water faucet was leaking, but he didn't seem to be able to fix that, so it's still dripping. I felt like he was a bit condescending. Not really the best experience. Mr Ron took great care and made 2 trips out to diagnose my Maytag dryer. The dryer occasionally made a strange noise and then would trip the breaker. We could not duplicate the issue on his first trip. I called him a second time as the breaker tripped a few more time. He parked his little truck in the middle of the driveway so no one could access the garage or pull in the driveway. He did move it when I asked. I've left a review for this business in the past but we had Ron out here again, this time for our dishwasher. It was such a great feeling to know that we had someone to call who knows what he is doing and does it for a very fair price. Ron fixed the dishwasher and explained some things about how to make it more effective at cleaning. Here's the tip he gave me that I had no idea about: I use those detergent tablets in the dishwasher and always put them in the dispenser cup. Thanks to Ron explaining how they work I now know that they won't work properly unless they are loose in the machine. There is a long explanation for it but suffice it to say, just drop them in the bottom of the machine and turn it on. Also, ALWAYS make sure to run your water at the sink until it is as hot as it will get BEFORE you turn your dishwasher on. THE BEST! read more
